Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Mia Moretti heads to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with ‘Safe With Me’, a disco-house celebration featuring New Orleans soul legend Irma Thomas, the Grammy-winning Soul Queen of New Orleans. Co-produced by award-winning producer Mark “Blakkat” Bell, a longtime figure in house and electronic music whose work spans from M People to King Britt, the release marks a full-circle moment for Moretti, who draws on her years of crate digging, gospel house expertise, and deep love for vocal-driven grooves.

‘Safe With Me’ pairs Moretti’s richly textured production with Thomas’ commanding vocal presence, creating a track that balances heartfelt emotion with dancefloor energy. Similar to Moretti's DJ sets, the track blends gospel, disco, and house sensibilities with storytelling. Swedish mainstay Tiger Stripes reinterprets the track with his own forward-thinking production. Known for his house and techno grooves that have energised clubs from Panorama Bar to Ministry of Sound, he injects ‘Safe With Me’ with shimmering synth layers and driving percussion, making it a perfect complement to the original production.Mia Moretti has established herself with vocal and gospel-driven house sets and productions. Her debut EP ‘Tambor’ (2023) marked a confident step as a producer sampling female bullerengue artists from Colombia, including Petrona Martinez and Toto La Momposina, followed by ‘Best I Can’ (2024) alongside gospel icon Vonita White and remixes from house music pioneers. In 2025, Mia has continued to build momentum with appearances from Ibiza to Paris Fashion Week alongside the launch of her Chef’s Kiss radio show on Diplo’s Revolution. ‘Safe With Me’ continues that trajectory, highlighting her instinct for timeless grooves and soulful storytelling.

Tõnu Naissoo is an esteemed Estonian jazz keyboardist and composer, with a career spanning over five decades. Known for his mastery of the Rhodes and Moog synthesizers, he has been at the forefront of experimental jazz since the 1970s. His innovative approach blends genres and eras, making him a revered figure in both jazz and progressive music circles. With numerous acclaimed recordings to his name and his work continues to push musical boundaries, earning him a dedicated following among jazz enthusiasts and beyond.

Only Music Matters is a mysterious label that deals in white hot minimal and tech from either one unknown or various rotating unknown artists who all go by the name Unknown. They are all straight to dancefloor, no-frills business, including this one: 'AAA001A' is dark and rumbling with a mid-tempo groove and sleazy vocal slurs from a Saint Germain classic. 'BBB001B' brings a more luminous synth glow and fluttering motifs up top that elevate the dubby, wafting drums. 'BBB002B' completes the trip with some warped pads and sci-fi details over another dusty mix of drums and bass. The likes of Dubfire and Priku have already been banging this one, so you should too.

