William Kouam Djoko returns to Voyage Direct with Deflourished. After a year with a lot of high highs and some deep lows, William found himself on the dance floor listening to a set by Chicago Footwork specialists DJ Rashaad & DJ Spinn.
William experienced what religious people might call a divine moment. All the experiences, emotions and soul searching from the previous year came together in one emotional, energetic moment. William tried to recapture all of this in his studio the next day and within hours Deflourished was created. A pure form of energy shared by William for everyone to enjoy, hopefully as much as he enjoyed creating it.

B-side Behind Closed Doors completes the package; a lot more subtle and refined than it's A-side brother. A synth-heavy, down-pitched and outstretched song that builds heavily on space, both physical and mentally. On his Sophomore Voyage Direct release William Kouam Djoko truly sets out on a voyage to discover his inner-self. The result, whether it's the expressive energy of Deflourished, or the more mesmerising gloominess of Behind Closed Doors, is beautiful to say the least.

Building upon the foundations laid by his stunning debut single for the label, 'Theme Park / Off Topic', Blu Mar Ten Music is proud to
present the second single from prodigiously talented young producer Frederic Robinson's forthcoming album, 'Mixed Signals'. A

On 'Bloom' Robinson teams up with experimental electronic producer and fellow BMTM alumnus Stray, for a characteristically

Soul Print Recordings is proud to present their first ever vinyl release. 4 excellent deep tracks pressed on a slice of 12' black gold which features tracks by Fil Lavin & DJP, Petkovski & Akioki and reworks by the mighty Deep Space Orchestra and Liverpool based Andy Ash.
On the A side we find an infectious disco tainted classic deephouse groove called ''Hear Me'' by the likes of Fil Lavin & DJP. Excellent uplifting grooves which are smartly complimented by some subtle sample work. For the A2' Andy Ash is on remix duties. The rework contains a more nervous and elecronic vibe with flipped drums to a more contemporary electroish 80s vibe but still maintains the signature chord sounds of the original effort.
Label founder Petkovski opens the B side together with longtime label collaborator Akioki on their spiritual dancefloor smasher ''Think''. Again some catchy deep chords are subtly placed over balanced drums to uphold the moving vocal sample that lies on top.
The B2 brings us a Deep Space Orchestra rework of Petkovski and Akioki's ''think''.
Like you'd expect from the british duo, a more atmospheric yet staggering vibe has been created, focussing on the electronic bits of the original work a top notch DSO remix has been delivered which is perfect to close down an excellent and very balanced debut 12''.

Jose Cabrera and Fred P split the first installment of the Perception series. The Determinism EP sees JC and FP giving their slant on principles of quantum level events through sound. Raw and driving, this EP is a more than an adequate DJ tool, it's a formula for the transportation of the subconscious.

Determinism is a metaphysical philosophical position stating that for everything that happens there are conditions such that, given those conditions, nothing else could happen. "There are many determinisms, depending upon what pre-conditions are considered to be determinative of an event." Deterministic theories throughout the history of philosophy have sprung from diverse motives and considerations, some of which overlap. Some forms of determinism can be tested empirically with ideas stemming from physics and the philosophy of physics. The opposite of determinism is some kind of indeterminism (otherwise called nondeterminism).

We call them the rat pack of our beat scene. With all diversity in sound, the three producers are unified in their love for dope beats and high-proof drinks, both catered and consumed with style and expertise.

Suff Daddy, the globetrotting gin connoisseur and minimoog player with domiciles in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Sydney. He has released three solo albums and has worked with artists like Miles Bonny, Fleur Earth, Ta-ku and Elzhi. After a one year stint in Sydney, he returned to Berlin this spring.

Brenk Sinatra, the Wien-Kaisermühlen homeboy, Westcoast rap fanatic and producer of the forthcoming MC Eiht album. Last year Brenk released the critically acclaimed S3 album together with US singer Miles Bonny and has laced beats for an armada of MCs from both sides of the Atlantic.

And last but not least Dexter, the Stuttgart based trip maker and platinum producer with a day job as a pediatrician. This June Dexter released his second solo-album 'The Trip' a homage to the psychedelic rock era and one of the most innovative and genre bending hip-hop albums of 2013.

