The a-side is kicked off with 'Test Your Might', a Sega soaked slice of early/mid 90's style choppage. Think breaks, Mortal Kombat samples and a touch of koto are weaved together before all hell breaks loose barely a minute into the song. Brutality.
On 'Yeah-Uh!' Kid Lib takes a slightly less damaging approach, yet manages to keep the dance lit with that classic ragga vibe.
'Step Off' is arguably the most compelling tune of this 4 tracker. Starting off with a pleasantly mysterious sounding melody, intricately arranged break beat patterns and the occasional female vocals, it slowly makes its way to a heavyweight Coleman-led climax."Falling" brings the EP to a very dark and deep apocalypse. The ground shakes violently with God-like sub waves, until the crust crumbles into thousands of amen shards and suddenly you're falling... all the way to the core of the Earth.

With each release, GourmetBeats will give money to a charity or organisation of the artist's choice. Malleus' and Saule's charity is Homes For The Troops. This charity builds mortgage­-free, specially adapted homes throughout the United States for severely injured Post­ 9/11 veterans.

Almost a year after his last outing, London-based Vester Koza is making a welcome return to the fray with a new EP entitled OTR. Featuring four atmospheric cuts, for the first time it finds him step away from his own Maslo label to join Houndstooth.
Fusing elements of dub, ambient and IDM into moody sound worlds with you right at the centre, he has a subtle but seductive touch that has always marked him out. An on-going interest in security, technology and privacy characterizes his work, as does a passion for the vintage and modern gear he uses when producing. All of that is evident here in his most cerebral and conceptual release yet.

The dubplate king, the dubstep ambassador, Joe Nice has finally decided to start his record label, GourmetBeats. For the first release, Joe does what he does best - selection - and this choice does not disappoint. GourmetBeats 001 finds two exclusive tunes from DJG.'Swazi Rhythm', a staple of Joe's live sets and radio shows for more than a year, is a tribalist slow burner that trots to an attention-grabbing woodblock pattern. Various cyclical additions complete the pivots in between, and, a driving, steam engine-type whistle, and a warbling theremin tone increases the tension. Building the intensity, DJG reloads the stomping subs with aggressive and tasteful snarls to complete the melodic content.'Drumma', a new DJG production, has a polyrhythmic rolling gallop with a serious low-end. A choir of voice drones float above an angry, but controlled metallic melody. Offset snares and occasional synth stabs move the music amidst waves of industrial textures.
Charity:
WIth each release, GourmetBeats will make a financial contribution to a charity or social cause in the name of the artist. The chosen charity for this inaugural release is Little Kids Rock. This charity funds lasting musical education programs in United States public schools by donating instruments, providing curricular resources, and training faculty.

On Myor Massiv's fourth installment, label boss Coco Bryce finds himself hopelessly lost in the jungle.
'Worries In Da Dance' starts off with a set of choppy breaks, reminscent of the Drumfunk heydays of the early noughties, until a clash host calls for further excitement and a flurry of Amen snares and crashes turn the jungle dial up to 11.
Fire' boasts a fine cocktail of 808 bass, reggae samples and Cold Sweat breaks, making for a nice lickle '94/'95 style roller.
Massiv' follows a more Rave-influenced path, melding pitched female vocals, clean and heavy subs and straight forward Amen patterns into an ode of sorts to Roy Lasprilla's crunchy-sounding yet oh-so-attractive hardcore/jungle hydrids from 20+ years ago.
'Himalaya' finds Coco Bryce stuck amidst a group of cave explorers and classic cartoon sound effects. His only way out seems to be by means of weaving together an escape ladder comprised of kicks, hats and snares lifted from a plethora of untamed drum loops. But alas, to no avail, as he is, and will be for the time being, firmly stuck in this world of chaos and disorder.

GULLY RECORDS is a new project from Donga, owner of Well Rounded Records.

Once again he found himself in the position of being inspired by the talent of producers reaching out and sending dubs his way and decided another outlet was in order.

(Once again this ep is only being released on vinyl in a limited quantity with no digital release planned at this stage.)

At GULLY the aim is to provide the DJ with some of the darkest DANKest dubs around. These have that shadowy nefarious flava but with plenty of presence on da floor. This ep has united contrasting tracks at a steady bpm range within the mid-120s to the high-130s.

Great soaring Hard Techno release with heavy drums and rolling percussion. Sepromatiq invites some of his greatest associates to join on this records. All credit is due.

Alter Echo & E3 return for their third chapter on ZamZam with a dark, low-slung steppers featuring the one Rider Shafique of Bristol's esoteric Young Echo crew. AEE3's first collaboration with a vocalist, 'Heights' provides a rockstone riddim for Rider to step forward with a powerful lyric, a declaration of principles and intention to trod outta Babylon, tearing off mental chains along the way with total focus on the destiny of liberation for those with the will to persevere. Rider's presence transforms every track he graces into pure message music, as heard in recent months on collaborations with Gorgon Sound, Ishan Sound, Gantz and more.

