The record opens with Connection, a first official collaboration between Yanamaste and Alarico. The track captures the intersection of both artists' approaches: Yanamaste's intricate and distinctive synth work meets Alarico's driving, forward momentum. Fast, pulsing and tightly controlled, it unfolds through cycles of tension and release, stripped back to its essential elements. On Crimson Leaf Minstre, Toru Ikemoto builds a detailed and contrasting sound palette. Bright, delicate elements interact with darker stabs that disrupt and reshape the rolling bassline, creating a sense of movement that feels continuous rather than moment-based. The track leans into depth and variation, balancing clarity with a more mysterious tone. Blue Lights by Lea Occhi & Amotik shifts into a more groove-led space. What begins with a functional framework gradually opens up - subtle chords and restrained vocal elements add texture and attitude without overtaking the structure, resulting in a track that feels both light and deep. Closing the record, IB1809 sees Alarico return with a defining statement. Reduced but highly present, the track builds around a strong rhythmic core, where chords, melody and vocal fragments interlock with precision. There is a sense of contrast at play - melancholic yet driven, vulnerable yet forceful - culminating in a moment that feels both functional and expansive. Across all four tracks, the release remains tightly focused - fast, dynamic and cohesive, with a strong emphasis on movement and detail. Through decades behind the decks, an unwavering commitment to vinyl culture and his work with Key Vinyl, he has helped shape a generation of artists rooted in functionality, precision and a direct connection to the dancefloor. For his curation, the focus lies on alignment. The selection brings together artists who reflect that same discipline: a reduced but expressive approach, stripped to essentials yet rich in detail. With contributions from Toobris and Sons of Hidden, both previously featured on Key Vinyl, the release also reflects the long-standing artistic relationships behind his vision. Bat by Toobris opens the record with a powerful, straightforward statement. Driven by a steady pulse and minimal elements, the track feels alive through its control - direct, efficient and highly expressive without excess. Before Mirrors by Sons of Hidden continues this direction while expanding into a more spheric space. Tension is held consistently, with subtle accents carefully placed to shift the energy and draw the listener deeper into the track. On the B-side, Clouds Cream by Quelza stands out as a more intricate and exploratory piece. Deep and immersive, it unfolds through detailed sound design and evolving structures. Rather than relying on repetition alone, the track develops its own internal logic - balancing complexity with clarity, and allowing each element the space to contribute to a larger whole. Closing the record, Swing of Time by Jin Synth shifts into a rougher, more moody territory. Subtle pitch modulation and shifting textures create a sense of instability, giving the track a distinctive edge while maintaining its functionality. Across all four tracks, the release remains focused and cohesive - built on reduction, tension and control, but carried by small, defining moments that shape its movement. Crossing borders between traditions, sonic territories, and instruments, musicians Tomáš Niesner and Aldana Duoraan created their first collaborative album Plot. The sound of khomus meets guitar melodies simplified into pentatonic scales, intertwining in a dialogue that remains playful while moving between meditative passages and bewitching, hypnotic moments. Solid yet ever-changing, these melodies explore a delicate relationship between the present interactions, their past, and possible futures. “I feel that the essence of our collaboration is not to close the songs off, but to leave them open so that they can develop and be interpreted a little differently each time, depending on the circumstances,” Niesner explains when describing the duo’s artistic approach. The recording therefore captures only the most essential moments and ideas, which continue to unfold in new directions during live performances.

Each segment of Plot, word meaning “fence” in Czech, while also referring in English to a narrative structure or hidden plan, represents a different constellation shaped by the pairing of specific khomuses and guitar tuning. The track titles, such as The Key of Radiance or The Key of Humbling, are inspired by the ancient Chinese text I Ching (usually translated as Book of Changes). Like the classical cosmological text itself, the compositions meditate on similar fundamental principles. The ideas explored in the chapters of the I Ching are thus loosely translated into musical language. Themes of Radiance, Attending, or Nearing thus loom over the reflective realm of Aldana and Tomáš.

The two musicians first met in 2021 through a collaboration organized by Konektiv, an event series that aims to create new connections between genres and musicians with diverse backgrounds. Aldana Duoraan is a Prague-based artist born in the Sakha Republic, whose experiments with the khomus (also known as the jaw harp) draw on the traditional music of her homeland. Tomáš Niesner, a sound artist and guitarist based in Brno, navigates the realms of American primitive guitar while incorporating influences ranging from folk to drone. Because the duo rarely finds themselves in the same city, an important moment in the development of Plot was a showcase at Cafe OTO, organized by mappa. The album, capturing the fleeting energy of this encounter and several others, has now been released on the Slovak experimental label, which helped bring the collaboration to life.

I Bet on Sky is the third Dinosaur Jr. album since the original trio – J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph – reformed in 2005. And, crazily, it marks the band’s 10th studio album since their debut on Homestead Records in 1985. Back in the ‘80s, if anyone has suggested that these guys would be performing and recording at such a high level 27 years later, they would have been laughed out of the tree fort.

The trio has taken everything they’ve learned from the various projects they tackled over the years, and poured it directly into their current mix. J’s guitar approaches some of its most unhinged playing here, but there’s a sense of instrumental control that matches the sweet murk of his vocals (not that he always remembers to exercise control on stage, but that’s another milieu). This is head-bobbing riff-romance at the apex. Lou’s basswork shows a lot more melodicism now as well, although his two songs on I Bet on Sky retain the jagged rhythmic edge that has so often marked his work. And Murph…well, he still pounds the drums as hard and as strong as a pro wrestler, with deceptively simple structures that manage to interweave themselves perfectly with his bandmates’ melodic explosions.


After submerging myself in I Bet on Sky, it’s clear that the album is a true and worthy addition to the Dinosaur Jr. discography. It hews close enough to rock formalism to please the squares. Yet it is brilliantly imprinted with the trio’s magical equation, which is a gift to the rest of us. For a combo that began as anomalous fusion of hardcore punk and pop influences, Dinosaur Jr. have proven themselves to be unlikely masters of the long game.

