Rubisco opens up a new chapter with its first VA release. 'Molecules I' couples bass-heavy club tools with atmospheric late-night vibes and features some of the freshest talents around.

Everybody who knows Connaisseur, will probably be aware of the fact that we simply love the concept of remixes. To fnd the right person for a specifc track in order to turn an already amazing original into a new direction, is always an exciting challenge. Of course, there is always some wishful thinking on our side about what it will turn out to be like. Usually, we are completely wrong, which however doesn't mean that we are not happy with the result. Usually, we love the result even more than our own brainchild. In April, we released Of Norway's sophomore album
"The Loneliest Man In Space", a diverse masterpiece.
Since then, we have been searching for remixers whom we personally really like and of whom we are sure they can turn the track into a direction we can't even imagine. It was a bit of a journey, but now after the product ist completed, we are more than happy that we were able to bring such a group of remixers
together on one product.
As every remixer has delivered such a great interpretation, we decided to give each of themenough space to be discovered, which is why we will be releasing one remix per week over the course of two months. A selection of these remixes can be found
on a 12" extract. One extra remix is exclusively for radio and streaming.
For the vinyl extract we picked the interpretations by Lauer, Panthera Krause, Legowelt, Davis & Zopelar and Roy Of The Ravers.

Brexit Jazz (the never ending story). A full spectrum Compost release from House to Hooligan-Jazz, Downbeat, Disco to Freestyle. Brexit Jazz are Roberto Di Gioia (Marsmobil / Web Web), Jan Krause (Beanfield) and Michael Reinboth (head of Compost).

Spell PETS backwards to get STEP. Spell STEP forwards and you get PETS going back to basics. STEP is the new vinyl-only label from the founders of PETS - Catz n Dogz - with a focus on the rawest forms and root functions of dance music. STEP searches for the fundamentals with under-the-radar house and techno that's not afraid to be rough around the edges. It's all about the music.

Drum roll, people! SL009 is on its way. The recipe has not changed: limited quantity, hand numbered / stamped records and superior music. We take you on a unique house journey to explore the texture of sound and the color of feelings, from raw to deep all the way down to acid, carried on our VA format spaceship. Onboard, four artists, Yusuke and Jimini part of 'Serie Limitée' crew and two new comers Panthera Krause and mOnster Heart Driver who are joining the family.

After a short break Unison Wax returns with a brand new four-track collection of music from the bossman himself, Diego Krause. The Berliner took a year off in 2016, concentrating on other projects and letting the label have a rest, but now he's back with a refined sound. Unison Wax embodies a more sophisticated aesthetic, with warm analogue hues and subtle textures to push things forward a little. After all, we couldn't come back from a break without progressing, huh!
First out of the blocks is 'Nihilate', which helps introduce this updated Unison Wax sound, crisp beats lock us into a groove in conjunction with a dainty selection of analogue effects and a funky little b-line. Diego carefully adds new elements as the track progresses, keeping you interested right until the end.
Next is the title track, 'Rituals', which kicks off with an insistent bassline and spellbinding percussion that keeps you gripped from the off. He throws in some claps to add energy and muted pads, which slowly rise to prominence, giving the track an emotive atmosphere which wraps itself around you. One for the eternal dreamers...
Flip the record over for side B and 'Dysfunction', which turns things grimy. Marauding beats and bass conspire to create a morose atmosphere. Diego's penchant for super sharp beats is present here again, and the energy builds slowly but surely. A new layer creeps in every few bars and sucks you right into the track's lair. Expertly done, and impossible to resist, this is darkside pressure at its best.
'Eudaimonia' rounds things off, with more deep grooves. Initially propelled by minimal percussion, the track really gets going when more beats are added. It maintains a laid back feeling and, while the drums are solid, the atmosphere is mostly quite soft with swirling pads keeping things light in the top end. When they fall away towards the end of the track we have a rather gnarly close to the composition, as the beats and bass take over.
And there it is, the welcome return of Unison Wax - smooth and refined for 2017...

Sie wollten eigentlich nur einen Track zusammen aufnehmen, für die gemeinsame Japan Tournee im letzten Frühling. Auf der Tour sollten Springintgut und F.S. Blumm ihre aktuellen Solo-Alben*) in neun japanischen Städten präsentieren, ein gemeinsamer Track als Zugabe konnte dabei nicht schaden. Das Duo entpuppte sich als Selbstläufer: Aus einem Track wurden im Handumdrehen siebzehn! Wenn man bedenkt, dass beide Künstler für ihre jeweiligen Solo-Alben sechs Jahre gebraucht haben, ist es umso erstaunlicher, dass sie - The Bird And White Noise' innerhalb von zwei Monaten eingespielt haben.

The cover of Panthera Krause's last Riotvan EP already featured a little doggy. His new piece Laika extends this tradition on a larger scale and is devoted to one of the most famous four-legged friends in history. Laika was the first dog in space and the most adequate epitome of the spirit that is inherent in Panthera's pieces.