All three first met at the Hi-Hat Club, the producer series that we started a couple of years ago with the goal to push and celebrate the art of beat making. With their respective volumes 'Suff Draft' (Suff Daddy), 'The Jazz Files' (Dexter) and 'Chop Shop' (Brenk Sinatra) each of the guys put the instrumental hip-hop thing on a new and different level. None of their beats need a MC to be complete, they are full songs in their own right.

The official birth date of the Betty Ford Boys was the 2012 Beat BBQ in Cologne where Dexter, Suff and Brenk performed together for the first time. Right after the now legendary gig, that was ended by police forces Suff Daddy left for Sydney so that most the recordings for the Betty Ford Boys debut album took place in the cloud. Right after his return to Berlin, the Boys jumped on the bus and played their first club tour which finished with a gig at the Splash Festival.

On August 30th, the Betty Ford Boys release their first album 'Leaders Of The Brew School' on Melting Pot Music. The record combines the best of three worlds and has a surprisingly chilled Westcoast vibe. It's perfect summer music, it's edgy and relaxed at the same time and keeps you thirsty for more ....

*The product of a move from South Carolina to Berkeley, CA and the subsequent extended separation from loved ones, Toro Y Moi's third full-length, Anything in Return, puts Chaz Bundick right in the middle of the producer/songwriter dichotomy that his first two albums established.
*There's a pervasive sense of peace with his tendency to dabble in both sides of the modern music-making spectrum, and he sounds comfortable engaging in intuitive pop production and putting forth the impression of unmediated id.
*The producer's hand is prominent- not least in the sampled "yeah"s and "uh"s that give the album a hip-hop-indebted confidence- and many of the songs feature the 4/4 beats and deftly employed effects usually associated with house music. Tracks like "High Living" and "Day One" show a considerably Californian influence, their languid funk redolent of a West Coast temperament, and elsewhere- not least on lead single, "So Many Details"- the record plays with darker atmospheres than we're used to hearing from Toro Y Moi. Sounding quite assured in what some may call this songwriter's return to producer-hood, Anything in Return is Bundick uninhibited by issues of genre, an album that feels like the artist's essence.
*Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Chaz Bundick has been toying with various musical projects since early adolescence. Having spent his formative years playing in punk and indie rock acts, his protean Toro Y Moi project has been his vessel for further musical exploration since 2001. During his time spent studying graphic design at the University of South Carolina, Chaz became increasingly focused on his solo work, incorporating electronics and allowing a wider range of influences- French house, Brian Wilson's pop, 80s R&B, and Stones Throw hip-hop- to show up in his music. By the time he graduated in spring 2009, Chaz had refined his sound to something all his own. Music journals across the board touted his hazy recordings as the sound of the summer, and he released his debut album, Causers of This in early 2010.
*Since then, Bundick has proven himself to be not just a prolific musician, but a diverse one as well, letting each successive release broaden the scope of the Toro Y Moi oeuvre. The funky psych-pop of 2011's Underneath the Pine evinced an artist who could create similar atmospheres even without the aid of source material and drum machines. His Freaking Out EP, a handful of singles and remixes, and a retrospective box-set plot points all along the producer/songwriter spectrum in which he's worked since his debut, and Anything In Return is another exciting offering that shows he's still not ready to settle into any one genre.

Character has many forms. Musical interests too.

Mr. Mau shows his deeper side in this very diverse EP, translated in three brilliant tracks.

Inspired by many other artists, he managed combine the hardware and software into a must have EP for people who want to experience the essence of the style of life that's called techno: a broad way of interpretation and translating feelings into music.

For this special EP, Mau invited one of the most underestimated, yet well-known and very respected artists of Portugal: michaelangelo, the man behind Labrynth Records.

What many describe as a Aphex Twin like touch to it, "Black" is a piece of patience, feelings and excitement captured in an instrumental track that is strongly recommended to be played in a laid-back modus, but also can be used as a DJ tool in darker sets.
michaelangelo takes "Black" to a whole other level. Well-known for his very atmospheric dark drones inspired techno, m surprises again with his creative approach with swirling glitches and an in your face off-beat kick. A must have in your collection!

MCDE proudly presents the debut works of 22 year-old Canadian, Michael Gracioppo. Featuring a remix from Fred P (Mule / Underground Quality)..very limited edition.
The label's first 10-inch is headed by My So-Called Friends-the Montrealers deeply personal ode to an over-indulgent past lover.