Edena Gardens unleash their most expansive work to date. Quintessence is structured in 4 parts as a Magnum Opus—the ancient alchemical process of transformation. But this is not a work of high fantasy. It is a seismic meditation. A study of deep time, weighted matter, and the crushing gravity of change. Quintessence is massive. 79+ minutes of tethered magnitude, carved into six sprawling tracks. The trio pushes further down into the void, discovering new dimensions. Each piece allow the form to stretch. To break its own boundaries. Shifting terrains and unpredictable geometry. The core remains unhurried: A slow, relentless, unabridged crawl. This sort of alchemy demands patience, allowing every sonic mutation to breathe, shift, and solidify in a new atmosphere.

Recorded by Jonas Munk (Causa Sui), the sound is rooted in a natural, anchored production, as if the band is right in front of you: Causa Sui drummer Jakob Skøtt drives the pulse and adds ghostly, sparse treatment to the mix. Nicklas Sørensen (Papir) weaves angular guitar geometry over the deep sediment of Martin Rude’s bass and baritone strings. Martin also supplies the original artwork, spreading across 4 panels (one for each vinyl side), coloured by Jakob Skøtt: A work in its own right. The final work is a massive, physical expanse: Their Quintessence.

With his distinctive touch for melody and texture, "Thunder EP" opens a portal to a new world, both vibrant and underground. Split into two parts, the A-side burns with a groovy house and breakbeat energy, while the B-side shines with deep, progressive and electronic soundscapes.

With its powerful vocals reminiscent of Bicep and a melody that brings a breath of fresh air, the opening track of the EP "Thunder" has all the makings of a future anthem. It perfectly sets the tone with its raw breakbeat energy and rolling textures

Right after, the A2 "You've Got The Feeling" offers a subtle blend of softness and groove. True to Houseum’s deep and sunny DNA, the track revolves around an effective classic piano house hook and a captivating soul vocal that instantly sticks in your head.

Closing the A-side, "Space Jam" shifts into more atmospheric territories with floating vocals and airy synth pads, moving the dancefloor toward a deeper, more mental vibe.

On the flip side, the hypnotic bassline of the B1 "Bullet Train" sets the pace immediately. The track nods to 90s progressive house through its structure while offering distinctive deep tech and dub techno sounds.

Finally, "Haag" wraps up the record with a subtle blend of IDM, ambient, and dub techno, a sound aesthetic that might remind a certain In Limbo EP released on Houseum's sub-label, Ellipse Records. It acts as the perfect closing track, inviting the listener to wind down and float away after the intensity of the previous tracks.

Chloe Lula Announces Syntax: A Singular Vision Connecting Ambient Meditations and Hypnotic Techno San Francisco-born, Berlin-based artist Chloe Lula announces the launch of Syntax, a record label that codifies her unique position within the electronic music landscape. Arriving as the definitive home for her work as a DJ, producer and cellist, Syntax follows her established residency at Tresor and acclaimed releases on foundational labels including Mord, Blueprint and the highly esteemed experimental imprint Subtext. Her label is the culmination of a decade spent as both a participant in and a defining voice in the scene—a space where Lula’s deep and cohesive vision of electronic music finally converge. The label’s name refers to the arrangement of elements to forge new meaning, a philosophy Lula applies to her singular musical grammar. Whether through her slow-burning, exacting techno or her instrumental compositions, Lula’s work is characterized by a patience that understands nuance and counterpoint. This vision is reflected in the label's structure: releases will arrive in thematic series that bypass traditional genre markers to focus on atmosphere, immersion and hypnotica. The imprint’s debut, SYN-PLS01, marks the beginning of the Pulse series, a collection specifically engineered for the floor. For this inaugural release, Lula took recordings from Swiss electroacoustic composer Alexandra Bellon as a jumping-off point, molding Bellon's architectural sense of space into six tracks of driving techno. Future series will expand the catalog into ambient and instrumental territories, reconciling formal acoustic tradition with the raw functionality of the electronic landscape. With a career spanning editorial leadership at Resident Advisor and her work shaping the dialogue of the culture through her writing and interviews, Lula brings a deep, analytical knowledge to her craft. Syntax is the connective tissue between her work in the booth and her critical contributions to the field—a project that formalizes her distinct perspective as both a curator and a creator. There's a tendency in metal to mistake aggression for honesty, volume for depth. To confuse the performance of darkness with its actual weight. Hidden Fires Burn Hottest, the new album from San Francisco-based post-black metal band Bosse-de-Nage, sidesteps this entirely. It’s the group’s most fully realized work yet, precisely because it refuses to be pinned down.

Bosse-de-Nage have been working with The Flenser for over fifteen years. They were one of the first bands the label ever partnered with and have the longest active relationship in the label's history. But unlike most bands who build momentum through constant touring and visibility, Bosse-de-Nage has largely existed apart from the music world's usual machinery. They've evolved on their own terms, in relative isolation, allowing the work to develop without outside pressure or influence. What began rooted in black metal anonymity has mutated into something that actively defies categorization. The aggression is still there, but it's no longer the point. Hidden Fires Burn Hottest finds the band treating emotions like physical objects, feelings with spatial properties. “No Such Place"" describes a space that can't exist but does anyway, somewhere between thought and location. ""Immortality Project"" examines infinite possibility not as promise but as problem, endless options collapsing under their own weight. These songs don't use metaphor to describe emotion. They make emotion into something you could theoretically touch.
Tracked by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker) at Atomic Garden East and mixed and mastered by Richard Chowenhill of Agriculture, Hidden Fires Burn Hottest was years in development, with some tracks beginning in 2018.

The long writing process offered time that most records don't get. Time to live with ideas, revise endlessly, to let structures settle. For the first time, lyricist Bryan Manning wrote everything in advance, creating a surplus to pull from rather than working under deadline pressure. The difference shows.
Coming off Further Still, an album built on constraint and economy, Bosse-de-Nage sought the opposite: sprawl, strangeness, fewer rules. Space for ideas to develop without rushing them. Dynamics that move through quiet as much as noise. Presence earned through atmosphere instead of volume. The record even includes ""Mementos,"" which might be considered the first love song the band has ever written.

