Seiya is an orphan who, as a young boy, was selected by the Kido Foundation to bring legendary bronze armour back to Japan. He succeeds, along with 10 other orphans. Forced by the foundation to take part in a "show", the knights embark on a tournament before the prize, the golden armour, is stolen. Little by little, they realise that their problems stem from the Sanctuary in Greece, home to the 12 most powerful knights, the Golden Knights, and their leader, the Great Pope. His target is the young Saori Kido, heiress to the foundation and reincarnation of Athena.

The series was a huge success and spawned an extensive franchise, with TV series, films and video games. This album features the best music and songs from the anime, composed and arranged by Seiji Yokoyama (GATCHAMAN).

to give honour and praise to one of the greatest composers of the 20th century
and the forgotten rich history of Black Classical Music.
Joined by the orchestral collective The Knights and special guests Evan
Christopher (clarinet), Nicole Glover (tenor sax), Brandon Lee (trumpet), and
Mikaela Bennett (soprano), Diehl breathes vibrant new life into a masterwork that
the composer herself was never able to fully realize during her lifetime.
Aaron Diehl approaches the piano with a delicately nuanced expressivity and an
exquisitely attuned touch that have garnered him acclaim at the highest levels.
From his collaborations with such jazz innovators as Wynton Marsalis, Cécile
McLorin Salvant and Benny Golson, to his exploratory work in the classical realm
with Philip Glass or the New York Philharmonic, to his own current- crossing
recordings as a leader, Diehl is singularly committed to a journey of musical
discovery regardless of genre or context

Filthy electro and acid on this new release on Klasse Wrecks' sub-label Zodiac 44! A 'as nasty as it wants to be' four tracker from new producer Ludgate Squatter, the 8th in the labels 12 release only schedule (one for each sign of the Zodiac dummy). ZCANC closely adheres to the labels 'outsider' sound, distorted drums and an atmosphere so dark, demented and paranoid you start to worry a little for the artist after listening to the music. Little is known about Ludgate Squatter and maybe thats for the best, there's an evil genius out there somewhere armed with a broken 707 and he's taking no prisoners. Recommended!!

Zodiac, a new collaboration between Brendon Moeller and Monty Luke, present a heady brew of sci-fi dub and deep rhythms on a full-length album, ‘Serengeti By Night’.

With meditative roots music at the very heart of ‘Serengeti’, experimental ideas are excavated over ten tracks. Vivid atmospheres are conjured up, as tribal trance, voodoo dub and otherworldly electronics are deployed over rock steady rhythms.

With influences that lie in the musical endeavours of African Headcharge to Rhythm & Sound, Public Image Limited to Cybotron, Zodiac keep the flame burning for exploratory dub-leanings, and deliver an album from the space station above that administers sophisticated braindance sounds that will command repeat listens...

Damon Zucconi is a visual artist living and working in Philadelphia. He frequently uses custom software to create his work, and has spent the past decade working as a computer programmer, producing pieces which are typically accessible online. Some of his projects include 'Fata Morgana' a reworking of Google Maps code that hides everything except text elements; a website for the Arca site-specific performance-installation Tormenta; and recent solo exhibitions with Veda in Florence and JTT in New York of physical and digital works. This is Zucconi's debut music release.

It's impossible to talk about this album without acknowledging the spectre of death that hangs over it - not only is it the third entry in Strata-East Records' Dolphy Series, a collection of archival recordings from some of the label's close associates honoring the recently deceased multi-instrumentalist, but it is actually dedicated to two members of the band, Wynton Kelly and Kenny Dorham, who died in between the recording sessions and its release. The point is driven home even further by the fact that the album begins with a tribute from Payne to the fallen Martin Luther King, Jr., a piece that acts as a de facto solo for Dorham - his playing all rosy elegance and regal warmth - before shifting into the lighter (though equally coolly-paced) "I Know Love," a showcase for Payne's sax. While not the most somber jazz track ever recorded, this opening suite is a low-key and mournful way to open the affair, but thankfully the album really picks off and shows these musicians more in their element the rest of the way.

