Über vier Alben hinweg hat sich Pachyman als meisterhafter Handwerker des Dub-Reggae bewiesen. Inspiriert von Legenden wie King Tubby und Scientist, nutzt er Vintage-Equipment, erschafft monumentale Klangwelten und versteht intuitiv die hypnotische Kraft der Wiederholung. Mit 'Another Place' geht er einen Schritt weiter: Er verbindet Dub mit den vielfältigen Einflüssen moderner Musik - von der Synth-Pop-Ästhetik eines William Onyeabor und Yellow Magic Orchestra bis hin zu den tiefen, atmosphärischen Klängen von Basic Channel’s Dub-Techno. Ein Album, das Tradition ehrt und zugleich neue Klangräume erschließt.

Ursprünglich 2016 erschienen, folgt 'Young Blindness' auf The Murlocs' 2014er Debüt 'Loopholes', das auf einem soliden Fundament aus verzerrten Licks und melodischem Gespür aufbaute. Die eingängigen Kompositionen werden durch das markante Gesangsvibrato von Sänger Ambrose Kenny-Smith unterstrichen. In den Texten werden Themen wie jugendliche Paranoia und Selbstzweifel durch die Brille der Erfahrung betrachtet und die verschwommene Begegnung mit einem Hauch von bluesgetränktem Weltschmerz erforscht.

Monsters of Folk - bestehend aus Jim James (My Morning Jacket), M. Ward, Conor Oberst und Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes) - haben 2009 ihr erstes gemeinsames Album veröffentlicht. Das Album wurde in Malibu und Omaha aufgenommen, alle Instrumente von den vier Mitgliedern selbst einspielt. Es war ihr einziges gemeinsames Album als Band. Diese Neuauflage enthält ein überarbeitetes Artwork, das Originalalbum mit 15 Songs sowie fünf unveröffentlichte Studiotracks aus dem Jahr 2012, die für ein zweites, nie fertiggestelltes Album vorgesehen waren und auf denen „5th Monster“ Will Johnson zu hören ist.

Im Geiste der klassischen jamaikanischen Aufnahmen der späten 70er und frühen 80er Jahre präsentiert uns Pachyman sein zweites Album mit Ausflügen in Dub und Roots Reggae. Inspiriert von der Roots Radics Band, erweitert Pachyman diesmal seine Erkundung des frühen Studio One-Sounds, Sly & Robbies Steppers-Stil und ein wenig Soul-Jazz-Reggae. Gemischt mit den Techniken von Scientist und King Tubby zollt Pachyman der Klangpalette der Dub-Meister Tribut. Aufgenommen zwischen April und Oktober 2019 in seinem eigenen 333 House Studio.

Im Stil der frühen Dancehall-Platten hat es sich Pachy García zur Aufgabe gemacht, den Sound von Scientist, King Tubby, Lee "Scratch" Perry und den großen Technikern und Instrumentalisten der frühen jamaikanischen Reggae-Musik zu reproduzieren. Inspiriert von den Channel One Studios und der Roots Radics Band, ist der Sound im Dancehall-Stil mit einigen Ausflügen in den Rub-a-Dub- und Rocker-Stil gehalten. The latest album from Australian singer / songwriter Grace Cummings, ‘Ramona’ is a work of raw truth rendered in its most beautiful form. In a departure from the self-produced approach of her 2019 debut, ‘Refuge Cove’, and its 2022 follow-up ‘Storm Queen’ - the Melbourne-based artist worked with producer Jonathan Wilson (Angel Olsen, Father John Misty, Margo Price) and dreamed up a lavishly orchestrated sound that fully accommodates the depth and scope of her vocal prowess

When Black Pumas made their self-titled debut in 2019, the Austin-bred duo set off a reaction almost as combustible and rapturous as their music itself. ‘Restless Thoughts’, the full-length debut from Zooey Celeste, was produced in Brooklyn by Nick Hakim. Centred on Zooey’s hypnotic baritone vocals, set against a backdrop of sparse drum machine beats and droney guitar tones, the album drifts between avant-punk, chamber-pop and lo-fi psychedelia, drawing the listener into a sustained dream state. Colombian-Canadian singer songwriter Tei Shi (aka Valerie Teicher Barbosa) joins Zooey on ‘Big Trouble’ for a sublime piece of surrealist dancepop. LP pressed on turquoise vinyl.

Produced by Glaspy with her partner, guitarist/composer Julian Lage, it expands on the frenetic vitality of her widely acclaimed debut Emotions and Math. On the new album, Glaspy recorded with bassist Chris Morrissey (Andrew Bird, Lucius, Ben Kweller) and drummer/percussionist David King of The Bad Plus.

Bobbie Nelsons musikalische Karriere reicht bis in die 1940er Jahre zurück. Als begnadete Pianistin spielte sie in Kirchen, Revival Tents, Konzertsälen und Honky-Tonks und schloss sich schließlich in den frühen 70er Jahren der Family Band ihres Bruders Willie Nelson an. Shires und Nelson taten sich 2021 zusammen, um in den Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas, Aufnahmen zu machen - eine Einrichtung, die von Nelsons Sohn Freddy Fletcher mitgeleitet und betrieben wird. Das Album 'Loving You' enthält Songs, die Nelson und Shires ihr Leben lang begleitet haben, sowie Nelsons eigenes elegantes Solo-Piano-Titelstück.

When Paul Janeway learned he was going to be a father he decided to scribe his thoughts—joy, fear, confusion—as messages to his then-unborn daughter. Those letters became Angels in Science Fiction, the stunning 5th LP from St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Produced by Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price) at the legendary Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis. It finds the band stretching further out, building on the shadowy psychedelia and intricate, experimental R&B of The Alien Coast.

Harper & The Infinite Sky’ features the premiere of The
Infinite Sky, a stacked backing band consisting of longtime
bassist and contributing writer Mick Mayer, pianist John
Carroll Kirby (Solange, Steve Lacy), Spoon keyboardist
Alex Fischel, guitarist Jackson MacIntosh (Drugdealer,
Jessica Pratt), pedal-steel player Connor Gallaher (Black
Lips, Calexico), and TOPS drummer Riley Fleck.
Within the first few moments of the self-titled new album,
Honey Harper and The Infinite Sky deliver a dashed-off
statement on the trappings of country music. Despite the
high level of conceptualization that went into its creation,
the record embodies an irresistibly loose and grooveheavy sound that hits with an immediate impact. While
previous album, ‘Starmaker’, was touted as “country music
for people who don’t like country music,” ‘Honey Harper &
The Infinite Sky’ is “country music for everyone.”

An origin story since time immemorial, this DIY garage
rock five piece came together in 2018 through the
traps of the Melbourne music scene. Bonding over a
shared love of tightly coiled riffs and a collective
musical ethos, Civic made a name for themselves
through the intensity of their live shows, which would
become local folklore.
 On ‘Future Forecast’, Civic pay homage to the
classics, but pivot on them with avant-charged edge.
It’s raw, searing guitars, pummelling rhythms, driving
bass and vocals that lock into and synergize with their
wall of sound. All of this is balanced by the raucous
and restrained weaving of melodies and textures, and
vocal variation which broadens their sound past any
one genre label.
 There’s the horn-fuelled drive of album opener
‘Radiant Eye’, the power pop-laden hook of ‘As Seen
On TV’, the emotively atmospheric and vocally
subdued ‘Sunday Best’, all culminating with closer
‘Come To Know’, before ending in a tightly wound
splay of feedback and groove.
