See You At The Maypole, the sixth full-length album in Half Waif"s prolific catalog, is a recognition of personal sadness, and a call to ecstatic togetherness. It"s gathering the colors of our spirit, in all its shades, and making something intricate and remarkable. The ceremonial folk dance performed around a maypole is filled with fauna and flora, with ribbons woven into complex braids incapable of unraveling; these dances are survivals of ancient ritual, honoring the living trees, and the return of Spring and fertility. These patterns -- this dance -- cannot be completed alone, and so, Half Waif welcomes others to join her, a collective of bleeding color. "We are so much stronger for the colorful experiences we go through," she says. "That"s where we find our humanity and find each other." While the seclusion of grief feels infinite, Rose brought the songs to her trusted friend and longtime collaborator of the past decade, Zubin Hensler. The pair worked away from others for Mythopoetics, carefully crafting each note and flourish themselves but something else was needed for See You At The Maypole. To that end, Hensler and Rose welcomed a wealth of players and friends into the world of the record: Jason Burger and Zack Levine on drums and percussion; Josh Marre (Blue Ranger) on guitar; Hannah Epperson and Elena Moon Park on violin; Kristina Teuschler on clarinet; Willem de Koch on trombone; Rebecca El-Saleh on harp; and Spencer Zahn on upright bass. Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver) lent his deft mixing skills to many of the tracks, including lead single "Figurine." "This wasn"t just my story, I wanted to say. It was every story of loss-the loss of a life, the loss of a dream, the loss of trust and hope and faith. A story of finding a way back again," Rose explains. "My own avenue back to the land of the living was through my relationships with people and with the natural world. It only seemed right that these songs would invite those people in to build the very heart of the sound."

Die breite Soundwand, die das Trio um Gitarrist und Sample-Meister Carsten Wagner, Sänger und Bassist Daniel Brangs und Drummer Andrew Collar kreiert und erneut in der Tonmeisterei bei Role Wiegner in Oldenburg auf Band gebannt hat, bestätigt diese Vermutung. Aber da sind ja auch noch die prägenden, markanten dunklen Elemente, die als Gegenpol eine sphärische Dynamik schaffen, die zwischen hypnotisch und eruptiv pendelt. Und das funktioniert nicht nur vor der Bühne, sondern auch auf der Tanzfläche. Die deutschen Texte von Sänger Daniel behandeln aktuelle Themen und Sorgen in gewohnt KONTROLLE-typischen Passagen, die oft mit einem Augenzwinkern auch politisch Stellung beziehen. Bisweilen spielen sogar Alltags- und Haushaltsgegenstände nicht zu unterschätzende Rollen in der ,kontrollierten" Beschreibung der deutschen Realität. Die Covergestaltung lag erneut in der Hand von Schlagzeuger Andrew, der diesmal neue Wege beschritt: Hunderte selbst geschossene Fotos bildeten den Grundstock für eine Collage von original ca. 1,5 m x 2 m. Alle Bilder wurden in mühevoller Kleinarbeit ausgeschnitten und zusammengestellt. Das Gatefoldcover ist somit ein Kunstwerk für sich und eröffnet mit jedem Blick neue Details. Erscheinen wird die LP am 27.09.2024, wieder auf dem für handgemachte Releases geschätzten Kölner Label Holy Goat Records. Mit seinem neuen Projekt begibt sich Star-Pianist Daniil Trifonov auf eine ganz persönliche musikalische
Reise über die Kontinente Amerikas. Das erste von insgesamt zwei Alben, My American Story – North,
beginnt in den USA. Dort verbrachte Trifonov fast die Hälfte seines Lebens. Das vielfältige Repertoire
des Albums »hat mir den Zugang zu vielen Perspektiven, Stilen, Kulturen, Orten, Menschen, Geschichten
und Ausdrucksformen eröffnet, die mein Amerika-Erlebnis geformt und geprägt haben«, sagt Trifonov.
Die ausgewählten Werke reichen von Jazz und Swing zu Minimal Music und populärer Filmmusik. Zwei
Klavierkonzerte bilden den Rahmen des Album: Gershwin’s beliebtes Konzert in F sowie die Weltpremiere
eines von Mason Bates eigens für Trifonov komponierten Konzerts. Beide werden vom Philadelphia Orchestra unter Yannick Nézet-Séguin begleitet. Zusätzlich enthält das Album Solowerke von John Adams,

