Since her debut EP for Hyperdub early last year, which won accolades and acclaim everywhere from the Guardian to Mixmag to Music Week, Cooly G has become firmly established as an in-demand DJ, producer and remixer, touring the world, and remixing top ten acts. She is also about to launch her own label Dub Organizer, with the first release imminent, and is currently starting work on an album for Hyperdub. Yet with all that merit to her name, this is "only" her second proper Hyperdub single, and third release in total including 'Weekend Fly', her side of last summer's 'Hyperdub 5.5' EP shared with Mala from Digital Mystikz. Side A is the utterly dreamy 'Up In My Head', a blissful track built around her own vocals, lush jazzy chords and pulsing drums that sound like a never ending build up. Side AA is the frantic swirling drama of 'Phat Si', where drums and abstract bleeps and stabs snake around each other over tough as leather drums and throbbing bass.

Since their debut appearance on Deep Medi Music, Truth has been hard at work on their LP and now it's ready to drop. With the initial album sampler (LAB010 'Dead Silence' & 'Burglar') laying the foundations, the second 12' LAB011 (forthcoming on 9th August) reinforces with 'Juno' & 'Under Current', two huge stepper grooves layered with more than enough weight for the shockout. The album itself 'Puppets' is a dense trip through moody big bass-driven soundscapes that include some of their finest work in the form of 'The Fatman', 'Lab Rat' and a VIP of the previously released 'Terror Planet'. Also on the roster, Truth's 'Legion', possibly their most sought-after riddim to date, which brings their trademark sound signatures of sweeping synths and massive amounts of bass fully into place. 'Pup- pets' touches on many styles such as the liquid offering of 'Indigo Mood', or the almost genre defying vocal lick 'Don't Explain'. 'Puppets' is a full bodied experience from start to finish - for darkly elegant dubstep it doesn't get much better than this. Truth have received DJ support around the globe from artists such as Mala, Skream, Joe Nice, Breakage, Hatcha and N Type, with their beats being dropped at shows from Club Love in New York City to DMZ in London, as well as featur- ing on radio stations BBC Radio One, Kiss and Rinse. Two comprehensive Europe tours and a string of gigs around Australia and Asia, have included an appearance at the legendary DMZ night in Brixton and the infamous Sub Dub in Leeds. Truth's big riddims have been quickly snatched up by a number of established labels such as seminal Deep Medi Musik and Skream's Disfigured Dubs. Alix Perez has included his collaboration with Truth on his debut album '1984~ and the group have remixed the likes of The Nextmen, Ms Dynamite and Silverclub.

DJ Primecuts of the world-renowned Scratch Perverts steps up for Stretched Records' second release, in the wake of his collaboration with Dynamite MC on 'Warning' and his vast remix of Foreign Beggars 'Gash'. Both tunes were championed by dubstep's established heavy hitters such as Skream, Benga and N-Type, with 'Gash' featured in Herve's hugely successful 'Ghetto Bass' compilation. 'Rubber Banned' is a guaranteed dance destroyer already causing mayhem in Scratch Perverts sets across the globe. Disjointed, twisted bass patterns sit astride booming subs, wrapped up with huge, evolving synth lines ensuring that this astonishing track stakes its place as a certified club banger. On the flip, 'Sabotage' finds Primecuts drawing influences from jungle, hip hop, and old school rave, combining and entwining the best of each to create a devastating dubstep floor filler. As the lead melody is fed and manipulated through pounding drums, crunching bass and gritty synth work, each element combines in the kind of rib shaking effect that demands a rewind. Bearing down like the adrenalysed offspring of the ominous18-wheeler in Spielberg's "Duel", this is a record of inevitable massive impact.

Om Unit continues his assault on 2010 bass, following critical acclaim and widespread public demand for his b-boy refix of Joker's 'Digidesign' and All City Dublin 7" 'Lavendar', both of which flew off the shelves like uncaged birds at the start of this year. Throw in a forthcoming EP for Plastician's Terrorhythm label, and you have an artist who positively oozes the here and now. Letting his music do the speaking, Om Unit has built a name for himself as a producer's producer, someone who can comfortably dip in and out of styles and genres without contrivance, while - more importantly - being eminently capable of putting his own twist on whatever direction he's heading in. 'Searching' is undoubtedly his biggest, most anthemic and crowd-pleasing track to date, a yearning soulful theme for Generation Bass which has the same rousingly emotive and unifying qualities as peak time fixtures from previous club eras. It has been a weapon of choice in Plastician's sets for months now, rightfully leading to white-hot anticipation of its release. Adding further buy-on-sight appeal is the thunderous B-side remix by long-time Om Unit collaborator EAN, formerly one half of the creative genius behind Various Production.
