Natty Dread gilt als Bob Marleys bestes Album, die vielleicht beste Reggae-Aufnahme aller Zeiten.

Es war Marleys erstes Album ohne seine ehemaligen Bandkollegen Peter Tosh und Bunny Livingston und das erste, das er als Bob Marley & the Wailers veröffentlichte.
Das hier präsentierte Material definiert, worum es im Reggae ursprünglich ging, mit politischen und sozialen Kommentaren, gemischt mit religiösen Lobgesängen auf Jah.

Bob Marley war ein jamaikanischer Reggae-Sänger, Songschreiber, Musiker und Gitarrist, der internationalen Ruhm und Anerkennung erlangte.
Seine Musik begründete in den 70er Jahren seinen weltweiten Ruf und machte ihn mit mehr als 75 Millionen verkauften Tonträgern zu einem der weltweit meistverkauften Künstler aller Zeiten.

Label-owner Tro presents yet another diverse EP filled with hypnotic grooves straight from the patchbay.

“Sauna of Bitch” kicks things straight into high gear, weaving together hard-hitting drum machines with meandering acid lines and celestial pads. Next-up, “Maybe European” sees things take a darker turn, with a raw blend of electro and progressive elements, dilated with haunting spoken-word.

On the flip, Toronto veterans Cosmic JD and Aaron Santos deliver a lush, ethereal remix of “Lost in Tres Leches” under their ‘Los Primos’ alias, countering the original’s trippy minimalism with analogue warmth.

Dieses Jahr feiert der 80er-Jahre Italo-Disco-Klassiker „Chinese Eyes“ unfassbares 40-jähriges Jubiläum.
Anlässlich dessen erscheint hierzu am 01.08.25 eine strikt auf 1000 Exemplare limitierte Auflage des unkaputtbaren Hits auf einer hochwertigen 10‘‘ rot-transparenten Vinyl.
Fancy war seiner Zeit stets voraus und Pionier in vielerlei Hinsicht. In einer Zeit, in der Anderssein noch
weitaus stärker polarisierte als heute, schaffte er es willensstark und zielgerichtet auf die unterschiedlichsten
Bühnen der Welt.
Als Produzent (von u.a. Siegfried & Roy), Arrangeur, Komponist, Parodist, Zauberer und Buchautor
arbeitete er mit den größten Namen der Pop-Welt, wie z.B. Michael Jackson und den Pet Shop Boys,
zusammen und prägt bis heute nachhaltig unterschiedlichste Szenen und Subkulturen mit seiner Pionierarbeit.
Auf der Re-Edition sind neben der originalen 7‘‘, sowie der partyerprobten Extended Version auch zwei
brandneue Songs mit dabei. Eine, zum Anlass des 40ten Jubiläums, von Fancy selbst produzierte Version
von „Chinese Eyes“, mit überraschendem Intro, sowie der bislang noch nie von Fancy selbst eingesungene,
aber seinerzeit von ihm für Linda Jo Rizzo (The Flirts) geschriebene und produzierte Euro-Disco-Evergreen
„Fly Me High“.

Foehn & Jerome feat. Sonya Zlo - Macho Madness (PFFD003)

Berlin, Summer 2025 - A raw, hypnotic, and deeply conceptual collaboration is about to make waves. Austrian DJ and producer duo Foehn & Jerome, residents of Berlin's iconic Club Der Visionaere and founders of the Perfumed Freedom label, team up with Ukrainian artist and producer Sonya Zlo to present "Macho Madness" - a wild and genre-bending release born from an unfiltered studio jam that spiralled into something bigger. In addition to their experimental project Space Curls, with which the three artists also perform live shows, Sonya, Fabian, and Jerome have been working on their new techno/house project.

In a world where stereotypes wrestle for power, "Macho Madness" challenges everything we thought was normal. Overblown masculinity, the illusion of strength, and staged rituals of dominance – that is what we call the "Macho Madness".

Foehn & Jerome, known for their electrifying DJ sets, have been shaping Berlin's underground scene for over a decade. Sonya Zlo, who moved to Berlin from Kyiv in 2022, stumbled upon their gig by chance - and what started as a conversation about track ID's turned into a full-on collaboration.

