WINTERSLEEP aus Montreal veröffentlichen am 4. März 2016 über Dine Alone Records ihr neues Album - The Great Detachment . Zwei Jahre arbeitete die Band an dem Album, das eine Rückkehr zu den Ursprüngen der Band darstellt, aufgenommen wurde es mit Produzent Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai) im Sonic Temple Studio in Halifax (wo auch - Welcome To The Night Sky und die beiden Vorgänger des Durchbruchalbums entstanden sind) . Das Album wurde größtenteils mit der kompletten Band im Studio aufgenommen, um den Livesound der Band einzufangen und dabei möglichst organisch und transparent zu klingen. - Die Energie war anders als zuvor sagt Murphy, - aber es war genau das, was wir etwas vermisst hatten. - The Great Detachment ist ein Rock-Album mit einer musikalischen Wärme, die stark an Wintersleeps ersten Hit ‚Weighty Ghost' erinnert. Jack Pattern ist ein Trio aus Zürich, welches sich analogen Soundmaschinen und dem Produzieren intergalaktischer Töne und Grooves, sowie dem gelegentlichen Auflegen verschrieben hat. Sie betreiben außerdem ihr eigenes Label Lust Poderosa. Diese Jungs lieben den Moment oszillierender Wellen. Es geht nicht um Purismus, es geht darum, das auszuleben, was sie fühlen: Liebe, Beschleunigung, dann Euphorie. Deeper acidoid-rauer Cosmic Disco und House, sowie düster-trippiger Techno zeichnen diese 4-Track-EP und ihr Debüt auf Drumpoet aus.

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks began to formulate their visionary brand of aural catharsis sometime during the first half of 1977, amidst the sordid ruins of a then fully down-and-out Lower Manhattan. The mastermind behind this juggernaut of sonic libertinage was a barely pubescent but world-weary runaway who called herself Lydia Lunch. Influenced strongly by the Marquis de Sade and Henry Miller, Lunch shrewdly decided to graft the existential horror of her own writing onto harsh, atonal music after being exposed to the room-clearing live output of other contemporary rock-music deconstructionists like Suicide and Mars. With an agenda of conjuring nightmarish intensity in lieu of technical instrumental ability, Teenage Jesus instantly made the supposedly nihilistic' and raw' current wave of so-called Punk acts sound like slick, good-timey pop music by comparison. Teenage Jesus and the Jerks were The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, lisa, She Wolf of the SS, and Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, transliterated into a blatant mockery of the increasingly tired, basic rock-band format. Posthumously, there have been numerous reissues of the primary Teenage Jesus corpus, namely the first side of the Lydia Lunch double compilation album Hysterie (CD Presents, 1986), a very incomplete anthology titled Everything (Atavistic, 1995) and Shut Up and Bleed (Cherry Red/Atavistic, 2008), which also featured Beirut Slump tracks. These less-than-fastidious documents contained reverb-laden transcriptions of the studio cuts directly from vinyl copies, as well as random live tracks of mediocre fidelity. This particular collection about to be released on Other-People is meticulously edited and mastered from rare bootlegs taped during the initial 1977-1979 period of classic band, and only one title (Crown of Thorns from January 17,1979) has been legitimately released to date, albeit in a completely different sound quality.

A sweet groover from the Italian scene of the 70's - music that's got a lush feel, but a funky one too - a great mix of strings and electric instrumentation that rivals the best cop/crime work of the time - yet also has a nice sexy feel too! There's almost a blaxploitation vibe to the record at times - and although some instruments solo at points, the real groove lies in the tight vamping of the orchestra - which hits all the right notes to really send the whole thing soaring - often with a nice use of tone and color too!