Nothing here coheres into a theme. These are pieces pulled from low moments and private feelings made public through sound. The band has never been interested in positivity, in music that resolves cleanly or offers comfort. But bleakness doesn't mean humorlessness. There's something darkly funny running through much of it, even when it shouldn't be.
Hidden Fires Burn Hottest doesn't explain itself. It just insists: what you feel is as real as what you can see."

Originally released in 2012 the "Collider EP" by Romanian producer x sound artist YVAT caters a hefty set of six tracks for advanced, yet bass aware and low end loving late night dancefloors. Fractured IDM meets HyperPhonk, dense layers of slightly off-kilter synths, fragmented echoes of Bass Music and Post-Glitchstep, scattered remnants of Drum'n'Bass, cheeky vaporchrome melodies and highly detailed structures, all bound and glued together by gnarly, oftentimes overwhelming sawtooth synth basslines for the braindance crew. This sounds like a WARP Records release that never happened.

With Moving Pressure 02, Rene Wise allows us to dip into a psychedelic undercurrent, yet maintaining a very grounded mentality. Its an effortlessly rolling type of minimalism, but lets be clear; its a type of minimalistic spirit backed up by a rich, kaleidoscopic sound design. MP02 is an immersive batch of mystical dance floor journeys which, in four steps, navigates the realms of gaseous sound design to more subaquatic dynamics, working with a palette of serpentine rhythms that pull us into his distinctive, subtly hypnotic world.

A1 Silo Cybin opens the release with the artists unmistakable kick drum pattern, the heartbeat of his sound. Theres a trippy, swampy energy here, enhanced by robotic vocals and broken claps that weave polyrhythms into the track. The minimalist core pulses with playful energy, while detailed textural elements softly emerge like a waves bubbling foam. Up next we have Complicated, which offers a more minimalist composition, yet injected with rich rhythmic structures. Small circular modulations swirl in the background, filling the air with a delicate yet persistent energy, while his signature vocal snippets further enhance the groove. On the B side, Rough Escorts taps into a brighter psychedelic dimension, conjuring the ethos and trademark of Moving Pressure as a whole. This special collector's edition is available in a strictly limited run of only 250 copies. The vinyl version is pressed on transparent vinyl and features metallic paper packaging along with a printed inner sleeve made from dyed paper stock. The entire release was designed by the exceptionally creative graphic designer Weronika Lipniewska, resulting in an edition that is as captivating visually as it is musically.

EY AY (Deluxe Slay Jazz) is the second album by Piotr Checki - an artist who, following the intimate, home-recorded debut PE, returns with something radically different: a living, spontaneous work captured in real time. If PE was a personal document of moments enclosed within a controlled studio environment, EY AY is its opposite - a sonic organism that breathes, pulses, and unfolds in the here and now.
The album was created in just two weeks during a period of intense inspiration. Ch?cki developed a series of compositional sketches which were then expanded together with drummer Tymek Papior and pianist Marcel Balinski during a single six-hour recording session. Crucially, the entire album was recorded as one-take performances. No overdubs, no edits, no second attempts. It is a document of pure presence - a moment that can never be repeated.
The subtitle Deluxe Slay Jazz carries an additional personal layer of meaning. It serves as a subtle yet significant nod to one of Checki's greatest passions: ski jumping. The initials "DSJ" may also evoke the cult classic ski-jumping computer game released in 1999, beloved by an entire generation of players.
With EY AY, Checki redefines his approach to music-making. Instead of constructing rigid structures, he places trust in the process. Instead of production, interaction. Instead of perfection, authenticity. This is music that does not strive to be finished - it simply exists.

Racing Mount Pleasant began as a group of friends and like-minded musicians in Ann Arbor, anchored at a single creative house that various members of the band have frequented and, to this day, continue to live in near the University of Michigan.

After an early album and smattering of songs under the name Kingfisher, including one beguiling and ambitious album released in 2022, the band reimagined themselves as Racing Mount Pleasant.

Now the band are reintroducing themselves under this new moniker with a beautiful, challenging self-titled debut album that draws on each member’s academic mastery of their instruments, but also a spirited defiance of conventional song structures—or even what a contemporary band looks or sounds like.

The band supported Geese in the fall and embarked on their own headline tour in 2026.

With Fuck, Marry, Kill, Tink delivers her most provocative and conceptually sharp body of work to date, firmly reclaiming her position as a premier storyteller in the modern R&B landscape. Moving beyond the diary-entry style of her earlier years, this project utilizes the titular game as a brutal yet honest framework for the complexities of modern intimacy. Tink navigates the chaos of the dating world with a dual-threat precision that few can match, seamlessly blending the grit of her Chicago rap roots with the velvet textures of contemporary soul. Under the executive production of Hitmaka, the album finds its heartbeat in the friction between high-gloss production and raw, unfiltered lyricism.

The album is meticulously structured to mirror the chaotic cycle of urban romance: the adrenaline of fleeting lust, the heavy stakes of long-term commitment, and the inevitable coldness of a bridge burned. In the "Fuck" segment, Tink radiates a lethal confidence, delivering anthems of autonomy and physical desire that demand space in the club and on the charts. As the project transitions into "Marry," she peels back the armor, offering a vulnerable look at the desire for stability and the terrifying leap of faith required to trust a partner. However, it is in the "Kill" section where Tink’s songwriting truly bites; here, she chronicles the aftermath of betrayal and the empowerment that comes from cutting ties, transforming her heartbreak into a weapon of self-preservation.

Ultimately, Fuck, Marry, Kill is a masterclass in "Toxic R&B" that refuses to settle for easy answers. Tink captures the specific anxiety of a generation trying to distinguish between a temporary thrill and a permanent soulmate, all while navigating a world of ghosting and digital infidelity. By leaning into her flaws and her triumphs with equal intensity, she creates a sonic space where listeners feel both seen and vindicated. This isn't just an album about love—it's a survival guide for the heart, narrated by an artist who has seen every side of the game and lived to write the definitive soundtrack for it.

