Daryl Runswick is a musical polymath, a top Jazz double bass player he has played with the likes of Stan Sulzmann, Alan Branscombe , Henry Lowther and Tony Coe to name but a few but is also a TV composer, was bassist and then pianist for Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth and is also a highly regarded contemporary classical composer. In Young Man Songs we find Daryl in song writer mode, teaming up with lyricist Kerry Lee Crabbe, these songs come from the 80 when Daryl was a young man trying to sell his musical wares these are more than demos, beautifully recorded and performed, echoes of Bacharach but ultimately Daryl has his own unique musical voice.

This album, except for one track, dates from the 1982 sessions, wonderfully recorded by John Burns.

SNECKER is the musical union of German born Panorama Bar resident DJ nd_baumecker and American musician and performer Snax. An initial foray making a bootleg remix of a Lady Gaga track led to weekly meetings at Baumecker's studio on the legendary Berghain nightclub campus. Jams would last for hours as Baumecker tinkered with his vast array of gear, Snax hoped from keyboard to keyboard and everything was recorded. At Snax's studio across town, arrangements were solidified and vocals added. Soon, files and files of heady, psychedelic and groovy music was piling up on hard drives and after Snecker's first release on Vienna's Freeride Millenium and a track on the 8th Permanent Vacation compilation, the boys now present "How To Dream" EP on Permanent Vacation. Four tracks (and some tools for creative DJs to be found on the vinyl release) full of blends of House, Boogie and Disco only a duo with a long creative history can provide.

Matt Berry releases a unique collaboration with esteemed Library Music label KPM. KPM is renowned for providing the musical bedrock for so many classics of British TV and international cinema, using the best British composers such as Keith Mansfield, Alan Hawkshaw, John Cameron and Alan Moorhouse to do so. ‘Simplicity’ follows in the footsteps of these giants and is a worthy successor to them. Alongside his formidable acting career, Matt Berry has released a series of acclaimed albums on the Acid Jazz label. Ranging from the folk stylings of ‘Kill The Wolf’, the ambient electronica of ‘Music For Insomniacs’, to the psych rock of ‘Blue Elephant’, these have marked Berry out as an impressive musician and recording artist in his own right. Embodying the form of KPM’s original LPs geared towards film and television pitching, the album consists of 11 sharp and vibrant instrumentals, which will no doubt be heard in productions for many years to come. Released in special collaboration with Acid Jazz, the album is presented in a beautiful graphic sleeve, with notes that allude to the original KPM releases, for something that is instantly hip and familiar, yet unmistakably new.

”Outside Problems”.
Die Sammlung von neun flüchtigen, ausgedehnten Momenten instrumentaler Improvisation und melodischer
Erkundung, die am Freitag, den 17.11. über Loma Vista Recordings physisch veröffentlicht werden , bilden
ein neues Album, das den Klang von Musik im Alltag einfängt. Ähnlich wie beim Entstehungsprozess
seiner Echolocations-Serie hat Bird ”Outside Problems” hauptsächlich im Freien aufgenommen, inmitten
der Berge und Orangenhaine von Ojai, Kalifornien. ”Outside Problems” ist sowohl ein Vorläufer als auch
eine Erweiterung der Welt, die er im Laufe dieses jüngsten Kapitels seiner unermüdlich produktiven Karriere
aufgebaut und durchdacht hat, und legte den Grundstein für viele der Songs, Gedanken und komplexen
Fragen, die ”Inside Problems” von 2022 füllen. Die Arrangements und Motive von ”Outside Problems” in
Tracks wie ”Epilogue”, ”Mormon House Party”, ”Tik Tok” und anderen entwickelten sich zu Themen, die
Bird in ”Inside Problems” weiter verfeinern würde, wie er erklärt.

Kontrabass-Doyen Arild Andersen nimmt seit mehr als fünfzig Jahren bei ECM auf und stellt sich gerne
neuen Herausforderungen. Die erste Aufnahme mit diesem jüngst formierten Quartett – zu dem auch
die aufstrebenden Norweger Marius Neset und Helge Lien (jeweils selbst Bandleader) gehören – ist fast
vollständig improvisiert. Die Musiker gehen dieses Wagnis gemeinsam ein und entwickeln Formen im
Moment: ein Lehrstück in spontaner Gruppenkreativität. Affrmation wurde im November 2021 im Osloer
Rainbow Studio aufgenommen.