Und Garrett sollte mit dieser Aussage Recht behalten: - Explosive begeistert Crossover-Fans wie Klassik-Liebhaber, platzierte sich gleich in der zweiten Woche auf #4 der Deutschen Album-Charts und hielt sich insgesamt 15 Wochen unter den Top 25. Das Album zeichnet sich durch seine spektakuläre Mischung an Eigenkompositionen Garretts und Crossover-Adaptionen berühmter Rock-/Pop-Klassiker aus. It's time for another limited release from Absys Records. This time we're offering a brilliant EP by Hatti Vatti & Lady Katee - a duo recognized well on both Polish and global electronic music scene. You can be sure about the quality of the release - after, all Hatti Vatti is a producer recording with e.g. Synkro, and his tracks have been remixed by Andy Stott and ASC, for instance, Lady Katee, in turn, is known for her vocal endeavours as part of her post-rock band called Little White Lies. 'Farba Wszystkich Zdarzen' labelled as ABSLTD006 is a pink-coloured 10inch vinyl EP containing 4 tracks, constituting a smooth combination of fresh electronica, characterized by a mixture of depth, subtlety and gentle sound of contemporary electronic music and a delicate layer of vocals. As a whole, the EP seems to be hitting the rather more positive, upbeat notes, but still far from simplicity or tackiness, which is an undeniable asset, especially in terms of escaping the ever-expanding mainstream. Interestingly enough, the title track - 'Farba Wszystkich Zdarzen' (check out the official video! (youtu.be/2vCu5wKYXeI) - is the only track recorded by the duo, where you can hear Lady Katee sing in Polish. A small tribute to the duo's motherland, if you may.

The second outcome on Retrograde signifies the first release of head-honcho Marlon Hoffstadt on his and Natureboy Gold's new imprint. After a short timeout the young Berlin producer presents his new work on this four-tracker in collaboration with Chicago House Music icon and pioneer Paris Brightledge, accountably for releases since 1987 on substantial labels such as DJ International Records. He recently delivered the vocals on Paranoid London's killers 'Paris Dub 1 & 2'. 'Smile' the title track of the EP, highlights Paris' ability to hypnotize the dance floor with his unique voice combined with Marlon's production smoothness. With 'Smile' Paris displays: 'torn from the angst of my soul concerning the tragedy of love and life lost'. 'Smile' got a special treatment by Detroit's very own Kris Wadsworth. His Venus Rx Remix lived up to its name and has some 'pretty nasty analog stuff going on' to catapult yourself right into the atmosphere. The B-side 'Lies' discusses how coming from the streets doesn't always allow feelings to be displayed in life or in love. It's a percussion driven, 303 based club workout. No rest for dancers on this one. Remix comes from label artist Matteo Luis, providing a more synth accented version, introducing an engrossing sound that will be continued on his upcoming RTGD 003. The EP is Paris' and Marlon's first collaboration and we can already promise it won't be the last one on Retrograde. Every copy comes with a full cover artwork by Hermann Reimer.

Sasha Siems Debütalbum repräsentiert einen Songzyklus aus 12 Tracks, die ihre unterschiedliche musikalische Sozialisation widerspiegeln. Über Jahre komponierte die in Englang geborene Halb-Norwegerin klassische Musik, die weltweit mit Preisen ausgezeichnet wurde. Gleichzeitig aber übten zeitgenössischen Pop-Musiker wie Andrew Bird, Tom Waits, Björk und Joanna Newsom mit ihrem innovativen Songwriting und ungewöhnlichen Arrangements eine wahnsinnige Faszination auf Sasha aus. Im Ergebnis ist Most Of The Boys eben das, was es ist - ein ungwöhnliches Album, idiosynkratrisch und groß. Siem wuchs in London auf als Tochter eines norwegischen Vaters und einer englischen Kunsthistorikern auf. Sie begann mit 5 Jahren Klavier zu spielen, kurz danach kam Cello dazu und mit 11 Jahren studierte sie an den Wochenenden an Londons Guildhall. Bereits mit 20 Jahren hat sie für angesehene Orchester wie das London Symphony Orchestra, das London Philharmonic Orchestra und das Norwegian Chamber Orchestra komponiert. 2010 gewann sie den British Composer Award. Ihre Liebe zur Poesie brachte sie schließlich dazu, Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten neben der Klassik zu suchen und sie fand sie in ihren Songs die schlussendlich zum Album Most Of The Boys wurden.

