The soundtrack to Marvel's first Team-Based Superhero Shooter is appropriately epic in every way. It’s heavy on guitar solos, symphonic strings, choirs, and powerful percussion, with infectious melodies that make for an endlessly listenable experience, even outside of the game itself.

The album starts with Adriana Figueroa's "Rivals 'Til the End (Main Theme),” which instantly becomes one of the best anime opening themes you’ve never heard of until today. It’s an immediate earworm that leads off a compilation of fifteen incredibly kinetic tracks, including South Korean singer Le'mon's "Fate of Both Worlds," a mid-album pop funk classic in the making.

Teddy Abrams, the Grammy Award winning conductor, composer, and multi-instrumentalist deemed by the New York Times as a “Maestro of the People,” and named Musical America’s 2022 Conductor of the Year, announces Preludes, an album of solo piano works composed and performed by Abrams and produced by Gabriel Kahane and Casey Foubert, via New Amsterdam Records.

Preludes is a contemplative, personal, and playful set of simple solo piano pieces whose recorded sonic identities were developed in collaboration with Gabriel Kahane and Casey Foubert. Kahane and Foubert “identified the personality of each Prelude and found a sound world for every track to match the intrinsic characteristics of the individual works.” The 16 pieces that make up Preludes take inspiration from the canon of classical piano works such as Bach’s Inventions and Bartok’s Mikrokosmos, yet they are imbued with Abrams’ immaculate compositional language and a depth in production uncommon to “classical” works.

Coming on the tail end of Abram’s Grammy Award Winning Piano Concerto (2023), Abrams explains: “After the crazy, frenetic, joyful energy of my Piano Concerto, I wanted to create a piano work that explored a completely different energy and soundscape. While the Piano Concerto is overtly populist, referencing American genres like jazz, funk, and Gospel music, the Preludes are meant to be introspective, intimate, and simple enough for pianists of many skill levels to play in both performance and home settings.

A self-taught drummer, inventor, and sonic experimentalist, Vambe holds a unique place in British music. The creator of his own instrument, the drumgita (pronounced "drumguitar") or string-drum, he aimed to create music that had never been previously made to pursue access to the fourth dimension and forge a radical new musical language - intuitive, polyrhythmic and metaphysical. Drumland Dreamland is deep and haunting; a dense tapestry of layered percussion, time-warped tape loops, and spiralling drumgita figures, all underpinned by hypnotic improvisations from Brazilian pianist Rafael Dos Santos. It is both ecstatic and unsettling, a landmark recording in black British experimental music.

The Gold is inspired by the true story and theories of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery, which saw
the theft of £26 million worth of gold bullion, and the decades-long chain of events that followed. First aired in February 2023, the first series of The Gold garnered 8.7 million viewers for the first episode and was nominated for a BAFTA. Series Two is inspired by theories around what happened to the other half of the gold.

The film also stars Ossie Davis as Jack, a black man who claims to be John F. Kennedy. While the novella of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale and the film revolve around an ancient Egyptian mummy terrorizing a retirement home, Bubba Ho-Tep also deals with the deeper theme of aging, identity, mortality, and existentialism. The film also features a cameo by Reggie Bannister from Coscarelli's Phantasm series. Buford and Jones, along with engineer/producer Seth Manchester of Machines with Magnets (The Body, Model Actriz, Liturgy), have collaborated for nearly two decades, consistently shattering genre boundaries and redefining the role of the studio in the process. God"s World uses innovative sound sampling to create expansive sonics driven by complex rhythms. The resulting album"s infectious grooves are both celebratory and irreverent. "Unsent Letters" - ungeschriebene Briefe: liegengeblieben im Schreibtischwirrwarr oder der "Wenn, dann da-"Schublade bezeugen sie vergangene Lebensphasen, regnerische Nachmittage, Zweifel, Experiment und unfertige Gedankengänge. An den Rändern gekräuselt und angeraut, lange vergessen, kommt irgendwann der Zeitpunkt, an dem wir sie doch wieder wie einen Schatz heben und entdecken: hier gibt es Geschichten zu erzählen. So oder so ähnlich erging es Pete Astor. Der ist Musiker, Autor und Dozent. Er war Frontmann der Bands The Loft und The Weather Prophets auf dem Label Creation Records und schrieb Songs, die den Sound des Labels und das aufkommende Indie-Genre maßgeblich prägten. Seitdem hat er eine langjährige Solokarriere verfolgt und Musik auf verschiedenen Labels wie Matador, Heavenly, Warp, EMI und Fortuna Pop veröffentlicht. Er ist Senior Lecturer in Music an der University of Westminster. Neben umfangreichen Tourneen produziert er auch gemeinsam mit David Sheppard als Ellis Island Sound Platten und veröffentlicht sein Spoken-Word-Elektro-Pop-Projekt The Attendant zusammen mit Ian Button (Go Kart Mozart, Death in Vegas) auf dessen Label Faux Lux. Seit 2017 ist Astor beim angesehenen Label Tapete Records unter Vertrag, das auch Künstler wie Robert Forster, Lloyd Cole und Comet Gain beherbergt - neben vielen anderen großartigen Acts. 2025 ist ein Jahr, in dem Pete Astor seine erste Band The Loft wieder aufleben ließ. Award-winning producer and composer Giorgi Koberidze offers up a head-spinning debut of Georgian modern classical music shot through with 360° electroacoustic textures.