"Girl, You Got a Home" is a funky piece, beginning very soulfully with some tight interplay among the rhythm section of Kelly, bassist Wilbur Ware and drummer Albert Heath. Ware is in especially fine form on this track, tying together the disparate passages of the piece by grounding the more ponderous moments in a deep funk, while Kelly's playing is especially ear catching in the way he stabs at his piano like it's an organ. After the first two tracks take up nearly twenty minutes, the four-minute "Slide Hampton" feels almost impossibly brief, a feeling that's enhanced by its quick, jittery, and infectious rhythm, driven by some really dexterous work from Kelly. The final track, "Flying Fish," may be the album's highlight, a Caribbean-inspired composition that casts the rhythm section as flighty ground for both Payne and Dorham to vamp on. The track is oddly danceable for something released on Strata-East, maybe the most fun moment ever for the label, and relentlessly uptempo. Though this release may be in part defined by the deaths that preceded it, it's clear that the recording process was actually a lot of fun for everybody, as their enthusiasm and energy jumps right out of the speakers. This is one of the first Strata East records I really got into and is still one of my favorites, a must-hear for any fans of the flightier moments of Dorham or Kelly's career, and a fitting tribute for both master musicians.

A brand new release by the prolific DJ/Producer from Los Angeles. This time it's his personal label Developer Archive which was introduced back in 2010 focused on vinyl only releases. This next release DA09 its alot more of what he has grown so known for strictly focusing on highly effective dark gems that work in the clubs or the warehouses. This extended release gives you more of what he has to come in the future. Huge release! TIP!

**BACK IN PRINT ON SINGLE LP**After three albums filled for the most part with quick song bursts and the occasional longer track, the eight-song long Bullhead found the Melvins stretching out a bit more at points, this time allowing the heavily stoned tempos plenty of time to really sprawl all over the place. There are fewer sudden shifts between fast and slow moments as well, and a lot more pure lava-flow beat-over-head feedback sludge and noise. It's not all ten mph deliberation, though - "Zodiac" shows the trio at full speed and blasting aside anything that might be so foolish as to get in its way, not to mention one unhinged Osbourne vocal lead. If grunge was achieving breakthrough status in Seattle, it was being perfected in its rawest sense on this album. Opening cut "Boris" does all this in excelsis - the band's longest recorded song at this point, nearly ten minutes long, it practically drips from the bongwater of eight million potheads, with Osbourne invoking his own brand of demons over the deep crawl of the music. Osbourne here really has got the dramatic, theatrical Ozzy Osbourne attitude down, with the occasional double-tracked vocals adding to the off-kilter intensity of the performances. Crover again shows his worth on the drums - he plays things slow most of the time but, crucially, never once sloppily - while Black keeps the bass going, however relatively unheard under Osbourne's guitar attack. "It's Shoved" is the not-so-secret highlight of Bullhead, Crover's brisker drum work and Black's sharp bass playing heralding a wild lead-guitar melody and a great ensemble performance. However, efforts like "Anaconda," with its slowly uncoiling power, and the intense "If I Had an Exorcism," which gets all the more wired and wound up as it goes (Black's bass here is some of her best), are no slouches. The name Hugo Mari might not ring a bell just yet, but we've got a feeling this is about to change real soon. He's released a handful of EP's under his former alias Books on Omena and XVI including his own edit series on the latter label (check out his killer track 'in the groove or his jazzy deep house collaboration with Zodiac called 'Feel it in my Bones'). Considering he's also remixed well known artists like afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi and grime master Trim, you might share our view of this amazingly talented and versatile producer. His 'Change ur ways' EP for Heist is soulful, jazzy, deep and energetic with three varied originals and a classic soulful house remix by man of the moment, NDATL label head Kai Alcé.

