London-via-Accra artist BLACK FONDU shares his seven-track debut EP ‘BLACKFONDUISM’, following the underground momentum of singles ‘im not sleeping’ and the Steve Lamacq BBC 6 Music-premiered ‘holla back girl’. Available on vinyl, and with a self-directed video for ‘#music’, the project marks the first full expression of a voice emerging as one of the UK’s most uncompromising new forces.

‘BLACKFONDUISM’ captures that evolution in its rawest form. The EP came together quickly through instinct and freestyling, recorded between his room in London and a short period in Paris. Each track reflects a world he understood only after living through it. ‘IN D4 CLUB’ channels the exhilaration of acceleration, ‘BOYS’ explores the foundation provided by maternal love, ‘im not sleeping’ confronts denial after more than twenty revisions, ‘C00N V2’ marks a moment of creative rebirth, and ‘BLACK1E’ navigates the tension between self-perception and the world’s gaze. Closing track ‘#music’ distills the entire project into one statement.

Working alone has brought challenges, but he has learned to trust the emotional volatility that fuels the work. “I care so much and would die for this, but I cannot let it kill me. I have to trust myself the same way I trust myself when I make music.”

At 21, BLACK FONDU has carved out a sound that collides hyperpop, noise, rap, punk energy and abstract grime into something instinctive and volatile. Influenced by everything from Rachmaninoff to MF DOOM to Xiu Xiu, he writes, produces and performs every element, including the fractured visuals that accompany his tracks. Praise from BBC 6 Music, Pitchfork, NME, The Quietus, Pigeons & Planes, METAL and Line of Best Fit has positioned him as one of the most intriguing new voices in the UK underground, with explosive live shows across London, the UK and Europe.

With BLACKFONDUISM, he introduces a universe that refuses to sit still. “I wanted this EP to act as an introduction to my worlds. It felt important to put this out so I can do anything after.” He hopes listeners feel alive when they hear it, and jokes that he wants the record to “evolve music, even just a little.”

BLACK FONDU’s sound remains a paradox, abrasive and fragile, chaotic and meticulous, always guided by instinct. Or, as he puts it, “A bit fucked. But alive.”

About DJ Yoke..

Born in the small city of Aveiro, Portugal, DJ Yoke (Gabriel Casal) is a hip hop DJ and producer with over two decades of experience shaping the underground scene. In 2011, he was awarded Hip Hop Band of the Year in Portugal and crowned champion of the DMC Battle Supremacy, alongside multiple finalist appearances in the same competition.

Known for blending raw hip hop beats with broken beat and groove-driven textures, DJ Yoke has built a solid independent catalogue, including three solo albums and three beat tapes released independently.

In 2025, he unveils Yoke Fora de Órbita, a landmark release that represents a more mature and refined stage of his artistic journey. The album marks his first physical release, available on vinyl and cassette, and reflects the strong influence of his recent years based in London.

Conceived to be performed both as a live act with musicians and as a DJ set, Yoke Fora de Órbita expands Yoke’s sonic universe beyond the traditional DJ format. Live performances with musicians are scheduled for London, Lisbon, and other European cities.

Zum ersten Mal überhaupt ist eine anzügliche Auswahl von EDGE OF SANITYs obskuren, frühesten Aufnahmen offiziell auf 2LP (23 Tracks) Unter dem Titel "Elegy - Chapter I" wurden die frühen (Promo-, Pro-be- oder Studio-) Demos "Euthanasia" (1989), "The Immortal Rehearsals" (1990), "kur-nu-gi-a" (1990), "The Dead" (1990) und "Dead But Dreaming" (1991) von Songwriter/Frontmann/Produzent Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Bloodbath) vom Friedhof in die Leichenhalle zur Wiederbelebung gebracht. Alle fünf Demos wurden von Swanö neu gemastert, wobei die 13 Tracks von "Euthanasia", "kur-nu-gi-a" und "The Dead" für die Bonus-Disc auch nekromantische Remixe erhalten haben. Peripheral Minimal records is proud to present it's latest release: Cold Colors / Xiu "Tristesse" 7". The single comes from a cassette released by Vocoder Tapes in 2013. It will be limited to 250 copies on black vinyl.

The two tracks on the 7" are beautifully constructed minimal wave / synth tracks, that are simultaneously melancholic and uplifting, perhaps for comparison we could think of: Figure Study, Xeno & Oaklander or Selofan.

