In celebration of Liondub International’s10 year anniversary, NYC’s Liondub selected the best tracks from the Jungle To The World series and compiled them into limited edition 12” EP vinyl releases exclusively for Unearthed Sounds. Volume 4 includes an incredible array of artists and producers including: Kings Of The Rollers’ Serum, Top Cat, Numa Crew, DJ Hybrid, Hungry T, Raz, Haribo & Robert Dallas.

Guaranteed to move fast, this 12” contains 4 tracks that have been tried and tested on the radio and in the clubs as well as two previously unreleased gems (‘Stay High VIP’ from Hybrid / ‘Gal Yuh Look Nice’ from Top Cat & Raz). In compiling a remix 12” for the most recent Homemade Weapons LP - Gravity, we approached 2 titans of underground electronic music who have both been supportive of Homemade Weapons and Samurai Music. Donato Dozzy and Tommy Four Seven have each been utilising our releases in their sets and we have been inspired and grateful for their fearless deployment of drum and bass to their predominately Techno audiences.

No stylistic directive or requests were given. We trusted these two gifted artists to interpret the music in their own unique fashion, but in all honesty expected remixes around the techno tempo. What we received back are 2 landmark drum and bass versions that re-define the nexus between Drum and Bass and Techno.

Samurai Music has worked for many years in both Drum and Bass and Techno and constantly explored the middle ground between the two. Many Drum and Bass producers have been releasing their version of this cross over but producers from the Techno sphere coming at Drum and Bass have been fewer and less successful.

Donato’s remix is a poignant reduction that strips Svalsat to a potent shuddering core, splashing grey swatches onto a constant rhythmic build. The maestro’s power of subtle, hypnotic transformation applied to the 170 tempo sculpts the rhythm to searing perfection.

Tommy Four Seven reforms Red Tide into a grinding undulation, a thrusting and propulsive menace with titanium strength breakbeats bulging at the edges of it’s construction.

Memory Disks. Volume One. Chevron. The Blackpool born sorcerer is conjuring up spellbinding tracks that boil and bubble between supernatural rave, occult acid and inverted techno. Dripping from speakers, a concoction of swirling chords simmer as a spiced shower of razor edged rhythms are poured into the pot. Shadowy notes ghost like phantoms behind crunching beats, beastly bars growl as keys slide and slither between nine short, medium and long excursions into the glow-stick festooned musical mind of Jonathan Valentine. Nestled amongst the bewitching synthesizer psychedelia, peering from behind the purple forests and white dwarf frogs, are less frenetic works, a soft balance to the frenzied chicanery and chrome plated magic. Simply put, a weird and wonderful EP where the only stable point, the only spot of secured safety, is the needle on the record.

Celebrating the 50th release on the Nonplus label, Instra:mental return with their sophomore album Timelines. A long awaited record that finally uncovers the unreleased gems of the legendary Autonomic Podcast series. This eleven track album features five, previously vinyl only cuts, with another six unreleased tracks from the vault. This is an album that will feel nostalgic to some but new to others. Classics like Photograph and Pacific Heights transport the listener back to a time where Instra:mental started to blur the boundaries in a pool of multiple genres, allowing artists to dip their toes with creative freedom. This release is mainly rooted in 170bpm (with the exception of “More Than”) but effortlessly feels like its spanning multiple tempos. With the techno infused Encke Gap to the slow pulsings of Deep Night. Timelines represents the embodiment of the Autonomic “Drum & Bass” movement, a slice of time that sounds modern despite being more than a decade in existence. Timelines is a collectors piece that will sit happily in your physical or digital collection, an essential record that highlights the golden era of Instra:mental’s illustrious career.

The blueprint for both the Source Direct and Mirage releases on Odysee Recordings was always about presenting two complimentary styles of Drum & Bass; often a dark Amen track on one side would be paired with a more experimental ambient or Jazz-infused track on the other. Label partner Andy Odysee’s debut solo release remains true to that ethos. Taking a break from the remix/remaster series that has seen Mirage’s Bewildered and No Tomorrow return to vinyl, Andy delivers a 12” that demonstrates both musical depth and stylistic versatility.

Julien Chastagnol returns to Love Love on tip top form with a 12' containing some of his most acute acid material to date - a concise collection of 4 tracks that convey Ruby My Dear's most high-octane dimension.

Astrophonica welcomes veteran producer dgoHn to the family. Through releasing music over the past decade, dgoHn aka John Cunnane has acquired a cult following and gained DJ support from figure heads like Thom Yorke, Tom Ravenscroft and Aphex Twin.

2009 saw Rephlex Records release his collaborative album ‘Some Shit Saaink’ with fellow drumcunt Macc. Sitting somewhere between Jungle, Drumfunk, Experimental Jazz and brutal sub bass, dgoHn’s music is intense in both mania and serenity.

“dgoHn has long since been one of my favourite producers in the left-field jungle or ‘drumfunk’ world. He has a knack of applying brain melting beat science without ever interrupting the groove and rhythm of the track. It’s something that few people can do, and he seems to effortlessly. There’s also a certain sadness and melancholy to his chords and fleeting melodies, which creates a beautiful contrast to the frantic drum madness. Amongst all this, there is a lot of bass, real Jungle bass, that anchors but also adds the ‘sound system’ edge to the mix, resulting in something very unique.” - Fracture

Presenting the 2nd EP - the ‘FATE’ EP on 1985 Music from Cologne based Jonas Briere AKA SubMarine. His last track IWY featured on the last Various artists album (Edition 2) found heavy rotation with a premiere on UKF. Jonas has been selling out his events in his home town, and has found himself playing numerous shows around Europe. He has found the perfect balance between deep, minimal, progressive and melodic dnb. Forthcoming on vinyl and digital on 15th November 2019.