Wie viele seiner Zeitgenossen, begann der Hardbopper Donald Byrd sich Ende der 1960er Jahre auf seinen
Alben mit dem neuen Genre der Fusion-Musik auseinanderzusetzen. “Kofi” entstand 1969 und 1970 bei
Sessions mit zwei unterschiedlich besetzten, aber gleichermaßen hochkarätigen Ensembles, mit denen sich
Byrd auf rundum überzeugende Weise auf das neue stilistische Terrain vortastete, ohne gleich ganz von

Earlier this year we were excited to announce the return of one of our most beloved bands of recent years: New Street Adventure. To mark the 10th Anniversary of their debut album ‘No Hard Feelings’, on 4 October we are releasing a special, limited edition olive green colour vinyl reissue. The release will coincide with an extensive UK tour.

‘About eighteen months ago, someone asked if I had a spare vinyl copy of ‘No Hard Feelings’. I checked the shelves, and found my own copy and no more. I checked Discogs and saw that it was changing hands for far more than an 8-year-old album should be. Released in the pre-vinyl-revival years, its limited original pressing means that demand is now out-stripping supply – a measure of just how good this record is. With that in mind Nick Corbin and I hatched a plot for a 10th Anniversary reissue, and here it is!

I loved New Street Adventure. They were smart, looked great on stage, and in Nick was one of the best front-men and songwriters I have ever worked with. With their own ecosystem of self promoted gigs, they created their own audience, and for a while it looked like a major label deal was in the offing. Eddie Piller had wanted to sign them from the first time he met Nick, and when the big deal didn’t happen, he was still there for the band as they became an Acid Jazz act in 2013.

There were endless back-and-forths on how the album should sound (and some despair that it wasn’t quite sounding as good as it should have). Then Mitch Ayling came on board to produce the final mix. He brought out the songs, lifted the playing, delivering the shiny finished recording that took its place as one of the finest moments in the Acid Jazz catalogue. Nick’s songs now sparkled. As his love of soul shone through, his politically and socially aware lyrics showed a rare, wry observational gaze that was turned on 21st Century life. From the warnings against populist hatred of ‘On Our Front Doorstep’, to the hopeless ennui of ‘Foot In The Door’, and the day-to-day pursuits of being in your twenties in a big city. Through it all shines a passion – sometimes coming out as anger – that drives the music. It is of course encapsulated in ‘The Big A.C.’, written about the night that Nick’s dad took him to the 6Ts Allnighter at the 100 Club, which brought him into the world of Northern Soul. It’s a classic that nails the feeling of excitement as well as anything written.

The album was released late in 2014 and for those who want a vinyl copy – even the CDs cost a fair penny now – we have prepared this special 10th Anniversary Edition on transparent olive-green coloured vinyl. The inner sleeve is illustrated with never-before seen photos from the archive, both candid and by early band supporter Dean Chalkley, and has sleeve notes by Nick and myself. Nick is taking New Street back on tour this Autumn, and it you would be foolish (once more) to miss either the tour or the record.’

Hailing from the southern edge of Finland, BATTLE BEAST were founded in 2008 and soon established themselves with their trademark of pure crunching riffs, high screams, blistering solos and strong choruses. “I thirst to go further as a human being and the music on this album represents a part of the ongoing spiritual journey - that's what I tend to I call it - which is my road onward. Music-wise the songs have been expanded to a wider area as an effort to call out emotions close to those I myself had during the times of birth of these songs,” commented guitarist & vocalist Anton Kabanen about »Unholy Savior«. “Like always, I wrote songs about the series "Berserk", as well, and the reason behind writing songs about that particular series is that I can strongly relate to that, especially to certain characters and to their way of thinking and feeling,” Anton adds.

