For its latest release, Last Year in Marienbad welcomes back French producer Moonee, who delivers an EP brimming with his signature blend of euphoric and emotive grooves.

One of François Lefevre’s main aliases, Moonee explores the airier side of dance music, crafting deeply immersive sonic experiences that evoke introspection and escapism. While initially focused on deep house, his sound has evolved across recent releases, particularly on his Sandquest LP for OATH. Analog Africa doesn't do anything other than special releases really, but this one tracing the label's origins back to Zimbabwe over 20 years ago is a real standout. "Are You in Heaven?" was famously shouted by Roxy DJ Eddy de Clercq to the crowd at one of the very first legendary house parties in Amsterdam. This phrase not only symbolizes an iconic moment that captured the spirit of the era—it’s also the title of one of the three tracks featured here.

In 1991, inspired by the dance music craze that swept across Europe at the time, Arnoud Winkler and Jochem Peteri (who would later become the one-man supergroup Newworldaquarium) produced music that is equal parts euphoric, emotive, vital, and vibrant—youthful in spirit, naive yet clever. A European translation of a US-American art form, born from pure enthusiasm and concentrated passion for a culture that, to this day, continues to resonate universally.
Originally released on Lower East Side Records, the story told here is full of rave symbolism, after-party joy, and literal can-you-feel-it moments: rattling sub-bass, blissful pads, whispering voices, dub techniques, and subconscious peak-time signals.
Complemented by a new edit of Ulysses Horizon by Gerd Janson (alongside a revised version of the original), alongside Flowerdale Beach, and Are You in Heaven?, the music here hasn’t lost a single inch of its charm or allure. A taste of Dutch house deluxe.

"Dame café", originally released on Discos Fuentes in 1965 to meet the tropical music demand of the time, features a mix of traditional rhythms like vallenato and cumbia, alongside more experimental beats. The vibrant musical scene of the 1960s in Colombia owes much to a group of versatile accordionists who blended genres such as cumbia, charanga, guaracha, vallenato, and Cuban-influenced rhythms. This group included notable figures like Andrés Landero, Aníbal Velásquez, Lisandro Meza, and Alfredo Gutiérrez, among others. A prime example of their diverse musical styles is the album "Dame café", released in November 1965, which features a mix of traditional rhythms like vallenato and cumbia, alongside more experimental beats such as paseaíto and pasaje. The album includes six previously released singles composed by José Castro, Policarpo Calle, and others. The album highlights the commercial strategy of Discos Fuentes, which often created short-lived studio bands to meet the tropical music demand of the time. Los Gavilanes de la Costa, the band behind "Dame café", had a brief existence but left a lasting impact, especially in Mexico's sonidero scene. The group's creation was driven by the high demand for tropical music in the 1960s, with many musicians adjusting to market trends. Most of the members, including composers Campillo and Castro, vanished from the scene, while others, like Calle and Zambrano, went on to have notable careers in music. Calle, in particular, became a cumbia legend, later settling in Mexico City. The album "Dame café" has gained cult status due to its rarity and the intrigue surrounding its origins. The album features a remarkable contribution from Colombian jazz legend Justo Almario, who, at just 16 years old, played tenor sax on the track 'Pues no da pa' más'. Over the years, pirate editions and elusive original copies have made it a highly sought-after collector's item. The album's lively sound, combining accordion melodies, deep bass, and vibrant guacharaca rhythms, continues to resonate in the tropical music scene.

If that wasn’t enough it’s backed up with not one but two previously unreleased versions – ‘Set It Off (Bang Mix)’ & ‘Set If Off (Original Dub)’. This package is a testament to Chris’ production and all the tracks sounds as fresh now as when they were first committed to DAT during those heady foundational days.