Es ist noch gar nicht so lange her, da hat man aufwendig und wortreich seinem Gegenüber erklären müssen, von welcher Wiener Band man denn hier gerade spricht. Heute genügt eigentlich bloß ein Wort und jeder ist sofort im Bilde: - Amore ! In erstaunlich kurzer Zeit ist es Wanda nicht nur gelungen,
Band und dazugehörige Debüt-Platte in Österreich auf ein Platin-Level hochzuspielen, sondern man hat es ganz nebenbei auch noch geschafft, mit - Amore sein eigenes Schlagwort ins Wörterbuch der deutschsprachigen Popkultur zu zimmern. Und da ist jetzt noch nicht mal über die kollektive Euphorie an der Schwelle Hysterie gesprochen, die Wanda in den über 150 Konzerten der letzten 12 Monate auszulösen vermochten. Nun liegt bereits weniger als ein Jahr nach dem Debüt das zweite Album vor: - Bussi ! Die Atemlosigkeit des letzten Bandjahres findet so auch ihre Entsprechung im Veröffentlichungsintervall. There have been many different ways in describing the personal stories behind the protagonists of the electronical music scene in the 90ies. It´s in the nature of things that especially producers, whose place of work is the studio, remained rather in the background.
One of them is Ralf Hildenbeutel. He was the producer of Sven Väth´s most important releases such as "L'Esperanza" or "Fusion" and an essential creative part of the Eye Q label in the 90ies. His "Earth Nation" project was the first live act from that genre who was taking a drummer on the live stage, playing on international festivals and stages including the "Montreux Jazz Festival". The vita continues. While many other musicians kept on working on techno, Hildenbeutel composed for artists such as Laith Al-Deen or Phil´s son Simon Collins and wrote filmmusic for movies such as "Hommage á Noir" which won the Goldmedal for music on the New York Filmfestivals. The film adaption of Martion Suter's "Der Koch", "Ausgerechnet Sibirien", TV thriller such as "Kommissarin Lucas" or even the series of "Verbotene Liebe" have been scored by Ralf Hildenbeutel. His filmmusic for the international multi-awarded shortmovie "Momentum" was nominated at the Newport International Filmfestival. On "Moods" Hildenbeutel finds more back to electronical music. Fans of artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm or Jon Hopkins will enjoy this longplayer. Hildenbeutel mixes complex string-arrangements and piano pieces with clicks & cuts and invents his own coherent language which allows both directions to live in harmony. Elegiac compositions and vivacious, percussive breakouts as in "Spark" (for which an video by award-winning filmmaker Boris Seewald will be made) meet on this album.
An album which grows and gains depth with each hearing.

"Aquatic System"" is the second installment of the series, written and composed in two remote geographical places - namely at waters in Finland and Fuerteventura. Inspired by the complexity of water, its movement, various forms, inhabitants and hidden energy, the album was assembled mainly using synthesizers and processed field recordings of the ponds, streams, lakes and oceans of the different locations. With a vibrant story and conceptualization the focus lies in taking the listener on a observing, thoughtful and reflective journey through the aquatic system of our waters. Aquatic System opens with an impression of a frozen surface imagining icy and calm underwater movements underneath. Soon a slow process of melting begins and while the water starts to move in tiny streams of sound, small lifeforms evolve, curiously sending out small pulses in their flowing and constantly moving habitat. The aquatic nature awakens. Zooming out to larger waters high frequencies arise and colliding forms become audible. Larger marine life forms can be faintly heard when entering a much wilder environment, sensing sound-swirls of wind, foaming water tops and impressive large waves crashing on dark rocks. Finally ending at the shore, where the great ocean appears on the horizon, the environment is surrounded with moisture. From the calm reflective landscape derives an inward moment, recalling the organic and atmospheric quality of the sound journey. ""Aquatic System"" has been developed into an audiovisual performance together with visual artist Emilia Kwiatkowska and was performed several times in Spain and Finland, before the music has been finalized for the tracks.

Entitas, is the second instalment of Jay Clarke's BLACKAXON imprint, and sees the label boss bring out the big guns in the form of three distinct and diverse cuts. First up is Entity, an autonomic monster which has sweat soaked energy written all over it. It's auspiciously one part deep, and more than double just as twisted. Things are far from linear with Entity, it's mercilessly the sum of it's own parts, and has the hallmarks of a true big room pleaser written all over it. A truly authentic demonstration of the old adage 'It's not where you are going, it's how you get there'. Entity is certain to be reached for by all of the major players on the Techno circuit for a long time to come.
On the flip, Ghosts Of Acid is the Yin to Entity's Yang. A plangent and introspective groove opens up with wispy cymbals, cleverly placed rims, hats and claps. Exploratory and evolving subaqueous acidic forays dare the listener to dive in a little deeper, with the reward being a very proficient and efficient take on the now classic Acid sound.

