Regal launches Backspin Records with a first seismic release by Cristian Varela. With the Supraconscience EP, Varela delivers a masterclass in groove-driven intensity, further defining Backspin's mission to resurrect and reimagine the pulse of early2000s techno.



The EP plays like a coded message from another dimension. The voyage of Captain Barbatus D. Wreckords across The New World continues with an episode on Nexus Island, where the pirates reveal the secrets of The World Government yet again!

For the third chapter of the Barbatus series, the odyssey is musically delivered by Pontiff Ordric, a.k.a. Mayank Saraiya. It is a great pleasure, to present one of the many monikers of a talented Indo-Ukrainian artist, and fellow pirate of the Barbatus ship, who also is behind the mix/master helm of the Barbatus label.

The engineer-DJ-producer tells his tale through a blend of syncopated, electro inspired, beats and proto-trance synths that are riddled with tributes to the sound of the 80's.

FABRICLIVE’s new incarnation as an artist-focussed label continues, with a stunning two-track 12” by the Hong Kong-born, Netherlands-based rising star Kiana Li, aka gyrofield.

Rooted in drum & bass but distinctly the sound of now, this single sparkles with freshness, and stands-out with an exquisite verve for detail and craft. Ronny Pries is finally back, releasing his new EP ‘Zero Four Zero‘ on Abstract Rhythm. He contributes four brilliant detroitish influenced techno and electro tracks, perfect for creating some late night heat on the worldwide dancefloors.
As those tracks mean a lot to Ronny, especially ‘This ain’t Jazz‘, he felt like they belonged to be released the oldfashioned way, on 12‘‘. Ronny has been releasing electronic music since the 90’s. Zero Four Zero is his first EP after a long release-absent time where he was focussing on several other music and non-music related projects. ‘‘So, as much as this release marks the beginning of something, as much does it conlcude something. Mutual Rytm welcome back Swiss DJ/producer Chlär for a bustling, high-octane return as he unveils his latest six-track EP, 'Intrinsic Drive'.

Swiss artist and mastering engineer Chlär's last outing on Mutual Rytm, his 'Optimized Grooves' EP, was a standout success that made an impact far and wide across the techno realm. It was another big step for the fast-rising producer, who is also a dexterous DJ that plays across three and even four decks in the club. A craftsman of sounds, his take on techno is full throttle and has come on labels like Iceland's NIX and Stranger's Self Reflektion imprint. Always looking to improve his sounds, he hits a perfect sweet spot with a fresh and visionary approach across six fresh productions with his 'Intrinsic Drive' EP, again showcasing exemplary creative progression in his ever-impressing production skills.

Up first is 'Dopamine Rush', a quickened techno pumper with synths peeling off the straight-ahead drums and locking you into a state of hypnosis. The title track 'Intrinsic Drive' is a tightly woven mix of drums, hits and bass that never lets up, while the supple rhythm is overlaid with alien sound designs to up the intensity. 'For Marco' takes a heavier path with darkened and more weighty kick drums under eerie synth loops. There is a real swing in the drums of 'Steady Pace' as the crisp hits and vocal fragments all up the ante, before 'Greedy Man' delivers a tough panel beater with skewed synths and an industrial undertone. Digital bonus 'May I Dance?' rounds things out with raw textures and unhinged loops that take you to the heart of a strobe-lit dance floor, shaping up another
mighty fine statement of intent from the ever more vital Swiss native.

Credit 00 is still doing his thing with PUT THE FUNK BACK IN 2 TECHNO, saving you from the horrors of today's life with a bunch of stirring tracks to dance against oppression. On his seventh EP for Uncanny Valley the Leipzig based funkster finds solace in his craft, doing what he does best. And that is to make dance music that is both undeniably catchy and blessed with an ever-surprising range of ideas and styles. What all the tracks have in common is that they have been written by someone who is deeply committed to the roots of dance music. On top of that, he has the enviable ability to find titles that already give you a hunch of sound and message of the tracks, even before you listen to them. Be it the title track with its wild Detroit rhythms and piano sound bits or the closer YOU NEED 2 CHILL, a still highly danceable ode to 90s chill out floors. While the stomping BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT gets use of Credit 00's own voice, the chords heavy CHURCH FOR THE RENEGADES is a perfect example of inventive use of vocal samples. The indominable Russell Haswell returns! He's a restlessly forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary artist, performer and curator who calls Diagonal Records his home. His past collaborators include Aphex Twin, Gescom, Florian Hecker and Merzbrow. "DeepTime" is Russell's latest LP for the label following on from 2023's 'Reality Therapy'. Whilst "Reality Therapy" was an introverted affair, "DeepTime" is brimming with confidence and aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Russell's club friendly turns are resolutelyprogressivist. Whilst being informed by the works of Claude Young and Jeff Mills, his music feels like it was made in another dimension altogether. Title track, "DeepTime", "Unconformity" and "Atropine" all prove the point. It's techno but it's much more besides.

