We are happy to welcome UK-based producer Native Cruise on Slam City Jams. The guy was on our radar since his releases on No Bad Days and Fruit Merchant that easily combined house music with new-age synths, a wave/EBM touch and balearic sounds.
His „Human Nature“ EP is no exception with five outstanding tracks that differ in tempo and vibe.
The opener „Crew Talk“ is a percussion heavy tune with lots of cowbells, a funky DX7 bass line, deep pads and dramatic chords that build up and up towards the end.
„Elsewhere" is the most housey track on this record, with four-to-the-floor 808s and bittersweet strings that burst out into euphoria. Closing down the A-side is „Fooled Again“, a balearic cut that feels like a day in the sun with it's little synth blips and arps.
On the flip we find the title track „Human Nature“ that might be the hidden jam on this EP. Hard hitting Linn Drums, digital synth bells and those haunting vocals we can’t get out of our heads. Finally we have „Not Long Now“ a perfectly atmospheric deep tune, that sits somewhere between ambient and reggaeton and will make fans of DJ Python more than happy.

Inspired by warm climates, shaped in a rainy city. Native Cruise's Desert Theory opener Late Nights is a relaxed jam filled with crispy drum-machine percussion and new age-ish pads with delicate nature sounds in the background. The energy rises towards the title track, a marching rhythm characterised by chugging wooden drums and floaty pan flutes. Bermuda Clouds brings you on a shore presenting a dreamy 4 to the floor session with an FM bass line, atmospheric pads and a wave of ocean sounds. The journey ends with Whispers which reminds of an imaginary 80s digital world vaguely influenced by the aesthetic of labels like Innovative Communication or Les Folies Art.

Native Cruise’s new release is just in time for the summer, bringing a relaxed take on house that laps at your ears like a warm sea. We’re happy to have got some of his time - he’s been releasing on No Bad Tapes, Fruit Merchant and YAM Records. He pitches the release as “a mixture between house, tribal and balearic not sure what else”,so it’ll be hard to file neatly, but we are glad he’s made this lovely EP.

After a first cosmic cruise through Mediterranean Space Disco by TORRE, Musiq Voyage returns with its second release — this time from one of its own founders, Arno E. Mathieu.
Known for his label collaborations with NYC legend Joe Claussell, for his acclaimed Circumstances Of Chaos LP, and many releases on iconic labels like Compost, Yoruba, Real Tone, Deeply Rooted and Africanism, Arno has spent over two decades jamming & crafting deep, balearic & psychedelic journeys across house and electronic realms.
With MV002, he comes home, channeling the spirit of his native Provence and the sun-drenched pulse of the Mediterranean.
Arno delivers two evocative tracks:
“Phoenix” – an 80’s-inspired electronic resurrection, rising from the ashes on waves of funky basslines, soaring synths, and cosmic guitars.
“L’Amoragie” – a cosmic disco odyssey blending “Amore” and “Hémorragie” into one passionate eruption of love and sound — powered by hypnotic drums, anthemic synths, and euphoric choirs.
Mediterranean soul, space disco energy, and emotional storytelling — Musiq Voyage continues its journey.

Following up the first release quickly with Detroit native Paul Alan, who now resides on the sunny west coast. Paul Alan aka DTCHPLNES, delivers the smooth latin driven car cruiser "Provider" and the sun blissed slow skate vibes of "Charlevoix", which also sounds great on 45. The two track 7 inch is wrapped in a treasure map jacket with a compass foil stamp and includes a postcard

As Motorist, LA native Joe Rihn makes music which points in the direction of the soulful, jazz inflections of artists like Wax Doctor and Peshay. Time Is Now White Vol.20 pays testament to his dexterity in creating fully-immersive atmospheres, as well as his penchant for rhythmic experimentation.

The EP's smooth-as-silk opener 'Drip' typifies this, luring you in with the psychedelic-funk tones of wah-pedalled guitar plucks, and the instrumental quality of percussion which cruises along at half-time before Amen breaks pick up the pace. 'Balamb Garden' captures D'n'B's meditative potential, driven by a dynamic syncopation which swings beneath airy pads and piano tinkles before the harder-hitting raw club track 'Caldoria' brings the A-side to a storming close.

'Blast Route' picks things right back up again, together with 'Prism', which nod more to the hardcore proclivities of the likes of DJ Die with distorted drum breaks and warped basslines. 'Rover' strips things back once more, boasting Motorist's capacity for teasing out the slower, more mellow side of 160.

Dutch producer Philou Louzolo returns to Byrd Out for a secondouting, mining that seam between Afro, House and Electro, with his Sharingan EP. He’s been working in a darkened room for some months on his own label Wokoundou (remixing the likes of Amadou and Miriam), but has taken time out to produce two new tracks, Sharingan and Itachi, that make up the A side. And on the flip we’ve the married the originals with three wicked remixes, from Kenyan via Kampala talent Slikback, who gives Sharingan an industrial pulsing feel, Ariwo’s Pouya Eshaei, with a stripped back take on Itachi, and previous Byrd Out contributor Native Cruise with a lush Balearic tinged edit of Sharingan.