Giorgi Koberidze is an electronic and classical music composer from Georgia. He currently serves as a professor of music at Tbilisi State Conservatoire, as well as at Ilia State University, and the private music school "303 Herz". Giorgi's work is rooted in the Georgian musical tradition, cross-pollinating indigenous instrumentation with electronic and western classical timbres. He recently won first prize in the Tbilisi Conservatoire Composers Awards, and received Georgia's most prestigious cultural gong, the Tsinandali Award.
The Album was premiered in Georgia at the Kutaisi Film Festival, and later showcased at the Tbilisi Film Festival. Working from graphic scores, Giorgi's ensemble includes strings, woodwind and traditional instruments from the Caucasus (doli, chuniri). Fleeting voices, field recordings and skittering percussion converge to paint a storied map of Tbilisi, and its surrounding terrain of forested polyphony and microtonal peaks and crags.

Each listen of the album is projectively rich, like a dizzying series of sonic inkblot images. The piece is designed to be absorbed in the surround sound of darkened movie theatres, conjuring a multiverse of narratives in the half-light of sensory acuity. At home, Giorgi invites listeners to set aside time to experience the record in a dark, comfortable space absent of external stimuli.

Subconsciousology is a full reworking of Dot Allison's 2023's Consciousology, by producer Lomond Campbell, who, as the title suggests, has made it deeper, darker and dancier. Whereas the original album was all ornate avant-garde folk and psychedelic explorations, this new take is as hard-hitting as it is heavenly, as beat-driven as it is beautiful, and crucially it finds Dot re-embracing the electronic music with which she first made her name in One Dove. "I love that Lomond has brought a rich musicality and has created wild universes around the elements he has chosen to retain in the various songs," adds Dot. Between The Seed And The Timber is a cycle of six songs exploring ritual and mystical aspects of the modern era. At times both noir and psychedelic, they evoke a strong sense of nostalgia for a disappearing age. In contrast to industrial music’s dystopian semiotics, Jas Shaw challenges us to hear sounds inspired by machinery, electricity and mechanisation in a new light.

“I made the synth parts for a Swans gig,” says Shaw. “As SMD we’d supported Swans. James was away doing some production but I didn’t want to pass it up, so I offered to open solo. It turned out the gig was sooner than expected so I made all these synth things to do live.”

Shaw put the tracks to one side and forgot about them, only returning to them years later. “You know when you’ve changed as a person and you listen back to something from a different angle? I suddenly could hear what I had been after. It reminded me of experiences I’d had at Swans gigs. I wanted to achieve that energy and charge.”

Dubbing techniques are crucial to the sound of the record. “I set up a few synths on a table and had my mixer running loads of auxes back into the desk so it was all on the edge of feeding back. Then I realised that if I put a mic into the desk I’d have an extra feedback route. I found a setting where I could get it to build when I pointed the mic at the monitors but then turning it away you could put the brakes on the regen.”

Between The Seed And The Timber is Jas Shaw’s inaugural release for the London based, Kindred-affiliated TEETH label. TEETH is rooted in a reverence for texture, space, and sonic decay - amplifying experimental sounds that blend dreamlike melodies with weathered landscapes. Each release informs the next, with every track as vital as the last to complete the whole set.

Orchestrated by Jojo Mathiszig-Lee, founder of London’s Kindred, the label celebrates like-minded talent from the community, providing a platform for transgressing music.

D:Ream are probably best known for their hits Things Can Only Get Better and UR The Best Thing. However, there is so much more than that to discover. They scored two UK Top 10 albums: 1993's D:ream On Vo1 and 1995's World, plus ten Top 40 singles! Things Can Only Get Better was no.1 for four weeks in 1994 then was famously co-opted as the anthem in 1997 by Tony Blair's Labour Party, writing D:Ream into English history; pop, political and otherwise!

The Nicky Newarkers were a short-lived—but now legendary—soul‑dance group from Newark, New Jersey, most active in the mid‑1970s.
