Picking up right where the last track on the previous COH release RETRO-2038 left off, the new album is focused on the use of beats within the similar aesthetics. While most of the previous COH records openly shy away from accentuated beat structures and instead build up their rhythmical content by layering waves and pulses, every track on TO BEAT is padded with just that - beats. The music transition is illustrated in the album's artwork, displaying transformation of a sine-wave, a tone, into a waveform which is "beat".

Classic/ Experimental.. " Hydras Dream is a special collaboration between the Swedish musicians ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF and MATTI BYE (winner of the Guldbaggen 2014 price for scoring the film drama ""Faro"" and composer of the film score for ""The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared""). The concept behind this project is to interpret stories, movies and myths into musical landscapes. For their debut album ""The Little Match Girl"", von Hausswolff and Bye construed the beautiful and melancholic story by H.C. Andersen of the same title. Asked about the reason for this particular choice, the two musicians state: ""It was her tragic faith in the winter's cold that inspired us. She is freezing to death with no money and no comfort, she is all alone, dreaming of a warmer place. When death strikes her she is filled with magical illusions and dreams. Oddly enough, hypothermia and death are the only two comfort zones we experience in this story. Sad but beautiful." The music of Hydras Dream is mostly made through improvisation and by using repetitious patterns and melodies. Indeed, the two musicians state ""We want to use intuition and spontaneity as two key elements in the compositions, and therefore we don't pre-record anything. We just play whatever feels good and fits the theme and press rec."" Thus it is no surprise that ""The Little Match Girl"" was written and recorded during only three days in Matti Bye's studio. Exploring the entire spectrum of their instruments, von Hausswolff and Bye ingeniously combined their virtuosity in order to craft an eclectic and delicate album, located somewhere inbetween neo-classical experimentalism and avantgarde dream-pop. One can virtually image how the notes of this debut faintly resound behind the candle-lit windows which separate the little match girl from the life-saving warmth, how their echoes join her in her inevitable fate ... Animal Hands is the collaborative venture of two close friends, Will Samson & Heimer. Since the duo had worked closely together as mutual producers on Samson's solo releases, Balance (2012) & Light Shadows (2014), it was natural that a joint musical project would eventually materialise. However, in comparison with these two preceding records, this new body of truly collaborative work takes a different direction into more electronic inspired sounds

The follow-up to the great Holla EP by Johannes Brecht Henrik Schwarz's Sunday Music imprint. In the meantime labels like Mule Musiq and Boso succesfully released their own Brecht tracks and extended the audience worldwide. In My Time Of Dyin' continues the deep, musically output of Henrik Schwarz's Sunday Music label in the best way possible. Very recent, reflecting jazz, classical minimal music into electronic music. Deep trippy music with a strong swing on the A-side. Cleverly written music patterns with a hypnotic vibe. Side B features a live jazz version in 6/8 signature on piano and drums (drummer of german popstar Max Herre). Johannes Brecht is by the way the classical music arranger on Henrik Schwarz upcoming full orchestra album, coming in April 2015. When Henrik Schwarz heard the music from Johannes Brecht he knew now was the time to reactivate his label SUNDAY-MUSIC again that hasn't released a record in quite a while now. Johannes is a wonderful musician that plays bass and keyboards and also writes music for orchestra. When a classically trained musician looks into electronic music and manages to bring together the best of both worlds the result can be very exciting.

Between 2008's 'The Devil, You & Me' and this year's 'Close To The Glass', The Notwist not only concentrated on various solo projects, but also worked for several theatre productions and radioplays.'The Messier Objects' is a compilation of some of these works. The collection obviously brings to mind the ghosts of Library Music and 70s soundtracks, but can also be heard as a summary of the band's ever evolving musical cosmos: The seventeen featured pieces range from sample-based, electronic collages to the buoyant post-rock. Whether the band is experimenting with modular synthesizers, analogue percussion, or even horn sections, you will always find music in a constant flow of gentle grooves that make this light-footed and open-minded collection more than just a counterpiece to 'Close To The Glass'