The fluid drum work and violent bass line sit alongside the words of a punkesque inspired vocal sample. My So-Called Friends tells the story of a sincere and vulnerable young woman facing an inner battle between excessiveness and self-restraint. These drugs they are making me so sad I can't stop taking them.

A2 is a testament of Gracioppo's focus on maintaining a balance between songwriting and sound design.
Sailing unpredictably back and forth in tempo, A2 has been left untitled so as not to taint the piece.

Enlisted on remix duties, the always excellent Fred P flawlessly Reshapes Gracioppo's A1 into a hymn suited for the early morning comedowns.
Fred Ps vibrant pads resonate up and down in frequency and wrap the wavering vocal in warmth and comfort.

As if our recent releases hadn't already been spreading the sound of Circus Company into new and exciting places, now our very own silver-tongued enchanter JAW emerges with the first details of his own autonomous project. Somewhere in between the electronic drive of his day job in dOP and the folky, organic instrumentation of Les Fils Du Calvaire, JAW shares with us a new venture that has thrust him into the studio with Lebanese musician Kevork Keshishian. After a chance meeting on the streets of Beirut, the pair struck upon a creative buzz and so "Hazihi Laylaty" was born. Translated as "this is my night", the title references one of the most famous pieces sung by the celebrated Egyptian singer Umm Kalthoum in the early part of the twentieth century. The dusty crackles and haunting strings that begin "Hazihi Laylaty" instantly call to mind the mystery and allure of traditional Arabic music, and the track as a whole fuses this spirit with a subtle wielding of modern electronics to create a thoroughly moody piece of pop-noir. Paying full respect to the complexity and consideration of the original version, both The Sorry Entertainers and Soul Clap embark upon unusual approaches for their remixes, managing to enhance the electronic elements in the track through more prominent production without losing the core ambience of Jaw and Keshishian's creation. JAW has been quietly working on a solo project for many years whilst also engaged with the relentless demand of his life in dOP, and now finally the time has come for people to hear the first snapshot of this venture. Man of the moment Alan Fitzpatrick teams up with Jon Gurd to bring us one of his finest tune to date. Quartz headquarter decided to call Rotterdam hero ROD aka Benny Rodriguez to remix the tune and the man gave us two essential versions of From Here to There. If it wasn't enough Paul Ritch - the label boss - complete the package with his own interpretation of the track.

For the a side of the second part of the vinyl series Mr Joseph & PennyGiles provide us with a soulful roller called 'Give you my heart'. Smooth vibes, heavy delayed trumpet samples and organ cuts make this one a real beauty!

On the flip Command Strange takes things up a notch with 'Time Shift'. Straight up club material right here! A deep bassline, energetic stabs and a catchy lead will definitely turn some heads proving his tunes are an excellent addition to every record bag.

In the great tradition of Count Ossie, four new grounation furies — hypnotic, thunderous, urgent, mystical — with dubwise repeta, funde and bass drums embedding the Light Of Saba veteran's gorgeous trombone classicism.
The opener is a rocking kumina rhythm, with ring-the-alarm metal percussion and exhortatory brass; Free The People swirls some apocalyptic reasoning into the foggy, thumping mix. Universe In Crisis is another emergency call, chuffing headlong down the grooves... before the beautiful, anthemic Chant takes a step back from the fire, closing with a sense of thankful, spiritual reconciliation, the expert drumming and lyrical bone-work in full effect.

The EP starts with Mikael Jonasson's, 'Benefit of the Doubt' which uses dark, melodic bleeps to create tension before the epic chord stabs kick in that resonate over the throbbing bass line. Adam Beyer steps up with the second track 'Never Really Left Home' that uses a rhythmic synth-line to create a dark and moody piece of music. Ida Engberg then delivers her unique style of techno using old rave sounds and a huge hoover style synth to create a driving techno track that will keep any dancefloor moving. The Manic Brother's supply another big track named 'Different Directions' using reverberated stabs to create an atmospheric, but still functional track with lots of rhythmic percussion thrown in. Patrick Siech then steps up with the next track, 'Kill Room' that also uses atmospheric percussion and stabs to build into a funky drum groove. Joel Mull presents the sixth track on the compilation; 'Rimson' that uses hypnotic drums to captures the listener's attention to lead into a floaty synth and vocal line before the track introduces a pulsating bass line. 'Second Coming' is the next offering with Petter B using recurrent percussion to full effect to create a purposeful, heavy hitting techno track. The final track by Cari Lekebusch called 'Xylopeggiator', conveys a dark, pounding 5 AM rhythm that uses vocal samples and a melodic synth to create a hypnotic drum pattern.