"Working with Foehn & Jerome has taught me so much," says Sonya. "I come from a jazz background, so this was completely new territory for me - but bringing my melodic instincts into this heavy, industrial sound was crazy exciting".

Following Perfumed Freedom's recent releases "The Frisbee of No Return" and "Hermanngirl", the new record "Macho Madness" will be released in summer 2025. Play it, stream it, or pick up the limited vinyl - just don't expect anything ordinary.

Ora Cogans ,Formless", veröffentlicht am 25. August 2023, ist ein Album, das Schönheit, Absurdität, Humor und unerwartete Freude in den düstersten Zeiten findet. ,Formless" entstand inmitten von Trauer und pandemiebedingter Isolation. ,Ich habe viel Zeit damit verbracht, mit meinem Hund ziellos durch den Wald zu streifen", sagte Cogan. Das Ergebnis ist eine Flut von Gedanken über ungeschickte Liebe, Schmerz, innere Kämpfe und den Kampf, Wege zu finden, sich gut zu fühlen, wenn alles schlecht läuft. Das Album wurde größtenteils in Live-Takes mit der Rhythmusgruppe David Proctor und Finn Smith auf Analogband im Risque Disque Studio auf Vancouver Island aufgenommen und von Cogan und David Parry von Loving co-produziert. Mit dabei sind internationale Gaststars wie Cormac Mac Diarmada von Lankum, der ,Feel Life" auf der Saitengitarre spielt, und Y La Bamba, die ,Ways of Losing" im Duett singt. Das Album ist thematisch sehr vielfältig: ,Katie Cruel" mit seinem ätherischen Gesang, einer schlurfenden Snare und einer sitarähnlichen Gitarre ist eine tragische Ballade über eine Sexarbeiterin, die mit Soldaten der leichten Infanterie unterwegs ist. ,Cowgirl" ist ein psychedelischer, langsamer Country-Jam, der sich mit sozialer Isolation in Trauer auseinandersetzt; und ,Feel Life" ist ein Track, der durch den Wahnsinn des alltäglichen Tumults und epische, lebensverändernde Verluste tanzt. Mit einer einzigartigen Stimme, die ebenso sensationell wie klangvoll ist, sucht Ora Cogan nach neuen Realitäten im Labyrinth aus Rauch und Spiegeln unserer grausamen Gesellschaft.

Jazz Is Dead geht in die dritte Phase von Veröffentlichungen mit erstklassigen Aufnahmen, die den Hörer auf eine Reise durch die funkigen Klänge Ghanas bis hin zum psychedelischen Soul und Samba Brasiliens mitnehmen. Von den Labelgründern Adrian Younge und Ali Shaheed Muhammad produziert, enthält Jazz Is Dead 021 neue analoge Aufnahmen der lebenden Legenden Ebo Taylor, Hyldon, Dom Salvador, Antonio Carlos e Jocafi, Carlos Dafé, und Joyce e Tutty Moreno.

After its first ever test press on Crack Records in 1999, already both sides was produced by Dj inc aka Alien5ive in the end of 1997 for the UK Based Record Label "No Smoking Records". In December 2024, Dj inc has made some effective arrangements on the original Tracks and the Repress is now scheduled for July 2025.

Zum 40. Jubiläum von Modern Talking überrascht Sänger Thomas Anders mit einem ganz speziellen Album-Projekt: Eine Hommage an Modern Talking!

Zum 40. Jubiläum von Modern Talking überrascht der Sänger mit Neuaufnahmen der ersten sechs Modern-Talking-Alben und ist somit der erste deutsche Künstler überhaupt, der sein komplettes Frühwerk neu interpretiert! Seit 2003 geht das erfolgreichste Duo der deutschen Popgeschichte bekanntlich getrennte Wege, doch die Modern Talking Songs, zu denen man bis heute in aller Welt tanzt, bleiben nach wie vor weltweit unsterblich.

