A fresh new chapter for the French hardcore movement, straight from the dancefloor onto wax.

Mexico’s Phantom bring raw, unrelenting energy to speed and thrash metal, and their 2022 “Hellspeed Death” demo is now hitting a wider audience with a High Roller Records re-release, complete with two bonus tracks. “Hellspeed Death” remains a true demo in spirit: raw drums, gritty vocals and guitars that cut with sharp precision. The songs are steeped in old-school influences — early Slayer, Venom, Tank, Motörhead and Voivod — but still full of the band’s own ferocious personality. Tracks like ‘Payback,’ ‘Reaper’s Bane,’ and ‘Death Crusade’ race forward with galloping, punk-tinged thrash energy, while ‘Onslaught’ and ‘Speedhammer’ deliver blackened, high-velocity assaults that leave no room for compromise. Phantom write what matches the mood of the music: fast, loud, and aggressive themes like war, revenge, horror, and dark chaos, aiming to leave a mark and revitalize the underground. At this stage, the band had already experienced moments that hinted at bigger things to come. Thus, the new edition of “Hellspeed Death” showcases a fledgling band full of energy, attitude, and DIY ethos. Their mission has been clear from the outset: to push their music as far as it can go, play relentlessly, and prepare for a debut album (“Handed to Execution”, 2023) that eventually turned quite a few heads.

As the follow-up to 2018"s Written in Blood and their first record for Hellcat Records- the Epitaph subsidiary curated by Tim Armstrong of Rancid-Detonate sees this new version of The Casualties locking into place. "We were in the studio for Written in Blood about eight months after I joined," Rodriguez says. "With this new record, we really grew together. The name RUTHLESS in itself means “without mercy.” Since the early 1980’s, lead by vocalist Sammy DeJohn, the band has stayed true to its style of metal, from the classic first EP “Metal Without Mercy” (1984) and the debut cult album “Discipline Of Steel” (1986), to the later albums “They Rise” (2015)” and “Evil Within” (2019), they’ve never wavered on the power of bands like JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT and BLACK SABBATH, always staying true to their roots.

Their latest album “The Fallen” was released in January 2024 on their new label Fireflash Records (WOLF, HOLY MOSES a.o.), followed by a European tour as support act for their fellow believers JAG PANZER, cementing their reputation as a magnificent live band. Now, RUTHLESS are proud to announce the release of their next studio album “Curse Of The Beast”. The band has created an album full of power and passion, combined with the classic 80s metal sound, ready to become a future classic and a must-have for anyone who loves traditional heavy metal like METAL CHURCH, JUDAS PRIEST, EXCITER, and others. “Curse Of The Beast” was recorded along with producer Ron Sandoval (KERRY KING a.o.), who also did the final mix and mastering. The album will be released on July 17th, 2026. “We can't wait for you all to hear it. We have a couple of surprises on this one and it's going to destroy,” reveals vocalist Sammy. Immediately afterwards, the band will play selected shows in Europe, along with MINDWARS as well as THE TROOPS OF DOOM, including the legendary “Headbangers Open Air.”

Joseph Tholl is widely known as a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. He gained international recognition as a founding member and guitarist for the speed metal band Enforcer (officially leaving in 2019). Following his time with Enforcer, he formed Black Trip (later Vojd) and is currently playing guitar for Tribulation. Following 2019’s »Devil’s Drum«, »It Might Be Art« is his second solo album (and the second for High Roller Records). It was recorded and mixed at Humbucker Studio, which he co-owns with Robert Pehrsson (who’s also on High Roller Records). On »It Might Be Art« Joseph Tholl is singing, playing guitar and most of the bass, he also handles piano and synthesizer parts. Robert Eriksson (The Hellacopters) and Jakob Ljungberg (Second Sun) share drum duties on this album. Besides that, there’s a few guest appearances by musicians such as Johannes Andersson (Tribulation), Tobias Lindkvist (Tyrann), Pia Stjärnvind (Serpent Omega), Adam Zaars (Tribulation) and Robert Pehrsson (Dundertåget, Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker). Joseph Tholl thinks that despite its broad variety »It Might Be Art« is still suitable for heavy metal fans: “I couldn’t see why not. I mean it’s not heavy metal. But I hope people will like it for what it is, a very honest and well-crafted melodic rock album.” “»It Might Be Art« is both darker and brighter than »Devil’s Drum«,” compares the Swede both his solo albums. “Musically it probably sounds a little brighter and poppy overall. But then there’s songs like ”I’m In A Darkness” or ‘The Burial’, which are very dark.” At times, influences of Sisters Of Mercy, The Cure, New Model Army and Midnight Oil can be detected on »It Might Be Art«, leading Joseph Tholl to ponder: “It’s incredibly hard to name a few bands as influences, there’s just too many. Besides those bands you mentioned, there’s a mix of grunge, heavy metal, Swedish pop/rock, AOR etc., that I mold into my own kind of rock n roll.”