'Get Loose' features the silky-smooth vocals of Zodiac, some lovely solo work on the Rhodes and a 'free jazz' vibe on the horns. There's a constant funk bassline looping throughout the track to keep the energy going while the loose arrangement as well as the drum programming give the track that care-free feeling of a never-ending live jam. With that, 'Get Loose' is a great club track that crosses the boundaries between funk, jazz and house.

The title track still has that jazzy feeling but moves towards a quirkier territory with some 'Frits Wentink' style harmonization, detuned piano's and loosely chopped samples. There's a definite gospel feel to the track, thanks to the choice in vocal chops, which is complemented perfectly by a filtered disco bassline. The percussion layer and rhythmic elements are full of energy without ever crossing the line where of subtlety that makes this track so catchy.

On the flip, there's 'Feel ur senses', the most straightforward deep house track of the release, that gets its mood from an ongoing tremolo on the Rhodes pads. Space bleeps, bells, a hidden arp and 'reverbed-out' hits give the track an almost balaeric sound that will certainly put a smile on your face.

The B side is complemented with a vocal and instrumental remix of 'Get Loose' by Kai Alcé, who has been throwing out one killer tune after the other, remixing Volcov's Isoul8 project (one of our favorites of the year), as well as kicking out releases on his own NDATL label. Kai goes for a full-on soulful house vibe, giving his own chord progression center stage along with a set of rimshots. He chooses to leave the horns out, and instead work the vocal, Rhodes, and cowbells from the original to great effect, adding a little solo work of his own on a bell-like piano where he freestyles happily throughout the track and copies the vocal for added harmonies.
The instrumental version is perfect for those moments where you're done with all the vocals and just want a tight soulful groove.

As music continuously evolves, times change and new ideas and movements come & go. All of this functions in tandem with scientific, technological, social and political advancements in our society. The biggest component to that evolution is the people. There are creators and consumers. One cannot exist without the other. Throughout art, the audience defines quality, but artist has the power to introduce change and shift perception. Execution is key. The masses are always hungry for something fresh. Sometimes we're at the forefront of new trends and sometimes we find comfort innovating the past. No matter what, musicians have a responsibility to bridge the gap. Raw Poetic and Damu the Fudgemunk meet all of the above. Produced entirely by the artists, the new album "The Reflecting Sea" revisits sonic textures of yesteryear and combined with their own distinct ears for music, have created something uniquely foreign for the music world in our time. Speaking of the times, Raw Poetic's lyrical subject matter is nothing short of relevancy. Speaking from an observatory perspective in addition to his own personal experiences, the album's content is infinitely relatable. Although known primarily as hip hop acts, both Damu and Raw P stretched out to expand what the genre is known for. The combination of elements from the mix of live instrumentation, improvisation and sampling to the range of styles including jazz, fusion, rock, electronic and soul make The Reflecting Sea unlike anything else. Captured and recorded in it's rawest form, the album is honest expression. Masterminding the festival sounds is Damu the Fudgemunk. His voice is absent from the recordings, but his presence is immediately noticed throughout the 40 minute exhibition. Packed with tons of beats, tons of scratching, original compositions, upbeat and signature atmosphere, there's no question who's behind the boards. With the average tempo of over 100bpm, this is one of the most energetic releases in Redefinition's catalog. Raw P and the Fudgemunk aim to revitalize listeners of all types with their original sound. They call it "The Reflecting Sea: Welcome to a New Philosophy." Raw Poetic (MC), hails from the DMV area by way of Philadelphia. In addition to several collaborations with Damu the Fudgemunk, he's recorded 6 albums as a member of Panacea, 1 album with K-def, 1 album with Kev Brown and recent features with Brous One in which all have been met with critical acclaim. Damu the Fudgemunk (producer/DJ) is a DC native who co-owns and operates Redefinition Records. With several successful releases as a solo artist, his music has garnered a reputation in the last decade for it's consistent quality and conceptual structure.

The Knights of the Zodiac, always on the attack...