Wenn Sie das ungute Gefühl hatten, dass 2025 irgendwie das Jahr von Thee Headcoatees werden würde, dann klatschen Sie sich selbst herzlich ab - denn überraschenderweise ist es tatsächlich so! Wir können indirekt den Tod unseres lieben verstorbenen Great Ribbon, Mr. Don Craine, dafür verantwortlich machen, dass Thee Headcoats 2022 ein Comeback feierten. Ursprünglich hatten sie geplant nur eine Tribute-EP als Thee Headcoats Sect aufzunehmen - zusammen mit Dons Downliner Sect-Kollegen Keith Grant Evans - aber dann stellten sie fest, dass sie noch ein paar Stunden Zeit im Studio hatten, und dachten sich, dass sie genauso gut auch ein neues Headcoats-Album aufnehmen könnten. Und warum auch nicht? Das Ergebnis war, ohne viel Aufhebens, das Album "Irregularis (The Great Hiatus)", das 2023 bei Damaged Goods erschien. Ende 2024, noch bevor man ein Deerstalker-Band entwirren konnte, waren die Jungs schon wieder am Werk, und eine weitere neue Headcoats-LP war ,im Kasten", deren Veröffentlichung ursprünglich für Anfang dieses Jahres geplant war. ABER dann kam irgendwo jemand auf die Idee: ,Warum sollten nur die Jungs den ganzen Spaß haben? Wie wäre es, wenn wir auch den Sisters of Suave, Thee Headcoatees, eine Chance geben?" Mit allen ihnen zur Verfügung stehender männlichen List und Tücke schalteten Thee Headcoats und Damaged Goods ihre Charmeoffensive ein. Mit purer Entschlossenheit und Hartnäckigkeit wurden Ludella Black, Kyra LaRubia, Bongo Debbie und Holly Golightly nacheinander aus ihren Verstecken gezerrt, wo sie sich lautstark wehrten (was sie am besten können), um die 14 Killer-Songs aufzunehmen, die auf ihrem neuesten Album mit dem raffinierten Titel ,Man-Trap" zu finden sind. Das war keine Kleinigkeit! Anfang 2025 wurde also eine Aufnahmesession in den renommierten Ranscombe Studios in Rochester gebucht, Gin und Snacks wurden vorbereitet, und im Handumdrehen waren die Backing Tracks im Kasten - Thee Headcoats wieder zurück als die beste Backing-Band und Thee Headcoatees zurück am Gesang. Billy Childish übernahm die Produktion. Unbeeindruckt von einigen geografischen Hindernissen auf dem Weg dorthin war Ende Mai das Ergebnis ein glänzendes neues Headcoatees-Album! UND WAS FÜR EIN ALBUM! Es ist mindestens genauso gut wie alle ihre Alben aus den Neunzigern und vielleicht sogar noch besser... (,Ja-a-a-a!", flüstert der Geist von Don Craine.) Diese Mischung aus großartigen Coverversionen und einigen fantastischen neuen Songs ergeben eine verdammt gute LP. Betreten Sie "Man-Trap" auf eigene Gefahr - Sie wissen, dass Sie es wollen! HOLLY GOLIGHTLY hat seit 1999 neun Soloalben veröffentlicht, sechs davon mit Lawyer Dave in The Brokeoffs, sang ein Duett mit Jack White auf dem Album ,Elephant" von The White Stripes und tourte um die Welt.

Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation is a studio album by American jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman, released in September 1961.
The album features what Coleman called a "double quartet," i.e., two self-contained jazz quartets: each with a reed instrument, trumpet, bass, and drums.

The two quartets are heard in separate channels, with Coleman's working quartet at the time in the left channel, and the second quartet, including
the former Coleman rhythm section of Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell, on the right.

The two quartets play simultaneously. Free Jazz was the first album-length improvisation at thirty-seven minutes, unheard of at the time.

The original LP package incorporated Jackson Pollock's 1954 painting The White Light. The cover is a gatefold with a cutout window in the lower right corner allowing a glimpse of the painting;

opening the cover revealed the full artwork, along with liner notes by critic Martin Williams.
Free Jazz served as the blueprint for later large-ensemble free jazz recordings such as Ascension by John Coltrane and Machine Gun by Peter Brötzmann.

Free Jazz is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on white vinyl.

Mona Steinwidder (Museum of No Art) and Mitko Mitkov have spent years exchanging sounds and words across Hamburg's creative landscape - Swimming Pool Reflections is where those exchanges accumulated in Steinwidder's studio beneath the slanted roof of a former barracks. Premiered in November 2024 for Gesa Troch's exhibition "you say water is sweet", the work intertwines Mitkov’s texts (originally composed as emails to members of a swimming club, as imaginary as they are real) with Steinwidder’s clarinet and synthesizer, full of dubby resonance.

Swimming Pool Reflections isn't about swimming. It's about standing at the edge and watching - the way light fractures through water, how shadows play across tile, everything that forms and dissolves in the viewer's eye. The libretto moves through straits where bodies of water collide, small lakes with white slides, pools suspended in generic landscapes generated from uploaded photographs. Binary gods and transparent shadows. Sediment and cosmic hands weaving existence on overdimensional looms.

Across two uninterrupted sides, words float like those oil spots Mitkov describes: "swallowing light, drifting between the waves, forming a strange pattern". The music holds space for these reflections without trying to contain them. Everything stays permeable. Everything keeps moving.

