Presenting the next chapter for an artist that continues to rise within the drum & bass scene, Monrroe is set to captivate listeners once again with the launch of the groundbreaking 'Ikebana EP' on Shogun Audio. This highly anticipated offering is poised to take listeners on an electrifying journey through soundscapes, showcasing Monrroe's signature style that seamlessly blends emotion and energy across the 140-174 spectrum.

The first offering, 'Tsubaki' featuring grime MC Snowy, is a masterclass in jungle music - demonstrating Monrroe's sonic flair with broken breaks and a booming bassline that is sure to get a system firing.

Next up, a luscious cut from two of London's freshest producers, Ollie Rant and Malaika. Ramos is an artist who needs little introduction. With numerous classics such as The Journey, and Sunshine, under his belt, he is legendary already, and it is a great honour to have him debut his latest EP on Kniteforce. Clean and classic in style, piano led warmth and inventive use of sampling and arrangements, this EP is gorgeous and guaranteed to fill any dance floor!

* Ray Keith is an artist who needs no introduction. It is not hyperbole to say he has been one of the pillars of the old skool, jungle and d’n’b scene since day one.

Samurai Music regular Eusebeia was enlisted early as one of the prime technicians to be part of the Mindgames squad. Seb understood the brief implicitly and swiftly came up with the three tunes that make up MINDGAME 2. From the searing rave-tinged bomb - Way Back When to the soaring sample/beat workout perfection of Future Times, Seb nails the vibe while adding his distinctive touches.

Tá Sempre Pegando Fogo is Rabu Mazda's second album, a long-standing solo project of Leonardo Bindilatti, this time debuting at Discos Extendes.

Leo is part of Cafetra Records, where he maintains an active role in musical creation and production. He was a member of Kimo Ameba, Go Suck A Fuck, Kridinhux, Egg Shell, Rabu Mazda & Van Ayres and is part of Iguanas and Putas Bêbadas.

This multiplicity of experiences and styles is also reflecting the private and intimate multiplicity of this Rabu Mazda that we now finally get to know better. He is ceaselessly a physical soul on fire and, thus, it sets, naturally, fire to this record that he’s sharing with us.

In parallel, if contemporaneity is also a place on fire, his music can be a timely response to this confusion. Even with all the layers that each song contains, they can bring, to anyone who wants, an energetic clarity with regard to being alive and the pleasure that one can find in that condition. Although some kind of contemporary aggressiveness and crudity are a fundamental part of the identity of this work, the tracks push us to give in to the constraints and point us to the impetus of dancing, pulsating inside the body and finding ways to get out.

It seems that this is what Rabu Mazda really wants: to light up the dance and encourage us to catch the glasses and share a wheel of positivism. Given his Brazilian ancestry, he gave his name to this disc with an appropriation of an idiomatic expression, which refers to states of agitation, sexual excitement, or drunkenness - here, as a starting point for a type of imaginary. It becomes curious to see how he uses his music not only as an end, but also as a way to create some sort of happening.

Adds, to the references of Brazilian Funk, Kuduro, Footwork and House, his melodic textures, mostly nostalgic and his rhythmic compositions to deconstruct music that we thought we knew.

A1 - Lunar Sunset

Aural Imbalance returns to Spatial with the first track of the EP opening with a typically dreamy soundscape gently luring us to the skies, an unforgettable melody chimes away as the layers of atmosphere collate. Breakwork skills are on full show as crunchy drumloops give Lunar Sunset some serious rhythm, and just wait until you hear the stunning breakdown highlighting the impact of the mournful padwork which brings the mix together.

A2 - Moonfall

The rulebook goes out of the window early doors for Aural Imbalance here as he opens Moonfall with a clean, tuned pattern of Hot Pants breaks before gradually adding smooth pads & synths and some superb sub bass. We are treated to some delicious ambient workflows later in the track but make no mistake - the breaks are the star of the show here and DJ's will love utilising the energy of the track in sets.

AA1 - Point of Origin

Starting with a punchy selection of brisk, clean-cut Apache breaks, Point of Origin sees Aural Imbalance demonstrating his musical range with a distinct electronic synthesizer style melody and full-bodied aquatic backdrops which echo around the soundscape like playful whales enjoying a vast lagoon. It's another reminder that Spatial is playing host to one of the true talents of atmospheric drum & bass - output like this being both ambient and weighty in harmony.

AA2 - Near-Earth Object

Our finale track is a special one. Opening with a luscious dreamscape of mellowed-out pads and effects, seriously heavy sub bass then takes over to test your speakers before the drop, which sees addictive, detailed analogue breakbeats enrapturing the listener with a thickly detailed drum pattern aimed squarely at the dancefloor. This one is a real mover and continues Aural Imbalance's impressive divergence of styles on Spatial.