Existence Through Perception seeks to carry on where the previous two tracks left off. A driving groove and sinister hook lets up briefly midway to a near triumphant fanfare, only to be brought back to it's mischievous overture. A perfect late night/peak time track for DJ's looking to elevate the bar of their set just one more rung higher.

Das erste Release auf Ostocode Exile in limitiertem weißen Vinyl vom Leipziger Oliver Rosemann, welcher derzeit als eine Hälfte von Dualit Erfolge auf Earwiggle, EarToGround und sogar CLR feiert, liefert mit Chest einen hypnotischen & rauen Techno Track. Dazu gibt es auf der Chest Reworks EP einen Remix von Dualit, sowie vom Argentinier Luis Ruiz und von Espen Lauritzen aus Norwegen, welcher das Label Krill Music betreibt.

Vor eineinhalb Jahren war er noch Tellerwäscher in einem Restaurant in Fort Worth, vor drei Monaten jagten vierzig Plattenfirmen nach seiner Unterschrift. Nun, im Frühling 2015, steht Leon Bridges vor der Veröffentlichung eines DER Alben, die mit Spannung erwartet werden. So musste zuletzt beim diesjährigen SXSW Festival in Austin beim seinem Konzert hunderten Besuchern wegen Überfüllung der St. David's Episcopal Church der Eintritt verwehrt werden. Doch wie war dem extrem schüchternen, 25-jährigen Texaner, der mit seinem Look und Sound den Soul der Prä-Beatles-Ära aufleben lässt, in der kurzen Zeit dieses Kunststück nur geglückt Leons große Liebe war eigentlich das Tanzen und so absolvierte er zunächst eine Ausbildung als Choreograph. Auf die Idee, irgendwann einmal selbst Musik zu machen, wäre er damals nie gekommen. Seine eigene Musikerkarriere begann Leon Bridges mit dem Schreiben einfacher Songs und trat bei "Open Mic"-Abenden im Großraum seiner Heimatstadt auf. Im Laufe der Zeit entwickelte der junge Texaner dann ein Faible für perfekt nuancierten Retro-Soul und -Gospel, der ihm Vergleiche mit seinen Helden Sam Cooke, Percy Sledge und Otis Redding bescherte.

Iosefa Manumaleuna, aka DJ Hyperactive, is now back in Chicago after nearly 20 years in LA. Prior to his return, his classic Wide Open track got a serious re-working by Berghain resident Len Faki on Figure. As part of the Droid Behavior crew he released the 25Hrs. EP on Droid Recordings. More recently another DJ Hyperactive classic "Venus" got re-released along with Ciren and Truncate remixes on the "Venus Revisited" EP on Chris Liebing's CLR imprint. 2012 rmarked the return and start of a heavy remix cycle starting with Luis Flores "The Word" and recent remix of Mike Gervais "Churn" both on Detroit based Blank Code, Impact Unit "Dread" on Silent Steps, Manic Brothers "Sledgehammer" on Octopus Black Label, Truncate "31" on Gynoid Audio and the current list of TO DO's is long...!
The first release back in 1997 on 4 Track Records was by DJ Hyperactive titled P.51 and here were are nearly 20 years later and we're going to see the next release again by Hyperactive on vinyl again titled "Black On Black" EP. This EP will be three tracks, 2 which are acid tracks and one long experimental spaced out track.

2015 ist das Jahr des neuen Albums von Alex Bau, das Ende April seine Definition von modernem, intelligentem Techno mit einem düsteren und zugleich auch organischem Touch präzise definiert. Ein klares Bekenntnis zum Sound. Frei von Hochglanz-Bildern und ablenkenden Elementen kommt dies Album mit Techno in seiner unverfälschten, puren Form mit einem einzigen Fokus: die Musik selbst!