The brilliantly named duo - formed by Adam Morrow and Jamie Sego - might be based in "the hit recording capital of the world", Muscle Shoals, Alabama, but somehow, they have made a concept album about the ancient religious outpost off the coast of northeast England. It's a stunning record that mixes fuzzy guitars with folk horror and fantastic melodies - for fans of Ride, Slowdive, Galaxie 500, Talk Talk, Yo La Tengo and The Clientele. Despite its lyrical inspiration lying thousands of miles away, it comes imbued with the soulfulness of their surroundings - not least because it was recorded in the old Muscle Shoals Sound studio by the Tennessee River, now Portside Sound, which is run by Jamie. "The story of Lindisfarne gave us a framework for what were otherwise very abstract ideas and emotions," explains Adam. "It became a way to make sense of our own moment in history. We really want our lives and societies to always get better, and to be left alone to make that happen. But we are stuck in these cycles of progress and regression, and I think most people are really driven to make sense of it and assign meaning. Lately, we've lived through a global pandemic, a devaluation of truth and reality, and a resurgence of far-right politics into the mainstream. Not really what I expected out of life in 2025." He is keen to point out that, despite the seriousness of its inspirations, the duo had a lot of fun making the album and really want it to be "a living and breathing thing". "We want people to be able to engage with it regardless of whether they care about it as a concept record," he says. "For me, it's just another reason to expand the pedalboard," concludes Jamie. Previously only available on white label, this new version of Home is limited to 100 copies only and features the original version plus Man Power’s Analogue Dub and an additional instrumental version.

‘Cataclysm’ is a poignant call for revolution of both politics and consciousness, conveyed through ten distinct songs written and produced by Zanias between 2020 and 2024. Each piece of music inhabits its own aesthetic universe and rhythm, featuring elemental fusions of coldwave, italo disco, witchhouse, trance, breakbeats, hyperpop and even a touch of drum and bass. The unique amalgamation is best described as post-industrial ethereal wave, of Zanias’s very own signature. The subject matter grapples with how to move forward through times when civilisation and the entire ecosystem of the planet feel like they are on the brink of total collapse, while gazing back over hundreds of thousands of years of human survival in total awe of how far we’ve come. The lyrics aim for a balance of vulnerability and poetic strength, as the audience is beckoned to “thread the power through the pain”. While darker atmospheres are conjured through the sound design and instrumentation, the album ultimately directs itself steadfast toward the glittering sheen of hope. As the tempo ascends through the course of the album’s tracklist, so too does Zanias’s deep attachment to our sacred humanity and refusal to give in to despair.

‘Cataclysm’ represents an ambitious defiance of genre tropes in pursuit of pure artistry, with a potent political message delivered with assertive fervour and playful sincerity. Additional production was contributed by mixing engineer Trey Frye, best known for his work in the band Korine, and the album was mastered by Alain Paul.

None other than Nick Cave helped director John Hillcoat with the screenplay for the movie Lawless, while he also took great care of the movie’s soundtrack. Cave and fellow musician Warren Ellis form the core of The Bootleggers, a country and bluegrass ensemble that welcome a string of guests artist like Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley and Mark Lanegan. The Lawless soundtrack contains cover versions of artists such as Velvet Underground and Captain Beefheart and also features original compositions by Cave/Ellis and the great Willie Nelson. Lawless is a studded movie by director John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition) about a gang of bootleggers in Virginia during the Great Depression. And when we say star-studded, we really mean it: Guy Pierce, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Shia LeBoeuf signed up for the gritty and evocative story about brothers who try to create their own American Dream during Prohibition. Lawless is available as a limited edition edition of 750 numbered copies on smoke coloured vinyl and includes an 8-page booklet with movie pictures and liner notes by Hal Willner and director John Hillcoat.

After the GS boom subsided and New Rock was in full swing, Segawa Hiroshi was one of the few bands pursuing country rock and southern rock in Japanese, while most bands were aiming for British rock.
The album "Pierrot," one of the culminations of this endeavor, was produced with the help of a lineup of representative Japanese new rock artists, including Ishihama Hideki and Kozuki Jun from
Flower Travellin' Band, Yamauchi Tetsu and Harada Yushin from Samurai, and Ohno Katsuo from PYG.

