Was kann und darf Musik? Auf diese Frage gibt Scott Walker eine Antwort. "Bish Bosch" ist ein düsterer, aber zugleich funkelnder Monolith. Um 2009 herum begann das ehemalige Mitglied der Walker Brothers damit, an diesem Material zu arbeiten. Zusammen mit seinem Co-Produzenten Peter Walsh und einem festen Stamm aus Musikern wie Ian Thomas (Schlagzeug), Hugh Burns (Gitarre), James Stevenson (Gitarre), Alasdair Malloy (Percussion) und John Giblin (Bass) nahm er die Tracks in den folgenden Jahren auf. Nach "Climate Of Hunter" (1984), "Tilt" (1996) und dem tiefdunklen "The Drift" (2006) kreieren die orchestralen Arrangements auf "Bish Bosch" eine aufgeregte Stille. Pointierte klassische Musik trifft auf Breakbeats und verzerrte Gitarren und macht "Bish Bosch" zu einem der wohl intensivsten Hörerlebnisse des Jahres. Unter der Leitung des musikalischen Direktors Mark Warman nahm Scott Walker dieses außergewöhnliche Album in den Londoner Air-Studios auf.

Remasterte 15-Jahres-Jubiläumsedition des 2008er Studioalbums »The Sparrow And The Crow« von US-Singer / Songwriter William Fitzsimmons, mit dem ihm der Durchbruch gelang (u. a. iTunes US Best Singer / Songwriter Album 2008). Erweitert um die Vinylerstveröffentlichung der »Derivates« EP (2010) mit 7 elektroakustischen Bearbeitungen von »The Sparrow And The Crow« Albumtracks sowie dem Kate-Perry-Cover »I Kissed A Girl«. Recorded at the legendary Atlantis Studio in Stockholm, Words Were Coming Out Our Ears captures a unique musical encounter in the moment. Pianist Johan Graden, bassists Vilhelm Bromander and Pär Ola Landin, and drummer Nils Agnas entered the studio without a fixed plan – the music emerged organically through improvisation and attentive interplay.

What sets this album apart is the instrumentation. With two double bass players, the music gains an unusual depth and weight, where the bass not only supports the harmony but also takes on melodic and textural roles. This is no traditional piano trio – rather, it's an ensemble where roles shift constantly, and the sonic landscape is shaped by sensitivity and openness.

One track features additional layers of sound with guest musicians Katarina Agnas on contrabassoon and Emil Strandberg on trumpet.

With Words Were Coming Out Our Ears, the ambition is to create a cohesive sonic identity – to allow each piece to take its own shape while still belonging to a unified whole. The music invites deep listening, guided by intuition and presence in the moment.

Solid Gold Playaz hails from Winsconsin USA. The duo, Kenny Gino & Big Mike are veterans of the Midwest rave, techno and house scene and have released their incredible productions on Moods & Grooves, Kanzerlamt, Soulfuric Trax, Silver Network, Losonofo Records....
'Minds Beneath Atlantis' was originally released in 2003 by Jeff K's Silver Networks. Jerome (of Still Music) immediately fell for this deep house 4 tracker and that record has been steadily in Jerome's crates through the years. Jerome remembers reaching out to Kenny Gino back then and they've been friends since then. This reissue is a teaser for a larger project with Solid Gold Playaz that will be released on Still Music later this year.

It easy to see why its ranked in the 100 Greatest Dance Singles of All Time! Portuguese house producer Massivedrum is on remix duties. He has remixed dance royalty from Bob Sinclar, Axwell, Mory Kantè, Alexandra Stan, DJ Chus, Kentphonik, Yolanda B Cool among many others. He lends his house sensibilities and ear for the floor to enhance ‘The Bomb’ to new levels for an unforgettable experience. Besides the Massivedrum remix and it’s dub, also the full 14’51” minutes original version is available on this double A sided release! The Massivedrum remix is taken from the album “High Fashion Dance Music 5 – Mixed by Ben Liebrand”, which is available on LP/CD/MC and DCC.

Ora Cogans ,Formless", veröffentlicht am 25. August 2023, ist ein Album, das Schönheit, Absurdität, Humor und unerwartete Freude in den düstersten Zeiten findet. ,Formless" entstand inmitten von Trauer und pandemiebedingter Isolation. ,Ich habe viel Zeit damit verbracht, mit meinem Hund ziellos durch den Wald zu streifen", sagte Cogan. Das Ergebnis ist eine Flut von Gedanken über ungeschickte Liebe, Schmerz, innere Kämpfe und den Kampf, Wege zu finden, sich gut zu fühlen, wenn alles schlecht läuft. Das Album wurde größtenteils in Live-Takes mit der Rhythmusgruppe David Proctor und Finn Smith auf Analogband im Risque Disque Studio auf Vancouver Island aufgenommen und von Cogan und David Parry von Loving co-produziert. Mit dabei sind internationale Gaststars wie Cormac Mac Diarmada von Lankum, der ,Feel Life" auf der Saitengitarre spielt, und Y La Bamba, die ,Ways of Losing" im Duett singt. Das Album ist thematisch sehr vielfältig: ,Katie Cruel" mit seinem ätherischen Gesang, einer schlurfenden Snare und einer sitarähnlichen Gitarre ist eine tragische Ballade über eine Sexarbeiterin, die mit Soldaten der leichten Infanterie unterwegs ist. ,Cowgirl" ist ein psychedelischer, langsamer Country-Jam, der sich mit sozialer Isolation in Trauer auseinandersetzt; und ,Feel Life" ist ein Track, der durch den Wahnsinn des alltäglichen Tumults und epische, lebensverändernde Verluste tanzt. Mit einer einzigartigen Stimme, die ebenso sensationell wie klangvoll ist, sucht Ora Cogan nach neuen Realitäten im Labyrinth aus Rauch und Spiegeln unserer grausamen Gesellschaft.

"Electro Baghdad" expands on the ideas explored on the duo"s self-released 2023 debut EP "Electro Hafla, and builds upon SHIRAN"s solo work, which earned her a Songlines "Top of the World" award and widespread praise for her expressive voice and dynamic reinterpretation of traditional Yemeni music - an influence drawn from her maternal heritage. Both born to half-Yemeni, half-Iraqi parents in Israel, SHIRAN and Bakal"s music reflect their diverse heritage. Singing previously in Yemenite Arabic, she bridged generations by blending traditional melodies with contemporary sounds. Now with "Electro Baghdad", SHIRAN and Bakal pay tribute to their Iraqi roots, recontextualising traditional songs passed down through generations, using analog synths, heavy basslines, and pulsing electronic grooves.