Alex Font is a serious guy who knows that now is his time. A multi-instrumentalist, as well as a producer and DJ, he can sometimes be seen on stage in trademark shirt and bow tie. He declares himself a lover of vinyl and, above all, what he calls real house. I think that says it all.

'NOW IS MY TIME' is the fifth release on the Oblack label and is available in black vinyl and digital. It is undeniable proof that Alex Font has arrived and is now a permanent force on the House scene, mainly in soul and dance, but who also knows how to reinvent his sound using new tech. Always with an eye on the future of sound innovation, he still manages to keep hold of his roots and respect his great influences. Well, nothing less would do. On this EP you can tell that Alex Font (remember, this is one serious guy) knows what he has in his hands and spinning on his turntable. His knowledge of musical composition, harmony and engineering skills jump out at you as soon as the first beat of 'Now is my time' hits the speakers: darkness, sophistication, soul and groove. There's a perfect command of tempo, of where, when and how. You pick up on the instrumental skills which allow him to do what he wants, when he wants. That's what's so great about this: you're struck by the ease of how such perfect technique and astoundingly good taste come together. Digitally analogical (or is it the other way round), this is the deeply profound vs. the dancefloor. It fascinates and liberates, carrying you off through different dimensions before breaking out of itself, with no need for artificial fanfares as it's so perfectly defined by Chicagoan pianos, hi-hats, funkoid vocals, etc. He's simply extraordinary: Alex Font signed by Oblack 005.

The remix by Martinez gives this track a technical edge and club splendor. Leaving out the more classic elements of house that are present in the original, the Swedish producer slows things down so that it doesn't lose any of its elegance, but at the same time the track gains punch on the dancefloor, and there's no doubt that it works. As cool as it is effective at inciting dance and everything else that comes with gyrating your pelvis in the early hours of the morning.

Finally, the Argentinian Shall Ocin plays the scoundrel here by adding diverse electronic elements that take the track into a new dimension. By giving the vocal more prominence, here it takes centre stage, and over a well-layered tech-house base, it makes the tremendous savoir faire of the original literally surf, while at the same time respecting and completing it.

If geography has an impact on music, then Vienna has coloured Tosca's music at every turn. Over the course of a career spanning two decades, the Austrian capital has inspired Richard Dorfmeister (of Kruder & Dorfmeister fame) and Rupert Huber to make electronic mood pieces coloured with Mitteleuropean melancholy.It's a bittersweet juxtaposition that is much in evidence on the pair's new album, 'Odeon'. It opens with the hazy strings of 'Zur Guten', which ebbs into the oozing keys and pizzicato steel string guitars of 'What If', which features a smokey vocal from Sarah Carlier. Lead single 'Jayjay' is a haunted combination of sombre piano chords, rolling drums and weird, otherworldly vocals from JJ Jones. It's the pivotal track on a record that sees Tosca tapping into gothic atmospheres. It's darker than their previous five albums, more downbeat, at times ambient. It's unlike anything else out there at the moment.Is there a reason for this sombre tone Nothing specific. "Obviously our music is influenced by our experiences of life - it couldn't be any other way - so in some senses it's a kind of diary, but there weren't any single incidents that caused the record to be that little bit darker," says Dorfmeister. If anything, the exact opposite is true: life has been good. "Over the last year I think we've both learnt to be more generous and to understand our own limitations and other people's" says Huber. A case of musical yin and personal yang, then.The album's name, meanwhile, comes from the venue in Vienna where Tosca debuted the new material in October. The performance went so well they decided it would make a fortuitous name - the music/place interface in action once again. The performance features as a bonus disc on the deluxe version of the album, which will be available exclusively via !K7's webstore. More than anything, 'Odeon' is the sound of a band at the top of their game. A good time for them to release a career retrospective then. Dorfmeister reflects on the band's history. "It sounds like a cliche, but we've never really thought about other people's music when we're writing our own," he says. "We try and create our own sound. We really have always been like that. And I think we've developed a trademark sound because of that." They certainly have. It's been called the "Vienna sound". And, in updated form, it still sounds like nothing else.