Cold Colors is Frédérick Barbe who hails from Bordeaux. He has released material on several well-known labels, including: Lux Rec, Oráculo Records, Waste Editions, Nocta Numerica, F.I.R., Romance Moderne, and now Peripheral Minimal.

Xiu is Oksana Rodionova who is based in Milan but originates from Estonia. "Xiu's music is a synthesis between retro-pop and futurist synth waves. It delivers spacy looped electronica, groovy rhythms, linear lo-fi synth washes, softly dreamy pop melodies sometimes admitting dramatic tones and mysterious textural ambiences. The conceptual background deals with thematics related to dystopia, occult arts and mystic beliefs."

The recordings were made between France and Italy during the "Loneliness" E.P. sessions 2013 / 14.

Haunted Heart: The Legendary Riverside Studio Recordings brings together the complete studio recordings by the Bill Evans Trio featuring Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian. Included are the albums Portrait in Jazz and Explorations, plus 26 alternate takes - 17 previously unreleased. The collection includes rare photos, introduction by John Densmore (The Doors), and new liner notes by Eugene Holley Jr. and audio is newly remastered by Paul Blakemore, with lacquers cut by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.

Anthology 4 - Triple LP. The new volume from The Beatles Anthology Collection.

Anthology 4, is newly curated by Giles Martin, including 13 previously unreleased demos, plus fascinating session and other rare recordings dating from 1963 to 1969. It also includes the band’s final single, ‘Now And Then’, released in 2023, and new mixes of The Beatles’ Anthology-associated hit singles: the GRAMMY-winning ‘Free As A Bird’ and ‘Real Love’, given new life by their original producer, Jeff Lynne, using de-mixed John Lennon vocals. Furthermore, Anthology 4 presents 26 tracks that have never previously been released on vinyl.

The track notes are written by Kevin Howlett with an introduction compiled from 1996 interviews recorded with The Beatles’ close friend and adviser Derek Taylor.

Pressed on 180g black vinyl, the triple LP is housed within poly-lined inner bags and a triple gatefold sleeve.

Ihr Lo-Fi-Stil und die oft ironischen, abstrakten Texte haben allerdings eine treue Fangemeinde aufgebaut. Wie seltsam bahnbrechend diese wunderbar verspulte wie verspielte Band ist, wurde einem gerade erst jüngst wieder im Kino durch den Film "Pavements" bewusst, dessen Soundtrack jetzt auf Vinyl und CD erscheinen wird. Der Soundtrack, zusammengestellt vom Pavement-Produzenten/Cutter Robert Greene und der Band selbst, vereint disparate Elemente des Films. Dazu gehören Dialog-Ausschnitte, Szenen aus dem fiktiven Oscar-Köder-Biopic "Range Life", sowie Aufnahmen der Besetzung aus dem Jukebox-Musical "Slanted! Enchanted!". Ergänzt wird das Ganze durch Live- und Probe-Aufnahmen der Reunion-Tour der Gruppe im Jahr 2021. LP2 begins with Donna Summer’s epic version of ‘MacArthur Park’, before Earth, Wind & Fire with The Emotions bring pure euphoria on ‘Boogie Wonderland’, and McFadden & Whitehead with the floor-filling ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’. Great vocals from Marvin Gaye and Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes come ahead of George McCrae’s ‘Rock Your Baby’, one of the collections’ earliest and inspirational moments. UK artist Tina Charles hit the top with ‘I Love To Love’, and Andrea True Connection complete the side with the ear-worm ‘More More More’ whilst over on the other side legends Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons hit dancefloor gold and the #1 spot with ‘December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)’, ahead of The Trammps with their era-defining ‘Disco Inferno’. A Taste Of Honey, Grace Jones and a second appearance from Diana Ross are up next – before the LP closes with an enduring classic, ‘Follow Me’ from Amanda Lear, Patrick Juvet’s ‘I Love America’, and Frantique with ‘Strut Your Funky Stuff’.

The anthemic ‘Got To Be Real’ from Cheryl Lynn is next ahead of the trio of closing tracks: Odyssey with the sublime ‘Native New Yorker’, Thelma Houston’s Grammy-winning ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’, and fittingly, Donna Summer’s iconic ‘Last Dance’, ending the collection in perfect style.

