Santa Maria was released on 20th Century Recordings, but this breakbeat version has hugely benefitted from a good remaster! The other three tracks have never been available on vinyl before now, and all were sourced from DAT and lovingly remastered to make this latest Remix Records release a guaranteed classic .

Lazarus recordings is a new label from Kniteforce and KFA long time collaborator and super fan Dj Deluxe. Working with talent new and old he has taken the tried and tested old skool formulas, shaken them up, given them a modern day edge with both sound and production, and unleashed them on the unsuspecting world! The result is an EP that stays firmly old skool in attitude and aesthetic, but is brave enough to step into the future and declare “We are here, hear us!”

This is a beautifully remastered, remixed and reimagined repress of the final full Hyper On Experience EP. The original Moving Shadow version of this release featured four superb tracks that have become timeless classics over the years. Here, they have been lovingly remastered and in this particular case, we have not added a remix and lost a track, because all 4 original tracks are perfect.

The EP « Le Point 16 » follows the logical evolution of the leading 90’s genres in the UK spectrum of electronic music, influenced by ethereal melodic chords and raw rhythms, and confirms that House and Jungle are not that distant from each other.

Title of the EP is influenced by auto racing, more specifically the 24 hours of Le Mans, this legendary car race that Roy Vision’s father won exactly 40 years ago.

An AKO favourite Specialist X returns to AKO10 after the debut release which kicked off the series. Comes with two amazing tracks that will not leave you disappointed.

This double 10" vinyl features some absolutely enormous remixes that are not to be missed! Hamilton (Dj Ham) steps up to the plate and delivers a blisteringly dark remix of an already dark tune. Tough and rough, this one has a bassline that shakes the speakers to death and is built to last in his customary RAM records style.
Abyss gives us a glorious old skool drum and bass remix, in line with the 1994 sound, full on amen cuts, heavy sines and deep atmospherics.
Lowercase and Psycangle move the whole track into early 90's Ruffneck Records / Malice territory, with a furious old skool gabber remix, hard as nails and noisy as hell.
But perhaps the best is saved for last, because Sunny & Deck Hussy do the near impossible and take a dark tune and flip it on its head, making it euphoric and deep without losing the essential character of the original.

Hooversound have steadily been growing since they dropped their debut release from Hyroglifics and Sinistarr back in March. SHERELLE and NAINA haven’t let 2020 interfere with their plans to continue to share gems the label have been sitting on for a while. Since then, the Hoover duo have followed up in June to deliver a powerful EP from Deft, alongside releasing an experimental dubstep record from emerging producer HØST back at the end of August, which included a rowdy re-work from Om Unit. Next up on unstoppable Hooversound, the ladies have combined two of their favourite artists on a split EP, bringing together two individual tracks from Private Caller and Mani Festo for the first time on one four track project, on “Hooversound Presents”.

Hailing from the Midlands, Nottingham based DJ and producer Private Caller has turned a lot of heads recently. He takes his inspiration from Jungle, Grime, Hardcore and heavy Techno. Known for the way he uses old Jungle Breaks and 90’s Rave music, Private Caller brings a new and refreshing take on underground Dance, which has led him to work with Tumble Audio, One Puf and Hardcore Energy to name a few. Enter Mani Festo, a producer and DJ based in London, with roots deep in Hardcore and Jungle and has had ongoing support and plays from several established radio DJs here in the UK. Mani Festo is known for his heavyweight breakbeat sound and his collective/ label (alongside Denham Audio, Borai, LMajor) ‘Club Glow’, who have been making a lot of noise this year with their resurgence of rave and breakbeat crossovers alongside captivating visuals. The
roducer hasn’t gone unnoticed having released on iconic labels such as Rupture, E-Beamz, Warehouse Rave and Swamp 81.

What makes HOO04 so unique, is the combination of both these artists on one project. Both Mani Festo and Private Caller deliver their signature styles on their individual tracks, making the entire project an explosive yet nostalgic blend of breaks and rave. Each track is a standalone anthem, but together, the four tracks combined are a nostalgic acid trip, that belongs in any club or radio set. Having already had support from LCY, NAINA, and Nastia, it also gained a lot of attention in SHERELLES recent Dekmantel mix.