Aufgepasst, hier kommt nicht einfach "nur" ein neues Album, sondern eine Hommage an den wilden 80er Oi! und Streetpunk-Underground der etwas anderen Art: Sunny Bastards proudly presents: "BELIN EI PIAZII" der legendären, italienischen Kultband KLASSE KRIMINALE! 1980 von Marco Belestrino gegründet, haben sich die Italiener genau mit dieser Ära und den Wurzeln der italienisch-europäischen Skinhead- und Punkbewegung auf ihrer neuen Scheibe befasst und 15 "lost songs" von berühmt-berüchtigten oder heute nur noch wenigen geläufigen Bands neu eingespielt: Rohe Diamanten, Spaß, kämpferische Rebellion- und Hass-Hymnen sowie obskure Beiträge von Bands, wie den Herberts, Total Crash, Gangland oder Shellshock, die zusammen mit Klasse Kriminale damals die Strassen unsicher gemacht haben und im Proberaum oder auf DIY-Konzerten schnell zum Soundtrack einer rebellischen Jugend wurden. Klasse Kriminale hat diese bislang nie veröffentlichten Songs ganz im Spirit und Stil dieser Anfangstage aufgenommen und verbinden mit dieser Zeit jede Menge Erinnerungen, die auf 4 Seiten im Inlay-Sheet in englisch und italienisch auch sehr persönlich beschrieben werden! Und wenn vom Plattenteller dazu noch Lieder wie "Ziga Zaga Oi! Oi! The year 1996 saw the release of Arab Strap’s first single, “The First Big Weekend,” and debut album The Week Never Starts Round Here. Into an underground rock milieu preoccupied at the time with slo-core, math rock, and all things Pet Sounds, the duo of Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat couldn’t have sounded more alien.

In many ways, The Week Never Starts Round Here bears all the marks of a debut: it’s raw, unguarded, and crammed with ideas. It also firmly establishes the particular set-up that would define Arab Strap’s sound over the course of eleven years, with Middleton handling the music while Moffat provides the vocals and lyrics. Even this division of labor—more common to rap music than to the shoegazers and increasingly ubiquitous “collectives” of indie rock—seemed to defy expectations.

The sound of Arab Strap is a distinct brand of existential miserablism. Middleton’s cleverly arranged foundation of nocturnal guitars and rudimentary drum machines provides a canvas for Moffat to relay, in a thick Scottish dialect, his many sloshed, candid confessions. Long before artists like Mike Skinner chronicled the picaresque days of lads getting pissed and getting laid, Arab Strap’s vivid tales of lovers, lager and shame were being broadcast on college stations everywhere.

The Week Never Starts Round Here is an album full of drugged-up kisses and dried up egos; it chronicles the conquests and knockbacks of weekends that last forever, and it does so unapologetically, poetically, and profanely. Indie rock would never be the same.

Parallel zum digitalen Release veröffentlicht die Schweizer Künstlerin LEILA ihre zweite EP "Generation" zusammen mit der ersten "Burnout" EP (2023) als Doppel-EP erstmals auf Vinyl. Auf inhaltlicher Ebene gehen "Burnout" und "Generation" sowieso Hand in Hand, kreist Leila lyrisch doch auf beiden Projekten um die grossen Themen, die ihre Altersgruppe im Jetzt beschäftigen. ZEKE ist eine Punkrock- und Hardcore-Institution, die 1992 in Seattle gegründet, immer noch aktiv ist. Sie machen das, was sie am besten können: lauten, schnellen und schweren Punkrock mit einem Hauch von Blues. In Anlehnung an Motörhead brachten ZEKE aber ein gewisses Punkrock- und Hardcore-Element in das Genre, das viele Bands nach ihnen aufgegriffen haben.

