"World Power" is the legendary debut album by Eurodance duo Snap! which has sold millions of copies worldwide. The album was originally released on 14 May 1990 and features some of their biggest hits, including the iconic "The Power", "Ooops Up", "Cult Of Snap!" and "Mary Had A Little Boy".

"World Power" launched the incomparable careers of Frankfurt-based producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti, aka Benito Benites and John "Virgo" Garrett III, who joined forces as Snap! in 1989. Their debut album is their most successful release to date, with more than seven million units sold worldwide and countless gold and platinum awards. The opening track "The Power" made it into the Top 3 of the singles charts in Germany, the UK and the US and appeared in numerous movies, such as "Coyote Ugly", "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" or "Bruce Almighty".

On 03.03.2023, "World Power" will be released for the first time as a limited 12" picture disc with the original artwork and track listing.

'Smoke City' was an English band that blended acid jazz and trip-hop, best known for their single "Underwater Love", which was a major hit in 1997. It is featured on their successful debut album 'Flying Away'.
Other tracks as "Numbers" and "Dark Walk" are just as strong and they're covering almost every style of music on the record.

On the West Coast, gangsta rap held sway in hip-hop as the 21st century began. The alternative and conscious rap music of the early-to-mid-90s had all but faded into the underground. The scene was set for a comeback, perhaps as a backlash to the perceived violence and misogyny of gangsta rap's content. Leading the resurgence of alternative hip-hop were groups like Jurassic 5, and recentsignees to Capitol Records, a West coast trio that had been building steam underground since the early 90s called Dilated Peoples. Anticipation was high for the release of the debut album from Evidence, Rakaa, and DJ Babu. (Of the influential turntablist collective Beat Junkies.) When The Platform arrived in May of 2000 it was met with critical and underground acclaim, as well as affording Dilated Peoples their first Billboard chartings. It featured a back-to-basics sound with a heavy debt to the old-school hip-hop ethos, the kind of sound that harkened back to the early days of legends like De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest. Hits like "No Retreat" and "The Platform" were bolstered by Evidence & Rakaa's subtle, abstract wit, and swift, adroit wordplay, while DJ Babu provided production chops and dextrous scratches. On The Platform the trio were joined by the likes of B-Real, Tha Alkoholiks, Everlast, Planet Asia, and many more providing guest vocals, while boasting guest production from The Alchemist & Kut Masta Kurt, among others. Since its 2000 release this influential record, which heralded the return of alternative hip-hop, has never seen a vinyl reissue. With that, Get On Down-always on top of giving the greatest hip-hop albums their due-is proud to present this re-release of The Platform. The rhymes are still fresh, the production is still pristine, and the album is now back on vinyl for the first time in 17 years.

DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, could be credited with bringing newfound introspection to the gloating sounds of hip-hop. Condensed with urban oscillations and scatological beats, 1996's Endtroducing shudders with eclectic samples and aural montages that reach beyond the constraints of hip-hop style. Enhancing the mix with fundamentals of rock, soul, funk, ambient, and jazz, the modern fusions fail to go unnoticed, even by the casual listener. While most of the tracks are compiled by layering samples from vinyl treasures found in used-record bins, the production quality of the mosaic is unmatched. Darkened melodies carry throughout the album with its eye on the end of the tunnel. The narration samples come from numerous sources and keep the listener involved and waiting for resolution. With a message as fragmentary as an overheard conversation, Endtroducing conveys no apparent conclusion, but begs the mind, body, and soul for some rewind.

William DeVaughn in the early 70s was a part time singer and
government employee. He wrote a song called "A Cadillac Don't Come
Easy", which was eventually re-written to become "Be Thankful for
What You Got", in 1972. Recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in
Philadelphia, the session featured an array of talented members of
the MFSB group.
The track was eventually released on Roxbury Records, a subsidiary ofChelsea Records and sold nearly two million copies on its release in
spring 1974, reaching No. 1 on the US Billboard R&B chart and No. 4
on the Billboard Hot 100. The track saw two chart entries in the UK,
with the record peaking at #31 (1974) and also #44 (1980), in the UK
Singles Chart.
With a sound and content influenced by Curtis Mayfield, its simple
and encouraging lyrics hit home, to the extent that it’s become an
enduring soulful, disco hit for music aficionados all over the world.
Now presented here in a brand new 12” sleeve and backed with the
beautiful Blood Is Thicker Than Water.

