Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis and Winona Ryder. The plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious New York City company. Usually described as a psychological thriller, Black Swan can also be interpreted as a metaphor for achieving artistic perfection, with all the psychological and physical challenges one might encounter.

The original score for the film was composed by Clint Mansell, an English musician, composer, and former lead singer of the band Pop Will Eat Itself. Mansell was introduced to film scoring when director Darren Aronofsky hired him to score his debut film, Pi. Ever since Mansell wrote the score for many of Aronofsky’s films. Notable additional film scores include The Fountain, Moon, Smokin’ Aces, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Doom, and High-Rise.

Sun Wukong (The Monkey King) is a monkey born from a heavenly stone who acquires supernatural powers. After rebelling against heaven and being imprisoned under a mountain for 500 years, he later accompanies the monk Xuanzang on a journey to India. Thus, according to legend, Buddhism is brought to ancient China. This much beloved story, is as much a part of Asian culture as The Iliad and The Odyssey or The Wizard of Oz are to the West.

The 2014 action-fantasy film Monkey King - Havoc In Heaven's Place was directed by Soi Cheang, Starring Donnie Yen as the titular protagonist Sun Wukong. A Hong Kong-Chinese co-production, Yen also serves as the film's action director. The film co-stars Donald Chow, Aaron Kwok, Joe Chen and Peter Ho. The music was composed by Christopher Young.

In China, The Monkey King was highly succesful and became only the third Chinese film to earn more than a billion yuan at the Chinese box office.

Lush Life is the Sonar Kollektiv debut EP by German singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Flo Naegeli.

Originally hailing from the Bavarian forests of southeastern Germany, Naegeli began his musical journey at the age of seven as a folk accordionist, later switching to electric guitar and developing a disciplined approach to songwriting and musicianship that led to formal music studies and a professional career. France's near-revolution of May '68 was the zenith of that generation's struggle for a new kind of life. It kicked the country's small, but vibrant, counter-culture into overdrive, and birthed a local underground music scene. The bands it spawned made music with much less rock purity than groups from the UK and US. Their musical and cultural influences foregrounded improvisation, disjunction, and genre-blending: Soft Machine, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, free jazz, and radical politics. The introduction of the synthesiser in the early 1970s added fuel to the fire.

This collection of French underground music inaugurates a series to accompany "Synths, Sax & Situationists", the first English-language book to investigate this movement. It focuses on the music of the second wave of bands that emerged in 1972/3, which saw radicalised psychedelic and jazz influences merge with the future-music possibilities offered by new technology. Motown Records: The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves and The Vandelas and, of course, The Temptations. It is antithetical to mention any of those without the others. The community of artists started as the Sound of Young America, but as history has proven, it became the sound, the look and the inspiration of so much more. And now, little nuggets of Motown's influence can be found the world over. David Ruffin, founding member of Motown superstars The Temptations, went on to become a successful solo artist even after he left the group. In 1969, Ruffin released two fantastic solo records, My Whole World Ended and Feelin' Good. Between 1970 and 1971 he recorded what was to be his third long playing solo record. However, his career was suddenly put on hold when Motown, for reasons unclear, shelved the album that had been dubbed David. The record had even been assigned a catalog number and final artwork. Ruffin returned in 1973 with a brand new LP titled David Ruffin (treated officially as his third LP) and the previously recorded album David sat on the shelves, unheard for decades. This deluxe 2xLP set features the original, rare David LP, plus an LP of bonus tracks and mono single mixes all packaged in a beautiful gatefold jacket, featuring extensive liner notes and striking color photographs of Ruffin. His red and yellow suede suit featured in the interior gatefold LP jacket is an absolute must-see! The record was cut and pressed at Third Man's Detroit HQ, just a couple miles away from the original Motown HQ. Calvin Love is a Canadian singer-songwriter, composer, and producer from Edmonton, Alberta, now based between Edmonton and Los Angeles. With a sound that blends noir-tinged folk‑pop, crooning rock ’n’ roll, and cinematic storytelling, Love has become a distinctive voice in the international indie landscape. His music has drawn comparisons to Roy Orbison, Leonard Cohen, and Bryan Ferry, with Aquarium Drunkard describing his work as “a crestfallen soundtrack of near‑escape… like Chris Isaak trapped in a David Lynch film.”