Nach 5 Jahren quasi überfällig ist es definitiv an der Zeit, daß einer der am meisten für ihren Sound respektierten Technoproduzenten nach mehr als 100 Produktionen und Remixes auf szenerelevanten Labels wie Chris Liebing`s "CLR", Techniasia`s "SINO", dem englischen Technoaushängeschild "Sleaze Records", dem legendären Harthouse oder auch kürzlich auf Sven Väth`s "Cocoon Recordings" nun erneut ein Techno-Statement in Form eines Full-Length-Albums zu setzen.

Und genau hierfür kam nur eine Plattform in Frage: Alex` eigenes Label "Credo", das vor allem in den letzten beiden Jahren mit seinen eindrucksvollen Releasaes mehr als durchgestartet ist.

* Hospital Records present their latest compilation 'Fast Soul Music' - a welcomed lesson in the art of soul-inspired drum & bass of the high-speed variety. After nineteen years spent building upon it's lounge-core esthetic their extensive library of smooth-rolling sounds is at the ready, now it's time to get retrospective.

Revered Belgian DJ and producer Mugwump proudly presents his longawaited debut album on his Subfield imprint. An impeccable nine track LP, informed by two decades as a globe-trotting DJ, producing tracks that have inspired everyone from Andrew Weatherall to Mr. Scruff. A mainstay from the Belgian club scene, on the ground in Ibiza in the early 90's, behind the cult Food Club in the late 90's, now running his own Leftorium clubnight in Brussels, with releases on the highly influential Kompakt label but also on R&S, Gigolo, Cocoon, Gigolo, Eskimo, Permanent Vacation or Throne of Blood... Concept e25 is back! Wax Classic 15 sees Concept e25's third release on the label in the space of just a year! The demand has been overwhelming for more garage house hits with that added subtle, French flourish. We heard those cries, so here we have another slammin' four track record from the man himself! The opening track of the EP, 'Sing!', is destined for greatness this summer on dance floors everywhere. For me, this will be the go-to track of the record for most DJs out there. On this track, Concept e25 combines a pumping Kerri style bassline with beautiful sustained chords, feel good vox cuts and the occasional sax line. Proper hands-in-the-air vibes here! 'Giving It' takes the EP into a deeper realm, one that evokes images of late evening summer sunsets. However, the garage swing and signature Concept e25 bass sound is still present. 'Lies' leads with moody chords before introducing a vocal that will be stuck in your head for a long time! Again, we have a smooth sax line to accompany the vocal up to the track's climax. Rounding out this solid release is 'Feel This Way'. Here, the punchy bass hits are united with an acid line that bubbles underneath, before being unleashed halfway through the track in a warehouse-reminiscent burst of resonance.

There is something singularly unique and peculiar in the degree to which seemingly unsettling themes and extreme taboos have been explored, most notably in the medium of film, in the land of Nippon. Free from the constraints of reality, notions of grotesque brutality, torture, fetishism, and sadomasochism, to name a few, have oftentimes served as driving motifs in the examination of the true nature of violence latent in the most repressed reaches of the human mind. Concurrently, in the realm of electronic music, many Japanese producers have often been able to cultivate and harness a daring yet distinctly refined and inimitable form of organized sonic chaos, one almost instantly recognizable to the occidental ear. The music of Tomohiko Sagae, and in particular his latest contribution to Furanum's catalogue, The Spurt of Blood, is perhaps a quintessential example of the confluence of the former themes and latter medium.
At the outset of the record, the beholder is faced with the 'Vacant Eyes' of a staggering monstrosity, a subdued and subjugated automata in the midst of a bleak dystopia, nearly lifeless but for the grudgingly conceded advance of its death march. As a battery of gratuitous aural violence led by a dominant synth is rapidly unleashed in the subsequent composition, a growing malaise transforms into fractured bone and psyche alike, with no distinction made anymore between the tearing of metal, flesh, or the fabric of the mind. Culminating in 'Severe Pain', with limits of endurance breached and descent into madness the only seeming form of respite, relentlessly rolling drums and hauntingly sublime howls provide the context for the dawning realization of pain as a virtue in and of itself, when a demented pleasure and the exhilarative liberation that lies therein begins to emerge. In the final act, reinterpreted by Furanum stalwarts Uncto, roles are tellingly reversed as the vacant eyes of the victim become that of the oppressor. With cold-blooded precision, the original is reengineered into a force of merciless domination, its elements machined and recalibrated for pure power.Words: PSD

Die langerwartete Rückkehr eines Kompakt-Pioniers steht ins Haus: endlich präsentiert REINHARD VOIGT mit RACHANEE neues Solo-Material - das erste 12'-Release unter eigenem Namen seit ALL IN von 2007 (KOMPAKT 168). Zwei beeindruckende Techno-Stücke rangeln hier um die Führungsspitze im Frequenzbereich, erfolgreich die altbewährten Methodiken des Künstlers aufbohrend für eine zeitgenössische Meute am Rande des Abhebens.