Inspired by the vocal histrionics of strobe lit sirens such as Loleatta Holloway and Jocelyn Brown, Diva calls on the protean roots of basement club music. Lead track 'Paris Stabbing' is a stunning excursion into motor city madness, abstracted disco vocals clash with a broken digi-arpeggio and hooverish bass break down, whilst the flip side 'But I've Never' imposes a detuned synth siren over an industrial bass sequence and sp1200 piano stabs to eerie effect. Also included is the 'Paris Stabbing (Beats)' which pares down the original, adding detuned melodic percussion into a minimalist after hours tool.

Tablon is a new France based independent record label. Supporting artists with a characteristic style, tablon releases music by passion, developing its own vision of today's and tomorrow's dance music.
After a first EP by Arnaud linked in a certain way to Greece, tablon 002 will come from Istanbul. Far from us the idea to make a worldwide music label or refer to any old war between two countries. It just happened like that. Sarp makes amazing music and we are proud to present his new EP. With the homespun warmth of his album still keeping us toasty as the temperature drops in the Northern hemisphere, Dave Aju offers up two choice cuts from Heirlooms to receive surgical treatment at the hands of dear friends and respected practitioners in our beloved corner of electronic music. The divine boogie-fuelled electro pop of 'Caller#7' stood out as one of the most flamboyant and earsnagging tracks on the album, so who better to entrust the remix to than Seth Troxler and Subb-an Seth of course is a long-time partner of Circus Company, stretching back to 2008 when he first recorded an EP for us with Patrick Russell. Subb-an may be a new cat to us, but there's no denying the impact he has made with his releases for some of the strongest tech house labels around. In the hands of this formidable duo, 'Caller#7' gets sharpened and honed into a peak-time floor-filler. The vocals from Dave and dOP's Jaw and that inimitable bassline remain intact, with the focus switched to boosting the rhythms that propel this party-starter while a disgruntled caller drops in on Radio KAJU to speak her mind like a true soul sister should. On the flipside, we take great pleasure in inviting the maverick Swede Axel Boman to work his magic on 'Away Away'. After exploding onto the scene in a flurry of hedonistic imagination and cheeky originality, Axel has charmed all that come before him with his releases and his Studio Barnhus label. He treats us to a glorious, soaring version of Dave's track that shuns shortening days and worsening weather, and instead places you at the top of a mountain as the sun rises in a cloudless sky, gently building but never peaking in a truly life-affirming concoction of house music for the heart.

The time has come. The funky nerd and knob-handler Erdbeerschnitzel alias Tim Keiling is releasing his first physical album on Mirau. The young producer, who has moved from his hometown of Mittelfischbach to Bonn, tapped into the lode of versatility early on, and has been extracting one surprise after another ever since. After single-handedly releasing a first digital album that was obviously bursting with ideas ('Pathetik Party', 2009), Erdbeerschnitzel rapidly made himself a name with first-class single releases in the following years on 3rd Strike Records, 4 Lux and Mirau - a name not easily forgotten. The release of the much-celebrated single 'To an End' on Mirau made clear that this was but the beginning of a work together. In the wake of anticipation created by the digital single 'Through the Night', the album 'Tender Leaf' is now available on beautifully packed double vinyl. 'Tender Leaf' is a collection of 12 wonderful tracks, splashing at the edges with Erdbeerschnitzel's signature deep, driving vibe throughout the entire album, pulling us into a pool of swinging, iridescent oomph. Each elaborate audio-bouquet is full of spirit. Sometimes weirdly romantic and introverted, then breaking out into raucous assemblage, flaunting sonar reverb. Keiling's production makes these gems sound like an essence of all the music around us today, which calls out to us in echoing vocal traces. In 'The Mattress Excursions', guest singer 'The Drifter' steers his soulful voice through the escalating arrangement and broken beats as we remember from early Jamie Lidell tracks. Erdbeerschnitzel frequently gives things a humorous turn, flashing us winks from the midst of the fray. His characteristic beat programming, clever and exulting, makes otherwise bland patterns swing into pulsating vivacity; picking up on contemporary styles and aesthetics, he re-animates sounds within his own parameters. Magnus International's releases are few and far between. With his solo debut 12"out in 2006 and one in 2009 we can easily classify him as our least prolific(lazy) family member. However, Magnus has that rare gift for melody and drama... the so called Magnus factor. So whenever he decides to lay his knowledge upon you, lend him an ear. Debuting on Full Pupp as part of "Kalle, Magnus & Daniel" together with Kalle Risan SandÂs and Blackbelt Andersen, Magnus helped lay the foundations to what we all know as nu disco/space disco/cosmic disco/scando disco etc.(insert your own silly take on it here).

