Das zweite Studioalbum der amerikanischen Post-Hardcore-Band – ursprünglich im Mai 2011 veröffentlicht
– erscheint nun als Neuauflage auf schwarzem Eco-Vinyl. Die Aufnahmen fanden bei Interlace Audio in
Portland, Oregon, statt. Produziert wurden die Sessions gemeinsam von Kris Crummett (der auch als
Toningenieur fungierte) und der Band. Das Album enthält die Singles „Do It Now, Remember It Later“,
„Fire“, „If You Can’t Hang“ und „A Trophy Father’s Trophy Son“.

„Move Along“, ursprünglich 2005 bei Interscope erschienen, ist das zweite Studioalbum von The AllAmerican Rejects. Es ist nun mit drei seltenen Bonustracks erhältlich: „Kiss Yourself Goodbye“, „Bite
Back“ und „Eyelash Wishes“. Mit Hits wie dem Titelsong, „Dirty Little Secret“ und „It Ends Tonight“

“The first three are innocent in a way, because we didn’t have an audience when we were making them,” Oberst says. “But from Lifted on, I was definitely aware of an audience. Lifted was well-received right away, and then everything happened with Wide Awake and Digital Ash.” Those two albums came out simultaneously. And their lead singles – “Take It Easy (Love Nothing),” from the austere, remote Digital Ash, and “Lua,” from the warm, folky Wide Awake – debuted in the top two slots on the Billboard Hot 100. “First Day of My Life,” also from Wide Awake, would later be voted the Number One love song of all time by NPR Music’s reader’s poll. Bright Eyes had officially broken through. It was a heady, exciting time, but also fraught and tense, both because of the band’s careening new fame, and because of the state of the world. When Bright Eyes made their Tonight Show debut in 2006, they chose to perform none of their shiny new hits, instead delivering a searing, harrowing rendition of their caustic anti-Bush anthem, “When The President Talks To God.” These days, Oberst is still amusing himself by messing with the extremes Bright Eyes baked into this era’s releases, extremes that reflected the polar, with-us-or-against-us, fractious feel of the times. The reworked Digital Ash tracks, originally so clean and elegant, are, on the companion EP, full of “harmonica and mandolins – folky vibes,” Oberst says. While the analogue sweetness of the Wide Awake songs have been put through a detached nihilism filter.

Zusammen mit dem starken Produktionsteam aus Brian Howes (der 2013 "Black Dog Barking" produziert hat) und dem Toningenieur Mike Fraser (der an „Breakin’ Outta Hell“ von 2016 und „No Guts. No Glory.“ von 2010 mitgearbeitet hat), machte sich die Band im Music Farm Studio im „Dschungel“ außerhalb von Byron Bay an die Arbeit. Der Komplex verfügt über das originale Neve-Mischpult aus den Alberts Studios, auf dem Bands wie AC/DC, Rose Tattoo und The Angels ihre wegweisenden frühen Alben aufgenommen haben.

Joel schrieb den Text zum mitreißenden „Alive After Death“ eines Abends im Tourbus, als er darüber nachdachte, wie die Musik dieser Legenden sie unsterblich macht. An anderer Stelle gibt es Geschichten von unterwegs („Bogota“), Songs über Trotz und Nicht-Aufgeben („Last Man Standing“, „Hell’s Got No Vacancy“, „Gutsy“) und noch mehr Sex („Sky High“). Jetzt müssen Airbourne nur noch auf die Bühne zurückkehren, in der Gewissheit, dass sie ihr bestes Album aller Zeiten mitbringen.

