Berlin / NY collective Climate of Fear releases its debut EP, “Laika’s Revenge” by тпсб – two tracks of sorrowful and menacing technoid expansions. Side A’s “Escape Pod” shimmers like a mirage on a desert landscape, nearly evaporating in the heat; on Side B the title track is five minutes of roiling thunderstorm ferocity. Following his breakout 2018 lp “Sekundenschlaf” on Blackest Ever Black, “Laika’s Revenge” expands on the artist’s fevered vision of the dance.

For its first standalone release of 2021, Climate of Fear is proud to announce the debut album by NYC avant punk duo Clebs, aka Jason Nazary & Emilie Weibel. “Feed Me Gently” is one of those works that hits out of nowhere: a collection of songs so finely honed and unflinchingly unique it’s hard to believe this is the group’s first outing. Opening with “Negative Space,” the duo pull a deadly fakeout, with gurgling, saliva drenched musique concrète suddenly dive bombing into a ricocheting, noise-encrusted panic attack. Seasoned with trace amounts of 90’s electronica, Weibel’s atomized vocal work and Nazary’s careening drumwork set the tone for the rest of the album. “Feed Me Gently” draws its power from the tension between its snarling aggression and its eerily calm sensuality, with Weibel’s poetic incantations and choked birdsong weaving around melted synth lines, jazzy interludes and brutally deconstructed percussion. A deeply strange, fully formed soundworld, “Feed Me Gently” invites you to bask in its eerily sensual violence.

Breeze into summer with a DJ set from the unchallenged master of blunted atmospherics: Terekke. Ripped from a riverside warehouse party in the dog days of summer 2019, Terekke dials up the soulful, expressive house moods that undergird through his ephemeral productions. Digital pianos? Check. Vocal A1's? Check. "Let No Man Put Asunder" samples? Check. No need to strap in, this one's a cruise.

For the tenth edition of its tape series, Climate of Fear presents "Empire of the Senseless," a rippling, brooding session by Izabel. Recorded at an april 2019 party opening for Legowelt, "Empire" shows the Lullabies for Insomniacs boss in a molten halftime groove, drifting from fungal ambient to dark-aura'ed club crawlers. Rich, unnerving, sorrowful and sensuous. Feel your face melt.

Climate of Fear teams up with Vladimir Ivkovic for the eighth edition of its twelve part tape series. Recorded in in the last months of 2019, Vladimir showcases here his indelibly dank and syrupy sound. Gooey rave carnage, IDM turnarounds and flavor for weeks. One of the all time juiciest sets at any Climate party, this tape hits like a dripping mango in an arid desert. Out April 2021.

Relaxer tosses his hat in the ring for Climate's fifth installment with a mini-album of studio works. "Hedonic Fatigue" opens with the delirious 20 minute "Fatigue Suite," a white knuckle slow dive that will leave you gasping. Climate's third release in its tape series is a writhing hardcore masterclass from Nkisi. Recorded the same night as Elena Colombi's entry, it offers an inverted counterpart to that set's languid grooviness. Nkisi wrings a supple and hypnotizing atmosphere from the most astringent and defiant selections, using the 170+ bpm kick drums and scythe-like percussion to envelop the listener. Creation and destruction merge in a fluid void state. NSFW.
