Leah Chisholm, die als LP Giobbi bekannte Künstlerin, ist eine der interessantesten und wichtigsten Produzenten und DJs der Welt. Sie ist eine im Jazz ausgebildete Pianistin, die sich von der Welt der Jazzmusik inspirieren lässt und es vorzieht, die oft komplizierten und vorprogrammierten Strukturen der elektronischen Musik zugunsten einer spontanen Live-Zusammenarbeit zu vermeiden. Heute kündigt sie ihr zweites Album Dotr an, das am 18. Oktober auf dem Ninja Tune Imprint Counter Records erscheinen wird.
Dotr ist der mit Spannung erwartete Nachfolger von Light Places, dem Album, das ihr den Titel DJ Mag's Best Producer of 2023 einbrachte und sie unter NPR's Favorite New Musicians of 2023, Spotify RADAR's Artists to Watch, Amazon's Artists to Watch und TIDAL's Artists to Watch 2023 platzierte. Mit 3 Millionen monatlichen Hörern auf Spotify und mehr als 340 Millionen Streams auf allen Plattformen hat LP Giobbi große Festivalbühnen geziert - Coachella, Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, sowie Auftritte bei Kappa Futur, Arc Music Festival, Lost Village und Portola, die für dieses Jahr geplant sind - und überfüllte Clubfloors, während sie mit Künstlern wie Mochakk, DJ Tennis, John Summit, Diplo, Dead & Co, Black Coffee und ihrem häufigen Kollaborateur Sofi Tukker tourte. Die Produzentin, DJ, Pianistin und Aktivistin LP Giobbi veröffentlicht ihr mit Spannung erwartetes Debütalbum, „Light Places“ auf Counter Records. Musikalisch ist LP Giobbi, eins der populärsten aufstrebenden Talente der elektronischen Musik, irgendwo zwischen ODESZA, Bonobo, Bicep und TSHA einzuordnen.

„Light Places“ entstand zu einem großen Teil zwischen den Wolken, in Flugzeugen hoch über der Realität und anderen Ablenkungen, wo LP Giobbi Ideen und Melodien locker niederschreiben konnte, bevor sie im Studio umgesetzt wurden. Der Aufnahmeprozess des Albums war eine Reise an sich, die sie auf neue Weise herausforderte und ihre künstlerischen Fähigkeiten über die Grenzen einzelner Singles hinaus erweiterte. Es erlaubte ihr, außerhalb der Tanzfläche zu experimentieren und zu erforschen, mit einer Verbindung zu ihren improvisierten Jazz- und Jam-Band-Grundlagen, womit alles einst begann. Auf „Light Places“ sind zudem beeindruckende Features zu Gast, wie bspw. SOFI TUKKER, Little Jet, Caroline Byrne, Monogem, DJ Tennis und Joseph Ashworth zu hören. LP Giobbi zelebriert die Freuden der Zusammenarbeit, der Improvisation und der Erschaffung von Musik durch Freundschaft - eine Hommage an die Menschen und die Musik, die sie als Künstlerin geprägt haben.

2025 marks the 10th anniversary of world-famous DJ Pete Tong, conductor Jules Buckley, and The Heritage and The Essential Orchestra coming together to create orchestral versions of some of the greatest electronic dance songs as you’ve never heard them before. Alongside his Royal Albert Hall shows in May Pete has curated a special 2LP neon coloured vinyl, featuring hits from all four albums such as ‘Pjanoo’, ‘Lola’s Theme’ ‘Killer’, ‘Insomnia’, ‘9PM (Till I Come)’, ‘Your Love’ & many more. The releases also feature new Mark Ralph 2025 edits of fan favourites ‘Finally’, ‘Man With A Red Face’, ‘Yeke Yeke’ & ‘Cafe Del Mar’ which all previously featured on medleys and a new 2025 single. Defected’s vinyl series continues to commit the label’s biggest digital releases to wax, delivering the best house music previously unavailable on vinyl, and this nineteenth edition collates four unmissable releases from 2023’s incredible summer season. Opening the compilation, British house favourite Jansons delivers old skool vibes with ‘Hypnotic’, championed by 90s hip-hop and RnB inspired vocal vocals courtesy of Dope Earth Alien. Next up, LP Giobbi’s long-awaited Defected debut came in the form of ‘Giodisco’, a joyful, vibrant club cut that showcased the live musician and producer’s disco-adjacent sound. On the B-Side, the First Lady of Defected Sam Divine presents her long-awaited dancefloor release ‘Take My Hand’ featuring Josh Barry on vocals. After teasing the track for nearly a year in her live sets, the heavenly house release did not disappoint. Closing out this esteemed collection is the addictive collaboration between Parisian underground favourites and London singer-songwriter Camden Cox, ‘Lady Love’, which dominated the summer season with its undeniable energy and earworm vocal.

After a number of collaborative appearances and remixes on Dirtybird Records, rising producer, VNSSA, finally makes her well-deserved solo debut on the imprint with her fresh new single, “One Pill.”

Already garnering support from the likes of LP Giobbi, Diplo, and DJ Tennis, VNSAA’s single is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser. The track playfully samples Jefferson Airplane’s classic tune, “White Rabbit,” VNSSA paying tribute to her roots in rock music, and spicing it up with a four-on-the-floor groove.