Komatic and Command Strange return to the Fokuz imprint each taking a side on this 12inch.

'When You Come Home' by Komatic has his signature sound over it: pounding but rolling drums, great atmosphere and a spacey vocal. On the flip Command Strange takes over with a track called 'Forgive', expect a deep bassline, sample work like only he can do it, everberating lyrics and crisp, punching breaks.

Perc Trax is proud to unveil the 2nd 12' to be taken from Forward Strategy Group's debut album 'Labour Division'. Since its release at the end of May the album has received across the board DJ support and press coverage with a 4/5 review from Resident Advisor and even a full page in the Guardian about FSG and Perc Trax. The album has also had launch parties in Amsterdam and London and has seen the FSG guy's crossover outside of techno to be featured in the wider music press including The Quietus and Stool Pigeon.

This 2nd 12' rounds up some of the most popular tracks from the album giving them the vinyl release they truly deserve. First up is the most popular club track from the album; 'Elegant Mistakes' where raw industrial sounds meet with broken beats that hint back at classic UK hardcore. Completing the a-side is album opener 'Ident', one of the LP's most melodic moments and proof, if it was ever needed of Patrick and Al's wide ranging influences and production skills.

The b-side opens with 'Nihil Novi', an album favourite that appeared on the first Labour Division 12' as remixed by Factory Floor. Now the original mix appears on vinyl and it's echoing, slow-morphing stabs sound as cutting as ever. A DJ favourite since it was initially promo'd, it now sounds even better on vinyl. Closing the EP is a re-edit (sarcastically called a 'radio mix') of 'Metal Image', where a world of atmospherics opens up on top of a slow droning kick drum. A perfect set-opener or mid-set Dj tool it is demonstrates the variety that is on show across 'Labour Division' and is one of many reasons for the albums excellent reception.

The man behind this piece of fine wax is called Washerman. This 3-Track release is designed for clubs and outdoor jams where people don't necessarily need a scorching energy span to enjoy the music. With beautiful rhode sounds and touching vocal cuts this record should be in anyone's record collection. Raw but beautiful

Kike Pravda presents his first release on his own label called 'Senoid Recordings', including a remix of Ben Sims. The vinyl starts with the track 'Exalt' .It includes a Roland 909 very processed, aggressive and distorted sound until the end, accompanied by a sequence of a dark bassline and dynamic,which Kike Pravda takes it to the limit of its frequencies in constant evolution.A track that makes it the letter of introduction of Senoid. In B side, Ben Sims remix 'Scared' to the most pure style of Mr Ben. Hi-hats unstoppable, unmistakable grooves, giving back to the sounds of the original, essential for its most faithful followers. Closes the record the original version of 'Scared', a continuous arpeggio with an accompaniment of a 909 ride pure, brilliant, subtle.Scared evolves from beginning to end, with touches of dark, analogic, atmospheres and glitches, which turns it into a space trip.

Amplified cointinues their quest to find new and interesting talents out there. Disco In Distress pt. 3 again is an amazing collection of slow house and disco. Quell comes with a slow house joint that even has some Techno elements: rough beats and tough stab and synth work. S3A (Sampling as an Art) has had an excellent release called Continuation early 2012 and serves you with another killer discofied house tune Holdin' On here. Russian newcomer Kirill delivers the breathtaking house cut Feel The Broken Line. Last but not least Sellouts does what he does best: slow-mo-spaced-out-disco in She Knows. Tip!

