Define: Global Bass Culture. What initially started out as a remix request from the South African Sneja Recordings label for a tune written by Colombian artist Juan Diego Pedroza a.k.a. Iam JDP ended up as the second limited edition vinyl release on the German underground label Freebreakz.FWD. Embracing influences from Chicago's Footwork x Juke sound as well as UK Bass Music, IDM and other electronic subcultures Sascha Müller and baze.djunkiii deliver a sparse, tense and wildly hypnotic take on the 160 bpm freeform movement, continously fusing and layering intermingling rhythmic patterns with ethereal vocal snippets, Trap- and Drill-infused hi-hats, an ever floating minimalist synth motif and deadly low end attacks for some of the most advanced dancefloors out there. This is crime scene music. Mastered by Frederic Stader.

With an intrigue for a particular niche of old UK hardcore which takes cues from Sheffield bleep ambience, heady rave futurism and soft, almost new age synth pads, Blank Mind presents ‘Lost Paradise: Blissed Out Hardcore 91-94’. Though the records gathered for the compilation span a short three-year period and bridge the gap between scenes, the collection manages to find a sweet spot where the influence of Warp’s Artificial Intelligence, back room chill out sonics and the nascent jungle boom meet with elements of Italian piano house and slower breakbeat cuts.

Opting to focus on atmosphere to highlight shared connections; in this case the duality of often serene and calming soundscapes with frenzied breaks and bass (see Hedgehog Affair’s ‘Parameters’ and Luxury’s ‘Twirl’ respectively); Lost Paradise is a formidable collection of tracks plucked from a thriving time for British dance music experimentation. The general themes of ascension and escapism channelled through digital samplers are also inescapably linked to a turbulent time in politics, beginning in the post-Thatcher years and culminating in the year the harshest anti-rave Criminal Justice Act came into force.

Initially building the compilation around DJ Mayhem’s track ‘Inesse’, Blank Mind label founder Sam Purcell and Amsterdam based producer Tammo Hesselink began a process of swapping favourites and deep cuts to spread across this 2x12” doublepack. The compilation avoids any obvious centrepieces through masterful sequencing, allowing for moments of refrain and tempo changes in a way that helps add to their overall vision of what this music is and can be; “We wanted to frame hardcore in a different light, looking at this idea of ecstasy through the traditional meaning of the word and exploring that symbolism”. By drawing from what some might consider the softer edges of the movement, the pair offer a look into the relevance of these tracks in the contemporary era, where the past years have seen both an explosion in popularity of old ambient/new-age music and a certified jungle revival.

Inspired by "slow and quiet life on the southern coasts of England", the debut from CVOIA - a new collaboration between producers and Captured Visions label founders Adam O'Hara and Tom Parker - offers gorgeously lolloping, lazy beats and expansive, cinematic orchestration. There's the brittle, slow motion breakbeats and woozy instrumentation of the duo's original, then remixes from four of their favourite acts: Awakened Souls, Inhmost, Jack Lever and Synkro. All the tracks are about as strenuous as an afternoon on the beach, and equally nourishing, with Synkro's rich, synth-soaked near-ambient mix a dramatic, undisputed highlight. Jack Never's Northern Mix, meanwhile, wouldn't sound out of place nestled somewhere in Mo'Wax's first dozen or so releases. High praise indeed, but much deserved.

Innersoul's The Theory, originally released in 1996, has long been revered in the underground hip-hop community, and now it's getting a well-deserved reissue on limited edition vinyl with a Japanese obi-strip. The standout track, 'It's The Right Time', which was also released as a 12" single, captures the essence of the era, with its jazz and soul samples evoking the unmistakable East Coast underground vibe of the 90s. The album is full of lighthearted rap exchanges and soulful beats that are quintessential of the time. This reissue also includes bonus tracks, making it an essential pickup for both longtime fans and newcomers to this classic slice of hip-hop history.

Enzo Leep’s latest EP, Concrete Jungle, is an evocative exploration of sound, memory, and raw emotion. Side B is from DJ Monchan and Alfonso Bottone, creates an immersive soundscape ideal for both late-night listening and the club environment.

The critically acclaimed Colours & Light, Project Gemini’s second album, takes on a new life in Deluxe Edition format. Firmly rooted in the mood and melodies of the original album, the Deluxe Edition features an unreleased album track, alternate versions and a whole host of remixes from friends of Project Gemini. To accompany the digital release, Jack Sharp’s (Wolf People/Large Plants) distinctive, distortion-heavy remix of ‘After The Dawn’, and the previously unreleased ‘Darkness Rising’, receive a special 7” pressing.

On the A side, Jack Sharp of the psychedelic, folk rock bands Wolf People and Large Plants, takes on ‘After The Dawn’. Sharp, who featured heavily on Colours & Light, dials up the distortion with this all-consuming, darker shade of a remix. Sucking you down into a wormhole of layered guitar reverberations and Paul’s spiralling, echoed vocals, it’s an intoxicating, driving hit of mind-bending, progressive rock.

Taken from the Colours & Light album recording session, the B side features ‘Darkness Rising’. A previously unreleased, original track that didn’t make it onto the album, Project Gemini leans in on the wah-wah fuzzed guitars, using it as the basis for a sonic brew of synths, percussion and bass-heavy, psychedelic rock synergy.