2004 auf Platz 10; das Album war insgesamt 73 Wochen in den deutschen Charts vertreten. und wurde
mit 7-fach Gold ausgezeichnet. Evanescence erhielt für dieses Album zwei GRAMMYs in den Kategorien
Best New Artist und Best Hard Rock Performance für ”Bring Me To Life”. Seit seiner Veröffentlichung
hat sich Fallen mit über 17 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren weltweit zu einem der meistverkauften Alben
aller Zeiten entwickelt.
Das komplette Album wurde remastered & enthält eine alternative Version von „My Immortal“ sowie
Demo Aufnahmen von „Bring Me To Live“ sowie Live-Versionen davon, die Singles „Breath No More“,
„Farther Away“ & „Missing“ die ebenfalls während der Aufnahme für „Fallen“ entstanden sind.

Der absolute Frank Zappa Klassiker ”Over-Nite Sensation” wird 50. Für manche ist es der Einstieg in die
Zappa-Welt, zusammen mit dem folgenden Album Apostrophe von 1974. Es war auch das erste ZappaAlbum, das im Quadraphonic Surround Sound veröffentlicht wurde. Mit diesem Album änderte sich die
musikalische Ausrichtung von ”The Mothers”, denn Frank übernahm den Großteil des Gesangs und war
der einzige Gitarrist. Es war eine neue Band, ein neuer Sound und schließlich wurde das Album mit Gold
ausgezeichnet. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde fast jeder Song von ”Over-Nite Sensation” zu einem Live-Hit
und zu einem Fan-Favoriten. Auch 50 Jahre später ist das Album immer noch eines der Highlights im
Zappa-Katalog und ein Dauerbrenner.
Neben der 4CD+Blu-ray-Box gibt es auch eine Vinyl Edition: eine 2LP 180 Gramm schwarzes audiophiles Vinyl. Die Vinyl-Edition wurden von Chris Bellman bei Bernie Grundman Mastering im Jahr 2023
mit 45rpm vom analogen Originalband geschnitten. Die Vinyl-Edition enthält als Bonus ein 24”x12” Poster

Am 15. Mai 1953 trafen sich fünf der einflussreichsten Jazzmusiker - Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles
Mingus, Max Roach und Bud Powell - in der Massey Hall in Toronto, um ihre erste und einzige bekannte Aufnahme als Quintett zu machen. Obwohl nur ein kleines Publikum die Gelegenheit hatte, diesen
historischen Abend persönlich mitzuerleben, wurde er auf Tonband festgehalten. Das daraus entstandene
Album ”The Quintett: Jazz at Massey Hall”, wurde zu einer der wichtigsten und meist gefeierten Veröffentlichungen des Genres.

Die Singer-Songwriterin und Mental Health Pionierin, Jewel, feiert das 25-jährige Jubiläum ihres mit
Mehrfach-Platin ausgezeichneten zweiten Albums Spirit mit einer erweiterten und neu gemasterten Neuauflage. Das Album erschien 1998 über Craft Recordings. Das am 17. November auf 2-CD und digitalen
Plattformen erscheinende Deluxe-Album enthält den GRAMMY®-nominierten US-Top-10-Hit ”Hands”, die
Fan-Favoriten ”Down So Long” und ”Jupiter (Swallow the Moon)” sowie 23 Bonustracks, darunter acht
bisher unveröffentlichte Demos und Outtakes, seltene Live-Auftritte aus dieser Zeit, alternative Aufnahmen,
Remixe und vieles mehr. Zusätzlich wird das ursprüngliche 13-Track-Album als 2-LP-Set neu aufgelegt,

John Vincent III, ein 26-jähriger Americana-Künstler, intensivierte seine Liebe zur Musik 2014 in Houston,
TX. Inspiriert von einzigartigen Lyrikern wie Bon Iver, The Districts und The Doors, begann John Vincent

innerhalb der letzten vier Jahre in verschiedenen Sessions entstanden sind, setzt der Slacker-Star seine ganz
eigenen EP-Maßstäbe. Das fast einstündige ”Back To Moon Beach” repräsentiert für ihn einen Querschnitt
durch die vielen inspirierenden Begegnungen und Kreationen innerhalb seiner Musik-Community. Es zeigt

„Worrisome Heart“ ist das Album, mit dem für Melody Gardot 2005 eine große Karriere begann. Jetzt
ist der moderne Klassiker in einer limitierten rosa Vinylversion erhältlich. „Worrisome Heart“ stellte die
damals 22 Jahre junge Singer-Songwriterin als kommenden Pop-Jazz-Star des 21. Jahrhunderts vor. Die
zehn Titel des Albums sind von Blues, Folk und Jazz durchdrungen und stellen Melodys betörend schöne
Stimme in den Vordergrund.

Accelerate ist das 14. Studioalbum von R.E.M. und wurde 2008 veröffentlicht. Das Album war als Abkehr
von ihrem letzten Album Around the Sun gedacht und wurde für den aggressiven, zielgerichteten Sound
der Songs gelobt. Stipe sagte, seine Texte auf Accelerate seien von der gegenwärtigen Lage der Nation
inspiriert: ”Wenn das Empire den Bach runtergeht, ist es einfach, großartige, wütende Songs zu schreiben”
(Spin). Es debütierte auf Platz 2 der deutschen Charts und hielt sich 23 Wochen lang in den Charts. Das
Album enthält den Fan-Favoriten ”Supernatural Superserious”.