Godzilla’s/Eatin’ Dust is the most popular release in Fu Manchu’s 30 year recorded history. It is the combination of what were originally 2 distinct 10” releases: Godzilla (1997) and Eatin’ Dust (1999).In 2018, Scott Hill (vocals/guitar) found the original tapes from the Godzilla recording sessions produced by Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age/Kyuss) and unearthed a secret that had been in his garage since 1996...The band had recorded 4 songs that had never been released. These extra songs are early versions of "Grendel, Snowman," "Strolling Astronomer" and "Urethane” (whose final versions appeared on 1997’s The Action Is Go) and a cover of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" (which is a different version than the one which was released on 7” in 1998). The songs line up perfectly with the original tracklist, which includes the band’s crowd pleasing cover of Blue Oyster Cult’s “Godzilla” and fan favourites “Eatin’ Dust” and “Mongoose” (which was featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Toyota and included in the TV series “Sons Of Anarchy” and the films “Boondock Saints II” and “The Hot Chick”).In 2019, the band released a 2,000 unit limited edition of this new version in a triple 10" package. Due to the continuing demand after this version sold out, in 2020 the band issued a new limited edition version of 1,500 units neon green and white splatter double 12" gatefold package with 2 sided insert including the previously unreleased tracks at 45 RPM for the heaviest audio possible. Five years later, they are finally doing a repress of this 45RPM double 12” version on white with brown splatter vinyl in a limited edition run of 2000 units.

Steve Gunn ist seit über einem Jahrzehnt einer der Vorreiter der amerikanischen experimentellen / gitarrenorientierten Rockmusik. Nach drei gefeierten Alben, die er für Matador aufgenommen hat, erscheint sein siebtes Studioalbum - und erstes seit vier Jahren - bei No Quarter. Mit "Daylight Daylight" wollte Gunn etwas von der Intimität des Solospiels einfangen, das Gefühl der Möglichkeiten und Entdeckungen, das entsteht, wenn er sich hinsetzt, um zu schreiben, und gleichzeitig eine reichhaltige Klangwelt schaffen, in die der Hörer eintauchen kann. Anstatt wie bei früheren Alben eine Band zusammenzustellen, um die Songs auszuarbeiten, holte er sich einen einzigen Hauptmitarbeiter an Bord: den Produzenten James Elkington, einen alten Freund und langjährigen Mitarbeiter, der auch Gunns Album "The Unseen In Between" aus dem Jahr 2019 produziert hat. Elkington ist als Gitarrist bekannt, aber Gunn bat ihn, Arrangements für Streicher und Holzblasinstrumente beizusteuern, inspiriert zum Teil von der Musik, über die sie im Laufe der Jahre gesprochen hatten (z. B. Mark Hollis, Ennio Morricone, The Fall, Basil Kirchin), und von der Entwicklung ihrer eigenen Beziehung beim Aufnehmen von Platten - sowohl zusammen als auch mit anderen. "Return of the Giant Slits" is the second studio album by the English punk band The Slits, released in October 1981 by CBS Records. This album marked a departure from their earlier punk sound, embracing a more experimental approach influenced by afro-pop, dub, and world music. The album was produced by Dennis Bovell, Dick O'Dell and The Slits. Upon its release, "Return of the Giant Slits" received mixed reviews, with some listeners finding its experimental nature challenging. However, over time, it has been re-evaluated and appreciated for its innovative fusion of genres. -Pitchfork described it as "a slippery, glorious mess that will infuriate anyone expecting the Slits to revisit their debut." this MOV re-release comes as a Limited edition of 1000 copies on blue, black and white marbled vinyl.