Hüsker Dü. Live. 1985. Das transzendente Punk-Trio aus Minneapolis in seinem explosivsten Jahr, live aufgenommen auf der Bühne im First Avenue, in der vielleicht am besten klingenden Aufnahme der gefeierten SST-Ära der Band. Die First-Avenue-Bänder von 1985 zeigen Hüsker Dü in Höchstform mit bereits beliebten Songs, ein paar Jahre bevor sie ihren Status als Blaupause für den kommenden Alternative-Rock-Boom endgültig gefestigt hatten. "Magical Thinking", Faraos drittes Studioalbum, entfaltet sich als vielschichtige Reise durch Verlust, Sehnsucht und Verwandlung. In Anlehnung an den Titel und den Geist von Joan Didions "The Year of Magical Thinking" bewegt es sich durch das stille Terrain zwischen Verleugnung und Akzeptanz - wo Trauer nicht gelöst, sondern getragen wird. Es sind Songs über Wiederaufbau und Widerstandsfähigkeit, geprägt von Themen wie Trauer, Mutterschaft und den wesentlichen Ritualen, die uns aufrecht halten, wenn die Klarheit schwindet. Das Album wurde zwischen Oslo und Berlin aufgenommen und pulsiert mit dem Flair des R&B der 90er Jahre, dem Glanz der 80er-Disco und der kontemplativen Schwungkraft des spirituellen Jazz - allesamt verankert durch Faraos intime Vocals und komplexe Arrangements. Vom ersten Schimmern von ,Waiting for You", wo Herzschmerz in Pailletten gekleidet ist und ein Groove an Robyn und Chaka Khan erinnert, lädt uns das Album in eine Welt ein, in der Sehnsucht zum Leuchten gebracht wird. In ,Spiritual Garden", benannt nach einer flüchtigen Textzeile von Janet Jackson, schafft Farao eine feuchte, narkotische R&B-Träumerei. Percussion im Stil von Timbaland und seidige Basslines umhüllen die unerwarteten Texturen ihrer Zither und beschwören eine Meditation über Verlassenheit und die fragile Rückeroberung des Selbstwertgefühls herauf. Wenn ,Dreamy Ride" einsetzt - wo Aaliyahs Coolness auf Dorothy Ashbys kosmische Harfe trifft -, gleitet das Album in nächtliche Bewegungen, eine R&B-Fantasie für nächtliche Autofahrten um 2 Uhr morgens, wobei ihre Zither sich wie ein Leitstern durch den Mix webt. Der verspielte Synth-Jam ,Hey Ladies" und eine kühne Neuinterpretation von Brandys ,Full Moon" lockern die Stimmung in der Mitte des Albums auf. Ersterer ist eine freche, einminütige Hommage an Destiny's Child, letzterer eine nächtliche Elegie, die einen geliebten Klassiker in tiefe Bässe und schimmernde Synthesizer hüllt. Dann kommt ,Xiang Xiang", ein intimes Intermezzo, das um eine geflüsterte Stimme einer Freundin herum aufgebaut ist und uns an die realen Bindungen erinnert, die Faraos üppiges Klanguniversum erden. Im Zentrum des Albums steht der Titeltrack ,Magical Thinking", der direkt auf Didions Memoiren Bezug nimmt. Hier zeichnen pulsierende Synthesizer und schwebende Vocals die verschwommene Grenze zwischen Präsenz und Dissoziation nach. Es folgt ,Endelig" (,endlich" auf Norwegisch), ein tiefes Ausatmen - ein minimalistisches, spirituelles Jazz-Intermezzo, das die Illusion einer Auflösung vermittelt. Farao tut sich dann mit dem Ambient-Pionier Laraaji für ,Voice Continues" zusammen, einer weitläufigen, von der Vierten Welt inspirierten Meditation, in der Zither, mehrschichtige Vocals und Synth-Texturen einen Klangteppich bilden, der die Spuren mütterlicher Liebe über Generationen hinweg nachzeichnet. ,Tschüssi" (ein luftiger deutscher Abschiedsgruß) wird zum Gefäß für etwas weit Schwerwiegenderes: ein Abschied, durchzogen von sich wiederholenden Erinnerungen und emotionaler Desorientierung, aufgebaut um ein gespenstisches Fragment aus Faraos Track ,Marry Me". Das Album schließt mit ,Sleep It O" zu einer verschwommenen, gnädigen Note, einem Wiegenlied für die Überwältigten - eine letzte Erlaubnis, sich auszuruhen, loszulassen, sich einfach hinzulegen. Keine Verheißung der Heilung, sondern eine mitfühlende Pause in einem Album, das von Sehnsucht und Illusion geprägt ist.
