* In 1994, Shimon made his first appearance in the Ram studio to create two tracks alongside Ant Miles. With additional production from Andy C, and the vocal sampled from the film ‘Predator’, Shimon’s debut track soon fell into place. Highlighting the usual precision tooled breaks, synonymous with the emerging Ram style, Ant Miles’s reversed bass line and stereo oscillating effects had an immediate impact on dancefloors throughout the UK, cementing Shimon as an artist to watch out for in the future. For the flipside to Predator, Ant Miles and Shimon went on a roller jungle vibe with haunting pads and slow time stretched vocals, creating a hypnotic trance state perfectly complimenting the A side.

* Dillinja joins the legends series with two previously unreleased gems from the mid and late 90s. Very different in style, but both unmistakably crafted by one of the genres true bass scientists.
* ‘Selassie I Sound’ is from 94/95 and is one of those tracks that jungle detectives have been after for years! Cropping up in many live set recordings from that era – we’re really excited to have dusted off the DAT for this one and to be able to present it to you as part of this series.
* ‘Valve Sound VIP’ as a special DJ edit of the huge track taken from Dillinja’s 2001 album Cybertron on FFFR. Most likely to have been recorded sometime in 1999 this alternate mix of a classic packs a punch and gives a fresh twist on a well loved anthem.
* As part of the legendary Valve Soundsystem alongside Lemon D, Dillinja is responsible for some of the genres most seminal moments on labels like V, Philly Blunt, Metalheadz and his own Valve imprint. On V alone tracks like ‘Unexplored Terrain’ ‘Chapter 19’ & ‘Grimey’ have secured his place in the D&B hall of fame and mean the status of ‘Legend’ is richly deserved!

Dom (and his Roland s760 sampler) was once described by seminal magazine NME as the “Ridley Scott” of drum and bass. His epic early records helped form the blueprint of the scene today.
Originally releasing on No-U-Turn in 1994 and credited as one of architects of “Tech-step”. Dom was signed by the legendary Moving Shadow label in 1996 where he released 3 solo albums and a plethora of singles becoming their most prolific and influential artist in the history of the label.
Well known for his early alliances with school friends “Optical” and “Matrix”, Dom started his own label DRP (Dom & Roland Productions) in 2006 to collaborate with like-minded artists. Now 15 years in with an enviable roster from “Noisia” to “Amon Tobin” it is now the main home of Dom’s work.
Lost in the Moment is Doms 7th Album. In his own words “I wanted to make an album that gets back to the core of the elements I love about drum and bass. The timelessness of simple tracks! A sense of being lost in the subtlety of evolving soundscapes, rhythms and loops which hint at more complex detail and emotions. These are the things I find harder to find in this era of instant gratification and easily consumable music.”
Dom’s previous album Last refuge of a Scoundrel was signed to Metalheadz in 2016. It sold out on its first day. Mixmag gave it 10/10 and named it album of the year. It was runner up in DJ Magazines “Best of British” category across all genres.

Suburban Bases favourite duo Krome & Time rare DAT studio masters saved!
Krome & Time provided the very first Suburban Base release that launched the now legendary label, under the alias Kromozone catalogue number SUBBASE 001 set the tone for the label that became and integral part of the development of Rave and Breakbeat Hardcore into Jungle and Drum & Bass!
So who better to kick off the relaunch of such a revered brand than the legendary duo that started it all KROME & TIME! With brand new sleeve design from original SubBase illustrator Dave Nodz!
Having accessed a long forgotten storge facility and discovered a treasure trove of Suburban Base master tapes, we struck gold when we found box after box of unreleased and exclusive master recordings from some of the biggest artists within the SubBase family.
The two exclusive tracks that make up this release were huge dubplate only specials and have never been released as vinyl singles or digitally. Finding the master copy of the once thought lost 'Original Juggling' was incredible, the song is much asked after and as an album exclusive on the 1995 Telepathy Dub Plate Special was never given a full release only appearing on that project.
‘Non-Stop Rocking’ was a 1995 dubplate recorded specifically as an album exclusive for the legendary Drum & Bass selection album project and stayed exclusively on dubplate receiving extensive club and radio play whilst remaining only available within D&B selection.
These sought-after tracks remained stuff of legend never having had a digital release or full vinyl release… until now! From the original master tapes of Suburban Base we present this slamming 12inch from Krome & Time

* For their follow up to the anthemic ‘Valley of the Shadows’ two years earlier, Ant Miles and Andy C went back in the studio under their guise ‘Origin Unknown’. Firmly under the Jungle style of attack, Ant pushed the envelope and broke the mould on bass sounds, creating the first detuned wobble oscillating sine bass line. This bass effect would inspire other producers to emulate. With the famous vocal from President Nixon on the moon landing, ‘For one priceless moment, all the people on this Earth are truly one’, this track is one of the most cherished and globally appreciated tracks on the Ram roster to this day. For the B side, Andy C and Ant went on a haunting roller vibe complimenting the A side but retaining the space theme. The track features the Houston vocal ‘Mission control’ over the chopped up ‘Hot Pants’ drum break, starting and rewinding hit points to great effect.
In 1995, Shimon had purchased and set up his own studio around the corner in Hornchurch, and one evening went into a zone alongside Andy C. Taking the John F Kennedy vocal ‘As we continue the quest for peace’ and recreating his own wobble bass sound that Ant Miles had created for ‘Truly One’, this track hit home and smashed up all dancefloors and still does so to this day. For the second track, Shimon alongside Andy C once again broke with tradition and instead of a complimenting roller style, went on an Amen tear out dance floor smasher almost, or if not equalling the impact of the A side. This 12” cemented the partnership of Shimon and Andy C and prepared the way for later tracks such as ‘Terraform’ and ‘Body Rock’ that followed.

Randall brought many samples to the table and the new time stretch technology in the Akai sampler smashed the Amen break to pieces, creating one of the most recognised drops within the Jungle scene at the time. To complement the A side, the three artists went on a more Hardcore Junglistic attack with vocal samples from Robocop and twisting up the already legendary ‘Can you feel it’ sample. Also included on this release is the AWOL VIP of Sound Control which had only previously featured on the legendary AWOL LP.