ISA003 levels off our continued journey of navigating through quality music. ‘Demure’ by PHEEK seamlessly glides between paradigms of ambient soundscapes and minimal techno while MIHAI POPOVICIU hits in true tech fashion with a stellar remix.

AISSA RECORDS is a Montreal boutique vinyl sub-label of SULEIMAN RECORDS. Founded by DJ/producer Darem Aissa, the name of the imprint pays homage to Syrian poet Suleiman Al-Aissa, one of the most prominent contemporary Arab poets.

BRVTAL has taken a new direction in its sonic journey, moving beyond its early sound to embrace the raw mystique of proper techno. Gifted Yorkshire producer Sikka delivers an outstanding 6-track selection of cuts taken from his forthcoming “Junglist Code” LP on New York’s Liondub International label. Sikka’s exciting take on 90’s Jungle is unmatched in its authenticity, musicality, drum sequencing, and soulful sample selection. These are throwback Jungle gems crafted with brilliant modern production values and techniques. Dedicated to the old school, but made for the new, these tracks maintain the sound and feel of the classic Jungle music that we came to know and love, but they are tastefully updated for 2023 by one of the most powerful, versatile and under-rated producers in the UK right now.

After his last Ep Paralyzed, Sciahri returns to Sublunar with his new project Pareidolia. Pareidolia is a project that blends the most groovy and immediate techno with the most futuristic and sophisticated, creating a mix of bangers that reflect the artist's current vision.

In the first part we move from the classic and effective sounds of 'Vortex' to the more direct and powerful sounds of 'Roven', then to the B-side with the floor-heavy track 'Infatuation' and finally to the dark and tribal sounds of 'Glow', which closes the EP.

Italian producer Giuseppe Scaccia aka D-leria, affiliated with labels such as Avian, Semantica and Non Series, debuts on
Sublunar with his 'Contrasto' ep.

The ep showcases Scaccia's ability to move between the most classic techno to the most futuristic, while maintaining his own well-defined and recognisable identity.

The record opens with the dirty groove and hypnotic vocals of 'Carioca', before moving on to the more classic and edgy sound of 'Disorder', a secret weapon produced in 2016 and played in every set by the artist.

This is followed by the tribal, resonant sound of 'Pangea' on the B-side, and the fast-paced, sound design laden 'Rabid'.

MixCult Records unveils TAMIZDAT, which in Russian TAM means “there” (as a reference of an aboard, western location), and IZDAT means “to publish”. It was the name for banned books and magazines published "there", that is, abroad.

Z.I.P.P.O returns to SK11 with his second EP 'Eleven', a collection of four tracks that defy formula while remaining anchored to the roots of techno. Boldly unconventional yet highly functional, each piece serves as a passage: a shift in tempo, tone, or texture, shaped by a deeply personal sonic vision. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, the record encourages fluid movement - between genres, emotional states, and sonic architectures. Eleven is a finely tuned exercise in tension, groove, and release a thoughtful and uncompromising work from one of Italy's most singular voices.

The EP kicks off with the title track "Eleven", which carries the weight of a timeless hymn - balancing melancholy and release through an impactful lead motif, anchored by a heavy, hypnotic kick. "Hypernova" dives into submerged territory, where swinging percussions, chopped vocals, and aquatic atmospheres unfold with eerie precision on its 909 workout. On the B side, "Kaus" moves in a state of continuous evolution: elegant and deep, driven by tribal rhythms and swelling chords that glide into trance-like dimensions. "Replication" closes the cycle with relentless pressure: twisted sound design, full-bodied groove, and a sense of motion that refuses to resolve.

As a producer, composer, and master of analog live performances, he bridges the worlds of techno, electro, and cinematic scores. Winner of the César Award for Best Original Score for Robin Campillo’s "120 Beats Per Minute", his talent transcends the dancefloor, captivating audiences in both clubs and cinemas. Rebotini is also a master of the remix, collaborating with legendary acts like Depeche Mode, Rammstein, Nitzer Ebb, and Bloc Party amongst others, and delivering a standout reinterpretation of Bronski Beat’s "Smalltown Boy" for the "120 Beats Per Minute" soundtrack. His remix work blends respect for the originals with his own creative power, placing him among the most revered names in electronic music.

The EP opens with “Snowy Sunday Smile”, a track that combines melodic depth with techno power, showcasing Rebotini's mastery of analog live performance in a compelling and emotional way. “Abnegation Electronique” follows with a subtle homage to Drexciya’s universe, fusing deep basslines and hypnotic layers to create a pure and immersive electro experience. On the B-side, “December in G” delivers a live improvisation featuring SH101 and TB303, seamlessly shifting between G minor and G major chords, evoking life’s contrasts between shadow and light. Closing the EP, “Echo Park’s Bells” conjures the enigmatic magic of Los Angeles with dreamy bells and ethereal textures that capture the city’s endless nights. Staying true to his raw, analog aesthetic, Rebotini’s music embodies timelessness and cutting-edge innovation. "Winter Sequences" captures this duality perfectly, blending raw energy with melodic sophistication.
