1965 bewiesen die Stones mit Out Of Our Heads, dass sie in der Lage waren, klassische Rock-Singles zu schreiben, die ihre R&B- und Blues-Wurzeln aufgriffen, sie aber in einen gitarrenlastigeren, durch und durch zeitgenössischen Kontext stellten. Die amerikanische Version dieser Kollektion hatte ein anderes Coverdesign und eine andere Tracklist, um zwei der großen Stones-Singles zu präsentieren - The Last Time (und die bedrohliche, folkige B-Seite Play With Fire) und das klassische, riff-orientierte Satisfaction - einer der Schlüsselmomente der Rock- und Popgeschichte! I’m All Right (basierend auf einem Riff im Stil von Bo Diddley) zeigt den Sound von 1965 von seiner rauesten Seite, während The Spider And The Fly eine schöne, rollende Version des Blues ist.

The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Yas Out gilt als eines der besten Live-Rockalben aller Zeiten und erscheint nun auf Vinyl. Ein außergewöhnliches musikalisches Dokument zweier Novembernächte im Madison Square Gardens im Jahr 1969 - die rohe Energie von Sympathy For The Devil, Jumpin’ Jack Flash und Honky Tonk Women bestätigt ihren Ruf als größte Live-Attraktion jener Zeit, vielleicht sogar ALLER Zeiten! Lester Bangs, der das Originalalbum in der Novemberausgabe 1970 des Rolling Stone besprach, schrieb: ”Es ist noch zu früh, um es zu sagen, aber ich beginne zu glauben, dass Ya-Ya’s das beste Album sein könnte, das sie je gemacht haben. Ich habe keinen Zweifel daran, dass es das beste Rockkonzert ist, das je aufgenommen wurde.

Wie eine frische Brise, die durch ein nach langer Zeit wieder geöffnetes Fenster hineinweht, klingt „Visions”, das neunte Solo-Studioalbum der neunfachen GRAMMY-Preisträgerin, Sängerin, Songwriterin und Pianistin Norah Jones. „Visions“ entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Produzent und Multiinstrumentalist Leon Michels, der die singende und Klavier, Keyboards, Gitarre und Bass spielende Künstlerin am Schlagzeug sowie an Bass, Gitarre und Saxophon begleitet. Auf einigen Songs sind zudem als Gäste Brian Blade (Drums), Dave Guy (Trompete) und Jesse Murphy (Bass) zu hören. ”Visions” zeigt Norah Jones in Bestform, sanft rockend und groovend, mit zwölf Song über eine neu empfundene spirituelle Freiheit. Man kann das Album als das Yang zum Yin von ”Pick Me Up Off The Floor” betrachten, Jones’ letztem Studio-Album mit eigenen Songs, das zu Beginn des Corona-Lockdowns im Jahr 2020 veröffentlicht wurde und viele der dunkleren Emotionen jener Zeit aufgriff.

Bennett brings a wealth of experience to the single, infusing the track with his signature Spanish Flamenco guitar techniques, adding a unique and vibrant flavour to the traditional Reggae sound.

The Viceroys, who are from the heart of Jamaica and regarded as veterans in the Reggae scene, lend their authentic and soulful vocals to the collaboration, adding an extra layer of authenticity and nostalgia to the single.

Bill Evans and Stan Getz are about as close as musicians can get in terms of artistry, musical philosophy, technique, and personality. These previously unreleased sessions, recorded in 1963 with drummer Elvin Jones and a mix of bassists Ron Carter (Side A) and Richard Davis (Side B) are a perfect harmony of their strong individual styles and collaborative sensibilities with both at the peak of their creative careers.

Charlotte de Witte Kicks Off 2024 With a New Label and Rework of One Of Techno’s Most Iconic Tracks


January 15,2024 - Today, techno force of nature Charlotte de Witte unveils a two-part homage to an iconic era of Belgium’s underground club scene with the debut of an archival label within her KNTXT imprint and a rework of one of the most anthemic techno tracks of all time. Appropriately titled Époque, this sonic time capsule aims to simultaneously preserve and reimagine the spirit, sounds and discotheque culture of the late 90’s and early 2000’s for a new generation. As head of the label, de Witte will kick off its release on February 9 with her own spin on the Belgian techno classic, “Universal Nation” by M.I.K.E Push.



Released in 1998 and originally written by M.I.K.E. Push as a B side for a different project, “Universal Nation” quickly solidified its reputation at the turn of the century as an iconic and defining track of this era in electronic music history. Reimagined through de Witte’s high-energy lens, this rework is an ode to one of her favorite classics.
