A limited edition white vinyl repress of some of the major classic tracks from the legendary old skool artist, Sublove. With a technical skill and production level way above the usual for the early 90s, this selection of tracks is epic in every sense!

The follow up release to last years Times & Places Volume 1, which sold out in super quick time has the same four artists, each bringing their own style of old skool rave goodness to the table.
Gridzone gets us off and running with beautiful pads and an oh so familiar soothing female vocal sample. But don’t let this fool you, the harsh amens are just round the corner and when they drop, you will know about it.
Midlife Crisis has similar energy levels in their offering, the breaks are more chopped and more in a jungle vein.
On the flip is the highlight of this EP. NewKiller drops a jungle-techno stormer. 4/4 kicks with high speed breaks, hoover sounds and horror film samples. Its like 1993 all over again. Finally the EP ends with a ragga tinged rudeboy of a stepper from Gold Soundz.

The dark lord of the dance returns to Sneaker with the 'No Favours' EP, another ominous set of non-conformist shellers rough-cut from obsidian and set in steel.

We first broadcast our love of Christoph de Babalon's distinctively destructive, hard-boiled hardcore via the Evident Ware compilation back in 2020, but a longer release has been an ambition of ours ever since. From his early years on Digital Hardcore through his prolific return in the 2010s across a broad tapestry of underground operators, de Babalon has left a fascinating trail of albums, EPs and scattershot tracks behind him that feed into the cult fervour around his music.

As this EP demonstrates in reliably gritty fashion, the magic in the German producer's music lies in his ability to take the tropes of jungle and hardcore and subvert them through signal chains which owe more to noise and industrial than dance music. The structure of his tracks is equally maverick, pushing and pulling according to its own whims rather than following the dancer-centric energetic flow of a standard club record. Somewhere in this alchemy between classic ingredients and confrontational experimentation, he evokes the original chaotic spirit of hardcore when it seemed anything was possible within the music.

'For Nothing' is the perfect example — a tunnelling odyssey of ferrous atmospheres, roundhouse drums and bass bloated into the red on a force-fed diet of saturation. 'Total Deceit' turns up the pressure on the break chopping science de Babalon is capable of, teasing gamelan flurries and elegiac swirls that hit at the emotional depth he can wrench amidst such bludgeoning material. 'Jaded Memory' funnels Mentasm bass into a strange new form amidst staggering, tightly clipped drumfunk, leaving enough space for haunting ballroom reveries stretching out across the mid-section. That leaves it to 'Dearth Mill' to mop up with gloriously creepy detuned piano notes slopping over each other in between the most ferocious blasts of drums on the whole record.

You didn't expect something straight-forward, did you?

This is a repress of a highly collectable record that was originally released on A Guy Called Gerald’s Juicebox label in 1993. Over the years it increased in value, making it a holy grail within the hardcore rave/early jungle collector’s market.

But luckily Vinyl Fanatiks were already working with the producers on another repress – to be precise the SDR & Subsonic release of ‘Ideology/Abstrax’ which came out last year on the label. Both records were recorded by the same producers in the same year, under two different artist names.

Digital Pressure was an alias they created for Gerald, whilst the bulk of their output came out on their own label Shoebox.

A limited repress of 350 units on 180g heavyweight vinyl. Mastered by Dapz at Compound Audio and cut onto vinyl by the legend Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven, who is very knowledgeable about this sound as he was in the early 90’s groups The Genesis Project/Intense.

'I was honoured to be asked to remix Dance Factor for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Roy AKA Ellis Dee was the first person in the Rave scene I met and he made the time to encourage me and believe in me and he became one of the most important DJs in the scene. Secondly, it was literally my first ever remix out of about 100. It’s a bit crazy, but back then, things were pretty crazy. I even had hair!'