"Heights" rocks with swirling atmospheres and pointillist detail, powerfully psychedelic dubbing at once organic and metallic, always with fundamental dub principles anchoring and propelling forward, ever forward. The version 'The Sound Tonight' strips the vocal out completely, using that space to push the kick, bass and ricocheting snares further forward with extra dub flourishes, mirages, and sample grinding.
Preferring quality to quantity, Alter Echo & E3 have become a duo to watch, particularly after last year's 'Nubian Dub' b/w 'Warning Dub' 7' on ZamZam sold out instantly, becoming an immediate underground hit. Both tracks have spawned heavyweight remixes by Egoless, Ishan Sound and DJ Madd, all of which will see release later in the year on a pair of limited Khaliphonic 10's. Stay tuned.

After much anticipation Infernal Sounds finally bring their first musical offering to the table with a 2 tune vinyl and 3 tune digital release from the one and only Perverse.They're a fitting duo to honour the introductory release on the label, branching out from an already highly successful life on Youtube. With merch and even more news on the way, it's fitting this release sees the light of day now with a release just into the new year planned, so get saving those pennies.

Side A 'IO' starts with an airy intro with light highs and snares dancing around an atmospheric flutter. It builds brilliantly to a rigorous roller, with surging bass lines and a continued medley of interestingly arranged drums. With complex joints between growling notes, this tune does not disappoint and gets the release off to a fantastic start. On side B 'Aye Aye', a weightier track with a slightly more stomping element against the first tune's rolling atmosphere. The highs in this tune are perfection, dancing around the bass lines creating a really tangled but organised collection of sounds around a rigid bass line. The minimalistic notes in the later bars only add to the rising vibes of this tune, concluding the tunes included on the vinyl.

* 'Better Strangers' is the debut album by Manchester based producer Acre, set for release by Tectonic Recordings on 6th November 2015. The album follows EPs on both Tectonic and sister label Cold Recordings and Visionist's PAN collaboration label Codes.

* As influenced by rave & jungle, grime and techno as electronica, ambient and drone; his EP releases have been rhythm driven snapshots of other-worldliness spliced with dancefloor sensibilities. Acre has sought to explore a wider variety of textures on 'Better Strangers'; to re-contextualise elements from UK bass music, bring them away from the dancefloor and open up new possibilities.

* 'I tried to include more emotion in this album than my previous releases and wanted to represent a broader side of my productions. The title 'Better Strangers' comes from the feeling that some people make better strangers than friends (or better off being strangers) in your life, and the album is about recognising that."

* Having previously released with the likes of Hyperdub, Manchester's Walton makes his Tectonic debut with 4 killer dancefloor cuts, that combine to form the 'Bulldoze EP'. Drawing influence from grime, house, techno, dubstep, hip hop and beyond, Walton has crafted a unique sonic that will ignite dancefloors everywhere.

* 'Wrench' opens the EP up with a sense of spaciousness and anticipation, building percussive layers meticulously before serving up warped bass and machinated drum patterns. Grime-techno crossover in action - rolling rhythms and icy moods all the way. Following on with the grime flavours, 'Flute Riddim' builds broken poly-rhythms before unleashing devastating bass and a twisted flute sample to great effect. Metallic bongos bounce around rolling claps and agitating bass with the flute motif returning to bring it all together again. * Flip then for the title track, 'Bulldoze'. Distorted drums and snatches of rowdy pirate radio build the mood before slamming into some sweeping squarewave bass action - guaranteed to get heads nodding furiously. Rhythmical elements build and develop, eventually taking the track into 4/4 territory, ramping up the energy along the way. Last up is 'L.E.A.N' which closes the EP with its fizzing percussive hits and mysterious vocal hits, and a melodic line that could easily have featured in The Exorcist! Once again Walton shows us his taste for percussive movement laden with echoes of grime-past splashing here and there effortlessly.

Like a slimer rising forth from the swamp Neil Landstrumm returns to Germany once more with fresh new meat for the BBQ. Echoing his recent UK BASS tracks on Planet Mu, Landstrumm brings new styles and flavours to his favourite foreign country on the Slidebar label. The music speaks for itself and your unlikely to hear anything else like this record the week of release, Be brave, try something different. Don't be a sheep sheep and yes you can mix it with other records. It just doesn't sound the same as ALL the other ones. You don't have to be into dubstep and grime to like these beats. Fresh from his Phonat-remixing OWSLA outng with ASA, Sorrow jumps aboard the good ship Fent Plates with fve stunning slices of futuristc garage soul. "Chronicle" ignites with icy ambient charm before hurtling into a soppy wet two-step groove while "Cypher" jumps with more of a D&B-infuenced two-step and oozes all manner of harrowed textures. Flipping the switch with sof sonic sentments, "Kalypso" fexes a smouldering slow moton halfime vibe that provides heaps of space for the shimmering guitars and dreamy faraway vocals.