Was erste Eindrücke angeht, sammelt der Opener und Titeltrack RACHANEE bereits in den ersten paar Sekunden eifrig Punkte, dank des inspirierten Einsatzes eines hypnotischen Vocalsamples. Eine Lektion in griffigem Minimalismus, ist es vor allem dieser wogende Stimmschnipsel, der den Hörer ins Geschehen zieht - gefolgt von einer stoischen, aber überraschend funkigen Bassline deren Sex-Appeal eindeutig in ihrer Einfachheit liegt. Die DNA des Tracks weist ihn als Verwandten des Outputs von Voigt & Voigt aus - insbesondere deren wendiges Debüt-Album - Die Zauberhafte Welt Der Anderen' (KOMPAKT 274 CD 104) und die Verwendung von Found Footage und Collage-Ästhetik mit attraktiven Rhythmusmustern.

Der rückseitige Klopfer TISCH FÜR ZWEI hat eine etwas andere Mentalität und zeigt offen seine schwindelerregende Vorliebe für oldschoolig schleifende Synth-Spuren - erinnernd an eiskalte Klassiker aus dem Voigtschen Katalog wie etwa How We Rock' (KOMPAKT 72) oder - Supertiel' (KOMPAKT EXTRA 2). Als aufgebockte Reminiszenz und meisterhafte Wiederaneignung dieser traditionellen Kunst der Hirnschraube funktionieren die ausscherenden Synth-Bleeps hier prächtig - sie halten die Beats am Raten und sichern das richtige Maß an Irrsinn in einem Track der exklusiv nur nach eigener Pfeife tanzt. And last but not least, our good friend from Switzerland, mr Salvatore Freda, With the machine-driven futurism of Detroit in his step, and the bounce of Chicago in his shadow, Salvatore Freda is a pure vinyl DJ from Lausanne, Switzerland. With a production career that began in 1997, Freda has built up an impressive discography over the years. His music has touched some of techno and house's most respected labels including Trapez, Music Man Records, Liebe Detail, Freerange, Area Remote, Push Communications, Dessous, Nightvision, and Cadenza.

Ein wahrer Überraschungserfolg in unserem 2014er Release-Kalender, führte VERMONTs gleichnamiges Debüt-Album die Hörerschaft an eine überraschend andersartige Seite des musikalischen Schaffens der beiden Projektgründer MARCUS WORGULL und DANILO PLESSOW (aka Motor City Drum Ensemble) heran. Mit VERMONT - THE PRINS THOMAS VERSIONS betritt nun ein weiterer, hochverehrter Held zeitgenössischer Tanzflure die Bühne: der norwegische Disco-Connaisseur und Bootleg-Experte PRINS THOMAS taucht mit drei brillianten Neubearbeitungen tief in die VERMONT'schen Klangwelten hinab und betont die rhythmischen Elemente der originalen Album-Tracks DYNAMIK, ELEKTRON und MACCHINA - ohne jedoch deren zurückgelehnten Grundgestus zu verraten. Er tut dies unter Zuhilfenahme von luftiger angelegten Varianten klassischer Tanzmusik-Stile - Techno, House, sogar eine Prise Dub Reggae - und lässt diese die Hauptbeinarbeit versehen. Das Ergebnis präsentiert sich dementsprechend so drängend wie nötig und so entspannt wie möglich.