Markantonio can rightly be described as one of Italys true Techno titans, working tirelessly as he has since the late nineties to bring the tougher side electronic music into the light. Recording for labels such as Marco Carolas Design Music, Billy Nastys Tortured Records and Umeks Recycled Loops, Markantonio has spent the last 16 years on the cutting edge of quality Techno but it was with the launch of his Analytic Trail imprint in 2001 that he perhaps truly came into his own.
The label became a hotbed for emerging and established names as Markantonios own productions sat alongside releases from the likes of Jospeh Capriati, Davide Squillace, Rino Cerrone, & Paco Osuna. Away from the studio he established himself as a global DJ, taking his own unique sound on to the road, across Europe and beyond and garnering fans wherever he went.
Now the Naples based DJ/producer has distilled his near 2 decades of experience into this, his debut album. Musichemistry is a relective work that draws inspiration from the artists musical beginnings. Taking its cues from his formative experiences as a DJ and even earlier as a younger sibling influenced by his brothers weekend party preparations, the album explores, as the title suggests, the chemical influence that music has on the brain.
Opening with the downtempo, left of center title cut Musichemistry its clear from the off that Markantonio is here to offer more than a straight up techno selection. The first portion of the album explores the producers lighter side, twisting from the opener into the house tinged offerings of True Story, Brain Training and Does Not Exist.
From here on in the sound morphs into a rolling ride of tech fuelled beats and speaker rattling basslines. Tracks such as Carny and Abduction explore the deeper side of techno, whilst the likes of Last Way and Yho are floorfilling monsters that are sure to take the roof off.
Throughout the selection Markantonios open minded production proclivites rein, with subtle melodic elements, ethereal pads and understated percussive elements rubbing shoulders with tough stabs and brutal kick drums, he is undoubtedly an artist with an incredible musical pallette at his disposal.

Fresh from his debut long player Natureboy, which Gilles Peterson described as ‚stunning', stand out track ‚Twelve O'Clock Shadow, featuring strings by esteemed West Coast arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, gets an outing on wax.
The release also features two exclusive non-album tracks, the hypnotic Demon's Lullaby and the excellent, Dirg Gerner featuring cut In To You.

Diynamic is proud to announce the debut album of Thyladomid called 'Interstellar Destiny', to be released worldwide on March 30th. Thyladomid is a DJ and producer based in Germany with English roots. He has stepped up into the international limelight back in 2010, when his single 'The Voice' held the pole position on Beatport's Deep House charts for six consecutive weeks and eventually got him a 'Beatport Music Award' in the category 'Top Deep House Track of the Year' (based on Beatport sales). Since then Thyladomid has been an inherent part of Diynamic, with New Release Information regular appearances on international label showcases, its own festivals as well as with multiple successful releases on the label and its sub-imprint 2DIY4, including highly-acclaimed collaborations with Adriatique. On Thyladomid's next adventure, which is his debut album 'Interstellar Destiny', he takes a different approach with his music: It does not feature the usual club sound you would expect from him. Instead, it mirrors his thoughtful and fragile nature in his songs, making this album as personal as one can be. 'Many things inspired me,' says the man himself on the album, 'but first and foremost it was movie scores. So when I was working on a track, I was actually imagining a movie scene that I would be doing the score for. The title 'Interstellar Destiny' means something in the way of 'universal meaning' or 'human purpose'. Every track describes a process or a situation of our lives here on planet earth, a beautiful or not so beautiful facet of our existence. The album is very melancholic and describes my musical nature in regard to my perception of my surroundings.

Several years ago, Valentin Stip was sitting alone by a harbor in the small French town where his parents grew up. 'I heard all the sailing strings hit the masts, and I realized that every sound you hear is potentially music,' he says. 'The only thing that makes sound into music is the mind, arranging it.' Since then, Valentin Stip has been building a bridge between the sounds that live inside and outside his head. On Sigh, the 21-year-old producer's full-length debut on Other People, Stip organizes classical piano, lightly sputtering grooves and intimate found sounds into an album of compositional grace and emotional honesty. Valentin Stip emigrated to New York City in middle school and immediately fell in with a creative crowd-including then-fledgling producer and future Other People label head Nicolas Jaar. Upon learning the ins and outs of electronic production, Stip discovered a new, more personal way of interpreting the darkly shaded piano music he'd been writing. He soon released a string of melancholy, beat-based EPs on Nicolas Jaar's Clown & Sunset label, Anytime Will Do (2011) and Angst (2013), and toured alongside Jaar, all while he was still in college. With eight songs clocking in at nearly an hour and sequenced as a continuous piece of music, Valentin Stip's Sigh charts a winding path through its creator's psyche. As Sigh unfolds, sounds become as tactile as objects: overcast electronic atmospheres rumble and swirl, minimalist piano melodies chime in the distance, and subtle programming percolates like ripples on the surface of a lake.