Saint Seiya, also known as the Knights of the Zodiac, is a Japanese animated series created by Masami Kurumada in 1986. It tells the story of the Knights of Bronze who fight to protect the goddess Athena. The series was a huge success and spawned an extensive franchise, with TV series, films, video games, figurines and toys.

Straight from the immense shelves of the Full Time Production warehouse, here's a new must-have gem for the italo disco lovers.

Released for the first time in 1980 , eponymous album "Kano " is
remastered for vinyl for the first time since then and is given an
incredible new life through this version pressed on limited edition
hand-numbered vinyl that is deep in grooves and inspiration.

The first successful pioneer and ambassadors of the newly-minted "italo disco", Stefano Pulga and Luciano Ninzatti formed the core of Kano forging a consistent and memorable sound maintened throughout.

This is the sound of an army of buzzing, mini-computers and
thickly-slapped bass guitars igniting neon squares across dancefloors worldwide. As such, it sort of straddles the line between italo disco and synth funk.

Each of the six songs provides 6 to 7 minutes of danceable delights with lengthy instrumental stretches perfect for nightclubs. With vocals that are a mix of natural, falsetto and robotic, this is an album for boys, girls and androids alike. The best of the bunch open and close the set, with "It's a War" marrying a downright deadly bass line with a furiously funky organ and apocalyptic screeching synths and "I'm Ready" providing a veritable celebration of this new sound that would go on to be a big hit in two different decades. "I'm ready" was not only the beginning of Italo Disco but also a starting point for Hip Hop because that track became a classic for breakdance.

"Now Baby Now" provides further thrilling proof of the success of this
sound. The positively boppy "Ahjia" hails its all-encompassing power
with a jubilant refrain of "everything is music!", while the
mostly-instrumental "Cosmic Voyager" acts as an adventurous, triumphant soundtrack for a hero spacecraft. "Super Extra Sexy Sign", meanwhile, grooves through the Zodiac signs in entertaining fashion.

All of this adds up to a very fun listen and a very impressive debut
finally repressed and remastered on limited edition hand-numbered vinyl and out next December 10!

This vinyl features the music from the 4th film in the Saint Seiya saga. Finally, the last track is once again a variation combining two themes from both Asgard and Poseidon.

He and good friend Sam Anderson also cut a record on his CJR labelb (Capitol Jackson Records) called "Shirley Baby", also a highly coveted record if you got a copy to sell or record let us know). The name "LEO" became Dons preforming pseudonym. Leo was also his zodiac sign, which he deemed edgy enough to marquee this electro heavy track "Fee Fi Fo Fum". The inspiration for the song came from the computer craze of the 80s. Much like Zapp & Roger's track "Computer Love" an inanimate object is worshipped and then romanticized by a love affair. The song literally depicts a computer falling in love with a woman and attempts to communicate with her by seductively flashing the words "Fee Fi Fo Fum" on the screen.

This one-off Belgian New Beat project from The Zodiacs at first glance seems like standard fare from this time and place in dance music history - even with call to action, commanding listeners to ‘Move & Dance To The New Beat!’ that could well have earned a place at one of the slogans of the entire movement in an alternative universe where this record was a hit. However, a hit it was not - what we have here is an obscure piece of music shrouded in mystery, previously released only on 7 inch, and its enigmatic nature only adds to eerie quality of the children’s voices throughout the record. This, alongside its higher tempo not usually associated with New Beat as a musical form, come together to bring forth a bizarre oddity of the genre that also has the potency of a modern, peak time weapon. Anatolian Weapons on remix duties takes the material and reduces the speed but increases the malevolence and is a testament to his skills as one of the great producers working today!

