2025 Repress

Label boss Demuir steps up for the 8th 12" from Purveyor Underground Limited and uses the opportunity to dedicate the music to his mother. This Grooves From Mama's Kitchen EP has already picked up some notable plays from the likes of Jimpster, Masters At Work and Kerri Chandler and is a swinging house offering with great depth and musicality. 'Beat 6 (Luv Is Complicated)' is majestic and soulful house with diva vocals and brilliant melodies, while the dub is more paired back. 'In Awe Of You' brings the jazz with its bright lead synths and soulful grooves, while closer 'In Awe Of You Ma' (Gabriel's Strings) is more loose-limbed and playful with some fine horns. .

Sucre Discos proudly presents its very first vinyl release. Straight from Valencia and
crafted with love, the label kicks things offwith a powerful debut from Otrera, the
Argentinian talent whose infectious and timeless grooves have been setting dancefloors
in motion.

The album that launched a thousand heavy-hearted singer-songwriters on their not-so-merry way, Sweet Baby James was arguably the first shot in what became the soft revolution of the early '70s. Taylor struck commercial gold with Sweet Baby James by augmenting his acoustic guitar and soothing vocals with laid-back accompaniment and penning a slew of songs that drew upon folk, soul, and rock influences. Musically mellow and lyrically restive, it put Taylor in the Top 10 and set the tone for a popular school of '70s sound.

Released in 1972 as the follow-up to the previous year's classic CTI album with Stanley Turrentine, Now is Astrud Gilberto's tenth studio album and her only recording on Perception, and wow does she make the most of the musicians available to her on this recording. Produced by Astrud herself and with all songs arranged by fellow Brazilian Eumar Deodato, the all-star line-up on Now includes Deodato on acoustic guitar, more Brazilian flavours from Airto Moreira on percussion, label vice-President and production genius Patrick Adams on Bass duties (along with Bob Cranshaw and Ron Carter), Dizzy Gillespie Quintet and Jazzberry Patch band member Mike Longo on keyboards and the mighty Billy Cobham on drums.

This album is a fiercely political and genre-defying album that blends funk, jazz, soul, and rock with sharp social commentary. McDaniels channels the turbulence of early-’70s America into surreal, poetic lyrics that critique racism, war, capitalism, and hypocrisy. The record’s raw grooves, off-kilter rhythms, and biting wit make it both musically adventurous and lyrically fearless — a cult classic that prefigured conscious soul and hip-hop’s political edge.

HUB CITY DISCO CLUB pairs up EBERHARD & MI FAVO for a limited run that showcases each artist's take on old classics. On Side A EBERHARD reworks GOODY GOODY's "IT LOOKS LIKE LOVE" now titled "LOVE AT THE DISCO". On the flip MI FAVO reassembles KWICK's "NIGHT LIFE" now titled "THE RIGHT TIME".

After the relaunch of its vinyl output, Sol Asylum continues the SA-LTD series with Jorge’s Anticipation Station EP — his first vinyl release on the label. Blending old-school breakbeat, acid, and progressive house with a refined modern edge, the EP reflects Jorge’s deep musical background and dancefloor intuition. Editia de Camera returns with its first limited vinyl release. A conceptual space designed by Alin Crihan, the label focuses on the interdependence of creative mediums, from spoken word to canvas. The first release centers on works by Sebastian Hosu, a Romanian-born, Leipzig-based artist with exhibitions around the world, from Hong Kong to Bucharest, as well as his first publication, entitled Ballad for Space Lovers. Across the four selected pieces, Crihan explores the synergy of Sebastian’s brushstrokes, combining a rhythmic sense of forward motion with ethereal soundscapes that build and collapse, push and pull, toward an inherent sense of inertia that complements each other’s color palette—both on canvas and in sound.