Auf der B- Seite gibt es pure Intensität mit 'The Knife' und man kann sich vorstellen, wie ZEKE einen durch die Nacht fahren und tun, was auch immer sie im Hintergrund tun. Wenn es vorbei ist, fühlt man sich benommen und verwirrt. Wie einer dieser Masochisten, die den Schmerz lieben, will man sich diesem erneut hingeben.

Dawn Richard and Spencer Zahn share a common collaborative ethos, a genuine sense of musical curiosity, and a cosmopolitan eagerness to escape the conventions of genre. That shared vision first brought them together on 2022’s Pigments icy and warm, stripped-down and grand, familiar and otherworldly and now it has reunited them for Quiet in a World Full of Noise. By turns intimate, soul-baring, spectral, and startling, Quiet in a World Full of Noise blends atmospheric and orchestral soundscapes with mellifluous soul, jazz, and journalistic vocalizing driving it all home with stark, confessional lyricism. The new album finds Richard at her most raw and exposed. This year, Richard’s musician father experienced mini strokes while being diagnosed with cancer; and last year, her cousin Cisco was fatally shot seven times in New Orleans. Richard channels the emotional impact of these traumatic experiences of loss into her lyrics and vocal performances, which are left bare and human here, raw and unprocessed across the album. Quiet expands the definitions of what constitutes progressive, avant-garde R&B by rewriting them altogether. On paper, Richard and Zahn’s audacious, impressionistic musical collaborations feel like a surprising match. Richard, a New Orleans–reared visionary, has had an improbable journey from late 2000s reality television and mainstream pop with girl group Danity Kane to become one of the most prolific, experimental, and visible indie R&B singer-songwriters of the last decade and a half, with seven solo albums under her belt. Zahn is an East Coast–raised multi-instrumentalist and composer working at the intersections of jazz, Americana, classical, and ambient pop. His growing solo discography includes People of the Dawn, Sunday Painter, Pale Horizon, and Statues I & II, as well as the duo’s first release, Pigments. “Pigments was one of the best projects I’ve ever made,” Richard says, “and the furthest I’ve ever been pushed as an artist.” The album was a critical hit, hailed as Best New Music by Pitchfork and receiving praise from Stereogum as Album of the Week, NPR Music, Bandcamp Daily, The Fader, Bitter Southerner, and Edition, among many other publications. The making of its follow-up, Quiet in a World Full of Noise, began in 2023 in upstate New York. Fresh from a break-up, Zahn sat at his piano and poured himself into writing and recording instrumental compositions. “I wrote all these stream-of-consciousness pieces on piano, and they were eerie, spacious piano tracks,” he said. He used a piano that had been unconventionally tuned to the room rather than to standard pitch. These oddly-tuned, eerie instrumental recordings were never intended to be an album. Six months later, he listened to the recordings again and sent them to Richard who immediately recognized their potential and said, “Oh, this is the next album.” Richard went into the studio the next day and wrote and recorded melodies and lyrics to Zahn’s piano recordings. Zahn brought in gifted musicians like Bryan Senti on strings (violin, viola, and violoncello da spalla) and CJ Camerieri on brass (French horn, flugelhorn, and trumpet). In some cases, like on the track “Life in Numbers,” Zahn used only the original first-take piano recording and scratch vocal, resulting in an intimate close-up of both Richard and Zahn.