Der Geiger Nils Økland und der Tastenmusiker Sigbjørn Apeland, seit dreißig Jahren musikalische Partner,
erforschen seit langem die Schnittstellen von traditioneller norwegischer Musik und Improvisation. Glimmer,
ein außergewöhnlich schönes Album, nimmt die Volksmusik der westnorwegischen Region Haugalandet als
Ausgangspunkt. Apelands Sammlung von Stücken lokaler Sänger, die dazu beigetragen haben, die Traditionen am Leben zu erhalten, bildet hier die Grundlage des Repertoires, zusammen mit Eigenkompositionen.
Letztere reichen von Stücken, die für einen Film über Lars Hertevig, den großen norwegischen Landschaftsmaler des 19. Jahrhunderts, geschrieben wurden, bis hin zu vom modernistischen Komponisten Fartein

Als Oscar Peterson und Milt Jackson 1962 auf “Very Tall” das allererste Mal die “Klingen kreuzten”,
fragten sich viele Kritiker, weshalb die beiden Jazztitanen nicht schon viel früher zusammengearbeitet hatten. In DownBeat schrieb Leonard Feather damals: “Dies war eine Allianz, die ebenso erfolgreich wie
logisch war. Peterson und Jackson haben musikalisch weitaus mehr gemeinsam, als ihr ansonsten übliches

Die jungen Wilden des Old School Death Metal!
Die Death Metaller PLAGUEMACE sind bereit, ihr Debütalbum Reptilian Warlords am 17. November
2023 via Napalm Records auf die Menschheit loszulassen! Die Old School Death Metal Band wurde 2019
in Dänemark gegründet und veröffentlichte im November 2020 ihre erste EP Primal Priest mit sechs markerschütternden Tracks. Die erbarmungslose Energie und die dreckigen Riffs der Newcomer entfesseln auf
der Bühne einem brutalen Wirbel aus Gitarren-Schreddern, Headbanging und dem puren Wahnsinn. Bereits
im ersten Jahr ihrer jungen Karriere haben PLAGUEMACE bereits 25 Konzerte absolviert, darunter mehrere
Headliner Shows sowie Support Slots für Bands wie Baest, Katla und Crocell. Bisheriges Highlight war die

Mit “Story Of Everything” veröffentlicht die mehrfache Grammy Gewinnerin Sheryl Crow ihr neues Studioalbum. Die amerikanische Rocksängerin und Multiinstrumentalistin wurde durch ihre innovative und
moderne Interpretation des klassischen Roots-Rock zu einer der beliebtesten Mainstream-Rockkünstlerinnen
der 1990er Jahre.
Der Longplayer „Story Of Everything“ ist als Picture Vinyl erhältlich und umfasst insgesamt acht Titel,
darunter unveröffentlichte Songs.

Stephan Micus ist ein einzigartiger Musiker und Komponist. Er sammelt und studiert Instrumente aus der
ganzen Welt und kreiert mit ihnen seine eigenen musikalischen Reisen. Hier liegt nun sein 25. Soloalbum für
ECM vor, dessen Klang von der vier Meter langen tibetischen Dung-Chen-Trompete dominiert wird – einem
Instrument, das Micus vor kurzem erlernt hat und zum ersten Mal einsetzt. Die donnernde Wirkung dieses
Instruments führte zum Namen des Albums und zu den neun Titeln, in denen Gottheiten aus aller Welt

Len Faki recently put out his mammoth LP Fusion, but his new moniker Hardspace finds him harking back to his signature style of specifically editing tracks for his personal club usage.
Working on the album may have helped open him up creatively, but this new project has him investing countless hours and a lot of passion into building the most efficient club tracks imaginable.

Long-time fans of Faki know that he's always edited all of his sets' tracks to uniquely suit his personal mixing style, making his sets sound as tight and cohesive in a way that stands out from the rest. Decades of experience as a producer and DJ for the dancefloor have gone into these edits, re-arranging and re-mixing sometimes forgotten tracks for a new audience. Incorporating his singular understanding of frequencies and floor dynamics, Hardspace is meant to express this side of his musical personality, while Len Faki will continue to explore a more varied approach to producing.

Swapping a lot of weekends away busily touring for much more studio time, the result marks both a technical and also personal achievement for Faki. Improved production skills, tears and emotions all have been poured into Hardspace, which will see a slew of releases in the forthcoming months.