Finally, after much wrangling, the Blank Recording Company is truly chuffed to be able to make available again for the first time since their original releases the three highly sought after and extremely rare albums by John Sangster, originally released on Festival Records from 1967-1969. October sees the release of the first two, December sees the release of the third and final album from 1969, Ahead Of Hair. All three of these albums are mastered from the original analogue master tapes. All three sport the original cover art All three are sounding better than ever.

John Sangster is known the world over as a legendary Australian jazz multi instrumentalist, composer and arranger. Aside from releasing his own records, his name is on credits on many other albums from straight ahead jazz, prog, psych, country rock, soul and all points between. Copperwine, Tully, Don Burrows, Ray Brown / Moonstone, Sven Libaek, Judy Bailey. The list goes on.... Here's where it all came together on the solo tip...

First album, originally released in 1967. An all cover affair. A mixed bag of current pop hits from the likes of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Rolling Stones with Brazilian bossa nova, jazz and takes on soundtrack themes. Players on this album are John Sangster, George Golla, Sven Libaek (who also handles arrangements), Ed Gaston and Len Hutchinson. Produced by Pat Aulton.

The late French soundtrack composer (1939-1975) was one of the first to use frequency modulators on an 8 track homestudio.

Following on from 2014's Terrestre' 12', Lawrence Le Doux returns to Belgium's Vlek label with the 'Pollution' EP, 4 tracks of playful, hauntologically minded Electronica and Techno. Kicking off with the mesmerising loops of 'Floor', Le Doux works his machines to create an analogue gyre that ensnares the unguarded listener and neatly segues into 'Liquide' where a sublime mist of gentle hiss settles over his unworldly, almost naive, sounding synths and metronomic beat.
On the B-side the EP's title track deploys a meandering melody to simple yet devastating effect before the synths give way to scattergun metallic percussion, finally the EP closes with the organic bass-led 'Story', a beatless coda that exemplifies the EP's sense of nostalgia for the future.

Beautifully Designed 1LP, 180g Vinyl Just waking up and everything sounding slower. Holes in the wall. The unknown in the familiar. The shock of the new. Just-turned rubble. Thick clouds of recall. Muted high-life, de-centered hip-hop, and disparate conversation. Heavy, sinking jazz and dissected infomercials. Too much chewing gum Not quite anything, or half of something. Reminds me of. Smells like... Turkson Side is Africanus Okokon's first album. It is almost entirely sample-based, made largely within a simple, custom-made playback software with each track recorded in one take with very little editing. Wrake' is the only exception, a recording of him playing an Ethopian krar inside his house. Africanus is no stranger to the label. Primarily a visual artist with background in video, animation, and collage, he's designed most of Other People's recent site graphics and a number of release covers. In part, this album as Okokon is a translation of a developed aesthetic to an unfamiliar medium. Like his collage and animation work , it's rough-hewn yet deliberate, consciously inclusive of digital processing and sampling artifacts for their unique texture and visceral affect. Throw the means aside, though, and what you've got is an evocative collection of craggy, trance-inducing concréte-poetry that act equally well as soundscapes for late-night or early-morning. Asphalt' starts things, a near-fifteen-minute multi-movement' (if you will) piece that moves through zones of blasted commercial intro FX, alien telecast High-Life, gibberish spoken word, and xylophonic skeleton dance march music, lingering at every interstice. Shorter, more singular pieces follow, each swathing and detailing a particular rhythmic structure with choice loops: the detritus of film soundtracks, warped conversation, gain-pumped jazz-shuffles, and old, mystic drum tapes that glitch and squeeze through the software's un-sanded synapses.