Wislov’s new EP is incredible. And it is already one of the favourite releases in the history of the labels, receiving praise from all around. It is that good. It is slower than the usual KB output, hence the EP name, but it is a perfect 1991/1992 EP of rock solid BIG tunes. I honestly believe if this had been released in those early years, it would have sold in huge numbers and been one of THE anthems of that era. All 4 tunes are perfectly executed in Wislovs authentic style, and the EP is simply brilliant. From the huge vocal high of “Mr Rave…Noyz” to the hard edged techno styled “They Are Mutants” each track brings the authentic feel of early rave back to life!

“‘Jack it Operator’ comes with the incredible Fracture remix. This all came about because I went to Jungle Jam at The Cause in Tottenham just before Christmas last year. John Foul Play was spinning and dropped my recent release on Sub System; “X Amount of Dubs”. I was also lucky enough to have my old Kemet classic ‘The Box Reopens’ given a rinse by Uncle Dugs, so I was buzzing. Not only that but Kenny Ken played an amazing set with a slew of jungle rollers followed by an epic back to back between Fracture and Sherelle.

Brian is back behind the controls for another slammin’ release via Jungle Cakes. He’s linked up with Yemi Bolatiwa and Ricky Tuff for a full on combination of summertime vibes for these two tracks which have the label's roots fully implanted in their DNA.

Debut 12" release from Bulu & Etch's new label BTG

Created as a means to explore styles and sonic territories they may not explore through their own avenues, BTG was set up as a means for complete creative freedom not restricted to tempo style or dancefloor formularity.

The first release, an extension of Etch & Bulu's Radar Radio selections which can range anywhere from Hip-Hop to Psychedelic Rock and Jungle to Dubstep.

Yo Yo Riddim by Etch was conceived whilst Etch was logging death certificates on prescription codeine, "big up Dr. Bidwell". Then thrown into unidentified territory by Turkish space wizard - Gantz, who transforms this track into a churching gutteral beast.

On the flipside, we have an original from one of the greatest young minds in DnB & Jungle right now, Ilk. His constantly recognisable razor sharp production are at the forefront in this track - Yes, Ruff!, with an equally jarring remix from FrenchAstrophonica & 31 Records alumni, Moresounds, which builds and builds until it explodes.

Next we come on to Jimmy... if you go back to early 90’s there were a bunch of ‘name tracks’ in jungle; Johnny Jungle, Scottie and of course Ricky! R-I-C-K-Y!!!” Missing had been keen to bring back the names! I mean, who can forget their favourite ‘name’ track? Any time you hear that name said or shouted down the street you automatically started reciting that tune in your head. But the list of names was short, another one was needed, homage had to be paid, and a fresh name added to the exclusive collective."

DJH was 15 when he wrote his first EP back in 1993. That EP became a near mythic release within the hardcore vinyl collecting circles with a price tag of over £700 on Discogs! Vinyl Fanatiks tracked down Danny and organised its re-release back in 2019, with the release selling out rapidly.

* The original sister label to Ram Records from the old Ram HQ studio in Essex, Liftin Spirit Records now celebrates its 25th year with a special ‘RELOADED’ limited vinyl series of remastered classics, alongside rare and previously unreleased tracks since the beginning in1992.

* DATs from artists such as Andy C, Ant Miles, Shimon, Joint Venture, Interrogator and Red One have been located in the archives. Also from the Ram & Liftin HQ came tracks for the Deep Seven label in 1993 and all these rare DAT masters have been located and now re-cut by Simon, the original Ram & Liftin vinyl masterer at ‘The Exchange’. Initially, Deep Seven remasters will present on a printed white label and unreleased tracks will have a black label.

* The 8th release on Deep Seven brought with it a new artist to the label in the form of ‘Aeon Flux’. An alias of Nigel Broad who had previously produced tracks under the artist name ‘Release’ in 1992. His Hardcore cuts such as ‘The Spirit of Space’ EP and Dance in Eden/Passion are now seminal classics and this release is no different. Remastered from the original DAT and presented on 180g heavy weight vinyl with the extra and longer mix of Reality that was not previously included on the original 12”

The name High Contrast needs no introduction any more…the Welsh wonder has smashed his way through the D+B scene and has become one of its iconic and much respected heroes.!