Bristol-basedOwen Brown aka Clarity has rapidly become one of the leading names to watch in the progression of Drum and Bass music. Having stumbled upon drum n bass music at the age of 14, within two years Clarity managed to write music that was immediately supported by top names like dBridge, Doc Scott, Loxy, Jubei, Skeptical and Grooverider. Inevitable signings to respected labels followed swiftly with imprints such as Med School, Samurai Music, Cylon, Horizons, and dBridges' mighty Exit Records label stepping up to launch the Clarity name and sound proudly to the world. Stripping the core elements of Drum and Bass down to a refined, unique groove, his style has become unmistakable.

The Clarity sound is fortified with a structure that binds itself firmly to Techno and propels what you know as Drum and Bass into an entirely different realm with each sound carrying its ultimate weight as a result of this minimal, but focused delivery. Clarity returns after a release hiatus while he lay down the foundations of his debut LP 'Infinite' for Samurai Music. The 'Hell's Gate' EP is his first solo single for Samurai and his first full 12' release since his Exit Records 12'. The title track is also Clarity's first work with an original vocal, and the result is suitably potent. The trademark kicks, off kilter percussion and menacing sonics are topped off with T Man's vocal challenge. 'Engineering' has Overlook back in the studio with Clarity taking the techno influence that permeates both their styles to an intense peak. A fitting entree to Clarity's debut LP 'Infinite', set for release in November 2014

Around the time when Meeting Of The Minds Vol. 7 came out, which had "Togetherness" by me & Eusebeia on it, he sent me some more music for the label, with Awe being one of the tunes he sent. I liked them all but "Awe" was by far my favourite of the bunch and I knew I needed to have that for Future Retro London. When it came down to people I thought would be good for remixing "Awe", Equinox was the first that came to mind. I'm a huge fan of his music, old & new and he had previously done a wicked remix of a tune me & Dwarde had released on the Globex Corp series.

This is a massively awaited repress from the Hectic back catalogue. Ramos & Vinylgroover team up for the first time in this absolute classic from 1994. The A side, Phantasm, is a subliminal slice of that era showing pretty much every sound and trick in their arsenal. Then the flip is a proper slice of darkness in The Beast. No piano or cheery vocal here, just an eerie melody with melancholy samples to keep even the darkest of hardcore raver happy. An absolutely massive EP that is a must for any collector.

On initial release, this EP was overshadowed by the two released on either side of it – how could it not be? Both The Journey and Gotta Believe were huge anthems all over the rave scene. Marco Lazovic shows his jazzy electro side with this new outing on Scruniversal. It's a sixth EP from this label and another one you need to cop. The A-side tune is 'Amour Translanatique' and is one doused in romantic pad work, reverential moods and gentle drums that soothe the mind, body and soul. 'Uslada' is more upbeat but no less deft and silky. This one has lush cosmic chords and wispy melodies peeling off the busy beats which have a whiff of liquid jungle goodness to them. Two high-class cuts for tender dancefloors.

Continuing the theme of bringing through up and coming talent, Western Lore snaps up rising Manchester star, WDDS for his very first vinyl release.

After continuous support for his expertly crafted beats (previously digitally self released and via Repertoire Music) on Dead Man’s Chest’s SWU & Kool FM radio shows, Lore LTD sees the release of a trio of WDDS’ most heavyweight tunes on wax. Spaceship Riddim Jungle Tool is an utter dance floor destroyer. With an instantly recognisable and energy lifting hook and an all out assault of bassline heaven and amenisim to match, this rhythm is guaranteed to make a rave lift off.

Disrupt Records makes its return to the Jungle world with the first of several releases planned for 2023. Kicking off the new year is a killer 4 track EP from Lithuania's hardware don: IJO!

IJO AKA 300 degrees is a veteran producer who's musical output has spanned broadly across the electronic spectrum over the last 30 years. In recent times he has concentrated on the sounds that he says changed his life in the mid 90's: Hardcore Jungle - made the old school way using analogue hardware equipment!

With releases on Amenology and Straight Up Breakbeat he has already began to make waves in the scene. This EP is created using his trusty Akai S1000 sampler and cements his status as one of the producers to watch in 2023, bringing you two tracks of lo fi modern Jungle filled with chopped up breakbeats, effects manipulation, haunting melodies and atmospheric vocal samples.