Dies sind die Orte der Einsamkeit und der Romantik, die Art von erhabenen Landschaften, in denen Menschen oft allein auf der Suche nach einem verirrten Liebhaber unterwegs sind. Aber es sind auch gestaltlose Atmosphären_von Farben, Wetter und Atem: blauer und weißer Himmel, rote Rosen, sich verdunkelnde Gewitterwolken, wirbelnde Winde und Sommerdüfte, die den Reisenden schnell in die übernatürlichen Empfindungen anderer Welten eintauchen lassen. Die Zeit ist in den Liedern von Chrystabell und David Lynch ein wankelmütiges Geschöpf. Random Vinyl. In einem langen und emotional anstrengenden Jahr, in dem ich drinnen war (allein, in meinem Fall), habe ich mich dabei ertappt, über Spiegel nachzudenken. Wie man es vermeidet, an den meisten Tagen zu viel Zeit vor ihnen zu verbringen. Eine Bestandsaufnahme des echten, physischen Selbst ist harte Arbeit, Arbeit, gegen die ich nicht gänzlich etwas einzuwenden habe, die für mich aber sofort gefährlicher wurde, als ich mit ansehen musste, welchen sehr realen Tribut Zeit, moderne Ängste, Isolation und Langeweile von mir forderten. Es schien einfacher, mich in eine nicht allzu ferne glorreiche Vergangenheit zu versetzen, die Erinnerung als Mittel sowohl zur Begeisterung als auch zur Heilung zu nutzen. Aber wo wir gerade von Aufregung sprechen: Ich stolpere gerne auf eine Band zu, die keine Agenda und keinen Zweck hat und deren Sound fast zufällig entdeckt wird. So habe ich Wednesday zum ersten Mal gehört. Die Band kam zu mir und ich weiß nicht mehr, wie oder warum. Sie tauchten einfach auf, als wären wir unser ganzes Leben lang aufeinander zugegangen. I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone prägte meinen Sommer 2020, und in Klang, in Geist, in den zentralen Themen und deren Umsetzung versetzte es mich zurück in eine Zeit vor der heutigen, was ich damals gebraucht hatte. Die Vergangenheit kann sich weniger höllisch anfühlen als die Gegenwart, wenn wir manchmal nicht ganz ehrlich zu uns selbst sind. Da ist dieser Trick der Nostalgie, mit dem ich in meinem eigenen Schreiben viel Zeit verbringe und der mich in meinem eigenen Leben etwas quält. Die sehr reale Vorstellung, dass Nostalgie sowohl ein nützliches Werkzeug als auch eine Waffe ist, wenn sie nicht mit etwas gepaart ist, das einer Art rigoroser Ehrlichkeit nahekommt. Aber wenn ich noch einmal auf all diese Ideen von Nostalgie und unseren alten, kniffligen, vergangenen Ichs zurückkommen darf, die tatsächlich Teil des Backsteinhauses sind, das unser gegenwärtiges Selbst ausmacht, dann hoffe ich, dass du, lieber Hörer, an diesem Album genau den Moment am Anfang von ,The Burned Down Dairy Queen", in dem Karly singt: ,I was hiding in a room in my mind / and I made me take a look at myself." Denn wenn du, so wie ich, Spiegel gemieden hast - sowohl metaphorische als auch echte -, dann wird das Album hier zu einem Leuchtturm, der hell durch die Dunkelheit meiner ansonsten dunklen und leeren Kammern hallt. So viele dieser Songs beschäftigen sich mit der Vergangenheit auf weit weniger romantische Weise, als ich es bisher getan habe, und ich sehnte mich verzweifelt nach der Neuausrichtung, die dieses Album bot. Also, ja, die Songs sind gut. Their forward-thinking take on black metal and uncompromising approach to their work marks them out as ones to watch when they present this new material live at festivals across Europe including Hellfest, Rock In Bourlon and Resurrection festival in the months to come. With a demo, an album and an experimental EP to their name, the four-piece retreated to the studio at the end of 2025 to write the music for Nous, le venin. Recorded in January 2026 with Amaury Sauvé (Birds in row, Igorrr, Pneu) at The Apiary Studio in Laval, France, the six tracks are the very embodiment of Mourir's approach to black metal. Although they draw inspiration from many artists in the old-school black metal world, they opted to lean into a more modern sound - one that would allow the depth of their sonic choices to shine. Blending elements of sludge and post-metal to the rawness of their black metal sound, and combining this with a mix that gives space to both the low frequencies and the high-octane viscerality, Mourir have created something both distinctive and captivating. Thematically, the band turns their detached gaze towards an ever-more untethered modern society, one that is inhospitable to those seeking meaning in the cruelty and absurdity of a seemingly senseless world. Yet within these tracks exists slivers of light, of hope and of luminosity - a belief that something better is possible is woven throughout the melodic passages and most celestial, ecstatic elements of their sound. British trio The Xcerts return in Summer 2026 with their sixth album, i think i want to go home now. Recorded at Beehive Studios, the record’s direction crystallized with the track "do it to myself," marking a return to the band writing together in one room. The album emerged from an "exceedingly hellish" period involving family loss and broken relationships, mirroring the trauma behind their 2009 debut. While the title began as a childhood joke about sleepovers, it evolved into a poignant exploration of "home" as both a refuge and a heavy heart, delivered with a defiant, invigorated energy.