Cindy is to release a new six song EP called Swan Lake on 4th October via Tough Love. The title isn’t a nod to the folktale or ballet in any real way, but to the fact that it all has ended up in the collective imagination as an object, vaguely recognizable, a little suggestive, and mostly blank. Karina Gill, Cindy’s songwriter, likes to make use of that kind of resonance to connect sound and experience. The six songs on this EP continue the stripped-down habits of previous Cindy releases, while adding a few departures and left-turns. Cindy likes to work at the essentials and the elements here say exactly what’s needed. In other ways, these songs present a soft filigree that’s unusual for their recordings. Oli Lipton (Now, Violent Change) on guitar and Will Smith (Now) on bass play counterpoint melodies to Gill’s structures. Staizsh Rodrigues (Children Maybe Later, Almond Joy, Peace Frog) sings vocal harmonies that both offset and deepen Gill’s voice and delivery. There are playful drums by Mike Ramos (Tony Jay, Sad Eyed Beatniks) and coolly elaborate guitar lines from Stanley Martinez (Famous Mammals, Violent Change, Non Plus Temps). Gill’s songs strike this balance too: almost nonchalant reporting tied up in unexpected knots. A ride in an elevator connects up with questions about peace and/or the nature of things; the title track wonders about associative thinking and associative feeling; The Bell is an account of one of those times when everything makes sense but you can’t explain it; and there’s the scene of a party viewed with admiration for how friends can love each other. Zach Bryans fünftes Studioalbum, The Great American Bar Scene, erscheint am 11.10.2024. Im Juli erschien die Single „28“. Im Juni erschien bereits ein musikalischer Vorbote mit „Purple Gas“. Als Feature gastiert Noeline Hofmann, eine aufstrebende Countrymusikerin aus Kanada.Bryan singt mit Bruce Springsteen den von Beiden gemeinsam komponierten Song „Sandpaper“ und mit John Moreland huldigt er mit „Memphis; The Blues“ den Blues der Musikmetropole Memphis. Mit dem großartigen Gitarristen John Mayer beschwört er die „Better Days“. Drei unfassbar starke Songs, die ohne Frage als Highlights des Longplayers bezeichnet werden können! Die drei ersten Singles „Pink Skies“, „Purple Gas“ und „28“ gaben die musikalische Marschrichtung bereits an. Das gilt auch für die restlichen Titel des großartig gelungenem und umgesetzten Albums. Der ehemalige Soldat hat’s wirklich drauf und komponiert und textet Songs, so wie er sagt „wie ein Akkordarbeiter“, die sich aber keinesfalls mal schnell dahingeschrieben anhören, sondern den Zeitgeist, das echte Leben und gleichermaßen Ängste aber auch unbändige Lebensfreude widerspiegeln. Seine Geschichten erzählen von Liebe, Freunden, Bars und ja, vielleicht den besungenen „besseren Tagen“, auf die wir alle sehr gespannt sein dürften – wenn sie dann kommen, nicht wahr? Fazit: Das 19 Titel umfassende Album beinhaltet 18 Songs und ein (gesprochenes) Gedicht. Man fühlt sich als Hörer musikalisch sofort abgeholt und lauscht dem, meist sehr akustisch aufgenommenen Songs. Deshalb kommt auch keine Sekunde Langeweile auf – ein starkes Album.

Admittedly, being able to embrace someone back into your life, when they seem to have never left might be a little strange - but that’s exactly how it feels with Âme, one of clubland’s mainstays, consisting of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann. Case in point: they’re certainly not getting tired of gracing stages big and small with their DJ sets and live performances around the globe, yet “Asa“ actually presents their first original material since three years. Particular track sees the duo on top of their game, as it offers another example of peak time dance floor that is still so much more than just the sum of its components. “Asa“ is big, joyful, euphoric, and sonically adventurous. It relies on repetition, but no single part is allowed to stagnate before everything finally culminates in a symphony of daring synths, driving beats and dueling melodies. It’s a spectacle that might or might not be the musical notification of something way bigger heading our way.

Big Crown Records ist stolz darauf, die erste 7" von Derya Yidirim & Grup Simsek auf dem Label zu präsentieren. Dies sind die ersten beiden Stücke aus diesen Sessions und sie sind sehr aufschlussreich für das, was auf dem neuen Album zu hören sein wird. "Cool Hand" ist ein wunderschönes Nebeneinander von Intensität und Unbeschwertheit mit Texten, die die Tiefen der unerwiderten Liebe erforschen, während die Musik erhebend und hell ist. Die B-Seite ,Yakamoz" ist ein zutiefst bewegender Song, der die tiefen Gefühle einfängt, die mit Vertreibung und Verlust verbunden sind. Der Text erzählt die Geschichte von jemandem, der seine Heimat, den Ort seiner Wurzeln, notgedrungen verlassen musste und nicht weiß, ob er jemals zurückkehren wird. Der gleichmäßige Groove der Band und der gequälte Gesang zeichnen ein lebendiges Bild der Verwüstung, die die Protagonistin erlebt, die schließlich erkennt, dass ihre Wurzeln in ihr selbst liegen und jeder Ort, an den sie geht, ihr Zuhause ist.