This release is in true Disrupt style backed with remixes from two certified OG's and absolute legends of the modern Jungle movement.

First up is one of Jungle's pioneers - Equinox! His label Scientific Wax has become the benchmark for hard edge drum work and beat manipulation. Equinox brings us a remix that might surprise a few in its subtlety, starting of on a mellow tip it grows into a monster, full of the intricate drum edits and breakbeat destruction we expect, a beautiful melody and hard hitting beats.

On the flipside we have the Lo Fi don and Green Bay Wax head honcho - Kid Lib! Bringing the fire with an absolute banger featuring dancefloor destroying amens juxtaposed with lush pads, perfectly crafted breakdowns and killer drops.

This release from New Zealand based label “Headwound Recordingz” shows how the UKs influence spread around the world. These tunes sound like they are straight out of the 90s with loads of samples that “tip a hat” to the UK old skool. The massive “Dread Tune” takes samples from mid-nineties Stalone version of Judge Dredd and whips up a frenzy with some serious amens on steroids. 3 absolute belters on this EP that show off the style and production of this very special antipodean label!

Shadow Child & DJ Haus return with Rhythm Force Vol. 2 - a wintery breakbeat fuelled mix of electronica, acid and downtempo jungle. With support in the bag on Vol.1 from Tokimonsta, Bradley Zero, dBridge, pinch ++

Repertoire presents the Thieves EP, marking Modal’s debut vinyl release on the label. This four-track collection features collaborations with Jaise—celebrated for his work with Metalheadz—and Double O of Rupture LDN, bringing together a range of styles that showcase Modal’s artistry.

Opening with the title track, "Thieves" sets a dark, intense tone with a pounding beat that utilises the classic Tighten Up break to great effect. Double O’s remix of "Thieves" brings a heavy amen jungle twist. "Expressions," a collaboration with Jaise, is a halftime, percussive roller driven by huge mid-range bass growls, creating a rich, atmospheric soundscape. "Heads or Tails" brings a more emotive sound, influenced by classic Blue Note styles and blended with a modern, reflective edge.

This EP from The Brothers Grimm is a bona fide classic - but what else would you expect from the legendary combination of two of the best producers in the scene, Dyce and Acen?

Both sides are incredible, but Exodus is the track that really took off to become one of the first jungle anthems. The EP is famous for its clever use of an absolutely killer breakbeat, and a unique vocal that showcased all the best elements of old skool rave and jungle. This is mixed with many audio elements that were brand new back then, but have since become standard in the jungle scene.

Now beautifully remastered from DAT, this is an EP that every collector and raver must have in their collection!

This absolute classic gets a remix from legendary old skool and jungle master, and Infrared owner, the one and only J Majik. Keeping the feel both modern and traditional, J Majik has created a perfect remix of this timeless classic.

Meanwhile, Dj Stephano has stepped his already considerable game up a level, and brought a new depth and perspective to the lesser known, but equally essential track "Field of Dreams".

They have made people wait for their 21st collaboration 12” due to solo-projects, but Seba & Paradox are back with the aptly titled release I’ll Wait.

Ethereal dreamy loops, punchy breaks, alternating bass stabs plus chords and female vocals weave a summer-esque melody of beauty. Something worth waiting for.

On the flipside Seba & Paradox showcase their Good Looking & Reinforced Records apprenticeships with the immersive sounds of Amara. Searing pads and wah-guitars float with chimes over tough breaks. Amara’s breakdown takes you to another level with female vocals and keys of oblivion. Summer bliss.

A Seba & Paradox 12” isn’t complete without the artwork of course, and SP004 is housed in an original canvas art print - hand-picked by Seba & Paradox.

The classic X-Static EP gets the remixes treatment from three huge talents in the scene: When released, Murderous Style was way ahead of its time, and these remixes bring showcase its strengths as both an early jungle track and old skool rave masterpiece.