Having made their back catalog available to a wider public via High Roller Records, Mexican speed and thrash metal force Phantom will release their third full-length assault „Not Midnight Yet“ via the label. Recorded and mixed once again with Héctor “Northen” Ibarra at Nehtron Studios in Guadalajara and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony in Germany, this new album captures the band at their most technical and dynamic. “I am never fully satisfied with my records and I try to push forward and expand our boundaries with every new material—without changing the soul and core of what Phantom stands for: Old School Heavy Metal,“ explains mastermind J.C. García. „This record puts together very well everything that we are. Because of that, I think this is a juggernaut of an album.” Tracks such as ‘Hordes Of Bats’ deliver relentless speed and riff-driven aggression, while ‘Dracula’s Curse’ and the title track lean into powerful midtempo dynamics and complex structures. ‘The Pale Remains Of Time’ stands out as one of the album’s most ambitious moments, combining melodic vocals, clean guitar interludes and subtle progressive touches. “I try to break the established formula and add more textures and layers while keeping the old school spirit,” J.C. states. “It’s a very personal record and a work I’m very proud of. "Paired Works is a double EP by Justine Perry and Paula Koski, developed in parallel within the same time and environment. Evolving through years of shared surroundings and creative exchange, the record emerges as a natural extension of that connection.
Produced separately, the tracks document two distinct inner worlds shaped through proximity. Justine Perry leans into deep, hypnotic forms, while Paula Koski moves through dubby and spacious structures driven by texture.

Following the success of his project DFRA Experience Jazz Band – Jazz In, Argentinian deep house maestro DFRA returns to Groovin Recordings for his highly anticipated second 12" vinyl release, "All About You EP".
While his first Groovin record heavily merged live modal jazz and bebop structures with electronic music, All About You sees DFRA shifting focus directly back to the late-night dancefloor. Dropping just in time for the July summer heat, this four-track EP delivers a masterclass in clean, sophisticated deep house.
Across both sides, the Buenos Aires producer effortlessly pairs crisp percussion with warm, hypnotic basslines and soulful chord progressions. From the smooth, vocal-tinted groove of the title track to the late-night atmosphere of the B-side cuts, this record perfectly balances a timeless, classic edge with modern production weight.

MAR 004 continues the evolving catalogue of Moozikeh Analog Room, a label imprint emerging from the broader Analog Room ecosystem. ´Salva´ unfolds as a slow-moving sonic passage, suspended between stillness and transformation. Rooted in a deeply personal lineage, the album reimagines a long-standing family wound through the lens of myth, with the intention of altering its direction. Rather than recounting events, DIMA constructs a parallel narrative, one where sound becomes a means of reconfiguring what was once haunted.

Emerging from an intuitive and studio-centered process, Salva is shaped through experimentation, co-creation, and temporal patience. Working primarily with the computer as her main instrument, DIMA assembles fragments of sound, plugins, sampled material, improvised gestures, and stems drawn from cinematic sources into a porous and evolving sonic architecture. Composition here is accumulative, guided by sensation. Within this framework, certain tracks introduce restrained pop sensibilities, glimpses of melody, song structure, and tonal clarity that surface briefly before dissolving back into the broader sonic language.

´Salva´ is a passage. A listening experience that invites the audience to inhabit uncertainty, to stay with sensation, and to consider how sound can hold stories that language alone can´t resolve.

Brannten Schnüre is an experimental dark folk group out of Würzburg, Germany. Christian Schoppik composed and played all the music, Katie Rich whispers, recites and sings. Together they make astoundingly beautiful folk with a rich instrumentation leaning towards the atonal spectrum. Instrumental wanderings stand alongside Nico-esque poetry tales. Christian plays the accordeon and in some songs guitar and flute. Inspired by hierophants like Nový Svet and David Jackman, solemn song fragments (a lot of old greek rembetiko-recordings) are modified and looped, with additional instruments and voices being integrated later on. Their music has been described as 'surreal folkcollage' and 'german hauntology'.

With the emergence of Schoppik's second project, a dada cabaret called Agnes Beil in 2010, Brannten Schnüre moved closer to the song structures of its frivolous sibling. The songs of Schoppik's latest creation Sommer im Pfirsichhain are further accompanied by a female singing voice, lending the pieces the voluptuous quality of a stickily tense midsummer. Sommer Im Pfirsichhain (Summer In The Peachgrove) is the second part of a quartet of releases. The first being Aprilnacht which got released on Sic Sic Tapes last year. Part three Geträumt hab' ich vom Martinszug and part four will follow later.

Reference points are bands like Winter Family and Twinsistermoon. Music etched on folkloric, ritual elements transferred into the 21th century. Also worth mentioning is the hand-drawn artwork which is made by artist Gwénola Carrère.

D91LINKSERIES_01 inaugurates a new split record series by Distrito 91 focused on connecting artists, sonic identities and parallel visions through the classic 12” format.

For its first transmission, the series brings together two projects emerging from different areas of Spain’s underground electronic landscape: Geistform and Half Mute.

On Side A, Geistform, also known for his electro alias Univac, delivers three tracks driven by raw machine energy, analogue sequences and industrial pressure. His sound draws from rhythmic noise and minimal electronics, evoking the mechanical intensity of the European industrial tradition.

Side B features Half Mute, an alias of Madrid based artist Groof, one of the long standing figures connected to the Spanish underground techno scene. His tracks move through dark electro structures, hypnotic sequencing and minimalist techno, balancing tension and functionality within a distinctly nocturnal atmosphere.

