We're delighted to be able to welcome Scientific Wax head-honcho Equinox to 7th Storey Recollective, bringing with him three previously unreleased cuts from his 90's archives.

As one of the most respected DJ's and producers in Jungle & Drum n Bass, Equinox needs little introduction to those in the know, with a slew of releases spanning well over 25 years on Brain Records, Paradox Music, Inperspective Records, Bassbin, 8205 Recordings and his own Scientific Wax and off-shoot imprints to name just a few.

To mark Osiris's 60th release, label head Simon Shreeve dons his Mønic guise for a richly saturated three-track EP that pays homage to the label's Drum & Bass origins and Shreeve's own past as Kryptic Minds. From the screaming call-to-action horns of 'Regeneration' on the A-side, to the creeping menace of 'Research Methods' and the Jazz in fuelled beats of 'Always for Tomorrow' on the B-side, a return to the rhythms and textures of D'n'B contrasts Shreeve's recent outings as CUB with Karl O'Connor, solidifies Mønic as his most experimental, genre-defying, and preconception breaking alias.

As a special edition for the 25th release on Balkan Vinyl - six tracks selected from the label's back catalogue - four of them having never before released on vinyl, the remaining two from highly sought after out-of-print releases.

Includes the last ever track released by LFO I Love Acid', Global Goon's acid anthem Craehzrhd' from the very first Balkan release in 2010, and the opener from the late Andreas Gehm 12' on I Love Acid Heaven and Hell'. Luke Vibert, B12, and Plaid round off the EP with tracks that were previously only available as part of a digital download from the label itself (never in shops until now).

Danish duo Lyra Valenza (aka Hjalte and Jens Konrad) operates on the outskirts of contemporary electronic dance music. Armed with a playful approach and a patchwork of digital and analogue equipment, Lyra Valenza carved their own space in the Copenhagen scene by genre-blending Jungle, UK Garage, and Footwork into a mix of forward-facing and euphoric dance music for 2020 and beyond. A testament to the duo's unique approach to sound design, they were selected for this year's SHAPE - a platform for innovative music and audiovisual art from Europe.

Lyra Valenza's latest EP, Nightshade Edition, is a package of sweet and dangerous cuts to the taste of dystopian romance. The prime dance floor material hits with metallic percussion and bursts of fluttering synths tuned with just the right amount of trance. From stepping UKG, to lush digital soundscapes, the four breaks heavy tracks are hyper-modern sonic experiments processed through a retrospective haze.

The Nightshade Edition EP is released on Lyra Valenza's own Petrola 80 label. It follows their 2018 debut EP "Scan Deliver" on UK imprint Opal Tapes and an appearance on this year's Kulør 006 compilation.

Danny Scrilla returns for 2020 with six tracks of varying flavours for Cosmic Bridge. One of the key and foundational artists on the label, his sound is widely appreciated from forest raves to tiny basements alike.

t's early 1992, and we'd just created our first track using nothing more than a 4 track sequencer loaded onto an Amiga plugged into a crude 8-bit sampler. That track was "Rock Ya Body". At that time I worked part time in Rob Haigh's Parliament Music Record shops and had got to know him well. I had no idea the impact that "Rock Ya Body" would have as we played a tape of that first recording to Rob. On the strength of that one track, Rob decided to start up the PM label there and then. We sealed the deal over a few cans of Stella and it wasn't long before we'd written 3 more tracks. The tracks were mastered and recorded in Rob Playford's makeshift studio, who had just started his journey with Moving Shadow. Simon & Mark were now Syko & Mak and the Murda EP became the first release on the PM label. Remastered by Syko and Mike Badger during Lockdown 2020; unearthing and using stems and parts from the original tracks. This EP is where it all started...

The flip features “Who's The Bad Man”, a slightly deeper, yet no less heavyweight junglist workout by Jules Elipse, who previously released the top notch “Dogheart EP” on 7th Storey Projects in 2017.

Pugwash was immersed in the jungle scene since the very beginning. A proper underground legend who ran his own label ID Records to put out his own music written alongside “Probe”. ID Records was a sub-label of “Brain Records” from Bizzy B. Pugwash and Bizzy B wrote a ton of incredible music in the mid nineties and formed the “Dynamic Duo” for releases on Joker. Pugwash has worked on loads of releases over the years and used many pseudonyms like “The Specialist” & “Peter Parker” on labels like “Da Lick” and “Brain Records”.

This short lived label left behind a legacy of 4 seminal releases in ‘93 / ‘94, this being the most sought after one! This is Commodore Amiga Jungle at it finest!