Die Neuaufnahmen der ersten Modern-Talking-Alben sind mit seiner unverwechselbaren Stimme eine Hommage an das einzigartige Erfolgsduo und an die glorreiche, vermeintlich bunte und sorgenfreie Zeit Mitte der Achtzigerjahre. Die einst vom pulsierenden Italo-Disco-Sound inspirierten Songs sind alle auf Anhieb zu erkennen, klingen jetzt aber dank modernerer Drums und Synths zeitgemäßer. Zusätzlich erscheint das 6-Album-Paket erstmals im Dolby-Atmos Sound, also 3D-Audio. Auf jedem Album überrascht Thomas Anders außerdem mit zwei bislang unveröffentlichten Songs, etwa “Don’t Fly Too High“ oder “Hold Me Tight In The Night“ auf dem ersten Album. Versierte Studiomusiker haben alle Stücke zusammen mit Thomas Anders unter der Ägide von Christian Geller komplett neu eingespielt, begleitet wird Anders dabei übrigens von denselben Chorsängerinnen und Sängern, die schon damals auf den Originalaufnahmen zu hören waren. Bei der Produktion wurden Spuren aus der Originalproduktion so detailgetreu wie möglich neu produziert und den neuen Versionen hinzugemischt.

Die sechs Alben – “The 1st Album“, “Let's Talk About Love“, “Ready For Romance“, “In The Middle Of Nowhere“, “Romantic Warriors“ und “In The Garden Of Venus“, auf denen alle großen Modern-Talking-Hits der 80er vertreten sind – erscheinen ab März 2025 in regelmäßigen Abständen bis Ende des Jahres beim Label Stars by Edel. Following their debut album, Bay Area industrial duo Gridlock quickly pushed their creative boundaries. They restructured their live setup, incorporating new technology that expanded their sonic possibilities.

Their first experiment with upgraded digital tools resulted in the track Enzyme for Pendragon Records’ Quadraphobia compilation. Soon after, they embarked on a short West Coast tour before returning to the studio to craft their next album, Further.

Embracing real-time audio editing, Further developed rapidly, defined by its signature distorted percussion. Initially met with little feedback from their label, the album gained final approval after a live performance at the CMJ festival.

Released in early 1999, Further exceeded expectations, earning critical acclaim and charting in the the RPM charts. It became a landmark in the evolution of industrial music, blending emotional depth and cerebral complexity with brute force.

Gridlock continued evolving through two more albums before disbanding, leaving their work rare and highly sought after. Now, in tribute to Mike Wells, who passed away in 2022, Viasonde is reintroducing Gridlock’s music with the blessing of Wells’ family.

Following the 2024 reissue of The Synthetic Form, Further will be released on July 11th on clear vinyl with greyscale splatter. Half of the proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Wells’ honor.

"Electro Baghdad" expands on the ideas explored on the duo"s self-released 2023 debut EP "Electro Hafla, and builds upon SHIRAN"s solo work, which earned her a Songlines "Top of the World" award and widespread praise for her expressive voice and dynamic reinterpretation of traditional Yemeni music - an influence drawn from her maternal heritage. Both born to half-Yemeni, half-Iraqi parents in Israel, SHIRAN and Bakal"s music reflect their diverse heritage. Singing previously in Yemenite Arabic, she bridged generations by blending traditional melodies with contemporary sounds. Now with "Electro Baghdad", SHIRAN and Bakal pay tribute to their Iraqi roots, recontextualising traditional songs passed down through generations, using analog synths, heavy basslines, and pulsing electronic grooves.

AV1 is the new project of Chris Carrier & Le Loup. With countless releases under their belts, the parisian producers are long time heroes of many around the globe. It’s an honor to welcome these two with a release that merges the different sounds they listened over their long-spanning careers. From trancy tech house, to dark techno beats and a more slowed-down electroish piece on the B-Side, here is a first solid appearance on the label as a duo. Are they done with us? Probably not.

In November 2024, 2 Flying Stones organized a remix contest. Four of the winners are featured on this 12” record.
The Funkhauser remix is already making waves in the jumpstyle scene. It is regularly played on harddance radio shows and festival main stages.