A catalyst for all sorts of noise-making endeavors, Bob Bellerue embraces chaos as a positive force. As a musician, he harnesses the violent timbres and textures from feedback clashing against piano wires, amplifiers, metal, zithers, electronics etc. He's also been central in harnessing community through his long standing Ende Tymes festival in New York, providing an intersectional platform for all voices to utter their noise. To a polite society, things such as chaos, noise, and anarchy threaten the normative structures that can assert control and maintain power over others. Bellerue qualifies his practice as a form of sonic animism, in which engages with that which is unheard in materials, equipment, and their relationships, developing a process of amplified discovery. The unhinged, the unquantifiable, and the unknowable are all possible outcomes in Bellerue's expansive works.

Chaos Is A Law is a macrotonal album, whose expressive de-centralization originates from rasping noise, intense textural accretions, brutalist drone, and inharmonic ambience. For all of the sustained harmonics and dissonant frequencies, the album is in constant motion, with Bellerue pushing dynamics that build, rupture, collapse and reform with an almost organic morphology. At times, it boils with a feral intensity. At others, its muscularity collapses into peculiar almost half-melodic figures, mutated within all the distortion. One could look to the free noise practitioners from New Zealand (e.g. A Handful Of Dust, Birchville Cat Motel, Surface of the Earth) or to the alchemical dronescaping of Stephen O'Malley and Organum. Yet, Bellerue's work maintains a bespoke tactility that is uniquely his.

In Bellerue's words, "The universe is a feedback loop. Creating and destroying. Growing and decaying. Loving and dying. Expanding and contracting. The big bang is the end result of everything merging together in the biggest black hole ever and then erupting into being over and over again. Praise chaos!"

40 years after its creation, MOß GARTEN – Sekvensstyrd 1981–1986 arrives as a compelling double vinyl LP, diving deep into the early Swedish DIY electronic scene. Inspired by pioneers such as Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, John Foxx, and The Human League, Mikael Isaksson developed a distinct sound situated between minimal electronics, industrial, synth wave, and experimental sound art. At its core was the sequencer: pulsing, programmed structures forming the backbone of dense, often hypnotic compositions.

Working initially with his cousin Jan or friend Thomas and later evolving into a largely one-man project, recordings were made on cassette tapes and in improvised studios—often under time pressure, frequently recorded and mixed within just a few hours. These very limitations gave the tracks their raw and immediate character. Pieces like “Moderna Kvinnor,” “Soon Soon,” “Ensam,” and “Music From The Border” exemplify the uncompromising, sequence-driven (“sekvensstyrd”) approach that defined this era.

Using an arsenal of analog synthesizers, early sequencers, and drum machines, the project created music that feels at once cold, mechanical, and deeply emotional. Sekvenssytrd 1981–1986 is more than a collection of archival recordings—it is a vivid document of a time when electronic music was conceived as a radical and deeply personal form of expression.

Originally released in 2003, With A Heartbeat brings together Pharoah Sanders, Bill Laswell and Graham Haynes in a collaboration that remains as elusive as it is forward-thinking. Now reissued by Glossy Mistakes, the album receives its first official vinyl edition, remastered and available both in standard black and a limited burgundy pressing.

At the core of the record lies an unusual but striking element: the steady pulse of a human heartbeat. Rather than a conceptual gesture, it becomes the foundation of the music itself-treated as a deep, bass-like rhythm that anchors the entire album. Around it, Laswell builds his unmistakable sonic world, drawing from dub techniques where basslines expand, dissolve, and re-emerge, and where space becomes as important as sound.
Across its extended compositions, the album unfolds slowly and deliberately. Layers of electric sitar, guitar, keyboards and subtle percussion drift in and out, creating a fluid, almost tidal movement. The heartbeat remains present throughout, grounding even the most abstract passages in something physical and immediate.

At the center stands Sanders' saxophone-searching, expansive, and deeply spiritual. His playing moves freely across the structures, at times echoing the lineage of John Coltrane, while also reaching beyond it. Alongside him, Haynes adds a complementary voice, weaving through the shifting textures.

The result is a work that resists easy definition: part spiritual jazz, part future-facing experiment, shaped by dub's sense of space and transformation. Meditative, immersive, and deeply rhythmic, With A Heartbeat unfolds like a living organism-guided not by fixed tempo, but by the pulse of life itself.
With this release, Glossy Mistakes continues its work of bringing essential and forward-thinking recordings into new formats, preserving their depth while opening them to new listeners.

For our 30th anniversary, we reissue three absolute minimal techno statements by Robert Hood. These tracks define the birth of minimal techno — reduced to rhythm, pressure and repetition. No ornament. No compromise. Just structure, tension and movement. Originally released on Logistic Records, they remain as powerful and modern today as they were in the early 90s. Functional. Spiritual. Underground.

2026 Repress

Initially conceived as a short-run cassette for Altered States Tapes, YL Hooi's nameless collection of textural apparitions oscillate between icy DIY minimalism, FX-drenched atmospherics and nang chamber dub. A ghost-like transmission, Hooi's voice serves to anchor an array of sonic abstractions and impressionistic melodic motifs as a sense of purgatorial ambience dominates throughout. Co-produced with alleged fellow Kallista Kult member Tarquin Manek (LST, M. Quake), Untitled's ultimate sensation is its halfway state, as if caught between worlds.

The album's final form speaks of its origins, recorded intermittently over a two year period (2017-2019). The extended time passage seeps into the song structures, spiralling and mutating from the same centre - the elegiac pulse of opener 'Title' presages the hymnal lilt of 'Straight Thru', before birthing the inverted bossa nova of 'W/O Love'. The result is a constantly shifting tableaux of shared liminal spaces. These songs seemingly emerge in plumes of smoke, magician's tricks conjured from the ether. It's a vision that ossifies at Untitled's midpoint with a cover of Love Joys' 'Stranger', the lovers rock original morphed into the transportive intimacy of Hooi's own hazy inner space, a totem of the LP's amorphous and ultimately sensuous qualities.

The sound from both down under and way out there in subspace, Untitled is an inspired masterstroke of experimental mystics. This 2021 Efficient Space edition is remastered and robed in new artwork that honours the Melbourne-based earth dragon's Chinese and Russian heritage.

MEGAPTERA, the scientific name of the humpback whale, is also the title of the new album by French producer and composer Rone.