The first volume includes a total of six reworks, both previously unreleased tools of colleague Viers or Helena Hauff's modern acid chug, as well as some 90's classics from Perry & Rhodan, Resist 101 and Ectomorph. All of these tunes have been meticulously pieced together to keep the originals' flavor and ideas, but infuse them with the undeniable power and presence that all Faki produtions have come to hold.

The avant-garde Kraut ensemble Supersempfft laid the foundation for their techno-tropical pop music in 1979 with their debut album "Roboterwerke." In 1981, they followed up with the album "Metaluna," which is now being honored through a re-release on Bureau B. The group, consisting of Dieter Kolb, Franz Knüttel, and Franz Aumüller, fused global influences, experimental sonic landscapes, and surreal lyrics into a unique sonic cosmos. "Metaluna" stands out with its meandering sequences, unconventional rhythms, and psychedelic songwriting that remains groundbreaking even decades later.

Originally released in 2003 on CD via Post-Parlo Records, and two years later on vinyl via Morr Music, the »Home EP« sees Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service) and Andrew Kenny (The American Analog Set) each contributing three original tracks and playing one of the other's songs. This 2023 vinyl edition is released via Morr Music (EU+UK) and Barsuk Records (US). It features the artwork by Jan Kruse, that was originally made for the 2005 Morr Music version.

The EP was released as the fifth and final volume of the early-’00s series of split albums on Austin, TX indie Post-Parlo, the Gibbard/Kenny pairing followed short contributions in the series from such varied notable early-aughts indie artists as Kind of Like Spitting, Britt Daniel (Spoon), Bright Eyes, Pavo and Super XX Man.

Gibbard and Kenny’s installment came out during a prolific era for both writers: The American Analog Set had released the classic »Know By Heart« album in 2001 and followed it in 2003 with the acclaimed »Promise of Love«, while Gibbard’s profile was rising significantly via the critical and commercial success of The Postal Service’s »Give Up« and Death Cab’s »Transatlanticism«. Unlike the more lush arrangements of their main projects, both Kenny and Gibbard took a simple approach for their entry into the Home series, recording on cassette four-track machines in their respective living rooms in New York and Seattle and each performing four exclusive stripped-down tracks (including a cover of one of the other’s songs – Kenny choosing a rendition of Death Cab’s »Line of Best Fit« and Gibbard delivering his version of AmAnSet’s »Choir Vandals«).

»Home EP« showcases two brilliant songwriters whose legacies continue to shine twenty years later. The American Analog Set recently announced »For Forever«, their seventh album and first new music in 18 years, which was released last week and followed the band’s announcement earlier this year that The Numero Group will reissue their first three albums »The Fun of Watching Fireworks« (1996), »From Our Living Room to Yours «(1997), and »The Golden Band« (1999) as a vinyl boxset in early 2024.

With Call on the Old Wise Nitai Hershkovits delivers an entrancing solo album In this largely improvised solo rendering, the pianist draws from broad influences, ranging from his extensive work in jazz contexts and cutting-edge contemporary explorations to his background in classical music. This immaculate balance of idioms gives rise to an abundance of colours and timbres, explored by a pianist, who has successfully forged his very own voice as improviser and shapedesigner. With a soft touch, light action and washing harmonies, Nitai's improvisations unfold like compositions being created in real- time, making Call on the Old Wise a testimony to the pianist's unique inventiveness as well as an essential addition to ECM's celebrated line of solo piano recordings. Since their formation in 1977 Mark Perry’s group Alternative TV have moved far away from their more direct punk rock beginnings into all manner of other areas of music that have sometimes themselves drawn from improvisation, free jazz, industrial and electronic music. On Direct Action, Alternative TV’s first studio album since Opposing Forces in 2015, we are presented with six instrumental tracks which steadily rip apart all expectations as they shed all allusions to rock music in favour of the kinda sonic mutilations that once helped 1979’s classic (and Nurse With Wound list endorsed) Vibing Up the Senile Man (Part One) stumble into weird and wonderful shapes. Direct Action marries guttural electronics to sounds most artists would consign to the bin and through Perry’s long perfected mastery of pulling together disparate strands to create something entirely alchemical and invigorating delivers a unique stamp to the ATV story. With the help of longtime collaborator Dave Morgan alongside the input of Gareth Matthews, Ruth Tidmarsh and Cos Chapman, abstract patterns of dishevelled sound rub alongside occasional percussion, disembodied plasma guitar strums and even what seems like an oboe groaning in a murky corner. Similar to its distant cousin of Vibing…, everything adds up to a whole that’s demanding yet completely rewarding as every listen prises open the dark scab of contemporary malaise to reveal something fresh. The front cover’s homage to an incredible album by a pioneering electronic group we are not going to name should in itself point to the unpredictable nature of the music here.
