Since furthering his legacy by creating a hugely successful edits series, Soopasoul returns to one of the biggest cuts from his now legendary Jalapeno debut album Twin Stix - Brand Nu. The 142 mixes are the first versions of this now classic cut that were recorded and have a raw funk grit that became a little more polished for the album release version. Available in full vocal and instrumental versions, these alternative mixes showcase all the reasons why Soopasoul is a mainstay of funk & soul charts worldwide.

Soopasoul is a legendary name inthe UK funk scene. Originally known as a producer in electronic music circles, Danny Soopasoul stuck gold one day, putting together a band to record in a session where everything was played in live and loops and plug-ins were dropped in favour of real instruments and talented players. The final piece in the puzzle was realised when he stumbled upon on a local horn section so steeped in tradition and quality that it was immediately obvious they would bring the final magical ingredient to the table. Once they were brought in, the instant classic LP 'Twin Stix' was born.

Pleas for 7"vinyl singles from this revered album have been a constant since it's release. However calls for the album to make it's debut on vinyl too have gone unheard until now. This floor-shuffling, hip-swaying, jazz funk party monster is packed with funky beats and some seriously hefty signature brass action. Add the sassy vocals from ladies like Dionne Charles (Record Kicks /Tru Thoughts) and Sitzka, and you're guaranteed to discover that this gem of an album will be enjoyed for the foreseeable future.

'A Mad Wild Beat' does exactly what it says on tin. Kicking things off with a tough break that knocks so delightfully hard, this energetic vibe moves swiftly into a lead sax being given the freedom front and centre to flow over tight horn stabs, guitar licks, percussion and a monster of a bassline.

But it doesn't stop there. 'Swing Down' switches things up on the flip, with it's up-tempo feel-good rare groove. The band are in full swing here, deftly providing the playful call-and-response to the sexy call-to-action found in the lyrics, all skilfully delivered with the intention to get the dancefloor into the right mood to party all night long.

The label are marking the occasion with the release of a 3LP compilation featuring some of label boss Trevor Mac's favourite dancefloor gems from across the years. From a humble start in a basement recording studio on Holloway Road to a quarter century anniversary celebrated from their Brighton offices – Jalapeno Records has been an indie label with a mission - to bring the funk to the masses. Along the way that has taken in so many genres from chill to house, gospel to soul, breaks to drum & bass but it has all had a common thread running through it - the funk. "Twenty Five years means there are too many artists to list and this album is not supposed to be a Greatest Hits. We did that on the 20th anniversary. DJ Oonops presents Volume 2 of his extensive compilation covering genres from Dub, Jazz, Funk, Soul to Beats and Hip Hop featuring pretty well known artists as well as zooming newcomers. He spent more than one year to select artists from around the globe who reflect the sounds of his "Oonops Drops" broadcast on Brooklyn Radio (NYC).

Be that jazzy beats or virtuoso live jazz drums, keys and guitars from Japan by Kazumi Kaneda, RF and 45 a.k.a. Swing-O, a first-time- on-vinyl dub remix by Great Britain's Coldcut or a brass cover version of Rihanna's "Stay" by Sly5thAve out of the US. Most of the tracks are exclusives or first time available on vinyl for this compilation, like the song "Measly Peace" by Magic In Trees out of Nashville, German beatmaker Twit One with an ill Jazz instrumental or London based rapper and singer Amy Tru featuring Nubya Garcia.

Also you gonna hear a unique and rump-shaking cover version of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" by T Bird & The Breaks, John Turell's powervoice over some heavy beats by Soopasoul, Kinny with a catchy tune, Igor Zhukovsky from The Soul Surfers & MRR Drumetrics with an exclusive, pumping psychedelic drum track and Schemes from Montreal who take all the credits at the moment from the web by Vice, Okayplayer, Music Is My Sanctuary and many more. For the artwork Oonops collaborated once again with San Francisco based artist Lindsey Kustusch who mirrored the atmosphere of New York City on point with her oil painted artwork.
