Am 21. Mai veröffentlicht Allison Russell ihr Solodebüt ”Outside Child” (produziert von Dan Knobler) auf Fantasy Records. Russell, Dichterin, Sängerin, Songwriterin, Multi-Instrumentalistin und Mitbegründerin der Bands Our Native Daughters und Birds of Chicago, offenbart auf dem Album ihre Jugend in allen Einzelheiten. Zur ersten Single Nightflyer gibt es ein unterstützendes Musikvideo, bei dem Silvia Grav Regie führte.
Die Platte enthält Beiträge von vielen der künstlerischen Familienmitglieder, die sie dort gefunden hat, darunter Yola, Erin Rae, The McCrary Sisters, Ruth Moody, Produzent Dan Knobler, Jamie Dick, Joe Pisapia und ihr Partner JT Nero. ”Es ging einfach darum, diese Songs auf die ehrlichste Art und Weise zum Leben und Atmen zu bringen”, sagt Russell. ”Wir haben gelacht, wir haben geweint. Hailing from Barcelona, Silvia Konstance and Viktor L.Crux (a collaborator of Nurse With Wound and J.Arbeit from Einstürzende Neubauten) developed during the last years a unique music style recognized as "Tribal Wave".

Mixing synth bassline arpeggios and live percussions, noises and congas, industrialism and tribalism, Italian and Spanish, Dame Area are running across the same path and breathing the same air of the EBM/Industrial driven Diseño Corbusier or the drum compositions of Roberto De Simone.

Starting to play live and releasing their music in 2018 for their own label and venue Maja Roja (with the support of fans like Julian Cope and Yamatsuka Eye), their incessant touring schedule has already seen them play all over Europe in the past couple of years. Since 2019 they also play live as a trio with Jesse Webb from Gnod/Anthroprophh at the drums/percussion.

Sometimes a record comes along that is a wonderful anomaly that really is all about the music. Silver Leaf recently appeared on the radar via obscuro diggers on both sides of the Atlantic and landed with a Hey!
What is known about Silver Leaf, beyond that it was a short-lived mid-80s project out of Cincinnati, Ohio, is that it features ex-Zephyr keyboardist John Faris, working alongside the mysterious vocalist Silvia Leaf.
The difference between the blues and occasional psychedelic rock of early 70s Boulder, Colorado's Zephyr and the lo-fi recordings of Silver Leaf are striking, but in Hey! and Can We Rebuild Our City?, the power of the ballad and strong playing of John, is wrapped in mid-80s, mid-States lo fi heaven.
Whether a non-de-plume, Ms Leaf's searing, innocent vocals fly above John's keys and programming. Hey!'s repetitive exhalations act like a mantra to a party, while tom's chime in accompaniment. Here it comes!
Can We Rebuild Our City? starts with Faris' forlorn intro before crashing percussion heads to some kind of wonderful, as Leaf questions a calls to hearts.
Releasing just 3 singles, Silver Leaf's music is unique and essential, an experience and a delight to present.

For the new Arma release Ena explores different, distinct facets of his sound across three productions. “Pale” distills his vision of techno as a minimalist, repetitive construct. Working around non-standard time signatures, he creates a densely woven lattice of percussive pulses, which cut a polyrhythmic path through nightmarish sheets of noise. “Secondary Color” uses a broader palette that opens the Ena sound up to the light,,, “Wired” heads further away from the grid in pursuit of sound design exploration, as a rack of pipes and chambers strike, boom and chime against artful distortion and cavernous reverb. While Ena has historically been hesitant about remixes of his material, he warmed to the idea of long-time Arma friend JASSS reworking “Wired”. Taking the track into her own fiercely individual sound world, she uses the harmonic tonality of the original as a jump-off point for an epic, emotionally forthright chiller loaded with coldwave bombast, trap hats and Silvia’ own voice. Coming from entirely different angles of approach, Ena and JASSS are bound together by their fearless individuality. You can sense the slithers of pre-existing music somewhere in their constructions, but such familiarities are no more than faint echoes of places they passed through on their way to somewhere new.