Brooklyn’s Broad Channel drops its first-ever collaborative release, “Intercity Relations Guide – Volume 1”. This special 4-track EP bridges vibrant underground scenes from NYC, Chicago, Detroit, and Japan, featuring tracks from Mark Grusane, Deon Jamar, DJ Monchan & Aota, and Derek Russo & Thomas Xu. Born out of a moment of inspiration in the fall of 2024 after returning from Japan, label founder Derek Russo envisioned this release as a bridge – linking the warm relationships built at home & abroad that were nurtured over years of DJing, producing, and hosting underground parties like Xoloft in
Brooklyn. The EP flows across a chugging tempo range, between 113 and 120 BPM, It’s a reflection of the label’s core ethos and catalog to date: genre-blurring and always rooted in the dancefloor.

Detroit house and techno staple DJ Holographic launches her new label, Through The Veil, with the release of her newest 12” EP with influences that trace back to the Detroit funk of the ‘60s. ‘House In The Dark’ part of a new body of work that will channel Holographic’s deep ties to astrology.

DJ Holographic’s spiritual journey has taken her deep into the practice of shadow work, a type of psychotherapy that allows her access to repressed parts of herself, finding answers about everything from her childhood experiences to romantic relationships to creative blocks. Born and raised in Detroit, this experience of inner exploration has educated and empowered her and serves as the inspiration behind her new project.

Holographic will debut this extremely personal work fully uninhibited on her new label. The releases correspond to each zodiac sign and will arrive monthly alongside her busy tour dates as she bears the flag of Detroit through global electronic music’s most regarded spaces/parties.

Für die 9-köpfige (meist) instrumentale Combo The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble aus San Diego waren Jazz und Funk schon immer die beiden Genres, die sie konsequent und effektiv miteinander verschmolzen haben und die das Fundament ihres Sounds bilden. Mit ihrer stilistischen Neugier und Vielseitigkeit haben sie dieses Fundament auf ihrem neuen 11-Song-Longplayer für Colemine Records weiter ausgebaut. Aufgenommen zwischen Ende 2021 und Anfang 2024 im The Kitchen II in ihrer Heimat Lemon Grove, Kalifornien, lenken SFSE ihre ,introspektive Partymusik" in neue klangliche Gefilde. Während ihr Breakbeat-lastiger Funk-Soul-Jazz immer noch der Eckpfeiler ihres Sounds ist, wie er in Stücken wie ,Makin' Moves", ,TheGrifter" und ,Don't Trip" zum Ausdruck kommt, haben sie begonnen, mehr und mehr Einflüsse von Library-Musik-Labels wie KPM Music, spirituell orientierten Jazz-Labels wie Tribe & Black Jazz Records und exotisch angehauchten Jazz-Künstlern wie Cal Tjader und Dorothy Ashby aufzunehmen. Jetzt lehnen sie sich mehr an den ,introspektiven" Teil ihres Sounds an, insbesondere bei ,Mother Earth", ,Freddie" und dem Titeltrack, und beschwören die Geister von Freddie Hubbard, Phil Ranelin, Wendell Harrison, Bubbha Thomas, Chester Thompson und sogar Cannonball Adderley in seiner kopflastigsten und kosmischsten Zeit herauf (hören Sie sich Adderleys Alben ,Soul Zodiac" und ,Soul of The Bible" als Referenz an). ,Corporatocracy" geht noch einen Schritt weiter mit einem ausgedehnten Tabla-Solo, das auf der perkussiven Welle reitet, bevor es in seinen funkgetriebenen, modalen Vibe übergeht. In der aktuellen Besetzung mit Tim Felten an den Tasten, Jake Najor am Schlagzeug, Omar Lopez am Bass, Kiko Cornejo Jr. an Conga/Percussion, Aquiles ,Lito" Magana an der Gitarre, Wili Fleming an der Posaune, Sheryll Felten an der Percussion, und Jesse Audelo und Travis Klein am Saxophon und an der Flöte. SFSE bleibt dem Funk treu, traut sich aber auch, neue Wege zu gehen, die sie bisher noch nicht beschritten haben, und betritt damit faszinierendes Neuland in ihrem Gesamtsound.
