RESOUND's "Rhytual EP" (2019) introduced the live project to a critical acclaim. Unsurprisingly, when the idea of a remix project was first floated, the response was equally enthusiastic. After some time in the making, we are honoured and extremely excited to bring you the reworks. And what a stellar cast it is!

Longtime friend of the Sweet Sensi Crew, Rumbleton brings his distinct style of Amenism, dubwise, bass RUMBLE junglism. For side A we get the future classic Codex Indica; a deep meditation on dub and junglism. On the side B, Rumbleton meets DJ Clear for Sweet Sensi Records first foray into true Drum Funk. A distinctively elite vocalist, but also an increasingly revered producer, SP:MC steps up to debut on Carbon Music.

Years of devotion to his craft have established him as a cornerstone of the artform and avid listeners will be well aware of his production prowess; both in the 140 world, but also as part of 'Code 3' with Jubei & Dakuan.

In his first solo drum & bass release, SP:MC demonstrates both poise and quality with two distinct tracks; 'No Escape' a heads down, chest shaking stepper; 'Flow State' a soul warming, yet gritty ode to old skool jungle.

As the 25 Years of Metalheadz project picks up steam once again we're happy to honour another milestone by welcoming Total Science back into the fold, commemorating their own glorious two and a half decades of service.

Distracted by the arrival of hardcore in the early 90s, record collecting was quickly followed by DJing and eventually production with the duo now boasting a discography few can rival. It's that hardcore and more specifically Reinforced Records influence that heads up this release with 'Universe 92', a nostalgic but highly polished number.

'Jungle Jungle' sits on the other side, easily one of our most requested represses and an iconic anthem from the early 2000s which is arguably Total Science's greatest gift to the genre.

After many years working with Metalheadz Jubei steps out with his own label, Carbon Music. The first release is something very rare in today's climate, a 'dubplate' anthem, titled 'Show Me' written with good friend and collaborator dBridge. The A-side is paired with solo venture 'Barracuda', which bares all the hallmarks of a classic Jubei production. The label will follow Jubei's aesthetic as an artist, no-nonsense functional dancefloor music that appeals across sub-genres.

Kicking off the release in style, ASC serves up a thunderous atmospheric amen break assault with The Arcane. A calming intro with clean breaks and swirling fx, welcome eerie keys before heavy kicks thrust the track into life with crisp weighty amens snatching your attention. The undertone bass complements the break work perfectly, and the atmosphere gradually ratchets up over a subtle backdrop of effects and pads. A true aural statement.

Dreamy synth-work, lush pads and an understated bassline punctuate State Of Mind, before the apache takes centre stage amidst mournful melodies and echoed snares, setting an unforgettably melancholic tone. A subtle but bliss love letter to yesteryear.

An impeccable, ever-building composition up next, as stabbing breaks and synths, introduce Force Majeure. A moody bassline sets the tone before 'whooshing' soundscapes flood the senses. A1 - Creation

ASC mixes up the Spatial framework superbly with Creation, channeling the classic 720-style vibe of yesteryear. Transforming apache breaks with a twisted sci-fi crunch, the harsh beat patterns take center stage throughout, stabbing and jittering over computerised FX and an unsettled extra terrestrial backdrop which could punctuate an interplanetary starfighter dogfight. This one will be at home in sets spanning several generations of the atmospheric drum & bass movement.

A2 - Placid

ASC's intricate, tight breakwork returns with Placid, bringing an elegant, mysterious aura echoing a solitary avian predator calmly scanning its vast territorial expanse from the skies above. The listener is treated to a host of familiar throwback samples delivered in a subtle, refined manner, with a beautiful simple melody developing over the beatwork as the track progresses.

AA1 - Essence

An unnerving atmosphere from the off here as Essence brings forth an unforgettably simple, addicting beat pattern with constant hats and echoed mellow snares driving an energetic rhythm which will quickly get the head nodding along. ASC drops muffled vocal samples and a repeating melody into the mix to ensure Essence will stay with the listener long after the conclusion.

AA2 - Silent Running

Dialing back the intensity somewhat, Silent Running provides respite to close the EP with X-Files-style keys and minimal synthwork. The break structure follows a chilled 2-step pattern with double snares closing the loop, mixed up occasionally with a subdued threat of more energetic arrangements which remain dormant in the shadows... A1 - Parallel Universe

Kicking off the EP in style, Parallel Universe lays down classic amens straight out of the late 90's - a slickly crafted pattern looping around the muted palette of subtle funk melodies and luscious ambience. This is Aural Imbalance flexing his amen editing talents as well as those inimitable, enchanting chill-out vibes he constructs so well.

A2 - Warming Sine

A crisp DJ-friendly breakbeat introduces Warming Sine, welcoming a mellow collage of 808 bass and textured backdrops before hi-hats usher along the pace. The breakdown teases washes of aural meditation before we are lifted gracefully up by the beats once more, drifting through the skies as twilight sets in.

AA1 - Syren of Hyperion

Analogue kickdrums freckle the landscape of Syren of Hyperion, a blissful roller which envelops the listener with layer upon layer of playful synths and keys. A slight hint of menace lingers tonally, contrasting the soothing auricular scenery, showcasing the variety in Aural Imbalance's musical skillset.

AA2 - Genesis

Closing the EP we have Genesis, a beautiful sugary rush of wisping atmospheric delights, building an effective, catchy beat pattern throughout with exquisite balance. The composition exudes a smooth, tranquil energy as the use of gentle FX channel the unfurling emergence of dawn in a forest bustling with fauna. A wonderful piece.