Imagine there is a seven-headed rythmic beast with a percussionist, drummer, bassist, keyboardist, two horn players, and a DJ up on the stage embracing the musical totality of the world without any folklore kitsch, its subtlety and urban club grooves crossing various divisions in musical genre. Feindrehstar is standing on the stage. The studio recordings of this unique Jena-based band have long been known to capture the live energy of their onstage performances. And now Feindrehstar presents their second album named - Love & Hoppiness - fve years after their brilliant debut - Vulgarian Knights . A lot has happened in the meantime: countless club and festival gigs, an inspiring African tour as well as countless hours spent working in the studio. - Love & Hoppiness matured over three years, a musical puzzle that was composed at different locations - the frst recordings developed in the fall of 2012 with Michel Baumann (Soulphiction, Jackmate) and Nik Reiff in Stuttgart. Further overdubs with a trombone, violoncello, guitar and vocals followed at various home studios and conservatories. That's right, vocals have been brought onboard this otherwise instrumental band. Owing to these vocal tracks with Dave Aju, Ebo Taylor and Tina Keserovic on the microphone, Feindrehstar's sound continues to develop. Jazz, soul and funk vibes shine through on tracks like - Antelope , a track featuring the vocals and guitar of legendary Ghanaian musician Ebo Taylor. however in the end, things got mellow and he had so much fun that he recorded guitar tracks with enthusiasm. It was clear right from the start that everything clicked with Dave Aju - the smooth soul-soaked hiphop of - From Bob To Stevie standing out on the album. Feindrehstar call their music Krautclub, and the reason brought to become clear in - Caje Sukarije : a classic Balkan funk sound taken over by wild synth loops that become fused together in a haze of electro-funk. It is in act a Roma anthem sung by Tina Keserovic. The album akes a chiller, newer direction with - The New Ballad, - Blues For Bagdad as well as the completely acoustic ballad - Love & Hoppiness Int. with cello and clarinet, anchoring the album in a captivating calm.Despite the many new directions, the genre defying yet danceable club sound of Feindrehstar remains. - Love & Hoppiness , - Deep Horse , - Shake That und - Night Rainer Diskodub show once again that after 15 years of rocking dance foors, Feindrehstar's energy hasn't diminished. Mike Redman is a busy man. The renowned filmmaker, visual artist and record producer keeps himself occupied at all times. While his recently well received 'Voodoom' project (a collaboration between Bong-Ra and Redman's Deformer) is still hot out the oven, he already has a new project to his name: 'The Travel'.
Redman introduced the audience to The Travel a few years ago when a track was featured on the 'Songs of charcoal' compilation. Now a whole album will be released in september.
Where Redman usually arouses international crowds with Deformer's electronic violence, The Travel goes in depth with dark, at times oppressive and claustrophobic tracks with a high content of movie soundtrack influence. A direct result is that some tracks are already adopted by several American filmmakers. 'Oppressive' would make a great sub-genre for music like this. The tracks are musical fever dreams on transit and seem to struggle to
stay on the right path. The album title is fitting:
Nyctophobia, which includes fear of darkness. With The Travel, live instrumentation engages dialogue with Redman's productional skills and ominous sound design thickened with 'found sounds'. Nyctophobia
generates images when you listen to it and takes you on a journey through darkness...

Muffled hammering grows rhythmical. An uncarpeted snare joins in, clicks and clacks, babbling, racing from left to right around your head, out the back and in through the front again, a beat, a beat drives forward, forward through jungle, tunnels, pushing on and on, Tempelhof, down the corridor, knocking, knock knock, doors open, everyone in. Doors close. A cigarette. Menthol. Hangs in the air. Screws the spring into the metal. Sacral. Sharpens. Sharpens. The sound gets dirtier. Breaks off. Breathe. Another cigarette. Menthol. Feedback fills the room and on it goes. Automat and Max Loderbauer open proceedings on the new SELEKT label quite masterfully with an auspicious 4 track EP - Verstärker / Hall / Kompressor / Echo. How did this come about Automat, busy recording their second album, came across Max Loderbauer in the neighbouring studio. They got along swimmingly and started working together straight away. Everything played live, no overdubs' as Automat's bass player Georg Zeitblom confirms - first take, no shake. The studio was stripped down to basics. No computers though: a tape machine, guitar amplifier, analogue EQs, rehearsal space: Re-rewind, the crowd say Bo Selekter!'

