The combined production powerhouse of Deekline, Ed Solo & Specimen A bring forth 10,000 blowtorches to celebrate the vibe that only music can create alongside the vocals of Jamaican reggae superstar Blackout JA.
If you were lucky enough to witness the burner cans of the original dancehall movement or the vast array of lighters flickering to ‘94 Amens, you know what to expect here. This is upfront jungle with a full canister of gas, one hell of a bouncy bassline and an excellent delivery of lyrical goodness. Blackout JA was certainly a fine choice to voice this beat, riding it effortlessly and requesting you all to “let the music play”.
You’re getting both the club mix and the slightly shorter and perhaps less aggressive original in this fine package from Jungle Cakes. Two for two as they say.

Is this the sound of the future or fragments of the past coming back to haunt us? Is a remix of a classic thirty years after the fact an exercise in hauntology or a time loop closing? When hardcore came bowling out of the UK underground, it was sci-fi postulating rendered on wax, but it also reflected an inescapable reality at street level. Idealist, escapologist music that said as much about decades of inner city pressure as it did about outer space fantasies. A sweet refrain underpinned by a necessary ruffness, the elegant ballet of a break dissected 16 different ways over 16 bars, the protest pulse of the subs carrying the torch from one soundsystem culture to another.
What hardcore successfully struck on was so definably alien it set a new paradigm which has been cast back and forth in dialogue ever since. Whole scenes have risen and receded around these principles, and the constant remains – masses of bass carrying angular rhythms, unnerving echo chambers of disembodied voices and moments of staggering beauty and masterful ugliness. These principles have a universal appeal that burns bright generation to generation, never seemingly diminishing but rather fortifying with time. Sometimes a surge of inspiration finds the principles reinterpreted in head-spinning new ways, but the ethic remains the same.
Those shaky, intrepid years of lo-fi samplers and narrow band broadcasts were defined by their lack of definition. Take a punt on a rare groove lick and work out how to get the low end louder. Then everything got organised – in the face of mass appeal scenes started splintering and preferences catered to. It may not have been a force for unity, but it engendered more intensive investigation. Years of scenes, styles, subgenres, niches, furrows, corridors, avenues, detours, each more hyper-specific than the last. Eventually though, everything breaks down so much it all becomes one mass again – a constant cross-contamination between these intensely cultivated strains, creating ever more potent hybrids that simply feed back into the temporal swirl.

Still transmitting from Lockdown in the UK. Banoffee Pies Records 14th release in the original series comes from London based ANGEL D'LITE. A deep passion for rave and NRG with an established high-octane approach to music, heavily influenced by hardcore and early pop bangers, her debut EP further reflecting this mood. Three heavy club tracks and a broken beat dubbed remix from JAY to round things off.
The A side is laced with harmonic 90's vocals and euphoric trance synth lines with two versions of "CRYSTALZ". The original, heavily packed with punching drum patterns and UK hardcore builds, followed neatly by the "DIAMANTÈ MIX". A nostalgic UK Garage take with building pads and rolling hats, partnered by murmuring emotional vocals. Perfect late night club fodder.
The B side flips the mood with "DANCE LIKE DOLPHIN" - the original version setting the tone for early AM adventures. Junglists, sonic communications and club lazers setting in throughout the growing euphoric 90's blends, aquatic frequencies and swirling sub bass. The remix from JAY, another London based producer, follows with an energy shift to a more minimal and rough edged depth of textures and colour, with splatters of surprise elements throughout. Everyone has a crystal and dolphin side right? Love core music from BP xx

Rudimentary debuts for Itoa and Crypticz as they combine to producer a solid 4 track dub, techno, footwork, ghetto
inspired drum n bass 12”.
Alex Godoy (Itoa) and Jordan Parsons (Crypticz) couldn’t help but cross paths as both their musical influences encapsulate the continuous blur between Dubstep, Drum n Bass and footwork with Dub being the keystone to their musical arch.
Crypticz was sucked into the vortex of the uniquely punch sounds that Itoa had put out and was itching to find out more. At the same time he was pushing the foundations of his on sound, which has Dub.
Jordan (Crypticz) found himself wanting after toying with a few ideas which fell into line with a more dancehall sensibility. He felt the ideas he had, needed something else. He was struggling to put his finger on exactly what was missing, then... enter Itoa’s ‘French Cola and “Peng” releases.
Bingo! Jordans finger was now pointed at Alex’s (Itoa) irresistibly joyous drum patterns, and thought... “This guy”, with the happy egg face as a facebook profile, is the man to unlock this business. The pair hooked up and from there worked on the 31 Recordings “MTD” release for Doc Scott.
After their work together on that beast of a record they wanted to get back to it! Email tennis and facebook chats occurred for some time all the while passing bits and pieces back and fourth. Each time asking questions and encouraging the process for one another.
Street Drinker was the starting point with Alex leaving it open and sparse for Jordan to roll in with percussion. Dub techniques were leaned on to add a techno, dubstep feel to Valis.
An instructional dance video was the inspirational magic dust added to the already grounded baseline and obnoxious claps in “How it’s Done”.
Jordan admits watching too much Adventure Time was the catalyst for the humour concept of this piece. So... ’come ons', 'shake it' and '1,2,3,4' were sampled from various work out videos and the arrangement tidied up from there.
Manatata wraps the release up with a dubby roller with erupts with texture and intricate drum patterns and driving
kick.