From Harmony: I've wanted to do a collab EP with Kenny (Kid Lib) for sometime, as he's a great producer and friend. Kenny and I wrote "Dressback" together a few years ago, but never finished anymore colabs. Recently, I found it while going through my hard drive, and we both decided it still needed to be released. So each of us wrote an additional track to finish off the EP, giving you a bit of our separate styles alongside our collab.

Perlon is more than happy to announce the new 12" by mister MATT JOHN, who is part of the Perlon family since his debut release "Joker Family Park One" (12"/ PERL49) in 2005. Only one year later the follow up "Joker Family Park Two" was born (2x12"/ PERL54). Since then, Matt had a couple of releases on Berlin based label "Bar25" and recently a 12" on "Holographic Island", his own imprint. Besides that, he tours the clubs worlwide to present his very unique sound. It's good to know, that there's more to come in 2009, watch out!

Collecting Orders For 2025 Repress

Emotional Response's 10th-anniversary celebration are brought to a superb close with Benedikt Frey. He serves up a magnificently dubbed out and psychedelic cover version of Joy Division's 'She's Love Control across four different versions. The vocal version might be the best for us - it retinas that compelling dark drum funk you expect from the band with eerie synth additions and hefty bass. The instrumental is more slow and dubbed out in a traditional sense with the Lucas Croon dub doused in endless reverb. Last of all is a dub by Frey himself that is full of open space and bass bin distorting headiness.

This is the much sought after and finally repressed Tango remix of Disturbance. A deep and dark classic, it has been on most collectors wish list for decades. Flipped with Half Stepper, this little 10" was one of the most influential and important slices of atmospheric jungle form back in the day, and now appears lovingly remastered from DAT for the first time since the early 90's

Ira James' Vessel Recordings keeps it real with another deep house record from an array of the genre's finest. The Sometimes Dream Sampler is a class affair with an A-side taken up by a superb coming together of Jason Hodges, Eddie Leader and Hector Moralez for the weight, tasty dub version of 'No Oatmilk,' then Wally Callerio brings some fresh rhythms with his synth-infused 'Cause You Know'. Jordan Strong's 'Turn The Tide' lands with a nice bit of hip-swinging funk over rolling bass and Christopher Mohn's 'Move Your Body' rocks back and forth on its heels to hypnotic effect. All in all, a nice fresh take on classic deep house.

Rocksteady Disco comes through with more tasteful and timeless edits on this fourth volume of its series which focuses on sounds from Detroit. Gino steps up on the A-side with the leggy grooves and funky bassline soft 'Funk Beyond' then 'Sunshine Ramp' pairs a classic vocal sample with a bubbly, percolating groove full of fun. On the flip, things get more textured and expressive with the busy jazz horns of DJ Righteous's '6 Minutes Of NRG' then 'Never Forget' brings heavyweight drum-first funk with warm organ chords and a busy mix of bass and melodies under the soaring vocals. Scorching stuff.

Originally from Sicily but living in Basel, electronic composer Marco Papiro confirms his eccentric and multifaceted personality. The sound articulation of his analog synthesizers flows into in an artificial hyperrealism of great thematic and expressive variation. The tracks unfold between ascending cosmic moments, more ecstatic meditative tones, symphonic planetary floods, exotic afrodelic and psycho-andean drifts. Papiro synthesises and converts echoes of acoustic wind instruments (oboe, recorders, bamboo flute), while the percussion lives on its own pulsating reality. The influence of certain folk traditions, as well as contemporary music, also suggests the more acoustic flavor of an ethereal minimalism (for voice and psaltery), making his music a continuous open sea of visions. The Vessel Recordings Group label is headed up by Ira James who has shown he has great taste when it comes to tapping into global house sounds. This new EP is another standout with Toronto talent Demuir behind the beats. He brings his signature mix of influxes to this one starting with 'Conversing With Angels' which has disco-tinged loops and soulful, feel-good vibes that liven up any party. 'Everynight' has a deep cut and funky groove that is made all the more arresting and emotive with the vocals and smart synth filters, while 'Mizz Hunni' comes as a hefty tech stomper and also as a dub.