Phonomena are back and this time joined by Haste on a mission to Andromeda with 4 Hardcore Jungle tracks ready to do damage on the dancefloor.
Kicking off with a remix of Paul Renegade’s Multiverse from London based Jungle veteran Haste that has been floating around on dub for a little while. Taking the tempo of the original up a notch this is the perfect track to start the EP with its Mentasm fuelled mayhem.

Rage and Renegade then drop their first track on wax together with Best Served Cold, taking a sample from a 92 classic then twisting it up with some distorted bass before switching things up as the track progresses. This was made over a bunch of Saturday nights late in 2024 and continues the vibes from the first two records.

At the end of side A there’s some scratch samples for DJs to battle with, pitched to the perfect tempo to use with Hardcore and Jungle.
First up on the flip DJ Rage drops a bass heavy breakbeat workout with Ready To Roll. This was made to contrast with Haste’s remix, a bit more laid back at first but slowly building up to a euphoric tear out towards the end.

Paul Renegade closes out the EP with Dark Carnival, a trip to the underworld with haunted samples and effects that drops into some full on bass, no letting up here with more Hardcore pressure to rattle your speakers!

Lost tracks don’t stay lost forever. Running Back is proud to present the reissue of Aric’s I Love Your Love – a long-forgotten gem from the good-time party days of the early dance era. Originally created in the spirit of celebration and groove, these tracks disappeared into obscurity until a few dedicated DJs and dancers across the globe began bringing them back to life.

When Elado stumbled upon the songs and saw the magic they still held for modern dancefloors, he tracked down Aric – now better known as Dr. Aric, a paediatric public health professional – to bring the music back to the world. What followed was a journey through memory, music, and rediscovery.

The result is here: the original cuts, plus fresh remixes from Elado, Pete Blaker, and Gerd Janson. Nostalgia meets new energy, and the dancefloor wins again.

These are all tracks that were available digitally as part of the artists single sales, and that people wanted us to press on vinyl. This is a very limited album, and like all Kniteforce White, it will never be repressed. It comes on glorious clear blue vinyl.

ARE FROGS ELECTRIC is an absolute killer in the harddance/techno-genre. In the 90s it was huge in the North of France and Belgium to become one of the biggest hits in the 00’s Jumpstyle-era in a version of GREC C (Color Sound was a big hit in Metropolis, The Oh!, Le Captain,….)

This one contains a massive jumpstyle remix by MI37 (the alias of DJ W4cko), a more-commercial remix by Dirrrty Dirk and the original 90s mix.

Sometimes it seems almost effortlessly, how Rampa is not only detecting, but shaping the zeitgeist of clubsounds. The man has done it on various occasions. Not only that. In a no less unerring fashion he
happens to find the best company to vocalize that very state of the art. It once again all comes together here on his „Les Gout“ single. He’s teaming up with Chuala, one of genre-defying’s most distinctive and
bright figures, to lay down „Les Gout“, a track perfectly balancing groove, elegance and irresistible floorappeal. The tune already has become a much requested standout in Rampa’s sets, designated to become a standout in everybody else’s sets over the coming weeks and months.

1021 is the third studio album from Toronto singer/songwriter, Rochelle Jordan. Originally released in 2014, 1021 is the album that forever changed Rochelle’s trajectory as an artist. Filled with moments of honest and pure self expression yet still showing signs of who she has eventually become, the album showcases Rochelle’s resilience as an indie artist, her unapologetic risk taking, and her drive and uncompromising belief in herself. The album’s production is filled with lush, airy, evocative beats, with her vocals drawing comparison to the iconic R&B superstar, Aaliyah - in fact, “Ease Your Mind,” was co-produced with Eric Seats, who produced the iconic Aaliyah track, “Rock the Boat.” Since then, Rochelle has gone on to become a major player in the R&B and dance spaces, most recently working with Kaytranada on his new album. He had discovered my love for soft plush toys and decided to buy me a cute little fluffy Jellycat Ice Cream so when I made the instrumental I felt insecure and unsure about what lyrics to write, so I just decided to sing about what I was currently experiencing in my life. I had been a fan of Shivum Sharma for a while and I had just done a remix for his amazing song '7am', so after establishing a cute lil connection I thought I’d ask him to help me write the song as I was very new to writing lyrics!”

The first release on B.I.T. Productions new ALTERNATIVE label features UK DJ & Producer, Stu Chapman's first Rave House track that then has had a Vinyl release.

The original mix is a Banging rave synth driven track with a hands in the air piano break, wailing vocal and the catchy chorus.

The Retropolis Remix is a breakbeat monster with dirty synth lines and piano melodies.

The Crowdpleasers Remix is an uplifting house stomper with organ melodies with a massive piano break in the middle.

The M-ULATE Remix is a full on piano driven breakbeat rave banger with a 1992 feel.

Can anybody think of anyone in contemporary House hustle more adequate to remix an Uncle Waffles tune than Keinemusik’s Rampa? Exactly. We find him attending to Waffles’ Amapiano anthem Tanzania to accentuate its onomatopoetic tone even more, to straighten it out and elicit all the style and peaktime potential Tanzania’s source material conveys. Out now on vinyl!