Erlend Øye is a skinny nerd, but maybe that's what makes him a pop star. His huge thick spectacle-lenses act as an interface between his inner life and his numerous collaborators and fans. Erlend Øye is a travelling singer-songwriter, who has been making music in various constellations since the late nineties. He sang for Röyksopp, while his own bands are Kings of Convenience and The Whitest Boy Alive, who recently split up. A laid back, everyday vibe runs through Erlend Øye's music. Erlend is not larger than life, at the most his songs may be. The pop star from next-door doesn't make any drama, but leaves that to life itself. His relaxed, laid back sound opens your eyes and ears for places, situations and encounters. A certain mournfulness runs through the songs, although they deal with a longing for self-fulfilment. Erlend sings of loneliness, and in doing so, he creates a 'we'. Until now Erlend's projects have often been based on simple concepts - two guitars and two vocals with Kings of Convenience, and four instruments with The Whitest Boy Alive. With his new solo album he frees himself of these parameters; for the first time everything is possible, for the first time Erlend Øye stands alone. The songs on 'Legao' were arranged and recorded with the Icelandic reggae band Hjálmar.

The magic of 'Legao' lies in the fact that Erlend's vulnerable vocals and his sincere lyrics are supported by the elegance and consistency of the band. Today roughness is often used to counterbalance roughness, whereas on Legao a equilibrium is sought - and found. A simplicity, clarity and minimalism is created that is rarely found in pop music. Erlend Øye has grown up. He accomplishes nothing less than the step towards an independent, free-standing solo musician, who can perform in any constellation - with a band, orchestra or alone with a guitar.

Raw District is Belgian duo Vernon Bara and Massimo DaCosta, Under the Vernon&DaCosta moniker, they have released music on labels such as OM Records, AMA Rec, Robsoul, Aroma, OFF, Icon, Doubledown and many more of the world's finest underground house labels.

They have remixed artists such as Brett Johnson, Fred Everything, Style of Eye, Miguel Migs and JT Donaldson and have garnered a reputation as important international producers and DJs with respect paid by great DJs like Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Jones, Mark Farina and DJ Sneak.

Vernon Bara also makes music as Ultrasone alongside Igor Vicente, which is a more techno orientated project that can count releases on Hot Creation and Supplement Facts to its name.

Ladybird is well known for being the singer of Soldiers Of Twilight and vocalist on one of the most famous Llorca's song My Precious Thing among the tons of project she been working for, One of the best, if not the best, soulful singer in Paris,
And now they can add to their resume that there are the very first new release on the briquerouge reboot, Orchestrated by David Duriez himself, the label is back for a new series of releases and reworks from the back catalogue with brand new top names added to the roster.

Sitting down and writing about our latest EP was a fun but challenging exercise, we scratched our heads and this may sound bad but we couldn't think of deep, dark interesting stories on how we made these tracks or what they represent. These jams are simply a combination of previous and random happy accidents that have come together and saying anything else would be a lie. This however does not mean that the thinking behind them is completely random, the three cuts that we selected for this EP we feel are a journey of experimentation and a culmination of unexpected sounds and feelings. A word that we found best described the EP was 'Irony'. The most ironic thing we feel is that the main basis of these tracks were born on the stage during our live performances and they have now been reworked and moulded into a record. We however feel that this brings an interesting element to the EP that yes it is recorded and set, but you are not quite sure where the next sound or feeling will come from. A hi hat A kick It is pure 'organised randomness'... I suppose we should talk about some of the music and try and explain what we mean! We start with 'Pe dos', which in plain English means inside out and it was a track that we had started back in 2011. We were flicking through our 'curiosity closets' one day and found it, we played around with it and heard a kick drum that was not arranged correctly in the sequence due to a random manipulation of the sequencer. Our first thought was to just change it, but then we decided to wait..... when all the other sounds of the tracks came together we threw the kick back in and BAM, Even the acapella voice of the track was screaming. Therefore it was a simple for us to name this track as we worked on it in a completely back to front and 'Inside Out' way!

Trek With Quintronic are the duo, formed from the ashes of prog rock band Masque in 1979. They recorded two pioneering albums of unique electronic rock. 'Landing Plus' compiles the complete discography of Trek With Quintronic on a double vinyl for the first time in over 30 years. Trek With Quintronic wrote songs with a powerful sound, myriads of compositional ideas, synthetic noises and catchy melodies. Paul's rather unique vocals lie somewhere between David Bowie and Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs.nThis collection highlights a lost duo with a big sound on par with Ultravox, Human League, OMD or Devo