The first encounter between Marina P and Blundetto took place in 2014 with their collaboration on the track "Last Broken Bones" from the album "World Of". Marina, who had just created her label Homeys Records, continues to multiply experiences on stage and in the studio, solo or always well accompanied (Mungo's Hi-Fi, Stand High Patrol, Woman Hi-Fi with Biga*Ranx, Jahtari...).
But Marina's spectrum of influences goes far beyond reggae, drawing from the jazz sound of her parent's record player, her cello practice, and the discovery of great voices of Soul and Jazz like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Chet Baker...
The track "Eugenio", written and composed by Marina, embodies all of this; it belongs to no particular style. It's primarily the evident essence of the song, its lyrics, and its emotion that inspired Blundetto to "set it to music", available to your ears in two different arrangements

Sein zwischen 1993 und 1996 komponiertes Triptychon, das auf den Filmen von Jean Cocteau basiert, wird
hier vervollständigt. Nach ihrer viel beachteten Aufnahme von ”Les Enfants Terribles”, die hier enthalten
ist, präsentieren die Pianistinnen nun zusätzlich auch die beiden verbleibenden Werke der Cocteau-Trilogie:
”Orphée” und ”La Belle et la Bête”, arrangiert von Glass’ Musikdirektor Michael Riesman.
Nach seiner Porträttrilogie (Einstein, Gandhi und Echnaton) wandte sich Philip Glass für seine Opern

Having been recently credited for being the Hailey's Comet of the edits world, The Hole In The Wall Gang return after many calls over nearly two decades to bring you two outstanding dancefloor heaters on this limited 7 " release.

Clan Caimán, led by composer Emilio Haro, is a group from Argentina, but their timeless, organic music transcends nationality. “Pica-Pau” (woodpecker), their third album, is their most abstract and minimal to date, but this is not a cold abstraction nor an austere minimalism; the music here, with its focus on rhythm and texture, is warm and hypnotic, seeming to have existed forever despite the fact that it was recorded in 2023-24. As on their previous albums, all with EM Records, the music is driven by the kalimabafon, Haro’s self-made tuned percussion instrument. The kalimbafon’s patterns weave through waves of reverb-drenched lap steel and guitar, as bass undertow and sans-cymbal percussion allow the music to flow music inexorably forward, like a broad, timeless river. The compositions here have a feeling of being immersed in deep night, surrounded by life, away from the enclosed isolation of the urban environment. As with previous albums, the compositions are instrumental, the exception being the final song, a vocal version of the opening track, sung in a language invented by Haro.

No one has lived a life quite like Marcos Valle. He became an overnight international sensation, fled a military dictatorship, dodged the Vietnam war draft, had his music sung by Homer Simpson, made enemies with Marlon Brando, and became an unsuspecting fitness guru for multiple generations. But to truly understand the great Brazilian composer, arranger, singer and multi instrumentalist, one must listen to his music.

Lead Single (Life Is What It Is) : Between the release of his first album in 1962 and today, Marcos Valle has released twenty-two studio albums traversing definitive bossa nova, classic samba, iconic disco pop, psychedelic rock, nineties dance and orchestral music. He has also had his songs recorded by some of the all time greats, including Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Sergio Mendes, Elis Regina, and (last but not least), Emma Button of the Spice Girls. He has also had his music sampled by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Pusha T and many more.


With his twenty-third studio album Túnel Acustico, Valle set out to bring it all together.