Hip Hop Collected will take you on a musical journey through the history of hip hop. This hip hop compilation album is part of the new Collected compilation series, which is a collaboration between Universal Music and Music On Vinyl. The compilations bring together the biggest and best names of its genre, combined with forgotten hits and less discovered gems, giving the listener an experience of both nostalgia and uncovering new musical grounds at the same time.

Cypress Hill is widely respected and considered to be amongst the main progenitors of West Coast rap and Hip Hop in the early 1990s. With mega-hits like "Insane in the Brain", "I Wanna Get High" or "Tequila Sunrise" they crossed-over to mainstream breaking all records for a rap band up until that time. Cypress Hill were the first Latino-American hiphop group to have RIAA Certified platinum and multi-platinum albums. As musicians they became famous for the crazy sounds produced by DJ Muggs and Bobo and the stoner sympathetic lyrics of B-Real and Sen Dog. They redefined and shattered the boundaries of hip-hop, crafting gutter-dirty tracks that fused deep bass lines with blissful, stoned-out melodies and aggressive hard rock riffs, creating a unique imprint. Legendary 7X GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winning artist/producer Dr. Dre celebrates the 30th anniversary of his magnum opus, The Chronic by announcing the album will be re-released. The Chronic, which is not currently available on streaming services, will again be available to fans on all major DSPs .

Guru had a vision and brought together a diverse group of jazz cats both old and new school; Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis, Ronny Jordan, Donald Byrd and Roy Ayers and vocalists like Carleen Anderson, N'Dea Davenport (Brand New Heavies) and French rapper MC Solaar have cooperated on this classic album. Jazzmatazz proved to be a highly influential album and a huge commercial success.

Best Of 50 Cent is a career-spanning chronicle of one of music's most compelling and influential artists. Despite their rapid success and recognition, De La Soul continued to prove themselves as one of the most original, authentic and creative groups in hip-hop, with the release of their sophomore album, De La Soul is Dead on May 14, 1991.Featuring once again, the production of visionary producer Prince Paul, their second album further fanned the flames; landing on charts around the world, receiving a five-mic rating in The Source and securing Gold status by the RIAA. To this day, the project is considered one of the groups best albums to date, having left fans with several certified classics like, "A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays", "Ring, Ring, Ring (Ha Ha Hey)" and "Keepin' the Faith". Coming off the back of the expensive Lovesexy Tour, Prince needed to replenish his coffers and agreed to record nine original songs for Tim Burton's box office smash movie, Batman, starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Kim Basinger. Straight out the gate, Nas dropped a classic. Since the release of the seminal ‘Illmatic’ album in 1994, critics and fans have been wondering if Nas peaked too early and if anything in his subsequent catalogue could be held up against this masterpiece. To be fair, it’s hard to follow up something this flawless, a project that allied his most insightful, pitch-perfect heartfelt rhymes with the work of the best hip-hop producers on the east coast.

DJ Premier, Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest and Large Professor all take their turns on the album, along with the unsung L.E.S., but it’s Pete Rock in his prime who provides the stunning backdrop for the cinematic ‘The World is Yours’. It’s a perfect nugget of a single, weaving in the brashness of Scarface, the repetition of a snatch of T La Rock’s early Def Jam gem ‘It’s Yours’ and piano courtesy of Ahmad Jamal’s ‘I Love Music’ from his own timeless ‘The Awakening’ album (1970).

Presented for the first time on 7”, the vocals of the album version and the instrumental on the flip provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy and compare the work of two masters at the top of their game. Pete Rock’s seamless weaving of disparate samples into a compelling whole, the then little-known Nas’ statement of intent. With a maturity beyond his tender years, Nas put himself straight at the top of the pile, this Queensbridge chronicle hinting at the ambition and greatness he harboured within himself.

Dynamite Cuts has unleashed perhaps one of the greatest, if not, the greatest, summer time soul classics. The legendary Roy Ayers has written many gems over the years, loads of club and dance tracks and some killer down tempo songs but, one stands up above all the rest. It’s been issued as a 7” before, back in 1975 and now sells for big bucks - if you’re lucky enough to find one.

A - “Everybody loves the sunshine” - I would say needs no introduction, just check youtube 11.5 million people can’t be wrong, it’s simple, timeless and oh sooo needed to be on 7” again!