Following on from the super-fast stock sell-outs of the 2LP of joyous Alfredo selections, Rebirth follow up with the first of the sample EPs of rare, cherished and formerly unreleased gems. Deep Joy of Brainiak (and Mo Wax) fame had their stunning “Fall” track remixed by lord Sabre, Andrew Weatherall himself; an often-missed indie-chug delight from the early 90’s. The Thrashing Doves and their scene stamping classic Je$u$ on the Payroll, needs very little introduction, but this Unreleased Instrumental Version, like it states, has never been on vinyl before. Flip over for another hip hop/club hybrid of a track with KC Flightt’s “Lets get Jazzy”, and its iconic sound which was remixed by the legendary Blaze; then finishing up with sunrise/sunset jamm, “Blinky Blue Eyed Sunrise”, by The Metaluna Mutant. A must for any lover of the white isle and it’s heritage.

Fin" is the fourth album by Spanish band Exnovios, a group that has been described as a blend of Spacemen 3 influences and the best of Spanish '60s pop. The new dozen songs that make up their fourth LP happily shifts away a bit from to the usual unbeatable formula of this Pamplona-based quartet (garage reverbcore as if sung by Spanish legends Juan y Junior) and add new and fascinating layers-at once fresh yet entirely logical in the evolution of such a unique band within the local scene. Exnovios' new collection of songs wasn't created in a rehearsal space or recorded in a single week in the studio. Rather, it was composed and rehearsed slowly in bedrooms and living rooms-songs that were later brought into the studio with the idea of finishing building them there. Over the course of nearly a year, the band approached each song one by one, in a handcrafted manner, alongside their trusted ally, producer Guillermo Mutiloa. The result is a treasure trove of songs, perhaps more psych-folk than ever, as acoustic pieces abound-full of exquisite melodies without abandoning the consciousness-expanding journeys that have made Exnovios a cult favorite: from the instant classic 'Nubes' (with its very Byrds-like harmonies and gorgeous twelve-string acoustic guitar), to the delightful Big Star-style fiction of 'El cine se queda en silencio', or even the fabulous cover of Stephin Merritt's 'Tú tú tú tú.' These are often drumless tracks, perhaps with some light percussion, always featuring detailed and exquisite arrangements of guitar, electronics, percussion, and even touches of strings. And despite the reduced presence of drums (which, along with the laid-back recording approach, makes this almost Exnovios' "White Album"), fans of the band's legendary fuzz-guitar reverbcore sound won't be disappointed: there's the psychedelic 'Viaje Alucinante', full of their classic riffs; their brutal cover of Psychic TV's 'Godstar' (drenched in echo and eccentric vocal effects); and the perfectly crafted 'Naves Misteriosas', which pulls off the impossible feat of sounding like 'Cerca de las Estrellas'-era Los Pekenikes in the verses, Phil Spector in the chorus, and the Ramones in the post-chorus. Anathema has spent the vast majority of their career making music that defies

There is a new artist from Japan followed by the name Kakeru who is giving his Shaw Cuts debut with ãRaw CourageÒ, telling the story of an emperor besieged by an army who then entrusts his child to the Black Dragon Clan heading off to a dangerous journey.
An attempt to usurp the Ming Emperor's throne by the sinister martial artist simply known as ãold monster" and his armies results in most of the palace being massacred. ãQuagmireÒ and its vibrant percussive pattern carried by a heavy broken kick and a driving bassline help the emperorÕs infant son to escape and put in care of the Black Dragon Clan.
En route they are attacked by government forces but rescued by two knights. They prove to be a valuable addition to the party in subsequent encounters with their pursuers. ãMirror ForestÒ and its laid-back atmosphere, mysterious vocal snatches and shining pads carried by an expressive drum pattern help the travellers parrying every sneaky attack on their journey.
Trying to head to the White Dragon Clan in order to seek for help, the squad has to masquerade and take several battles, always protecting the baby in tow. The razor-sharp percussions, corrosive bass and thrashing kick of ãSwayingÒ tremendously supports the warriors in each fight.
Finally they make it to the temple of the White Dragons where they show their Black Dragon seal as a sign of solidarity. But all of a sudden the mood changes. ãBroken BubblesÒ and its menacing atmosphere built up by a monstrous sub bass, reduced but impactful drums and subtle synth elements underline the potential threat. Did they walk into a trap? Is there enough energy left for one big fight? Raw courage is vital now.