Born from an ambitious film project, the record was largely composed at sea, off the coasts of Brittany and Réunion Island, using a modular synthesizer and melodic sketches developed for an almost unreal proposition: attempting to resonate with whales through music.


Following Room With a View—a soundtrack to a performance created with the alternative dance company La Horde, exploring collapse and rebirth—Rone continues his investigation into new imaginaries. If that earlier work emerged from reflections on ecological, social, and technological tipping points, MEGAPTERA marks a shift: away from the city, toward the sea.


Gradually, he moved away from performance toward a more craft-based approach, extending his practice beyond the studio into a wider space of listening, exchange, and fieldwork. Early footage of sailors broadcasting his work into open water—seemingly answered by whale presence—circulated online, generating fascination, but also a growing unease for the artist regarding what these projections might imply.


This tension became the starting point for a longer period of field experimentation, developed in dialogue with scientists, environmentalists, sailors, and bioacousticians. The resulting 15-track album reflects this open-ended inquiry — not only into whether human-made sound can reach whales, but also into how this process can shape a new form of electronic music, and open it towards new deep-sea soundscapes.


Rather than seeking imitation, Rone works with reduction. Drawing on research into cetacean vocalisation, he pares back his language—focusing on frequency bands, repetition, and suspended structures. Minimalism appears less as reference than as natural convergence.

Archival release from Lagoss, the collaborative project between Discrepant founder Gonçalo F. Cardoso (Gonzo, Visions Congo, Papillon, Prophetas) and Tenerife-based electronic producers Tupperwear (Mladen Kurajica and Dani Tupper).

Tenerife Ghost Healing Mix ’78 draws on material originally recorded in 2020, these recordings capture an early phase of Lagoss’ sound: a humid, proto-cyber tropical zone where synthetic textures, degraded rhythms and softened melodic fragments drift into each other. Rather than foregrounding narrative or structure, the material leans into ambient saturation — layers accumulating slowly, colours bleeding, signals slightly overdriven and left unresolved.

Sonically, the mix occupies a proto-cyber tropical zone—humid, blurred, and gently unstable. Layers of noise, softened rhythms, and synthetic textures accumulate into a form of ambient saturation, where density replaces direction and repetition becomes restorative rather than functional. The approach remains rough, unhinged and no-frills: raw signal paths, little correction, and a willingness to let things run slightly out of control.

Assembled from outtakes, alternate versions and early sketches, the tape favours atmosphere over structure, presenting the material in a slower, more inward-facing state than earlier Lagoss releases. It functions less as a remix than as a refracted memory of the original sessions, viewed through time, heat, signal decay—and left deliberately unfinished.

There are records that follow the rules, and others that rewrite them in real time. With O R G A S M A N I A, Byron The Aquarius returns to Skylax with a deeper, freer and more unpredictable statement — where jazz instinct meets raw machine funk, and structure dissolves into pure feeling. Finally, O R G A S M A N I A stands as the centerpiece — hypnotic, sensual and immersive, locking into a deep repetitive groove while evolving in subtle layers, a late-night body experience guided by a sharp musical mind. Across four tracks, Byron The Aquarius confirms his unique position between jazz musician, house producer and sonic storyteller, with a trajectory spanning Sound Signature, Axis, Eglo, Apron and Shall Not Fade, continuing to resonate from Detroit to Berlin and beyond. The Mantecas represent one of the finest concentrations of experience and talent in Latin and Jazz music ever to be based in the UK. A pure uplifting Latin Jazz music celebration, limited edition 250 copies: not-to-be-missed, recorded at different locations in London during 2025/26 "On their fabulous fourth album, The Mantecas (formerly Manteca) have moved the needle all the way in the direction of Latin jazz (or jazz latino). In their early years, the London-based eight-piece played a mix of salsa, Cuban timba, boogaloo, Latin funk and descarga (jazzy, improvised Latin jam session), with plenty of vocals, strictly geared for the dance floor. Along the way, the jazz-descarga aspect emerged as a stronger force, though all sorts of other ingredients, from afrobeat to Afro-Cuban, cumbia to samba, ebbed and flowed throughout. Although there's nothing new with the concept of doing an album of instrumental Latin tracks in a jazz mode that's still dance-friendly (Machito, Sabú Martínez, Tito Puente and Tito Rodríguez all waxed jazz latino albums like that long ago), what's new here is The Mantecas' very fresh and confident interpretation of the idiom. And while they share something in common with the accessible, danceable Latinized soul jazz of someone like Mongo Santamaría or Willie Bobo, as well as the Afro-Cubop roots of Chano Pozo, they also bring to mind the more jazz-oriented improvisational legacy of Pozo's amigo Dizzy Gillespie, which is reflected in The Mantecas' explorations of a handful of 20th Century modern jazz giants as they rework timeless classics by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Oliver Nelson and Wayne Shorter. For this release, all seven tracks are essentially Latin renditions of jazz standards or are Latin jazz originals. The shape-shifting sound of Low End Activist continues to pivot around an axis of bassweight pressure with the launch of their self-titled label – the appropriate vessel to take them deeper into sci-fi scented sonics with an ‘ardcore swagger. Previous drops on Sneaker Social Club and Seagrave have seen the shadowy technician mangling grime, jungle and dubstep tropes with all the grit and flair of the most visionary sample sorcerers. At times, they’ve built their beatscapes up around fierce MC spots from such legends as Flowdan and Trim, but while there’s more to come on the vocal tip for the LEA series, this first installment works in a strictly instrumental fashion.

Hi-tech breakbeat de/re-construction is the focus across all three tracks on LEA001, with atmospheres so densely rendered you can feel them sticking to your skin like the sweat of a well-slicked basement session. ‘Engineers Origins’ emits pure darkcore energy and icy stabs of future-shock industrialism, while ‘Look Up’ shivers with off-key orchestrations. ‘Probability 1’ gets deep in the break edit and throws in an iconic low end rumble that should spark intense reveries amongst anyone with even a passing appreciation for bass. Like the most potent foundational jungle, all three tracks swerve regimented structure in favour of moody exploration around a suite of themes and sounds, slipping time in style and setting up the LEA series for further intense sonic treatments to come.

