The exclusive Soul Jones Records debut release SJR101, "I Never Had It So Good (Uncut)."
Produced by Elijah Baker (ex-Tony! Toni! Toné! bassist) and Oakland studio maestro BJ Kemp (Ms. Monét / Raphael Saadiq), the record channels early-'70s sweet soul with a contemporary nous that keeps it fresh.
Inspired by a gospel recording by Elijah's father, Reverend Elijah Baker Sr., this romantic serenade brings together an all-star Bay Area line-up: Otis Cooper (Otis & Shugg – "Journey" / "Thank You For My Baby"), R&B hotshot Adrian Marcel and vintage soul specialist Mario Corbino, once part of The Temptations.

Detroit-born, Toronto-based HONORÉ returns with "We're Still Making Love" – the third vinyl release on Soul Jones Records and the herald for her long-awaited debut album. Written by Honoré and recalling the sweet n' tender vintage of 70s southern soul, the full Detroit Soulchestra swells around houseband The Detroit Lovers – a groove that reminded Honoré of growing up in the Motor City, watching lovers stepping together in the ballrooms of Detroit. The vinyl also carries the recent "Gratitude Remix" of "Ain't No Substitute" (by Estonian maverick Martin Laksberg of Lexsoul Dancemachine) as a bonus on the flip.

Detroit-born and Toronto-based, Honoré returns to Soul Jones Records with another slice of ‘70s super-soul with a cool twist. Ain’t No Substitute is an elegant, full-bodied dancer built on rich orchestration and a velvet groove, her five-octave range gliding from an intimate hush to full soul euphoria. Producers Pirahnahead and Thomas McKay frame her performance in shimmering strings, rolling rhythm and a touch of brass, with The Detroit Lovers and the 18-piece Detroit Soulchestra once again bringing that unmistakable analogue warmth.

Soul Jones Records presents the debut double A-side vinyl from Detroit-born, Toronto-based soul siren Honoré (pronounced “honour-ray”).
With a remarkable five-octave voice – and backed by an 18-piece orchestra and the Detroit Lovers – “It’s Over” (co-written with Timothy Bovaconti) channels sweet ’70s heartbreak soul, while “Innocent & Real” is for connoisseurs of lush, Niecy–Minnie Riperton-style vintage.