DIIV teams with In Sheep's Clothing to release their previously digital-only 'Frog in Boiling Water' Remix EP on a limited edition white label 12". Featuring remixes from Minor Science, Mount Kimbie, Daniel Avery and upsammy.

Following the success of Highly Refined Pirates' forward-thinking guitar gymnastics and Menos El Oso's groundbreaking glitch rock, Seattle's premier pop revisionists Minus The Bear dug into some of rock music's most ostentatious years for inspiration for their 2007 album, Planet of Ice. The title alone conjures images of Yes's Relayer album art, and the influence of the elder statesmen's symphonic scope can be felt throughout Planet of Ice's lush and intricate arrangements. You can also hear the band channel the ominous instrumental interplay of Lamb-era Genesis on "Dr. L'Ling", the deceptively savvy musicianship and pristine production of Steely Dan on "White Mystery", and the tightrope walk between ethereal space and pre-metal riffage of Pink Floyd's "Echoes" on "Lotus". Not that Minus The Bear completely abandoned their earlier style_elements of Menos El Oso's sample-driven technique can be heard on the lead single "Knights". But the heart of the song ultimately belongs to the haunting Fripp-esque guitar lines spliced between verses. After being out of print on record since 2010, Suicide Squeeze is proud to reintroduce Planet of Ice's creative marriage of classic motifs and modern musical wizardry with a vinyl remaster courtesy of Bernie Grundman.

Long-time NuNorthern Soul contributor, B.J. Smith is a man in demand, dividing his time between solo work, playing guitar in Crazy P man James Baron’s popular JIM outfit, collaborating in a variety of well-regarded projects (Smith & Mudd, Bison and White Elephant amongst them) and composing for TV. Due to this impressive list of musical commitments, solo releases have been few and far between of late, with Smith’s most recent NuNorthern Soul release, a stripped back version of his Big Sur single, dropping late 2023.

It's been ever longer since he delivered a volume in his popular and ongoing Dedications To The Greats series, where the singer-songwriter and composer successfully turns his hand to other people’s songs. Since debuting the series on NuNorthern Soul in 2013 via revelatory and inspired covers of tracks by Mos Def and the Pharcyde, Smith has covered cuts by Outkast, Prefab Sprout and Soul II Soul.

On volume four, Smith’s first volume in the series for five years, he delivers a “cover of a cover” – a revolutionary and imaginative interpretation of Billy Swan’s ‘Don’t Be Cruel’, itself a version of a song first made famous by Elvis Presley. It was their mutual love of Swan’s version that brought Smith together with the release’s most prominent guest artist, Joe Harvey-Whyte, whose lilting, bittersweet and deeply emotive pedal steel performances can be heard across the EP.

Smith provides three contrasting takes. The EP is led by the ‘Mother Earth’ version, a slowly unfurling epic in which waves of effects-laden pedal steel and sun-splashed picking acoustic guitars usher in Smith’s eyes-closed vocalisations, settling into a groove reminiscent of his collaborative work with long-time friend and collaborator Paul ‘Mudd’ Murphy that showcases Harvey-Whyte centre stage to joyful effect. As the 14-minute epic progresses, we’re treated to long, languid electric guitar solos, percussion-laden slow-motion builds and hazy, stretched-out organ solos. It’s a breathlessly brilliant concoction that’s a million miles away from either Swan or Presley’s versions.

In contrast, the similarly epic ‘Earth Heart’ version – available in full vocal and instrumental takes – pushes the song front and centre. Following an extended build up, where Tamar Osborn’s gorgeous and fluid flute motifs rub shoulders with languid guitar solos and Harvey-Whyte’s pedal steel, Smith takes to the mic, delivering an emotive performance of the song’s heartfelt lyrics over a hushed, slow-motion groove. The track builds in waves as it progresses, with Smith layering up instrumentation as it rolls towards a fine conclusion.

Completing a superb package is the ‘Root Heart Version’, a Balearic-meets-Americana take built around shuffling drums, toasty bass guitar, extended pedal steel instrumentation, flashes of flute and Smith’s sun-bright acoustic guitar. Loved-up and more than a little saucer-eyed, it’s a bona-fide sunset delight.