Special tracks have a special story behind them. And this one certainly does. After Mario & Vidis recorded a couple of tracks with Ernesto for their debut album Changed they invited him to perform in their home country. During his short stay in Lithuania Ernesto performed two times and both times closed his set with a track called Care. It was kind of a mash-up - Swedish singer & songwriter was using lyrics of his old song to sing over Metro Area's classic Caught Up to a big effect - leaving the packed dance floors to a sing along to lyrical hook of 'sisters and brothers, smokers and lovers, care for me' every time. Big fan of Metro Area's sound Vidis offered him to do a reversion of this mash-up using Caught Up as a reference and inspiration. The vocals were re-recorded, new arrangement was done, and the song was tested in the clubs as well as live on stage. So here it is - another big tune from the three to sing and dance along

i met kirill from spdsc last year at a festival in bucharest called "poolside" and instantly became friends. to be honest i wasnt really aware of his productions at that time but in the end who do i know anyway so one of the first things while keeping in touch was him sending me the demo of "i need it" which he produced with his friend lipelis. instantly i fell in love with this tune and asked if its available to sign for teardrop. it was. and here we go, a few months later with remixes by myself lovebirds and mr iron curtis under his new moniker leaves from the western hemisphere and arsenii and vougal from the eastern!

Laurel Halo's first full album following well-received EPs on Hippos in Tanks and Liberation Technologies (the latter under her King Felix alias), plus a cassette-only ambient record on NNA Tapes, it's also her most vocal-led affair since her debut EP - eschewing the techno flyovers of Hour Logic for a slower, squishier brand of synth-pop that features often untreated, raw vocals.
Quarantine's striking artwork is taken from a piece by Tokyo artist Makoto Aida called Harakiri Schoolgirls 2002.

On the final part of the Fokuz 050 series we have someone who could be described as a veteran in the Fokuz camp. Brother brings the quality as expected with a beatifull piece of music called 'Manna'. It's all about the subtle jazzy vibes on this one. Although Brother isn't the artist getting the most exposure, he proves again that he is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
'This Morning' is the highly anticipated release by dynamic duo 'Hybrid Minds' who already had support from some of the biggest names in the scene. Rolling drums, sensuous chords and a groovy bassline! The track also features Canadian producer/vocalist 'Grimm' adding his vocal flavour to this piece of topnotch production.

Australian producer 'Well Being' returns to the Fokuz imprint with that sort of track we would place in the 'halftime' segment nowdays. 'There's A Place' contains a soothing trumpet, spaced-out strings and delayed piano riffs all blending together perfectly. Souful vibes on this one!
On the flip Technicolour and Komatic deliver a track called 'Ever After'. It seems this duo has the Midas touch, they can simply do no wrong! A moody vocal, deep bassline and tight cuts. The kind of track track that makes you reflect on whats important.

So this very special Various Artists EP comes to you as the follower of the reminded release as a double A Side EP, called the VARIOUS ARTIST EP TWO PT. 2!.

Fantastic new LP on Pin Cushion Records featuring eight superb tracks of the finest funky rock, folk and soul. The A side kicks off with the awesome funky monster 'Save Me', an absolute dancefloor bomb with slamming b-line from Nanette Workman's self titled 1976 LP. Next up is the super funky 'Lucky Lost Sin', a wicked female vocal funk-folk-jazz cut that also works well in the clubs, followed the great uplifting vibe of Rory Block's 'Lovin' Of Your Life'. Closing this side we have the wonderfully laid-back 'Santa Cruz Mountains' taken from Eddie Callahan's hugely in-demand and impossible to find 'False Ego' LP. The flip side features the excellent 'Spill The Wine', a great Rhodes-driven workout from Eric Burden's WAR, followed by David Amram's 'Message To The Politicians of the World', a killer spoken word track over a sweet melody. Next up is Friends Of Distinction's 'Light My Fire', an amazing funky cover of the Doors' classic taken from their rare 1969 Highly Distinct LP and last but not least a cool breezy summer groover from Bay Area band Kingfish whose lineup included the legendary Bob Weir, founder member of The Grateful Dead. A superb selection of tracks, not to be missed.

Edward O’Sullivan Lee “but my friends call me Bunny or Striker Lee” was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 23rd August 1941. He started in the music business plugging records for Duke Reid at Treasure Isle, Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and Leslie Kong at Beverley’s. “I used to do plugging… when I say plugging I used to get their records played on ‘Teenage Dance Party’ and we’d dance so if you had a record to plug you’d put it on and dance to it and show the latest moves”.