Swedish EBM hero Celldod is back on Electronic Emergencies with a full album on transparent magenta vinyl! Pa Liv Och Dod is an electronically driven emotional bomb with references to D.A.F. and Front 242. Black Truffle is pleased to announce the release of Ichida, the first release from the duo of two important yet often underappreciated musicians, Eiko Ishibashi and Darin Gray. Ishibashi is a singer-songwriter, keyboardist, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist, known in Japan both for her own elaborately conceptual solo albums and for her frequent collaborations with figures such as Jim O'Rourke, Merzbow, and Phew. Darin Gray is a bassist and multi-instrumentalist known for a multitude of collaborations (with O'Rourke and Loren Connors, among many others), for On Fillmore, his cinematic post-exotica project with Glenn Kotche, and as one half of Chikamorachi with Chris Corsano, one of the finest free-jazz rhythm sections around. Presenting the entirely of a live set performed at Tokyo's Super Deluxe in March 2013, the set begins as a duet for Ishibashi's flute and Gray's upright bass. Calmly melodic yet harmonically inventive, with shades of 'spiritual jazz', the pair's acoustic ruminations are gradually joined by Ishibashi's lush electronics, which randomly flicker between chords in a manner recalling the classic work of David Behrman. As the electronics build into a gloomy fog of slowly cycling loops, Gray lays his bass aside and turns to making strangely mournful interjections on a mouthpiece. Eventually Ishibashi moves to the piano, enveloping the audience in rippling pools of sustained, octave-doubled melody, provided by Gray's bass with a fluid and dynamic foundation. For much of the second side, both Ishibashi and Gray turn to electronics, ultimately arriving in a bizarre space of melancholic arpeggios and random sputter and sizzle, oddly reminiscent of 70s outsider prog acts like Wapassou. An uneasy coda of rich piano chords ends the set. Captured in warm room ambience and beautifully mixed by Jim O'Rourke, Ichida is a rare combination of improvisational acumen and emotional directness, both adventurous and immediately accessible.

Drawing inspiration from 1970s and 80s synthesizer music, Detroit techno, and cinematic soundtracks, his work often evokes a sense of eerie futurism.

This release includes the first two volumes—with Volume 2 featuring an unreleased track—and two additional chapters that further enrich the series’ narrative. Best Record thus creates ''the triplet'' of the Italo-Disco operas made by the immense musician from Bologna, who used various nicknames at that time - as the trend of the main Italian arrangers - feeling 'a certain shame' in making commercial pieces, songs that were danced in the discos. He hid under dozens of pseudonyms (Adal-Scandy, Azoto, Bulldog Lama, Sandon, Super Band....) ''Magic'' and ''Precious Lies'' kept hidden, almost buried for over 40 years (but with many followers abroad) now shine their own light! Indeed. Regal launches Backspin Records with a first seismic release by Cristian Varela. With the Supraconscience EP, Varela delivers a masterclass in groove-driven intensity, further defining Backspin's mission to resurrect and reimagine the pulse of early2000s techno.

For the 1st release, Nømad Soul recalls the 80s/90s nostalgia with its Transpace EP, a futuristic universe with retro sounds.. Side A emanates from body music beats into a ravy atmosphere, towards techno of sideral dimensions with a B-side from the deep space..

This newly formed and already brilliant label is back with more previously unreleased instrumentals that bring a different twist and dancefloor edge to classic sounds from the rock and indie world. First up we get a subtle edit of 'Sound and Vision' which has a nice fat and funky bassline bouncing beneath the splashy drums as nice acoustic guitar melodies ring out next to glistening retro-future pads. It's a cosmic trip that oozes soul then things slow down on the flip with 'Young Americans'. This one is a nice go-slow instrumental with funky and expressive horn work taking the lead over the fat-bottomed drums and bass.

The legendary New Jersey House collective Smack were responsible for a long list of hits throughout the 90's, with members of the team producing under a number of different aliases and alongside Blaze, Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries were at the forefront of the New Jersey sound.

One such alias was Princess Di, produced by Smack Productions own Healey LeCator and featuring an unknown vocalist. Together they released a string of X-rated house tracks from 1994 until 1996 that have gone on to be cult classics, standing the test of time.