On ‘Ways Of Seeing’ Konx-om-Pax has switched up the mood and hit gold. He has made an album that is filled with joy and sunshine, saturated with the classic feel of Berlin Techno.

Tom Scholefield has moved on from the dark ambient and brittle rave of the first two Konx-om-Pax albums, which were a reflection of his hometown Glasgow's electronic music scenes. After a recent move to Berlin, the textures of Glasgow's musical strains have fused into an accessible and friendly mix of poppy melodic electronica built from a stricter 'less is more' sound pallete, closer in spirit to the music of his adopted city. It is also a record which was made in opposition to recent music he has been hearing, in particular the troubled, dark and noisy experimental music coming out of Berlin. Tom wanted to focus on more joyful qualities, making this a record imbued with warmth and happiness, a panacea to the darkness and disorientation all around in 2019.

Having a social scene full of producers has also influenced the album. The opening track 'LA Melody' came from staying with Ross Birchard (Hudson Mohawke) at his house in LA, hanging out in the glorious sunshine with him and Lunice working on tracks.
"Initially Ross asked me to write some melodies to use in a project he was producing, but I ended up liking it so much I decided to keep the riff. I generally write music alone, but being around other producers gave me a certain excited energy that reminded me of after-parties back in Glasgow where Ross and myself spent our youth together. Spending time in Clark's studio also helped me improve my workflow and sequencing the album by seeing the way he does things". On 'Säule Acid' he collaborates with Silvia Kastel and in 'I’m For Real' the vocals of Glaswegian DJ/producer Nightwave filter around the track.

Mark Is Releasing A New Ep Called Integriert Euch Nicht. It Features Two Tracks Taken From His Berghain Debut And A Freshly-composed Drum & Bass Missile. 'fucking Sick Of Myself Since Day One (hot Desk Mix)' And 'hats Off To Herr. F' Were First Performed At Mark's 2018 Berghain Live Set During Ostgut Ton Nacht. The Former Is A Breakcore-adjacent Call To Arms For The Self-loathing, The Latter An Antarctic Shiver Of Predator- Mode Idm-illektro. 'integriert Euch Nicht (commercial Jump Up Mix)' Features Singing From Blackest Ever Black Alum Silvia Kastel. Mark Wrote The Vocal Parts With Sine Waves Before Kastel Recorded Each Tone Individually, Creating Microtonal Clusters In The Vein Of Luigi Nono. The Sax-like Sounds Are Wilted Woman Playing The Aerophone, An Electronic Woodwind Instrument. Otherwise, It's Mark's Most Deliberately Straight Ahead Drum & Bass Track To Date, Trading The Beat Science Of Former Releases For A Stubbornly Boneheaded Approach In Line With The Title's Message. Integriert Euch Nicht Is Something Of A Spiritual Successor To Last Year's Tech/gentrification/real- Estate-investment Themed Integrier Dich Du Yuppie And A Ruffer, More Floor-focussed Elaboration Of The Techniques Tested On His Unterton Debut The Least Likely Event Will Occur In The Long Run. Under His Klon Dump Alias, Mark Has Also Previously Released A Psych-mnml Double Ep Called Klon Dump Vs. The Open Air On A Colourful Storm And Two Rooms, A Tape Of Sound Art Improv And Knackered Pop-strumentals On Bristol-based Imprint Nocorner. When Not Playing Solo, Mark Also Accompanies Blackest Ever Black's Carla Dal Forno On Live Electronics.

Originally self-released as a 7'' in 1982, Plath release is definitely one of the obscure gems of the Italian underground. TIP!
Plath were a duo from Prato, formed in 1982 by Silvia Innocenti (voice, bass guitar) and Fabrizio Lucarini (synth, drum machine). Plath were influenced by Throbbing Gristle and early Cabaret Voltaire works, moving in between two essential thematic actions: first, the constant search of a sound which aims to reflect the current reality as they were interpretating it and, second, the constant exposure of their anarchist ideological thinking against the established political and social system.

After about 30 years as Techno/House/Synth DJ, Borft now release Joakims debut album. You can hear that he really knows what it takes to get your crowd crazy.
