Die vierte Ausgabe der Modeselektion war längst überfällig und fällt deshalb extra energisch aus, dafür sorgen viele große Namen der internationalen Clubszene und eine ganze Reihe aufstrebender Künstler: Actress, Rødhâd, Peder Mannerfelt, rRoxymore, Sarah Farina und all die anderen setzen zwischen roughem und clever gebautem Techno, kosmischen Breakbeats und Dub- und-Bass-Eskapaden die unterschiedlichsten Akzente und erzeugen trotzdem einen starken, stringenten Vibe. Die als Doppel-CD und vierteilige 12"-Serie erhältliche Compilation enthält 17 Tracks von Künstlern, die zur aktuellen Speerspitze in Sachen anspruchsvoller Dance Music zählen - so sehen es zumindest Modeselektor, aber wann hat uns ihr Gespür je enttäuscht Wie jede Modeselektion ist die vierte Ausgabe kein schnödes Mixtape: Alle Künstler wurden eigens um passende, unveröffentlichte Musik gebeten, und das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen. "Wir sind stolz und fühlen uns geehrt, dass wir die Compilation genau so zusammenstellen konnten", schwärmen die Selektoren. "Volume 04 ist wahrscheinlich die funktionalste und eingängigste Modeselektion, die wir bis dato gemacht haben."

The DJ and producer from Naples, who’s been a pivotal figure of the Italian Electronic music scene since a very young age, is not new to the Tronic catalogues with his newest moniker but this one is surely his most complete, heartfelt and anticipated work to date. Having been in the scene for more than 25 years allowed Franky B to experiment, improving his creative techniques with ninja-like dedication and always testing himself along the rapids of music production, DJing and scratching. Now he’s ready to emerge once again from the shadows with his new LP: a groundbreaking, powerful, cutting-edge work we’re all extremely proud to finally release and, most importantly, his most profound sonic confession so far. With ‘Breaks From The V’ (the title of which is a tribute to his homeland, where ‘V’ stands for Vesuvius), Artizhan narrates his life through his music and embodies the best version of himself displaying, through ten stunning tracks, great versatility as a producer, ranging from D&B and Jungle to abrasive beats and some masterly composed and very personal paraphrase of IDM. The LP is a massive showdown by the artist himself and his label, both united towards a single objective: telling Artizhan’s incredible story as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Second release of the year already from the party music people of Abstrack. This time, it’s Brussels based artist Strapontin whose original production is on the menu, with re interpretation from several gifted companions. The multitude here is no excuse for genericity or easy recipes, rather a fertile playground for toying around with a wide range of vibes and moods.

Matches is a poetic, sensual spoken-word piece. The song feels like a flower about to blossom, though with plenty of hybrid DNA in it. In the end it leaves the way wide open for further emotions to get through. And they do.

Sasnal Park is the emotion of wander : looking for something forever, but for what? The drums make you believe that you found it but they turn out to be a mirage, and so does every tangible element of the track. A beautiful journey in the end even if you don’t know where you’ve been.

Family Diner … no ambiguity this time : a mystical roller as dark as it is trippy. Or maybe more trippy. Either way, not sure you can resist dancing to this one played out loud. Lose yourself to screaming halfway through, but only to fall back well rooted in those dancing feet afterwards.

On the flip, remixers put it where they’re expected to : A Strange Wedding takes the wandering “Sasnal Park” on the Edge of trancy club music, closer to the roots of Abstrack parties.

Feon turns the belter “Family Diner” into a road roller : sirens and massive subs engage into a memorable fist fight.

And home man Vidock choses the very dreamlike “Matches”, adding quite a touch of dancefloor but not removing one inch of dream.

Greetings and welcome from Axces. We're a small local Copenhagen community of friends and curious souls. This is our very first record. Alfredo92 and Kasper Marrot run the label, and they've produced two tracks with help from our good friends Carl Emil and Lauge.

The record was created in 2017 at the professional facilities we've come to know as Nordvest Auto. On both tracks, you'll hear a lot of drums, some bass, effects, samples, vocals and sounds from beyond, we don't know how to describe. They've been tested on various sound systems during the past year, and we can ensure you that a flat EQ and max volume will suit the tracks almost anywhere.

We really hope you enjoy our effort. If you should ever find yourself in Copenhagen Axces will provide counselling and guidance at own risk.