The sessions brought together a formidable live band: Josh Da Costa (Drugdealer) on drums, Brent Randall (Vanity Mirror) on bass, Davey Chegwidden (De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Too Short) on percussion, Jeremy Brian Gill (Curtis Harding) on tenor saxophone and flutes, Daniel E. Garcia (Reverend Baron) on lead guitars, and multi‑instrumentalist Laena Myers (White Fence, Orville Peck, El Mariachi Bronx) on violin.
From the hypnotic sway of “Underneath It All,” to the reverb‑drenched sax of “Forever Feels,” to the heavy sludge‑rock crush of “Setting Sun,” Throw My Shadow To The Sun draws from the lyrical storytelling of Dire Straits, the laid‑back blues of JJ Cale, and the timeless melodic drama of Roy Orbison. Dorian Concept returns with "Miniatures," a collection of his renowned one-take synthesizer recordings that he’s been known for sharing online since the mid-2000s. “This release was right under my nose” he says. Over the past two decades, Dorian Concept has uploaded videos of himself "fooling around" on various synthesizers and keyboards – long before the rise of short-form content. These signature one- to two-minute performances have sparked countless covers, remixes and reinterpretations by musicians and producers alike. Through this project, Dorian Concept aims to celebrate a long-standing bond with his instruments and honor it in the form of a photo album.

In his own words:

As a kid, every night before bed, I would sit in the same place and draw a comic. I rarely finished them, but I couldn’t go to sleep without having started one. These "Miniatures" and the preceding videos I’ve recorded come from the same place. They’re the expression of a ritual.
Around 2020, I created a compact setup using three devices – a mono synthesizer, an analogue reverb and a looper –which I separated from the rest of the studio. Every day, before I started working, I would improvise on this small setup and at the end of every month, I would record a video and share it with the world. These songs were made in front of you, in a Truman-Show like fashion.
Now they feel like diary-entries that capture the timeline of a deepening relationship, the harvest of limitation and repetition, and the beauty of simplicity.

The cover art is a drawing by the esteemed Austrian artist Leopold Strobl (courtesy of Gallery Gugging), who is known for his distinctive small-format work. The closing track, “An Unopened Letter,” features the genre-defying guitarist and producer Bibio.

Der Grammy-nominierte Altsaxofonist Immanuel Wilkins veröffentlicht sein erstes Live-Album, aufgenommen in der legendären New Yorker Jazz-Institution Village Vanguard. Wilkins‘ Quartett, bestehend aus
Micah Thomas am Klavier, Ryoma Takenaga am Bass und Kweku Sumbry am Schlagzeug, entfaltet in dem

Auf seinem zweiten Blue-Note-Album “Tonic” kehrte das experimentelle Jazz-Fusion-Trio Medeski Martin & Wood zu seinen akustischen Wurzeln zurück. Aufgenommen wurde “Tonic” im März 1999 in dem
gleichnamigen Club in der Lower East Side von Manhattan. Während ihres neuntägigen Engagements spielten John Medeski (Klavier und Melodica), Billy Martin (Schlagzeug und Percussion) sowie Chris Wood
(Bass) neben abenteuerlichen Eigenkompositionen auch Coverversionen von Lee Morgan, Bud Powell, John

Die Legendary Edition ist eine Neuauflage des Debütalbums von Aerosmith. Diese neu abgemischte und
remasterte Ausgabe enthält zeitlose Klassiker wie „Mama Kin“, „Movin’ Out“, „Make It“ sowie die unvergessliche Hymne „Dream On“.

Der Ton von ...Famous Last Words wurde in den Abbey Road Studios von Miles Showell übertragen und
von Co-Produzent Peter Henderson überwacht, wo sie das 1/2-Speed-Master schnitten, das zum Pressen
des Vinyls verwendet wurde. Die LP wurde auf 180 g schwerem schwarzem Vinyl gepresst. Das 1982
veröffentlichte Album ist das siebte und letzte Studioalbum der Gruppe mit Roger Hodgson.