Whilst he is primarily recognised for his bond with Detroit and its varying strands of House and Techno, Seth Troxler is an artist whose taste and collection spreads much further afield. Through his own imprint Soft Touch, Seth explores music from way beyond the motor city's borders as he seeks to outlet left-of-centre cuts that touch on 'interstellar guitar, calypso disco and seductive techno tracks'. With the project inaugurated by Clarian back in August of 2014, the second instalment comes from the Visionquest and Playhouse affiliated trio Rework who draw from their unique meld of synths and vocals and turn in their 'Lovecall' EP.

'Girl Or Boy' kicks things off with a dense wall of ducking pads before Sascha Hedgehog's vocals prowl over moody chord shifts and slow and steady drum beats. The swelling pads of the title trackk then omit a Miami-tinged glow atop a walking bass pattern and a melancholic synth refrain before 'Moon' sets hazy guitar licks rotating inside an aquatic casing. Bright, glassy pads bleed in overhead while reverb draws melodies from the horizon to the foreground, gently rolling progress forwards, and sealing off a second record that keeps us guessing where Soft Touch will turn to next.

'Reorchestrations' takes works by exceptional experimental/classical/folk musicians as source material, reworked with the trademark/signature/distinctive/typical Hidden Orchestra composition and production techniques. Unlike many remixes, these sensitive and non-destructive 'Reorchestrations' mostly leave the original track intact, and add layers of drums, basslines, and textures which extend the arrangements and subvert the harmonies of the original tracks - resulting in expansive reinterpretations rather than complete reworkings.

First up is Glasgow dj, Beta with his debut release "Endless Plains" a broken percussive, spine tingler. 100% emo.

Next London's L/F/D/M who had the first release on Optimo Trax returns under the modified moniker Love's Flaccid Disco Muscle with something a little different. "3am at the Aqua Disco" is bass heaviness with an almost exotica-style lead line. Unique and glorious.

Side two kicks off with New York's Alex Burkat (now relocated to Philadelphia) with an 8-minute depth-charge, "Culture Full Circle" that features a mutated sample form a legendary reggae track. One to get lost in.

The EP closes out with Modini (aka Neil Landstrumm and Alan Parley) with "Ghost Seducer": bass, dub and bleeps 21st century style.

'Flying While Standing' marks the first outing on Holger tracks, a Brussels based label that sprung out of a refreshing party breed which has seen the city's bustling underground mesmerized for the last couple of years. It's only a natural evolution for the two notorious record lovers behind the label, to start releasing on their own imprint. With this first outing they aim at giving a peek at Belgian synth pop still being alive, not only in the many retro compilations or obscurity reissues, but here and now.


Enter Bright Entity. Consisting of Michiel Claus and Ciska Thomas, both classically trained musicians and active in different other projects, the duo share a history leading them to team up on this project, starting out in 2009. While Michiel is looking to fulfill his musical needs in the electronic realms, Ciska, as a vocalist, does so in more acoustic settings. This mini album turned out to be the culmination of their shared love for synth pop, combining influences as wide as Arthur Russel, the dubpop sound of Peaking Lights and Pas de Deux, of which family ties convey a more profound kinship. Last year Ciska even joined the ranks of the cult formation when they performed a one off reunion concert at Brussels' Ancienne Belgique.


Throughout this six tracker you'll hear these influences shine trough in their idiosyncratic blend of sun induced, lo-fi casio pop, much in the vein of French duo Deux, Anne Clark or even Les Disques Du Crépuscule's Antena. Rich in colors and dynamics, with an ever pleasant friction between the rougher drumcomputer sounds and the fluid, soothing synths. Ciska's husky voice and cloudy melodies conjure up nicely with the housey drumsounds and deranged details that fill up the mix after a couple of listens. In fact it's not as straightforward as you might think at first listen. By stroking the right chords and laying down sanguine lyrics, Ciska manages to pull you in fairly easily. It's only through repeated listening that you may find the compelling part Michiel is playing, apart from taking care of the rhythm section.


At times pacing, yet soothing and even a little narcotized, this is music for cruising, home listening and dancing, for making out and romancing.

Vagon Brei, aka Victor Ramos, known for great albums on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and Seattle's Further Records, is back with a full length CD album. LA-based electronic duo OOFJ are elated to announce the release of their sophomore album Acute Feast. The brainchild of real-life couple Jenno Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills-Rymer, the LA-based electronic duo OOFJ met in New York City while Bjørnkjær was working on music for Lars Von Trier's Melancholia.