Released on Friday November 25th, these compilations follow Heavenly Remixes Volume 1 & 2 and Heavenly Remixes Volumes 3 & 4 (Andrew Weatherall Remixes).

Since the first Heavenly recording, there have been striking remixes that reframe the original track. Way back in 1993, Suburban Base Records launched the Sub Plates series, a homage to the dubplate culture of early jungle music, it was even released in the 10” vinyl format to reflect the acetate plates DJ’s were playing.

Now in 2022 the way we consume music has evolved, DJ’s are no longer playing the 10” dubs, and the average vinyl buyer is a collector and connoisseur of great music. This iteration of the Subplates series reflects this change. Aimed squarely at the vinyl collectors Subplates Vol 6 is presented as a stunning double-sided picture disc.

Incredible art direction has long been a hallmark of Suburban Base and this release definitely delivers with one of the most stunning looking releases ever from the label. Instantly recognisable as SubBase with the cool graffiti/street art style mural and including the labels original & iconic SB logo within the design.

There’s more to this release than just an eye-catching design though… Imprinted into the grooves of this collectible limited edition vinyl are 4 brand new tracks from some of the labels most recognised artists!

Gremlinz & Jesta present their long-awaited debut album on Metalheadz.

Although the music itself spans only the last few years, it would be sufficient to say that this album is the culmination of almost 2 decades of work. So much history in one project, this is without doubt Gremlinz & Jesta’s biggest and finest triumph.

First meeting as teenagers in the multicultural streets of Toronto, the duo were both already well exposed to the world of raving and jungle music in particular. It wasn’t until years later however, following Jesta’s slight hiatus, that they would hook back up and form what would eventually become an alias at the very heart of Metalheadz.

Their first appearance on the label as Gremlinz & Jesta wouldn’t come until 2018 but it wasn’t long before talk of an album gathered pace. Prior to then they had been meeting at a staple Chinese restaurant, Lee Garden, in downtown Toronto where they would discuss not only music and writing ideas but also life. The spot became a permanent fixture in their calendar and following its closure in 2017, the pair affectionately became known as ‘The Lee Garden Historical Preservation Society’ as a way to keep those special days alive. It’s from that fondly remembered and much missed period in their lives that the album justly takes its name.

The music itself is prime rufige throughout, opening with the desolate wasteland that is ‘The Lost’ before hurtling into headline tracks such as the ravenous ‘Destro’ and the pitch-black setting of ‘Ice Squirrels’.

Inspired by 90s trip-hop, ‘Vermin’ is the only piece to include a vocalist in Ukrainian born flowanastasia, with her haunting rendition being a standout feature on the album, Further musical influences are found in ‘Andromeda’ where the black jazz inspiration is strong, and ‘Into Void’ which expertly realigns the vibes of an early 2000s stepper. Refusing to compromise on quality at any point ‘The Scarlet Gospels’ is another offering that sees the duo experiment with themes of horror, with plenty more to discover across the 13 tracks.

As the album progresses Gremlinz & Jesta’s intentions are clear. They always set out to create a journey, one with both ups and downs, from feeling lost at the outset to covering rage and peace and then back to fury and serenity. An album for the ages and one we’re proud to house on Metalheadz.

Mindgames is a new Samurai Music affiliated label aiming to capture the essence of the sound that magnetised label head Presha into Jungle/Drum and Bass in the mid 90’s. Experiencing this musical development as it happened lit a flame of passion and drive that forged a focused musical path that continues unabated today.

94/95 were pivotal years for Jungle with new approaches to production and musical shades that shaped how the music progressed. Light and Dark musical hues were working side by side more frequently in these years as the music found its way, and Mindgames will reflect this.

With the resurgence of artists absorbing this sound and creating updated versions with added production finesse, Mindgames mission is to enlist current-day producers who have successfully captured and reimagined the vibe and feel of these years into new forms that underline the foundation of our sound.

Alix Perez presents his 2nd 2-track release of the year in the form of the dark and 'CRL' - a deep, dark, and moody stepper that has been heavily featured in his sets for the past 12 months. Completing the package and another track that has featured in the label head honchos set is his rework of 'Lunar Eclipse' by Visages and Strategy. This remix has been a highly sought-after dub since the original release and now makes it out into the world.

DJ Sofa has been growing to be one of the greats in the new jungle scene over the past few years, working with some of the great people like Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Coco Bryce, and being played by almost every DJ on every party including Sully, Double O and too many others to count.
I myself have been working lots with her as well on collaborative tunes, so it was only a matter of time and the obvious choice to have her do a solo EP on the label.

A 4 choice cut of melodic, melancholic & ruff hardcore jungle selections sure to make the dancefloor nice but also for the home listeners looking to vibe out.