Ein authentischer Geschichtenerzähler der heutigen Indie-Rock-Szene ist der in Tampa geborene und in New Orleans lebende Singer/Songwriter Thomas Dollbaum, und ,Birds of Paradise" ist sein bisher kraftvollstes und dynamischstes Werk. Nach seinen von Kritikern hochgelobten Alben "Wellswood" (Big Legal Mess, 2022) und "Drive All Night EP" (Dear Life Records, 2025) ist "Birds of Paradise" ein Abschiedsbrief an verlorene Liebste und sein früheres Ich. In diesen Songs sucht Dollbaum nach Akzeptanz an vergänglichen Zwischenorten: in den Kiefernwäldern Floridas, auf Nebenstraßen, die zur 1-95 führen, wo Vögel über das Wasser fliegen. Und obwohl die Geister seiner Alt-Country-Vorgänger Townes und Molina definitiv präsent sind, tritt Dollbaum auf Birds of Paradise aus ihrem Schatten heraus - er winkt der Vergangenheit zu und klingt dabei umso mehr wie er selbst. Dieser Moment - dieses Album - ist längst überfällig. Die Aufnahmen zu Dollbaums beiden vorherigen Veröffentlichungen hatten aufgrund von Umständen, die außerhalb seiner Kontrolle lagen, viel zu lange gedauert, was ihn frustriert zurückließ. Nachdem er acht Jahre lang von zu Hause weg war, war der Ort, den er verlassen hatte, nicht mehr der Ort, an den er sich erinnerte, und die Unveränderlichkeit der Natur fühlte sich wie eine Konstante an, über die er schreiben wollte. Mit einem Gefühl der Unmittelbarkeit schrieb er ,Birds of Paradise" in drei Monaten. Er rief die Musiker an, denen er am meisten vertraute und die er am meisten bewunderte - Nick Corson, Josh Halper und Jake Lenderman - und bat sie, sich mit ihm bei Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, Mississippi, mit dem Produzenten/Toningenieur Clay Jones zu treffen. Sie lernten das Album in vier Tagen ein und nahmen es auf, wobei sie einen Blitz in einer Flasche einfingen, eine klangliche Offenbarung, auf die Dollbaums Songwriting schon immer gewartet hatte. Mit der Hilfe von Lenderman, Halper, Corson und Jones ist ,Birds of Paradise" Dollbaums hart erkämpfter Durchbruch. Lebendig und nachhallend wie Gedichte und Kurzgeschichten, die man nicht vergessen kann: Kojoten heulen, Vögel fliegen nach Süden, Kinder jagen Kaninchen durch das Zuckerrohr und Zigaretten kosten vier Dollar pro Packung. Birds of Paradise erinnert uns daran, woher wir kommen - an die Dinge in uns, die wir vergessen haben - wir brauchten nur Dollbaum, um uns das zu zeigen. So blickt man ohne Angst oder Scham zurück. "aethermead", das neue und 20. Studioalbum von Of Montreal, lässt die Sounds der frühen Jahre wieder aufleben, während es gleichzeitig die künstlerischen Grenzen ihres unverkennbaren Indie-Pop/Rock-Stils erweitert. Heaven Tonight is the third studio album by the American rock band Cheap Trick, originally released in 1978 and produced by Tom Werman. Building on the success of their earlier releases, the album further refined the band's signature blend of power pop, hard rock and melodic hooks.

The record features some of Cheap Trick's most recognizable songs, including the massively popular "Surrender" and the single "California Man", both of which helped establish the band's growing international reputation. A Platinum-certified release that enjoyed considerable international chart success, Heaven Tonight is considered one of the standout releases from Cheap Trick's classic late-1970s period and played an important role in shaping the sound that would make them one of the most successful rock acts of their era.

There is an ecstatic melancholy in Dent May’s music. The bedroom pop auteur’s songs are both bittersweet and exuberant, breaking your heart while you can’t help but sing along.

Over six albums, May has built a wildly diverse discography spanning 17 years. He has typically worked alone, assembling perfect pop gems on his laptop, playing nearly every instrument himself. But when he began preparations for his new album, May’s tried and true process suddenly felt stale.

The Big One brings together both the scrappy DIY ethos of Elephant 6 Collective and early The Magnetic Fields with May’s lifelong affinity for the great ’70s singer-songwriters like Harry Nilsson and Ram-era Paul McCartney. The songs balance a clear-eyed view of the world with a cautious optimism, looking at the everyday experiences of disappointment and heartbreak with a sense of possibility for the good that may still come. Things might seem bleak, May tells us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be thankful for our brief time here on Planet Earth.

The title track is the beating heart of the record. Over a steady drumbeat, piano, and accordion, a melancholy May sings, “The big one’s coming, the big one’s on its way,” promising disaster. But May won’t wallow in the misery: “Thank the Lord for all my friends/We can make it ’til the end/No we can’t stop now/Who knows? Tomorrow it all could turn around.” For May, hope comes in the form of others.