This album distills ten years of Berlin into a twilight drift between order and abandon. Daytime studio sketches are pulled apart at night, reshaped by shifting perspectives that swing between jazz harmony, textural experimentation, and the heavy gravity of techno basslines and analog drums. Intimately close-mic’d piano, drums, percussion, cello, and strings are constantly recontextualized—dropped into new rooms, resonances, and imagined spaces—so their meaning keeps mutating. In March 2026, Morrissey released his 14th studio album, Make-up Is A Lie. One of the highlights from that album, which was recorded with producer Joe Chiccarelli, is the richly melodic 'Notre-Dame'. On this deluxe 12" we get said single plus an unreleased orchestrated version of it, with luxurious strings recorded - appropriately enough - in Paris. To top it off, there's 'Hello Hell' and 'Happy New Tears', bonus tracks from the new album that are available on vinyl for the first time. It's encouraging to see Morrissey hitting this kind of form and keeping the heat on his latest album.

It wasn't until 2019, when Mortem's studio debut 'Ravnsvart' was released, & the magic of old undoubtedly returned with that same spirit & brutality of the original incarnation, whilst injecting new elements to form an opus of ferocious yet atmospheric horror. weibliche Stimmen dauerhaft im Genre zu etablieren. DORO war 1986 die erste Frau bei den legendären
”Monsters of Rock”-Festivals.

Black Mountain, the front-line soldiers for the Black Mountain Army, an arts collective from Vancouver, British Columbia, write, perform and record music that speaks (and sings) to this realization: that solutions are rarely simple, that the world is as complex as it is ambiguous, and that music sprinkled with an inoculating dose of madness may well be the Pied Piper that takes us all back into the primordial mountain, where our hearts can be made steady and our minds can be set free. Their debut self-titled record, like a space probe built of erector set parts and transmitting secret and arcane messages to earth by string, charts territories unknown yet remains grounded by the roots of classic rock and roll. It is easy to discern these roots: Black Sabbath, Animals-era Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin and Can. Principal songwriter Stephen McBean's vocals are a smoother, bluesier amalgam of the voices of Neil Young, Mick Jagger and perhaps a James Brown loaded on cough syrup. And when Amber Webber's voice joins Stephen's, the combination brings to mind the potency and chemistry of Richard and Linda Thompson singing together on Shoot Out The Lights, or of Meat Loaf and Ellen Foley howling together on Bat Out Of Hell. Musical comparisons aside, the Black Mountain full-length is one part protest song, one part pop-cultural commentary, and one part sick-groove-rock casserole peppered with mesmerizing ballads and intoxicating ditties. "Modern Music" is the lead-off hitter and counts its way to the imposing and riff-rife "Don't Run Our Hearts Around". Immediately thereafter, the sludge-rock masterpiece "Druganaut" establishes the fecund heart and tone of the record. Black Mountain have also just recently released a 12-inch single (on Jagjaguwar), including an extended mix of "Druganaut" on the A-side. And the band's currently sexploitative counterpart The Pink Mountaintops, a band that also pipes into the prolific well-spring of Stephen McBean's mind, released their self-titled debut record (on Jagjaguwar as well) this past summer. A video by Heather Trawick of the song "Druganaut" is included on the CD version of the Black Mountain self-titled record.

Originally conceived as a massive multi-band, multi-volume covers project, this album saw Streetlight tackle eleven songs that influenced Kalnoky’s musical development. The tracklist is a genuinely eclectic mix, ranging from Radiohead and Bad Religion to Paul Simon and a 1950s Louis Jordan number. Rather than simple recreations, the band fully transforms each song through their own lens, making the covers feel like natural extensions of their catalog. Only one volume was ever released, leaving the larger 99-song concept permanently unfinished.

The band The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies emerged in 1991 in the Nashville blues scene. With their jam-oriented style, they quickly made a name in the live circuit and attracted the attention of major labels and ended up in the Billboard charts.

In 1996, they released their second album Magnolia. It was produced by Michael Barbiero (The Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler) and features a guest appearance by Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule. The album became a fan favourite and had two singles that appeared on the US Rock chart. Now, 30 years later Magnolia remains a Southern Rock classic and will finally be available on vinyl.

Magnolia is available as a 30th anniversary edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on blue vinyl and includes an insert.