Banshee is the new record label from internationally renowned DJ/producer Brianna Price (B.Traits/Baby T). Drawing “esoteric aggressive feminine energy” from the folkloric figure that gives Banshee its name, the imprint will focus on the output of Price’s Baby T alias.

Brianna knows her way around a dance. Years spent producing, DJing, and touring under the B.Traits alias have given Price a vast knowledge of rave culture. Now, all of that experience has been put to good use as part of Baby T’s “hardcore junglist shit only” approach. Anyone who has encountered a Baby T tune in a dark basement over the years should know that there will be no messing around with Banshee’s output. Baby T specialises in hardcore rave tackle schooled by junglism, electro and darkside techno, the project’s sound was honed via releases on labels like Samurai Music and Central Processing Unit. It’s a style at once wild yet focused, untamed yet laser-precise - This is music that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up – not unlike a banshee’s shriek, in fact…

The first Banshee release is not a collection for the faint of heart. Each of these four cuts is primed for deployment at the point of the party when things really kick into overdrive. Workforce presents his debut album ‘Set & Setting’ on his own imprint Must Make Music. This body of work marks a significant new chapter for Jack as he continues to re-establish himself as a solo producer, DJ and label owner after 16 years as one half of the celebrated Drum & Bass duo Spectrasoul.

As an album, ‘Set & Setting’ is an absolute focussing of the Workforce sound. It’s the coming together of his influences and human experience to form the basis of the work - frenetically varied in both sound and feel, but held together by an overarching aesthetic and sonic palette.

'Set & Setting’, a phrase I’ve co-opted from the context of psychedelics, refers to the physical, mental, social, and environmental context that an individual brings to an experience.

MC Fats was a beloved figure in the drum and bass community, known for his smooth vocals and infectious energy on the mic. With a career spanning over two decades, he collaborated with some of the biggest names in the genre, including DJ Hype, Calibre, Alix Perez, and of course the multi genre chart topping Chase & Status!

Sadly, MC Fats passed away in March 2023, leaving behind a legacy of incredible music and unforgettable performances. But his influence lives on, and his music continues to inspire and uplift fans around the world. One of MC Fats' final releases is a new single called Anytime, in collaboration with Drum and Bass legend and producer partner Cool Hand Flex.

As one of Suburban Base original artist roster we were delighted to welcome them ‘back home’, and Fats was excited to see the reaction and plays the Anytime was already gaining. Having discussed with Flex, his dear friend and long-time collaborator, we together feel that it's appropriate that this release goes ahead as a tribute to our brother.

The track features MC Fats' signature soulful vocals, layered over Flex's classic jungle beats and modern production techniques. The single also includes an incredible remix from up-and-coming producer FreezeUK, adding a stunning version to the package which is already gaining maximum play nationwide.

Anytime is a testament to MC Fats' enduring talent and passion for Drum and Bass music. It's a reminder of the joy and energy he brought to the scene, and a tribute to his unforgettable voice and spirit. As we mourn the loss of MC Fats, we celebrate his incredible legacy and the impact he had on the Drum and Bass community.

While writing Hurt Index on and off over a two year period, Tyrone challenged himself to step out of his comfort zone and to find a tone that balances his signature sound with that of The North Quarter. The end result is a collection of intricate hi-tech funk of the highest pedigree and a project of a more weathered artist, who has grown and expanded his repertoire.

After the sudden passing of Stu, one half of The Bridge Project, we decided to not put Palomas on the sequel of the Parazone album forthcoming on Parallax, but give it its own 12" with a brand new tune instead. The new tune is written by Lee Shilton, especially for Stu.

All money that the release raises will be going straight to Stu´s family to support them in these difficult times.

musician and artist, is ready to step into the spotlight, with the debut of his latest Alter Ego.
On CHRONIC DURATIONS he takes the audience on a dramatic, emotional journey into the world
of Intelligent Drum and Bass music. The sound is familiar, yet new and timeless, it’s stuck in the
90s while showcasing the future. Slow melodies carry you through the tracks and are broken by
fast kicks and glitchy sounds. The EP can be understood as a hybrid of sound and video art. To
further lose yourself in the work, The Duty Freedom has created a series of dreamlike glitch video

Alix Perez and Bou present 'Back To Basics' one of the most sought-after dubs in Drum and Bass. This dancefloor weapon features MC Trigga, whose lyrics carry the weighty bassline throughout the track.

On the flipside Alix submits 'Under Pressure' with T Man. Providing further ammunition for the DJ's, this track with his assertive tone along a bouncy bassline and rolling drums.

Back in 2019, Dogger and Mindstate made their debut on 1985 Music with 'Broken Home' featuring the legendary Liam Bailey. Fast forward 3 years later and the track is still heavily supported in DJ sets by most of the leading names in Drum & Bass. There is only 1 producer with is worthy of making their own mark on this track - Calibre. He steps up on remix duties, breathing new life into an anthem.

Paired with a fresh offering, Dogger and Mindstate call on their very good friend DRS. 'TMWFTE' (The Man Who Fell To Earth) is a perfect piano roller drenched with soul. This track has also played a key part in DRS's recent sold-out UK Tour.

waveforms is a new label from ASC & Presha, label heads of Spatial/Auxiliary and Samurai Music, focusing on early 90’s jungle. Vinyl releases on 10".