The Buenos Aires–based producer’s second album on Umor Rex can be read on at least two levels. The most direct traces its origin to the influence of environmental music, as well as to some pioneers of electronic music. The album was recorded in a single session, making extensive use of loops that were later edited and condensed into the six pieces that make up Pequeño clima doméstico. This working method responds to a playful approach that runs through Entidad Animada’s musical intentions, which often start from a specific genre or aesthetic and then filter it through his own language.

From a more conceptual perspective, the record proposes music as a tool capable of modifying the perception of a moment. Rather than closed songs, the album functions as a device that allows one to tune a state, transform a space, or alter a mood. In this sense, it engages with the idea of functional music not as a utilitarian background, but as a means to equalize time, slow the pace, and reconfigure the listener’s emotional climate.

Mit "Galgenlieder" präsentiert der Club der toten Dichter sein Jubiläumsprojekt zum 20-jährigen Bestehen - eine außergewöhnliche Neuvertonung der legendären Gedichte Christian Morgensterns. Dessen skurriler Humor, philosophische Tiefe und spielerische Leichtigkeit bilden die ideale Grundlage für Reinhardt Repkes musikalische Neuinterpretationen, die den berühmten Texten wie "Der Lattenzaun", "Das Mondschaf" oder "Der Werwolf" ein zeitgemäßes, berührendes Klanggewand verleihen. Für dieses achte Programm des Clubs konnte Schauspieler Hans-Werner Meyer als Gastsänger gewonnen werden. Seine spontane Begeisterung - und seine persönliche Verbindung zu Morgensterns Lyrik - prägen den intensiven Vortrag zwischen Ironie, Wärme und feiner Melancholie. Begleitet wird er von Markus Runzheimer (Element of Crime), der Bass, Percussion und Gesang beisteuert. Bandgründer Reinhardt Repke zeichnet erneut für die Kompositionen verantwortlich und formt mit Gitarre und Stimme den charakteristischen Sound des Projekts.

The breakthrough album. Enrico Rava's second solo record, recorded in Milan in January 1973 and released on the German BASF label, is nothing less than a cornerstone of Italian jazz-rock - the record that caught Manfred Eicher's attention and opened the doors to ECM. Rava himself has called it his breakthrough, and history proved him right.

The lineup is killer: John Abercrombie on guitar, Bruce Johnson on bass, Chip White on drums. Four musicians operating at the absolute peak of early seventies fusion energy - electric, cosmopolitan, burning with that particular fire that only existed in that brief window when jazz met rock and nobody knew the rules yet. Abercrombie, already on his way to becoming one of the most distinctive voices in electric jazz guitar, delivers some of his most ferocious early work here. White's drumming is relentless, pushing the music forward with an intensity that never lets up.

If Miles' Bitches Brew-era speaks to you, if Ian Carr's Nucleus gets you moving, if you know Sun Ra's Lanquidity and Don Cherry's Relativity Suite by heart - this is essential listening. Rava's vision was already fully formed: South American rhythms, Mediterranean warmth, free jazz ferocity, rock power - all flowing together without borders or categories. By the early seventies, Rava had absorbed everything - the New Thing, the European free scene, the electric revolution coming out of Miles' studio - and forged something entirely his own.

The seven tracks cover serious ground. "Bunny's Pie" introduces the music with an almost cosmic atmosphere of suspense, hovering in that liminal space before it trails off into the up-tempo vibrant frenzy of "Trial N. 5" - Abercrombie and Rava trading swirling solos at full intensity, the rhythm section locked in tight. "Dimenticare Stanca" moves from Rava's expressive balladic intro into pure funk, guitar and trumpet steering over the rhythmic drive with absolute confidence. The title track carries the lyrical feel and cadence of an Incan-Peruvian folksong - that cosmopolitan spirit made audible. "Fluid Connection" rides a funky bass riff into fusion heaven, with standout trumpet and guitar solos that build and release with perfect tension. "Cheerin' Cherry" pays homage to the great Don Cherry - Rava's spiritual mentor and fellow traveler in world music - exploring a North African soundscape that points toward the global jazz to come. Johnson's "Peace" closes the album with a minute and a half of serene, blissful calm - a moment of stillness after the storm.

