It's clean, it's sharp, and it invokes images of futuristic, spacious constructions. For his first full-length album, breakcore artist Techdiff leaves the dancefloor anthems behind and demonstrates an insolent talent for ultra-edited, highly dynamic tracks mixing break beats, electronica and sound design. Myriad of details and idea flow together in this beast of a work, which demonstrates (as his label mate Ruby My Dear also did recently) that there's much hope to be had in this new wave of breakcore producer. This clearly doesn't sound like anything this genre has ever produced in the past, but proves to be an impressive milestone for this artist and this style.

Really really sick beat.so devastating that i have had to admit myself to the mental hospital entering into the even darker and dirtier area of dubstep now, I introduce you to Koan Sound. I have heard that these boys are only 17 years old although I'm yet to confirm this. These guys have been smashing it lately, with more than one forthcoming releases on both Dubsaw & Screw Loose Records, aswell as releases on labels such as Trill Bass's Trill Bass Records' it's almost obvious these guys are gonna soon be smashing up the scene with their deep, dark and chopped up dancefloor killers.

Paul Geissinger aka Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skills that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things 'street bass' then Starkey's hard edged spaced out crunk is the sound for you. The upcoming slab of wax from Starkey is going to be a hot collectors piece! This release is split single from both the Slit Jockey Records and Seclusiasis imprints that Starkey runs alongside Dev79 and El Carnicero. In true form, the Slit Jockey side is a raw grime track featuring the MC talents of London's acclaimed Trim. The Seclusiasis side is a spacey r&b track with the alluring vocals of Leah Smith. The instrumentals of both songs are also included. These heavyweight tracks will only be available on a limited white vinyl pressing and will not be available digitally at the time the 12' is released.

nother choice find for Rag & Bone in the form of promising up and coming Bristol based producer Riffs. A fine debut with 4 tracks of Sci-fi sounding, twisted bass music, infused with elements of garage, funky and electro like no other. His tracks have been causing a bit of a sensation on Soundcloud over the last year particularly since Swamp 81 picked up on his work and gave him props. Riff's tracks display a deft application of unconventional drum patterns, basslines to make you move, infectious melodies and space age vocal manglings that make for a trademark sound. Elusive and only 23, he grew up in a musical household with a father a London punk and a mother a Polish accordion player. That combined with growing up on a diet of underground music provided by the Bristol club scene and sound system parties of the South-West, this has got Riff's to where he is at.Distal - 'Wow. Special 12” featuring new versions of the track Fa, taken from the debut Fennesz solo album ‘Hotel Paral.lel’ (1997). 15 years after its initial release, Christian Fennesz gives this throbbing monster of a track a new seeing to, extending it and adding more of that magic he is so well known for. The album was always an exercise in exploring alternate means of hearing club based music. This new version carries that concept further.

This is backed by a cracking new mix by the ever productive Mark Fell, adding his unique beat structures, and even a MLK sample, which lends his contemporary rhythmic landscape a odd nostalgic twist.

This 12” can be seen as a warm up for the new Fennesz album, which is currently scheduled for 2013 release.

LV return to Hyperdub with a taste of what's to come on their forthcoming South London-meets-South Africa album 'Sebenza', due at the end of August. What LV make here is the exciting prospect of music influenced by South African house and Kwaito, informed by regular trips out there and sessions with up and coming South African artists such as Okmalumkoolkat, Ruffest and Spoek Mathambo, but letting the influences of UK soundsystem music and hip hop bleed naturally into the mix too, creating a genuine hybrid. The 'Get A Grip' EP leads with the enormously catchy 'Sebenza' .Okmalumkookat emcees around a chorus of 'Sebenza only rest in December', 'sebenza' meaning 'work' in his native Zulu tongue, dropping wit and product placement over super bouncy soca-like drums and bright stabs; it's a guaranteed hit. The song also has an amazing video by South African director Chris Saunders, shot in Everton Johannesburg. The EP's title tune 'Get A Grip', featuring Mumdance, is a loose, funky house track but bent out of shape with strange modulating synth sounds and a weird glottal repeating vocal.

This cheeky bootleg comes from a well know viking, who has released on labels such as Koze's Pampa Records and Hypercolour imprint, Glass Table. 4 tracks of super-fun, tongue-in-cheek house party classics

Quickly rising on the horizon of the London electronic scene, Croydon-based Deft joins forces with WotNot Music for an enchanting two-track EP with three beastly remixes. Deft's frenetic live sets and full-bodied productions have led to support slots for Tokimonsta and Bullion, the opening track on Maya Jane Coles DJ Kicks mix, and remix duties for Gang Colours, Fybe:one and Graham Coxon, not to mention a forthcoming full-length release on Hypercolour offshoot Space Hardware. While driving dancefloors wild with an energetic and fresh brand of ghetto-tech and footwork to rival the more predictable elements of London's dance-music scene, Deft's production on this release betrays his hip hop origins in a whole new way, with seductive beats, G-funk-esque top lines and unlimited swagger.
Lead track Clotting begins with a sensual percussive atmosphere and deep wobbling subs before funky synth stabs hit like beautiful, talc-coated pimp slaps. B-side Thought You'd Fancy It takes the form of fluid wonk, with kitchen sink percussion and dreamy synths. Jimmy Edgar drops the talkbox on a skippy, toe-tapping, raw-funk remix that takes Clotting to the dancefloor without losing its subtlety, while JJ Mumbles' more playful 4x4 re-work is full-on headnod. Chesslo Junior shows no mercy with a dirty-dirty-south hip hop remix of Thought You'd Fancy It that will be receiving a whole lot of pull-ups in 2012.Veteran Jimmy Edgar aside, this release brings together some the most exciting new faces from across the UK's EDM scenes, reinforced by the appearance of Fybe:one, Soosh and (U) remixes on the bonus package. Gathering such a team together highlights the growing strength of the WotNot machine and sets big expectations for the year to come from both the label and Deft's future releases.

Oneman may have started turning heads by melding old school UK garage with DMZ style dubstep, but he's proven on London institution Rinse FM that he is capable of more than marrying classics with current beats.