“I believe my music is many things. It goes in different directions. I have many different ways of writing music, sometimes it’s melodies and harmony, sometimes the groove is the focus. But all the music I have made over my sixty year career is unified. It is all natural and it is all sincere. And this is what I wanted to bring to my new album.”

A prominent feature of Valle’s career has been his dual residence between Brazil and the USA. Originally moving over in the mid-sixties on the back of bossa nova’s international proliferation, Valle toured with Sergio Mendes and became hugely in demand as a composer and arranger. But the Vietnam War loomed and the threat of being drafted saw him return to Brazil. He spent the following years in Rio writing music for TV and film, as well as four cult favourite albums in collaboration with some of Brazil’s most groundbreaking musicians including Milton Nascimento, Azymuth, Som Imaginario and O Terco.

By 1975, Brazil's military dictatorship was at its most oppressive, making living and working increasingly difficult. Valle moved back to the US where he would reside in LA, writing songs for, and collaborating with the likes of Eumir Deodato, Airto Moreira, Chicago, Sarah Vaughn and Leon Ware, amongst others.

Túnel Acústico features two songs originally conceived during Valle’s time on the West Coast: “Feels So Good”, a stirring two-step soul triumph written in 1979 with soul icon Leon Ware, and the sublime AOR disco track “Life Is What It Is”, composed around the same time, with percussionist Laudir De Oliveira from the group Chicago.

Built around an unfinished demo Marcos found on a shelf in his house 44 years after it was made, the “Feels So Good” demo was restored with the help of producer Daniel Maunick, who also utilised AI stem-separation to remove the placeholder vocal ad-libs. Valle added Portuguese lyrics to sit alongside Ware’s vocal hook, as well as extra keyboards and percussion.

Also written in late seventies LA, “Life Is What Is It” was co-penned by Laudir De Oliveira from the band Chicago and first released on the bands’ Chicago 13 album with lyrics by Robert Lamb. Another nod to his good times in LA, Valle recorded his own version for Túnel Acústico, upping the tempo and deepening the groove for a blast of irresistible summer soul.

On Túnel Acústico, Valle's core band features two members of the renowned Brazilian jazz-funk group Azymuth: Alex Malheiros on bass and Renato Massa on drums. The rhythm section is completed by percussionist Ian Moreira, with additional contributions from guitarist Paulinho Guitarra and trumpeter Jesse Sadoc.

The contemporarily composed music on Túnel Acústico features an impressive lineup of guest lyricists, including renowned Brazilian artists: Joyce Moreno (Bora Meu Vem), Céu (Nao Sei), and Moreno Veloso (Palavras Tão Gentis) as well as Valle's brother Paulo Sergio Valle (Tem Que Ser Feliz).

The album closes with "Thank You Burt (For Bacharach)", a tribute to the legendary composer who passed away in 2023.

Túnel Acústico will be released on 20th September 2024 via Far Out Recordings. Valle is set to tour Europe and America in support of the album.

Der fünfte Longplayer des Chemnitzer Quartetts baut zunächst auf dem Sound seiner Vorgänger auf: ein feingesponnenes Netz aus diversen Indie- und Post-Whatever-Einflüssen, das trotz aller Komplexität ganz einfach und organisch wirkt. The random rap craze brought renewed attention to Phill Most's releases in the late 90s, leading to reissues of On Tempo, the release of previously unissued Baritone Tiplove records, his return with the Lo-Fi EP, and then the highly influential Fast Rap EP on Nobody Buys Records which led to a flurry of funky uptempo releases across the globe again. The interest in Phill Most records over the whole 2010s was rabid, with further releases produced by Bankrupt Europeans, Mr. Fantastic and Chris Read flying off the shelves, and two full length albums produced by 90s stalwarts Paul Nice and DJ Format, as well as the recent Jorun-PMC album being now considered classics in the boom bap scene. Having now signed with Chuck D's Spitslam label, Phill Most continues his journey in stepping all over MC conventions, and these first two Analog Mutants release are a perfect example of this.
