In 2019, ASC decided it was time to return to the music that he grew up on. With a gentle nudge from Presha, the breakbeats were back in the mix and a slew of mid 90’s-inspired drum & bass ensued. The majority of the heavier break-oriented and edit-ladened were set aside for projects with Samurai, however, there were a grip of tracks that were more at home with the older atmospheric / intelligent styles of drum & bass from the mid 90’s. Ideasthesia is the culmination of that work. Four tracks of atmospheric drum & bass in its most unadulterated form. No drum machines at work here, just sped up breakbeats, heavy 808 bass, blissful pads, and ethereal textures. Ideasthesia is a true love letter to a golden age of music which sadly seems long forgotten.

The next Dispatch Dubplate release sees three producers individually known for their own distinctive sounds, combine for an exceptional addition to the series.

"Clones" and the vinyl exclusive track "Alphas" from Loxy & Resound are joined by the long awaited "Bongo Mania" from Loxy & Skeptical to complete the release.

The 2nd release on Phase Group comes from the mind of young Belgrade-based producer, Andria.

With o o o o o Andria presents four tracks of otherworldly sounds. Music made on mutant technology for apocalyptic rave rituals, showcasing a deep talent in sound design and rhythmic manipulation.

‘Osion’ opens the EP in epic fashion, melancholic and driving dark IDM that introduces us to Andria's sonic world. '6h of Sna' builds up the intensity with some ominous space-age dancehall. Title-track 'o o o o o' is a heady club tool for serious dance floors, inspired no-doubt by countless nights at Belgrade techno-haven Drugstore, where Andria holds a residency. Finally, 'Komina' brings everything back down to a subterranean crawl, the swirling and whispering sounds of unfamiliar technology echoing to you from all sides.

Liquid Drops proudly presents the first vinyl release of AgainstMe called "Inequalities". The A-Side includes original mixes of two melancholic breakbeat tracks and the B side has two amazing DnB Remixes by Syban aka Myselor and label's boss mSdoS. "Inequalities" is a personal and self-discovering trip that came to life during the hard times of the first lockdown in Athens. AgainstMe's vision for these tracks was to release his inner pressure during the quarantine, feel again the vibe of Germany's countryside and dive to the cold sea of Eressos Lesvos Island.

With his first releases as Last Life for Loxy’s Cylon Recordings leaving a mark that propelled him into must-check zone with followers of stripped back, progressive DnB, Mauro Picciau has continued to advance the Last Life sound into a distinctive force.

His recent tracks for Samurai Music compilations - Decade, Samurai Hannya, and Outliers, plus his own LL Series honed the deadly step forward carved out with his Samurai Music debut EP - Nootka in 2017.

London imprint Drifted Records bring the heat with their second solo output in the catalogue. DR002 - Spirals EP, written by Dublin born, Berlin based wiz ‘New Members’, displays a distinct voyage of the beloved 90s era with a modern innovation.

Side A showcases the heavy, rolling drum patterns, airy dub chords and cleverly placed hats that you wanna’ be hearing at 4am on a packed dance floor, with both ‘Spirals’ and ‘Mythos’.

Flipping the record gives us something else entirely. B1 offers a silky, screw-faced stomper ‘No Mind’, which features samples from the great Alan Watts. Followed by a timeless edition to round off this latest instalment, B2 gifts us a gorgeous and percussive Jungle number entitled ‘Secrets’.

Reaching Into My Brain / So Real

Hospital Records dish up their thirteenth serving of the Classic Symptoms series with four nostalgic tracks from their back catalogue from D&B kingpins S.P.Y, Keeno, Nu:Tone and LSB. As we’re sent spiralling back into the 2014-2016 era of drum & bass, you can expect to be met with euphoric melodies, smile-igniting vocals and rich yet understated drum work.
The ‘Dubplate Style’ doctor S.P.Y is first to etch soundwaves into wax with his classic club-cruncher, ‘Step & Flow’. With a phenomenal VIP release on ‘Sick Music 2020’, love for the track has been at an all time high. The original number, first released in 2014, lifts the soul with warm synthy notes and ravey vocal samples which are undercut and propelled forward by deep and nauseatingly ominous chest-rumbling bass.
Classically trained Keeno steps up to the plate next with his heart-warming track ‘Nocturne’. Initially released on Med School in 2013, ‘Nocturne’ is a miracle-making music waterfall that keeps on giving. It’s delicate heartfelt notes overflow with inspiration, good will and energy, delicately put together with love. This one’s bound to rekindle good memories.
First on the flipside we’re hit with ‘Tides’, an all-time classic sing along groover from the one and only Nu:Tone. Originally released on his 2014 album ‘Future History’, this diamond features the soul-drenched vocals from Lea Lea that float over airy pads, stripped-back piano chords and jazzy bass hits and drums.
LSB spins us back to the 2016 Hospitality rave days with ‘If You’re Here (VIP)’, first released on the colossal ‘Hospitality 2016’ compilation album. Driven forward by LSB’s signature drums, playful melodies and angelic vocal samples that echo through the track, this is an extra special, nostalgic moment on the EP, especially as it’s a first time pressing to wax!

Wreckless brings us the next release in the Dispatch Blueprints series, with two tracks exploring the Blueprints formula.

"Honesty" is inspired by old drum and bass production techniques, when artists would use the offboard equipment available to them in the studio, pushed to its limit to inspire creativity. The bass is sampled from Wreckless's own acoustic guitar, the intro made from voice recordings and the majority of the track made from manipulating these recordings.

"The Morning" was written with those late-night / early morning DJ sets 5-6 am in mind - when you leave the club and The Morning hits you. The feeling of the beauty of the crisp morning contrasted with the hardness of the bright cold air of the day is the inspiration behind this track, hard and beautiful.

Lost In Thought’ is the debut album on Shogun Audio by duo Pola & Bryson. With sophistication beyond their young years, this long player is an evolution, taking their music to a new level.

The cinematic soundscape ‘When You Call (Intro)' sets the tone for an extremely mature and accomplished record. The first single from the project is ’24/7’, a blossoming blend of their trademark atmospherics and dance floor energy. With genre spanning support, it’s a round the clock roller.

'Night Dawns’ featuring the luminous vocals of Lauren Archer is another example of the majestic grasp Pola & Bryson have on their production. Coaxing every note out of hibernation, the track blooms into one of the most beautifully cultivated tracks of the year.

Another seamless transition from the smouldering ‘Dusk (Interlude)’ gives life to ‘Dream Days’, a textbook gem with ‘Floodgates’ further certifying their engineering abilities. Tunes like the garage licked ‘Waves’ are a graceful breath of fresh air, ’Stratford Riddim’ draws on animated beats and the down tempo ‘Hades’ ebbs and flows with life. ‘No One But You’ with Brookfield provides rich phonics sat on a subtle piano foundation, glistening with the class which is abundant throughout the LP. The closing track ‘Southbank (Outro)’ is a moving piece which engulfs you with sonic class and is the perfect conclusion, leaving you desperate for more.

We challenge any listener not to become deeply rooted as a part of this record. Like a film score to modern life, this genuinely will leave you ‘Lost In Thought’.

Polish producer Satl steps out of his comfort zone and explores his Dub Techno infuences on his new Lucid Dreams EP: his sophomore release on Amsterdam boutique label The North Quarter.