Bei HIGHSIGH - dem Trio aus Ro(b)//ert Lundberg (JOBS), John Dieterich (Deerhoof) und Matt Mehlan (Skeletons) - geht es genauso sehr um den Entstehungsprozess wie um das Endergebnis. Auch wenn der Bandname neu ist, wächst HIGHSIGH aus jahrelanger Freundschaft und Zusammenarbeit des Trios in anderen Konstellationen heraus - dem Zusammentreffen von Deerhoof und Skeletons in der Supergroup Congotronics International, Ro, der bei den Tour- und Aufnahmebands von Skeletons am Bass spielte, John und Matt, die beide auf verschiedenen JOBS-Alben mitwirkten und diese als Toningenieure begleiteten, sowie vielen gemeinsamen Kaffeepausen, Mahlzeiten und Wanderungen. Ihr Debütalbum ,Once Bend" präsentiert sich sowohl als entwaffnend vertraut als auch als seltsam undurchsichtiges Patchwork aus mutiertem Pop und abstrakten polyrhythmischen Klanglandschaften. In einer collageartigen Weise entstanden, brachte jedes Mitglied täuschend reichhaltige musikalische Fragmente ein, die aus anderen Projekten beiseitegelegt worden waren - fast wie kleine Fragezeichen, die die anderen Mitglieder entschlüsseln und interpretieren sollten. Diese Fragmente wurden frei und ohne konkretes Ziel unter den Mitgliedern ausgetauscht; jeder spielte damit herum und bastelte an dem, was er bekommen hatte, fügte Phrasen, Klänge und Texturen hinzu. Die musikalischen Schichten, die dabei entstanden, waren durchweg unerwartet und mitreißend. HIGHSIGH hatte nicht mit einem festen Schema begonnen, doch innerhalb jedes Songs entwickelte sich ein zusammenhängendes Patchwork - geschichtete Gitarren und gestrichener Bass stehen neben träge treibenden Synth-Klängen und knackigen, treibenden Akustik-Drums. Die Band erweiterte ihren Austauschkreis und schickte Tracks an Tim Barnes, Ben LaMar Gay, Max Jaffe, Lia Kohl, Booker Stardrum und Jon Starks, um Schlagzeug-, Cello- und Kornett-Parts einzufügen. Diese rohen Klangteppiche fanden ihre endgültige Struktur und Ordnung durch Texte, von denen einige von der Band selbst geschrieben wurden, andere von Macie Stewart (Finom) und Paige Alice Naylor. ,Textlich interessieren mich einfache Momente der Erkenntnis", sagt Matt Mehlan. ,Wie ist die Umgebung, wie ist das Gefühl?" Absurdity and punk rock go together like celery and tonic water. That is to say, they are two acquired tastes that are even better together, because they push out the squares and cater to the real freaks. That spirit has driven Chicago’s Cel Ray from the very beginning. Springing to life with their debut EP Cellular Raymond in 2023, the Chicago four-piece of vocalist Maddie Daviss, guitarist Josh Rodin, bassist Kevin Goggin, and drummer Alex Watson charted a path through twitchy, absurdist post-punk that fell somewhere between The Minneapolis Uranium Club and The B-52s. Piss Park followed later that year, and aside from the “Raw God” single in 2025, the band spent their time ripping club shows across the Midwest, playing in DIY spots, dive bars, and, one time, being hand-selected to open for Jack White.

Now, after years of waiting for a proper full-length, Cel Ray has joined the illustrious noisenicks at Exploding In Sound to release Cel Rayzer, a record that, as its name subtly implies, is sharper and more acerbic than anything Cel Ray’s done before. What makes Cel Rayzer so impactful is the inability to pin it down. Yes, it’s garage punk; yes it’s egg-punk; yes it’s post-punk, but it’s beholden to none of those things. This is what makes Cel Rayzer such a thrill; Just when you think you have the band figured out, they transform into something else so effortlessly, you’re left wondering how they even pulled it off.

Robert Palmer's career has spanned over 25 years and encompassed any number of musical styles from jazz, r&b, reggae, pop, funk to the harder dance sounds heard on Some Like It Hot' as a member of the Power Station. Palmer's career commenced in the 60s and throughout the years received a number of awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance (for Addicted To Love') and a MTV Video Music Award.

The Collected double vinyl album from Robert Palmer is a selected overview of his music, some lesser known tracks are alternated with hits like Every Kinda People', Johnny And Mary', Pride', Addicted To Love' and many more. His collaboration with musicians from different backgrounds were successful leading up to recording (the Bob Dylan written) I'll Be Your Baby Tonight' with English reggae band UB40. This single became a worldwide hit, reaching the top 10 in Holland and United Kingdom, as well as achieving solid chart positions in the USA, Germany and France.

Sadly the musical genius and true superstar Robert Palmer passed away, succumbing to a heart attack in 2003, only 54 years old.

Diese Jubiläumsausgabe der ersten EP der Band enthält drei zusätzliche Tracks: remasterte Demos von 31 Seasons in the Minor Leagues" (zuvor unter dem Titel Tonight I'm So Down" bekannt) und Lonesome Valley", aufgenommen in den Echo Park Studios in Indiana während der Hard to Love a Man"-Sessions, sowie One Thin Dime", aufgenommen während der Black Ram"-Sessions in den Sound of Music Recording Studios in Richmond, Virginia. Working-Class-Rock" ist ein Begriff, der häufig zur Beschreibung von The Magnolia Electric Co. verwendet wurde.