Strut Records proudly presents the first definitive expanded reissue of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Sun Ra’s 1977 session recorded at the Bluebird in Bloomington, Indiana, presented across three Vinyl LPs or as a two CD set.

The Arkestra were at the peak of their powers in 1977, releasing revered albums like The Soul Vibration Of Man and My Favorite Things with Arkestra regulars Marshall Allen, Danny Ray Thompson, Michael Ray and Luqman Ali among the core musicians. Ra also continued his touring in Europe with historic gigs in Italy. During this period, Arkestra live performances were often loosely structured into thematic blocks that moved from reflections on jazz history to cosmic “space narrative” sections featuring collective chants, extended Africa/Egypt-inspired grooves and selections from the Great American Songbook. This recording brings in all of these features with re-imagined versions of standards like ‘Take The “A” Train’, ‘St. Louis Blues’ and title track ‘Over The Rainbow’ alongside rarely recorded Ra compositions like ‘Make Another Mistake’ and ‘Amen Meni Many Amens’. Ra conducted improvisations to guide the listener seamlessly from one musical scene to the next. As Sun Ra himself described it: “It’s like a party—we enjoy ourselves and everybody’s invited to enjoy it with us.”

The original version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow assembled a handful of clearly delineated tracks drawn from the flow of two complete concert recordings, re-arranged out of sequence. Strut’s new edition restores previously excised material and preserves more of the natural transitions between pieces, offering a fuller glimpse into the distinctive aesthetic of Sun Ra and his Arkestra.

This definitive reissue is pressed across two CDs, or three vinyl LPs housed in a triple gatefold sleeve, newly remastered by Technology Works from the original source tapes and features extensive new liner notes by Chris Cutler alongside video stills from the original concert.

Alt Dub label head Federsen links with Belgrade’s Estray for a deep, percussive exploration of dub house—where analogue weight meets globally-rooted rhythm and hypnotic late-night energy.

A key figure within Eastern Europe’s electronic landscape, Estray has spent over a decade shaping a sound that travels far beyond his home base. With releases on Rebellion, Neptune Discs, Sol Selectas, Akumandra and Buddha Bar, alongside an extensive international DJ presence, his output reflects a balance of cultural depth and dancefloor functionality.

His productions draw on a wide palette of influences, fusing African and Latin rhythmic structures with rolling, dub-informed low-end. Intricate drum programming and fluid groove design sit at the core, while his basslines—heavy, warm and propulsive—remain a defining signature. Federsen, known for releases on Echospace Detroit, Grayscale, Synchrophone, Lempuyang and Avant Roots, continues to refine a sound rooted in analogue process, spatial detail and textural precision. His work leans into restraint, allowing depth and subtle modulation to drive momentum.

Recorded at Devon Analogue Studios, the pair’s collaboration unfolds across four tracks built on dense sub frequencies, shifting percussion and evolving atmospheres. Each piece is carefully structured yet organic, moving between stripped-back dub frameworks and more rhythmically charged passages.

The result is a cohesive body of work that sits comfortably within the dub house tradition while introducing a broader, multicultural rhythmic language—equally suited to immersive listening and deep dancefloor moments.

Originally self-released in 2023, Stella Kola, the debut album from Beverly Ketch (Jow Jow, Weeping Bong Band) and Robert Thomas (Sunburned Hand of the Man, Dalthom), now returns in a renewed edition—bringing wider attention to a record that already felt like a quietly essential artifact from the moment it first appeared.

Given the pair’s respective roots—and the presence of collaborators drawn from across the Northeast experimental underground—one might expect “a brutal blast of acid swirl.” Instead, what emerges is something far more unexpected. The album is “steeped, not in noise and dissonance, but in the fragrant, captivating folk of Linda Perhacs, Judee Sill, Karen Dalton, and Bridget St John.”

From the opening moments, especially on “Rosa,” the record reveals its core sensibility: “a ballad that digs deep into the psychedelic-folk tradition until it takes root in a freshly sporous permaculture.” What follows is a set of songs that feel both carefully assembled and organically grown—delicate structures held together by a wide circle of contributing musicians, including Wednesday Knudsen (flute), P.G. Six (harp, guitars, keys), Gary War (synth), Jen Gellineau (viola, violin), Willie Lane, L. Gray, and others.

Rather than functioning as studio additions, these collaborators form a genuine collective presence. “The family affair feeds into the album’s charms,” and the feeling is unmistakably communal. Like many of the ‘60s folk records it echoes, Stella Kola carries “the feeling of community and camaraderie” at its core, shaping a warmth that runs through the entire release.

The album’s emotional palette leans toward a quiet, persistent melancholy: “the best records from that era also carried with them an inherent sadness and Stella Kola’s songs wash over the listener with a beautiful woe.” Its sound edges into the terrain of Fairport Convention and Pentangle, with references to “Beggar’s, Kings, Dark Damsels, and Tarot,” yet never settles into revivalism. Instead, Ketch and Thomas extend the tradition outward, refracting it through their own distinctly American, underground language.

As one early description of the album notes, “the masterful restraint of ‘Rosa’ and the rest of Stella Kola’s shimmering debut evokes Anne Briggs, C.O.B., Pentangle and similar ancestors that knew the best way to honor traditions was to widen the heritage even further.”

Even among a prolific and unpredictable network of underground musicians, Stella Kola stands apart. “It’s early in the year, but it’s hard to see an album, especially a debut, capturing the heart as hard as this one.” With its return in reissue form, the album reasserts itself not just as a hidden gem, but as an essential document of contemporary folk experimentation—an intimate, collective work that continues to unfold with time.

After a period orbiting singles and the release of her debut LP “Solid Space” on Topo 2 at the end of 2025, Mor Elian snaps back to the dancefloor with her first vinyl outing on Fever AM since 2022.