Function Records is one of the most well-respected imprints not just within jungle music, but also across drum & bass., having been spearheaded by Digital, a producer who’s garnered just as much of a reputation for his own cuts and crowd-moving DJ sets. One of the reasons why Digital has stood the test amongst his counterparts is because he’s stayed true to his heritage, something which can be seen throughout the catalogue of Function. For its fiftieth release he’s invited a host of producers to have their take on the label’s sound.

To commemorate this compilation, names like Nomine, Calibre & Jet Li, Klute and Drumsound & Bassline Smith feature across its track listing, each delivering an exclusive addition to Function’s renowned history. The album shows the influence which Digital has built throughout his career and it’s one decorated with music, much like the type which is showcased on the ‘Shadows’ LP.

Since its inception in 2016, Redeyes has become one of the cornerstone artists of The North Quarter, fully embracing the multi-genre aspirations of the label. Yet with his latest release he delivers a more homogeneous project, focussing mainly on his Drum & Bass roots. His always intricate productions draw influences from Jazz, Techno and Dub to give a coherent yet diverse feel to his third release on the Amsterdam based label.

RA002 brings double the trouble with 4 killer tracks expressing our true style in break beat culture.

The four track special addition marbled vinyl marks a year from when the foundations were laid down for Rotation Audio in 2018.

The EP features tracks from the likes of our very own Sicknote and Drum Cypha but welcomes new artists on board including good friend Mono, Slider & Expose and Dissect. Dissect lining up with Sicknote for another duo release.

This one’s straight out of ‘96 – or is it? Taking you back deep down to the sounds of now, it’s DLR on Total Science’s CIA Records, with three slamming cuts to possibly jam your radar – but sure to pleasure your senses.

DLR is on another plane with his sonic capabilities, with an almost unmatched ability to capture that contemporary big room sound. Match him with rave luminaries Total Science and you and The Doc may as well have parked the Delorean outside Stratford Rex. Going in deep with a few of the more obscure old skool breaks, big bold rave pianos and classic samples – you’re sure you maybe heard this one before? And that big big bass to just take apart the place. This one’s danger.

The One More Record EP houses three killer cuts from DLR, the lead track ‘Spluurge’ alongside Total Science. They all capture the jungle vibe perfectly, yet sound bang up to date, and are sure to feature in any DJs set that values that 90’s vibe and needs to take the roof off the dance.

We welcome for our final release of 2019, Germany’s very own Max Hock aka Es.tereo. This, our third release on our ‘Earthbase’ series, sees Max arrive with an already solid pedigree of output via such labels such as the now defunct but seminal Hidden Hawaii imprint, as well as Ireland’s Abyss Records and German modern dnb staple Urban Poetry. His perhaps most notable previous work is arguably his ‘Theme’ project (via Samurai Music) which saw universal praise from the leftfield dnb scene and beyond , taking the landscape of dub techno atmospherics into a whole exciting new format of 170bpm-led excursions, when most people where hypnotised by minimalist sub-lead dread.

Utopia Music are back for another release and it features the artists who have helped create its identity. Dropping in October, Mikal and Mako are here to take you into the darker months.

Their next release sees label head Mako join Mikal for a punchy a-side titled ‘Under the Earth’ and joins two masters of their craft for a track which is pervasive. Stabs of sub and clattering breaks draw you in whilst the second drop pad heralds back to old Bad Company.

On the flip, Mikal presents ‘Switch It’, with a howling ambient backdrop and ticking patches of percussion. Mikal goes for the dark and moody sounds and in doing so, highlights why he’s come under the guise of Goldie and Andy C. He has already proven his heavyweight formula through a variety of labels, including the esteemed Metalheadz imprint, showing a penchant for the darker styles of drum & bass and he boasts an enviable production standard.

Bristol based Utopia Music have recently relaunched the label and in doing so, have already reaffirmed why they grew to become such tastemakers. With the double-sided single from Break, M-Zine’s hard-lined ‘Equate EP’ and Hydro’s expansive ‘Lateral Thinking’ LP, they’ve delivered a host of releases to wet the appetites of drum & bass listeners who were waiting for Utopia’s return.

Manchester’s rising son Dylan Blythin aka Artilect affirms his status as one of Samurai’s most potent creators by following on from his Blurring The Line EP (2018 Samurai Music) with 4 new tracks of precision futurism. Informed reverence for the genre’s golden years is baked deeply into the grooves of the Rhythm Seeker EP. Artilect collects the most timeless elements of DnB history and fuses them with modern day production techniques and a distinctive method of construction and sound.

Now working on his debut LP for the Samurai Music label, the Rhythm Seeker EP sets a course for what to expect from an artist assuredly working towards his creative peak.

Meander is the more experimental alias of one of the absolute best Hardcore producers ever "Ophidian".

On his "Dead Things EP" he has taken experimental broken up Industrial Hardcore and Drum & Bass to a next level, something hardly thought possible...

We could fill a book worth's of linear notes on how great this 4 track EP is. But why even try... Just listen for yourself and lets let the music do the talking. In this case is says a whole lot!

Slider & Expose are no strangers to Lossless, having featured on Versus Volume Four with their disgusting weighty dub soaked track "Sound Sistem".

For their first full release on Lossless the brothers from Hull bring proper rave vibes with "Be Right There" which mixes well into pretty much anything. "All Fall Down" featuring Clima is a proper roller that would sound right at home on a Metalheadz release.

Bringing the EP to a close the siblings from "the North" team up with label boss Soul Intent for a beautiful yet edgy 6 minutes of pure underground drum and bass that's turned the heads of some of the scenes most respected selectors.
