Fabio & Grooverider have been at the forefront of UK dance music for over 3 decades. This is the roots of their story told through music.

The 2 London DJ's are part of the DNA of the global Jungle / D&B movement and they have remained relevant, cutting edge, authoritative and essential to this truly underground art-form since it's inception. RAGE could arguably be the ground zero of Jungle. The party was started at London's cavernous Heaven club by Fabio & Grooverider in 1988, at the height of Acid House fever that was making it's way up and down the motorways, slip-roads, fields and warehouses of the M25 and further beyond every weekend, troubling the nation, the police, your parents and the press as it went. RAGE was a different beast, it certainly channelled some of that Acid energy but pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London's West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

RAGE is approaching its 30th anniversary. Its sonic and cultural legacy is still being felt today, Fabio & Groove are still shutting down raves and festivals every weekend all over the world with their superior DJ sets and musical knowledge guided by their pioneering spirit. This musical selection you hold in your hands, the first of 4 parts, sees them delve into their prodigious memories and record boxes to select a true musical representation of the very beginning of one of the UK's most unique and influential musical movements of the last 50 years. Across 4 x 2 x 12"s compilations we are taken on a journey through the sounds of RAGE, accompanied with personal track by track notes from Fabio & Grooverider. Music from London, Detroit, Sheffield and beyond features, with tracks such as 33 1/3 Queen's rave banger 'Searchin' sitting shoulder to shoulder with Debbie Malone's underground classic 'Rescue Me' and sublime Detroit Techno from Yennek (aka Kenny Larkin), whose 'Serena X' features. This will be a true masterclass in the sound of the underground, from the inside out.

Dutch electronic music trio, Noisia, have announced the release of their long awaited new album, 'Outer Edges' on their own label, Vision. The 18 track album is their first in six years, and the band's second in total.
With a peerless reputation and countless awards under their belts, Noisia have transcended their genre and grown into a phenomenon in their own right. Drum & Bass is at the core of Noisia's sound, but Nik, Martijn, and Thijs's visceral brand has always ventured further.

"It's called Outer Edges because it's us exploring the outer edges of what Noisia, the three of us together, is. It's about the idea that all the songs are little islands that we take to their individual edge... They're all like expeditions to far sides. That doesn't mean that it's everything; it's just that every song, if it goes in a certain direction, we've taken it all the way there. There's no real concessions, we haven't been super DJ- or radio-friendly at all and we've done no collaborations or hardly any vocals on the album." - Noisia

Russian artist Torn arrives on Homemade Weapons label Weaponry with an EP that further refines his distinctive vision of modern drum and bass. Four rugged, powerful frames built with maximum potency, assuring Torn’s continued ascendance.

Champa B and Drum Cypha are both hugely established and respected in the underground scene and have released on some major labels including numerous releases on their own imprint Holotype Audio.
This is the debut for Champa B on Skeleton, where Drum Cypha had his debut track (Reflection Hologram) on the XXV Project album.

Infrared Records are proud to announce the highly anticipated forthcoming J Majik album "Full Circle". Release Date 1st May 2019.
Full Circle features a variety of drum and bass styles, from the heavy amen edits of "The Crow Knows", the serene sci-fi influenced futurism of "Codebreaker" to the early hardcore sound of "Meridian".

The album also contains several other points of reference to the scenes pioneering years of the mid-90s. "Serenity" nods to the progressive style of Good Looking and "Point Of Return" pays homage to the experimental sound of Reinforced.

The Canadian duo of Gremlinz & Jesta present their debut EP for Metalheadz, a 4-tracker full of energy, emotion, progression and creativity. On the flip we have Sabre's often studio production partner in crime Halogenix briging us something solo, completely creative, fresh and inspiring. CIA Records give us the fourth instalment in the hugely popular Classified Series. It's an all-star line-up with new talents mixing with established artists and established artists forming new entities, it's very much a collaborative affair with each track being made by more than one person.

The EP starts with The Sauce (a new act comprising Spinback Total Science, DLR and Hydro) remixing perhaps the biggest dnb tune of the 00s- 'Nosher'. Zero T links up with Phase on the soulful future classic, 'Talk To Me.'

Sofa Sound Bristol returns with a double A-side collaborative single after the runaway success of the label's debut various artists compilation 'Sofa King Sick'. This time label boss DLR teams up with two huge talents in Abis and Signal. Abis is no stranger to drum n bass having been one half of the very successful act June Miller and Signal has cemented himself as one the most exciting artists to emerge in recent years.

The Throwing Shades EP throws down a patchwork concoction of lazer tinged breaks, atmospheric rushes, soundclash recordings and crusty rave tape samples, deftly woven together in Dead Man’s Chest’s signature punch-drunk style.

After teaming up with label boss Coco Bryce early last year, Dead Man's Chest aka Alex Eveson goes in for his first solo release on Diamond Life.

Drum Shanty is definitely the more rowdy one. Going straight for the throat with a ragga chant and gritty lofi drums, it'll surely get any party started in no time. It's rough and rugged, but still retains Eveson's trademark subtle style and flair.

Blue Mountain is a whole other beast. Its low pitched breaks and quirky melody make it sound more like a double tempo trip hop tune than the junglist skank outs you might expect from Dead Man's Chest.

Pete Cannon ends the N4 trilogy with the best of the bunch. This EP is his usual blend of raw Amiga power. Authentic hardcore sound made in an authentic hardcore way, using original ingredients, techniques and studio equipment. All hardware, all hardcore, all the time! However, this one takes a slightly more...piano-ey....turn, and in doing so brings us some of the most brilliant old skool to date. It is certainly an unmissable EP, not only the strongest of the N4s, but also the perfect end to a perfect series. Unless a part 4 comes along, in which case, I will backwards engineer this write up to make it look like it was always gonna be part 3 of a quadrilogy or whatever the word is for that!

Cosmic Bridge’s club focused ‘Earthbase Series’ continues with ‘Nocturnal’ the new release from Russian producer A.Fruit.

Four tracks that fuse Footwork, Drum’n’Bass, Techno and bold sound design into the 160 BPM framework. A er a heavy hitting set of releases via Russian imprint Hyperboloid, Irish modern trendsetters Rua Sound, and the ever vigilant Med School, so please welcome A.Fruit to the Cosmic Bridge roster.

Label boss Om Unit says: “Anna has a rare ear in this 160bpm world; one foot firmly in the techier sound-design lane, and one in the world of fun dance floor sounds. Well mixed, and not too serious! It’s great to have her on board and we look forward to sharing a stage soon!”

Kicking things off is ‘Make Them Shake’, a hypnotic and contorted expression of footwork with bubbling bass and drum FX - only for the boldest of dancers. ‘Polykarp’ comes complete with rugged old school hardcore chops twisted into a technoid stepper. ‘Deep Insight’, is reminiscent of early Moving Shadow Jungle; hypnotic & minimalist with tight drums, glitches and jazzy late night moments. Closing track ’Before You Go’ is a breaks filled, garage-footwork workout; cheeky vocal cuts and rolling syncopated rhythms for your waistline!

Some 3 years ago, Abyss was responsible for one of Myor Massiv's most popular releases. Now he finally makes his long awaited return to the label for a split 12” with Tommy The Cat.

Both tracks are heavy Amen rollers. On the a-side Abyss goes in for some serious hardcore business with “Journey Of A Crackhead” whereas Cat In The Bag head honcho Tommy The Cat opts for a dirty dubwise approach on the flip.