This audiophile reissue - cut from the original masters, pressed by Pallas in Germany on 180gm vinyl, housed in a thick laminated hand-glued gatefold - does full justice to an album that remains a collector's holy grail.

El Calefóns 1985er LP "Salir Del Agujero" ist ein seltenes Juwel. Das in Zürich selbstproduzierte und in Eigenregie veröffentlichte Album stammt von einer der wenigen südamerikanischen Bands, die sich zu der Zeit in Europa aufhielten. Gegründet von den Argentiniern Coqui Reca (Komponist, Sänger, Multiinstrumentalist) und Pablo Miguez (Gitarre), bestanden El Calefón aus argentinischen und brasilianischen Musikern, die ursprünglich als Touristen gekommen waren, aber ohne offizielle Genehmigung als Immigranten blieben. Ihre Musik schöpfte aus den vielfältigen indigenen Stilen ihrer beiden Heimatländer und verschmolz sie mit den internationalen Klängen von Rock, Jazz und Pop. Das anspruchsvoll-originelle Album hat auch nach 40 Jahren nichts von seiner Frische eingebüßt und verströmt tropische Wärme und Lebensfreude – ein Zeugnis der unbeschwerten musikalischen Freiheit einer wechselvollen Musikära.

On stage, the adventure takes its most daring form. Instead of relying on the original vintage synths, the trio reinterprets the studio’s electronic textures with a streamlined setup designed for live performances.

The songs of this exciting experiment are collected on a self-titled album, to be released on March 20th 2026 via Marcel Records. First single 'The Happy Are Being Born' is out on January 8th.

The Grace EPs by legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, is a 19-track, five x EP box set, comprising the following EPs: 'Peyote Radio Theatre' July 1994, 'Last Goodbye' January 1995, 'So Real' [June 1995], 'Live From The Bataclan' [October 1995] and 'The Grace EP' [February 1996],

This unique package contains all five twelve inch vinyl records each in their own full colour jacket, a double sided full colour insert with extensive liner notes, all carefully packed in a heavyweight leather laminate textured 15mm-spined outer sleeve.

The five discs that make up the Grace EPs box-set are a collection of live performances, B-sides and studio versions from songs that originally appeared on Buckley's "Grace" album.

Peyote Radio Theatre and So Real were promotional-only releases that weren't commercially available. The others are rare imports: Live from the Bataclan came out in France, The Grace EP in Australia, and Last Goodbye in Japan,

This EP set features "Last Goodbye", "Grace", "So Real" and two amazing live versions of his classic hits "Hallelujah" & "Mojo Pin".

The Grace EPs also features a whopping 12-minute version of Van Morrison's "The Way Young Lovers Do," a medley of "Je N'En Connais Pas la Fin/Hymne A l'Amour," Hank Williams's "Lost Highway," and a 14-minute take on Alex Chilton's "Kanga-Roo."
Finally there is a bonus track added to the The Grace EP; "Tongue," a spooky ambient 11-minute studio instrumental.

Nikaido Kazumi’s acclaimed and enduring masterpiece "Nijimi", originally released in 2011, returns on vinyl. The album eventually led to her performing
the theme song “Inochi no Kioku” for Studio Ghibli’s The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. Filled with songs capturing her heartfelt emotions and charm—such

The ridiculously prolific Bay Area band Thee Oh Sees are back with another full-length long-player. Warm Slime is guaranteed to please fans of their whacked-out garage / psych / punk jams. Recorded by Sacramento sultan of sound Chris Woodhouse, Warm Slime carries on in the same tradition as the group's previous In The Red release, Help, showcasing their more electrified and rocking side, in comparison to other recent home-recorded releases. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the mind-bending title track, which clocks in at nearly 14 minutes and takes up the entirety of the album's first side. It's a psychedelic epic of "Inna Gadda Da Vida" proportions! John Dwyer's guitar playing is at its quadraspazzed best here, and the vocal interplay with Brigid Dawson gives it a B-52s-at-their-least-cheesy-crossed-with-the- Troggs vibe. The results are stunning. "Thee Oh Sees incorporate the oft-referenced Nuggets stuff in a way that feels reverential.