You know we are in for a treat when Luke Vibert, exponent of electronic beats and breaks since the dawn of rave, delivers not one, not two, but three new album projects, each with a specific musical theme and thread. A set of three long players, collect them all like bubble gum stickers and annoy your neighbours by playing at high volume!
Vibert’s previous album projects for Hypercolour, both as Kerrier District, and under his own name, have always excelled, not to mention his groundbreaking and brain scrambling long players for Warp, Rephlex, Rising High Records, Planet Mu and Ninja Tune.
Vibert revives his Amen Andrews moniker after over a decade lying dormant. Squarely aiming the sound at the ‘Amen break’, ‘Luke Vibert presents Amen Andrews’ brings together 14 slabs of raucous breakbeat bangers, riddled with cool as fuck samples and bass bin shattering sub!

Bournemouth-UK based Record Label focusing on the darker roots breaks side of Jungle and Drum & Bass Music.
The Rotation Audio Record Label has been founded through love and dedication to electronic music. Rotation will aim to showcase some of the rawest, well known and underground talent, in the Drum & Bass and Jungle scene with forthcoming releases from the likes of DJinn, Mono, & Overlook, focussing on the darker roots breaks side of the music. Our first release brings you two massive names in the game right now - Sicknote and Drum Cypha.
Sicknote's 'Someday' creates an emotional journey through high defined musical gestures portraying life's cycle until you eventually reach the light. Rolling drum breaks throughout the track build a progressive movement until the bassline and vocal takes hold on the drop. A belter in the form of a beauty of a track from the man like Sicknote.
Drum Cypha's 'Centaurs' is another hard hitting track. Atmospheric sustained melodies lead to rolling crunchy amens that pave way to a breakdown where the second drop lifts off and hits you right in the face. The track has a Sci Wax feel about it and is a serious club banger bound to get the crowd rolling. Amen smasher from the main man Drum Cypha.

Diffrent Music is proud to welcome Type - the UK junglist and MPC jedi master behind the Tube Digga YouTube channel - to the SweetBox family.
On the A-side, a classic flavour meets a classic sound. ‘Cola Cubes’ is ruffneck jungle business of the highest order; all overdriven, high-octane choppage and gully b-line action that’s guaranteed to cause untold damage in any set.
On the flip, ‘Vibration’ sees Type in murky steppa mode. Leading in with the signature psychedelic time-stretching of the Akai S950, this one delivers the kind of overwhelming bass weight that’ll have your chest rattling into next week.

Red Vinyl
Originally released as the A-side of The Psychology EP on Another Planet Records, with the B-side by a group called Dimension. But due to not being able to locate any of the members of Dimension for over a year, the decision was made to just release the A-side of this amazing EP and add the 1992 remix of ‘Free Your Mind’ that came out the following year on Another Planet. Since the release of this record though, Dimension have made contact with Vinyl Fanatiks and their tracks will also soon be set for releasing.
‘Free Your Mind’ is the hardcore purist’s favourite tune and light years ahead of the rest when it was originally released in 1991, 29 years ago! We at Vinyl Fanatiks are super excited to let you hear these 4 tracks together on one piece of vinyl for the first time.
Released in a Vinyl Fanatiks housebag on 180 gram heavyweight RED vinyl.

Rua debutant Arcane arrives with a 4 track EP of jungle infused, bass driven goodness high on melodic content and drum intricacy. Premiered on Sherelle's BBCR1 show (31 Aug).
Title track – Labyrinth - hits that jungle funny bone from the outset, with ripplingly programmed drum flushes knitting together chimes, pads and chord progressions, all on top of 808s. For fans of Good Looking Records and Sully's modern output.
"Planet X", a collab with Samurai Breaks, provides dancefloor energy as old school jungle staples meet modern production manoeuvres. The pace here is unrelenting, the bass full frontal, and the energy undeniably soundsystem centred, while maintain the melodic signatures that tie the EP together,
"Voyages" harks back to earlier Rua Sound adventures - a collage of genres, infectious halfsteppin' beat, deep subs & refined dancefloor pressure. What feels in the early stages like a beat tape track gradually builds into a dubby, bass-driven half-stepper for the beat heads.
"Temples" moves in a more drumfunk direction. A lurking low end underpins a furious drum workout, twisting and turning through several chapters. Arcane truly showing the flexibility of his production standard here, as well as his ability to merge old & new. Fire!

Just Another Label and Kniteforce go back a long way, having worked with each other since 1993 and always having remained on excellent terms. So it was natural that when it came to repressing this epic label, we would work together again! We are releasing both remasters and unreleased material from JAL. Here we have 3 brilliant and previously unreleased tracks from Sunshine Production. Perfectly preserved on DAT and sounding exactly like the years they were made, these 3 tracks are unmissable slices of history….