Built in Waves distills and extends her language of club mechanics, tightly coiled percussive structures cut with high definition sound design. The EP marks a return to the stripped, pressure focused approach she carved out early on, now refined and retooled with a sharper sense of space, tension and propulsion.

SCOTTISH TRUMPETER MALCOLM STRACHAN RETURNS WITH HIS MOST UPLIFTING AND GROOVE-DRIVEN ALBUM YET – “LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE” On Look On The Bright Side, Malcolm Strachan sounds more open than ever. His third solo album moves effortlessly between soul-jazz, Latin grooves and Afrobeat touches, anchored by the warm, cinematic feel of 1970s jazz but driven by a clear sense of forward motion. Released on 22 May 2026 via Haggis Records, the album sees Strachan stepping further into his role as a composer and bandleader, drawing together the threads of a career spanning more than two decades at the heart of the UK’s jazz, funk and soul scene. Where his debut About Time (2020) channelled the spirit of classic Blue Note recordings and Point Of No Return (2023) leaned into the groove-heavy CTI era, Look On The Bright Side feels broader in scope – still rooted in groove, but more open to outside influences and a more consciously uplifting tone. “I wanted the music to feel upbeat and positive,” says Strachan. “I start at the piano, working through chord ideas until I find something that feels right. Once the harmony is there, the melodies tend to come naturally.” That approach gives the album its fluidity, with tracks evolving from feel as much as structure and arrangements that leave room for interplay and movement.

Ryo Fukui, who passed away in 2016 after releasing only five albums, recorded this fourth work in 1999. Featuring bassist Lyle Atkinson and drummer Leroy Williams—the longtime rhythm section of Barry Harris this New York-recorded album captures the full appeal of Fukui as a bebop pianist. Centered around standards, the track selection, structure, and of course the performances all radiate intent and vitality. His assured and weighty touch, the firm yet elastic swing, and the emotion and lyricism that permeate his dynamic phrasing everything here conveys Fukui’s breath, will, and presence in vivid form. The re-performance of his signature piece “Mellow Dream” is also a welcome highlight.

PNØ is the duo project of experimental vocalist Agnes Hvizdalek and techno innovator Jakob Schneidewind on electronics. They combine minimalistic musical structures with organic improvisations, pure vocal sounds with drum machines, synthesizers and effects
that trigger and manipulate each other’s output. Their vision for the future of music makes them explore crossing points between experimental and electronic dance music. Their first album, «Zakeri», was released in 2015. Since then, they have performed, among others, at ORF Musikprotokoll, Wiener Festwochen, Jazzwerkstatt Wien, Ottosonics, and de/semble.
The album «Hypatia» will be released on June 26th by Palazzo Recordings.

Zuerst das Wichtigste: Ja, Your Day Will Come an, das zweite Album von Chanel Beads trägt denselben Namen wie sein Debüt aus dem Jahr 2024. Aber es handelt sich um ein völlig neues Werk, nicht um einen zweiten Teil oder eine Neuauflage. Der Titel des neuen Albums ist derselbe wie der des Vorgängers - eine perfekte Zusammenfassung der Zweideutigkeit von Chanel Beads: zu gleichen Teilen ein augenzwinkernder Scherz und eine zutiefst ernste Aussage. Während sich die Songs entwickelten, entdeckte Lavers, dass der Satz eine tiefere Nuance hatte und eine Spannung zwischen Gewissheit und Zweifel hervorrief, die seine Psyche beschäftigte. Wird dein Tag kommen? Wie wird er sein? Wie kannst du dir sicher sein? Während er das Album schrieb, hatten Lavers' Gedanken mehr Raum, um in seinem Kopf herumzuschwirren und sich zu verdrehen, und er fühlte sich oft abgestumpft von einer Welt, die sich absurd grausam anfühlen kann. Die zweite Inkarnation von Your Day Will Come dokumentiert eine klangliche Verschiebung und Weiterentwicklung des Chanel-Beads-Sounds. Dieses Mal ist alles stärker geschichtet, mit mehr eigenständigen Parts und Mitwirkenden. Es entstand in seinem kleinen, spärlich eingerichteten Studio in Brooklyn, wo die Lautsprecher so nah an seinem Gesicht standen, dass er bei jedem Schlag der Bassdrum die Luftwelle spüren konnte. Geiger Zachary Paul tritt präsenter in Erscheinung, während Lavers weiterhin mit der semiotischen Bedeutung von Plug-ins spielt. Auch die ätherische Stimme von Maya McGrory ist erneut auf dem Album zu hören; sie schrieb zudem am majestätischen ,Silver Cup" mit. Die 14 Songs sind ausgearbeiteter und strukturierter - Ergebnis eines kollaborativeren Ansatzes, der Spontaneität und Unvollkommenheit bewusst zulässt. Er folgt der Devise "Wenn es funktioniert, lass es so", nimmt einfach mit dem Mikrofon auf, das gerade zur Hand ist, und baut den Song auf dieser Aufnahme auf. Aus lockeren Treffen ergaben sich Beiträge von Freund*innen wie Tchad Cousins (Urika's Bedroom), Mari Maurice (More Eaze), Anastasia Coope und Bella Litsa. "Dust in the Wind" entstand gemeinsam mit Isaac Eiger von Strange Ranger und Threshold und markiert die erste Co-Autorenschaft außerhalb des Kerntrios aus Lavers, McGrory und Paul. Lavers' fragmentierte Texte sind voller offener Fragen. Er war besonders von der Koexistenz von Nihilismus und Liebe eingenommen und sagte: "Es fühlt sich an, als müsste das eine das andere auslöschen, aber das tut es nicht." Emotionale Sublimierung steht im Mittelpunkt von Chanel Beads, als könne man etwas so fest umklammern, dass es transzendent wird. Your Day Will Come nutzt Traumlogik, um sich mit Liminalität und prekären Erinnerungen auseinanderzusetzen. Es ist geprägt von den Schatten bestimmter Verluste, aber auch davon, wie man sich selbst heimsuchen kann, indem man in alte Gewohnheiten zurückfällt.