Danny Styles, one of the original jungle dons, gives us a smooth and deep remix, with lush basslines and rolling breaks. Dj Terrace takes a ruffer approach with a remix that leans into the harder side. Meanwhile, Kniteforce regular Paul Bradley smashed a more stab laden remix of Ready 2 Go, a track that leans more uplifting than jungle but still takes no prisoners!

The X-Static classic "Free" gets a remix work out with this EP. Each remixer brings their own style to the project, making for a diverse and exciting release.

Vinyl Junkie and Sanxion bring a mid 90's feel to their remix, making the older styled track into something that would have mixed with Kniteforce, Hectic and Impact back in the day. Meanwhile, Amaretto brings his classy old skool sound to his remix, with ice clean production and perfect execution. Al Storm and Euphony lean into their Bad Onion sound, a mixture of 1992 vibes and modern production, while Innercore does what only Innercore can do, giving his remix both a classic and brand new sound.

RTR puts a jungle cartridge in this EP, as he did for the Xor album, but this time without compromise and with less restraint: he draws with excellence as his great masters taught him!

As Odysee celebrates its 30th anniversary, the label’s original founder Atila Kemal (T-Mirage) steps up to deliver this jaw-dropping E.P.

In 1994, Tilla was just 17 years old, and an integral part of the original St Albans collective that comprised Jim Baker & Phil Aslett (Source Direct) and Rupert Parkes (Photek), when he set up the Odysee imprint and released the first Source Direct record (Future London/Shimmer). With a follow-up release from Photek (Phaze 1/Try A Style) and a second from Source Direct, the profile of the label began to grow exponentially.

It was the 3 Mirage releases however that really put the label on the map. These tracks were engineered by Jim Baker but heavily co-produced by Tilla himself with a major focus on his keen ear for dark 70’s Noire samples and eerie abstract electronica pitted against soulful R&B vocals. In hindsight, the impact of this rather different soundscape on the Source Direct material that followed is unmistakable.

The A side track Dark Rhodes is a showcase of T-Mirage’s production skillsets. From the opening atmosphere of utter menace and spacious percussion, to the trademark call and response between the different breaks and speaker shaking subs; this track will take the listener straight back to that infamous dark 1995/6 sound that emerged from both the Odysee & Source Direct studios. What is particularly noticeable is the distinctive pairing of sets of samples to form unique sections within the piece, whilst maintaining the consistent rolling energy of the drums & bass. This was a clear stylistic trait the earlier tracks like Feel My Dreams, and is very much on display in Dark Rhodes; leaving us in no doubt that we are listening to the work of one of the OG St Albans Jungle masters!

One of the most important aspects of each Odysee release was to demonstrate versatility on the B side tunes. As a label that was an important part of the mid 90’s Atmospheric scene, it would be remiss not to revisit that style on this seminal E.P. The first of the two B-side tracks is the incredible Existence.

Everything about this piece is a pure distillation of Tilla’s musical style; from the intricacy of the break work and the depth of the subs, to the masterful dovetailing of the 70’s Noire and Jazz samples that build a cohesive arrangement drawing the listener deeper into the tune’s narrative- “A piece of music that’s just a pure expression.... A celebration of existence!” There is no need to re-invent the wheel, or to force groundbreaking new tricks when the strength of this classic sound is so overwhelmingly persuasive!

With the final track Flawless, Tilla delivers an absolute heart-breaker of a tune that rivals the very best of the original Odysee & SD B-sides. Misty-eyed pads and Jazzy rides launch the crisp rolling Think breaks. The deep melodic sub line and haunting guitar riffs draw the listener in, then hold the listener in suspense for a moment before dropping down in the body of the track. The gorgeous guitar motifs are paired with achingly gorgeous vocal ad-libs and avant-garde electronica, emerging orchestral flutters with that unmistakable 70’s Noire flavour. Once again it is

Tilla’s ear for those ‘special sounds’ that really sets this track apart, and as if that wasn’t enough, some 4 minutes down the track Flawless nonchalantly unveils another primary motif; well worthy in of itself of being the tracks centrepiece!