Welsh-born electronic musician, producer, DJ and remixer Lincoln Barrett AKA High Contrast is the master of melodic, melancholic jungle: hardcore with a harmonic core. He has been picked up by renowned publications such as Line of Best Fit, NME, DJ Mag and Clash Magazine.nHe received a Grammy nomination earlier this year for his remix of Jorja Smith’s ‘The One’ and has played old out shows in London including Electric Brixton, Electric Ballroom Camden and London Heaven. very noticable in these tracks driven by 4/4 beats n thumbing basslines 2 shake the dancefloor.

A. Breakage 5 -This track produced by Noise Factory in 1993 has reggae samples plus the speeded up
vocals. Some banging drum pattern with nice piano stabs n thumping basslines.

AA. Ladies Choice - This track produced by Noise Factory has some heavy basslines sitting between the
crossovers of the house n rnb samples. A proppa ladies choon back then n got the place poppin.

AAA. Wheel Up - Produced back in 1993 by Noise Factory with its rolling drum patterns riding the hip
hop n reggae samples. Along with the speeded up vocals n that strong jungle feel n wicked basslines.

The 12" EP A Momentary Convergence of Differently Paced Trajectories is a heterogenous dj-oriented release, prelude and companion of Maurizio Ravalico's first solo percussion album Nobody's Husband, Nobody's Dad, released in November 2018 with the Funkiwala label. It comes in 180gms vinyl on a hand-numbered run of 300 individually screen-printed 320gsm brown card sleeves.

THE MUSIC

Side A opens with a full-size batucada version of Fear of Mapping, one of the tracks from No Fiction Now!, the 2013 debut album of Maurizio's trio Fiium Shaarrk.

It is followed by a personal take on one of Collocutor's second album tracks, Here to There to Everywhere, arranged here as a spacey 5/4 drum'n'bass epic.

Side B contains an old-school jungle remix of Just Bring Your Toys, one of the tracks from Maurizio's forthcoming album, by the Italian d'n'b veteran Enjoy (Omni Music, Bustle Beats). The EP closes with an edited version of the same track: a taste of the album.

Despite being both loosely presented as remixes, neither of the two arrangements on side A makes use of samples from the respective releases, and any material not progammed or played anew by Maurizio comes from either unreleased off-cuts or preliminary demos.

Italian-born visionary cross-genres percussionist Maurizio Ravalico has been one notably eclectic presence in the London music scene since his arrival in the UK, in 1991.

Regularily seen on stage and on releases with the like of Jamiroquai and the James Taylor Quartet throughout the nineties, as well as with virtually every salsa and Cuban-oriented projects to originate from London in the same period, he has subsequently collaborated on many of the projects of the experimental music label Not applicable (Icarus, Isambard Khroustaliov, Alex Bonney, Tom Arthurs) since 2005, and is now an established name in both the London and Berlin improv and experimental scene, having played with John Edwards, Oren Marshall, Steve Beresford, Pat Thomas, Frank Paul Schubert and many others.

Maurizio Ravalico's peculiar approach to percussion is one of the distinctive traits of Tamar Osborn's modal jazz 5-piece band Collocutor (On the Corner records) and of the pan-European trio Fiium Shaarrk (on BBC3 Late Junction's 12 Best Albums of 2017). Maurizio Ravalico also collaborates with the string quartet Phaedra Ensemble, the composer Fred Thomas and the French contemporary dance company Silenda.

On initial release, this EP was overshadowed by the two released on either side of it – how could it not be? Both The Journey and Gotta Believe were huge anthems all over the rave scene. But time has shown that this excellent EP deserves a second chance – both tunes are wicked glimpses of a bygone era, yet both stand proud in the history of hardcore, and now they have been beautifully remastered and rereleased!

Jonny L ‘The Remixes ‘96-‘97 - a compilation of remixes from Carl Craig, Grooverider and Photek. These remixes of drum & bass legend Jonny L are little known gems that were originally released in 1996 and 1997 when each of the artists were arguably at the height of their powers. It is the first ever reissue of these tracks. Remastered and sounding amazing!

Ant To Be had proved his skill time and time again with a run of straight up excellence on Knitebreed Records. He has also slowly and surely walked towards the darker, and more jungle techno oriented sound. The second release on Amen Brother sees the return of another old school legend that only released one EP and vanished for the next 28 years! Lee X-Plode put out a self-funded EP in 1992 on a white label that became highly sort after in the vinyl collecting world, with copies changing hands for up to £250! Vinyl Fanatiks were lucky enough to be blessed with his permission to re-release this EP, which flew off the shelves.
