Brixton's Dream Diary continue to bolster a blooming catalogue of classy electronic music with a fresh 4-track EP courtesy of label owner Oslo Roma. Staying true to their canon - Roma's 'Bubbles' EP spans Ambient, cruising Deep House, Minimal and Electro balancing water tight drums with eyes down melodies throughout.
The title track opens things up with gliding Juno chords and a steady, hypnotic pulse. Shimmering cymbals and spoken snippets ferry the listener into a trance before 'How Good Is The Party' rolls loose limbed drums under sweeping tones and expansive dub delays. 'Mars Water' then dims the lights with a driving bass line set under reversed vocals and clipped, neat drums. 'Twotet' then finishes the package up with sharp 808 drums and soft allaying melodies that work to round off another rich and varied addition to the Dream Diary catalogue.

Hilit Kolet returns to Rekids for the ‘Snap Talk’ EP. It follows her ‘Hot Mess’ single for the storied imprint and features Kameelah Waheed's vocals on the title track.

Continuing her hugely successful run of 2024 releases, Hilit Kolet returns to Radio Slave’s revered Rekids label with the two-tracker ‘Snap Talk’, following in the footsteps of ‘Hot Mess’ (Rekids) and ‘Everything Is Amazing’ (Bush).

The two dancefloor favourites won DJ support from Laurent Garnier, TSHA, HAAi, Maya Jane Coles, Roman Flügel, Chloé Caillet, Jennifer Cardini and countless others while earning an extended string of radio plays from Danny Howard, Jamz Supernova and Sarah Story, who tapped Hilit for a Future Dance Mix.

For ‘Snap Talk,’ the fast-rising East London DJ and producer turns in yet another drop of striking, jackin’ power-house, this time propelled by Brazillian baile funk rhythms, a homage to her days as a samba dancer at London’s Notting Hill Carnival. Fellow Rekids alumnus Kameelah Waheed's seductive spoken-word vocals ride and push the driving 909-fuelled number, and the result is an outstanding 2 AM track that seriously cuts through the noise.

On the flip, Hilit’s ‘Gate 33’ combines tightly looped percussion opening up into a naggingly insistent drum-heavy cut that employs favela funk-patterned cowbells, a throbbing bottom end and a mix of passionate vocal and unnerving airport announcement samples to create an utterly compulsive late-night groove. Hilit Kolet has been integral to London’s underground scene ever since she was slinging vinyl at Soho’s legendary Black Market Records. Her distinctive, energetic DJ style established her behind the decks, playing everywhere from Ibiza to Berlin via Shanghai and Oslo.

Auf ihrem neuen Album "Bruch" mit Oslo Philharmonic unter der Leitung von Gergely Madaras präsentiert die für ihre kreativen Repertoirekonzepte bekannte Geigerin Eldbjørg Hemsing neben Max Bruchs Violinkonzert auch die eigentlich für Viola und Orchester geschriebene Romanze op. 85 sowie ein neues Arrangement von "In der Nacht" op. 72 für Solovioline und Orchester. Die Aufnahme dokumentiert Hemsings langjährige Auseinandersetzung mit einem der großen romantischen Standards des Violinrepertoires. Bereits als Kind hat Hemsing das Werk mit Oslo Philharmonic zum ersten Mal aufgeführt, jetzt sieht sie ihre Interpretation als reif für eine Aufnahme. "Das Bruch-Violinkonzert ist für mich ein lebenslanger Begleiter, ich bin praktisch mit dem Stück aufgewachsen. Das bemerkenswerte ist, wie viele Farben, Emotionen und Bedeutungsebenen sich im Lauf der Jahre für mich erschlossen haben. Ich denke, dass ich jetzt einen Zugang zum Werk habe, der eine Aufnahme rechtfertigt", erklärt Eldbjørg Hemsing. Bekannt für ihren ausdrucksstarken Ton und ihre technische Präzision, stellt Eldbjørg Hemsing in ihrer Interpretation die gesangliche Qualität des Werkes in den Mittelpunkt und arbeitet seine unterschiedlichen Charaktere klar heraus. Dabei erscheint ihr die Balance zwischen Virtuosität und musikalischem Ausdruck in Bruchs Werk von besonderer Bedeutung: "Was ich an diesem Konzert am meisten liebe, ist seine Wärme und seine zutiefst menschliche 'Stimme'. Bruch verstand die Violine auf ganz natürliche Weise. Das Konzert ist zwar virtuos, doch die technischen Herausforderungen stehen immer im Dienst der Musik. Genau das macht es für mich so besonders: Es erlaubt der Violine nicht nur zu glänzen, sondern wirklich zu singen. Jeder Satz eröffnet dabei eine eigene Welt. Dabei ist der zweite Satz für mich das Herzstück des Konzerts, erfüllt von Zärtlichkeit und einem Gefühl von Ruhe", so Eldbjørg Hemsing. The Now She’s Gone single are the first tracks to be completed from the recording sessions at the Fish Factory in Willesden London in December 2025. Sixteen tracks were recorded in the sessions with additional overdub recording taking place at Soundbody studios London between January and February 2026. The single was produced by The Forty Fours and former member of The Damned, Roman Jugg. Whilst Paul Tunkin of Blow Up is the executive producer of the sessions. The remainder of the tracks for the debut album are currently being mixed by Nick Terry in Oslo, Norway for release later in 2026. The Forty Fours are a London based three-piece group, who originally formed in Cornwall as teenagers.

Available 13 June 2025 on double translucent orange vinyl, Trios captures the magic of Buddy Rich's legendary three- man jam sessions-- performances that have never been officially released until now. Recorded live during international concerts in 1976 and 1977, Trios showcases Rich alongside extraordinary talents: bassists Jon Burr and Tom Warrington, and young piano prodigy Barry Kiener. These trio interludes--recorded by Rich's alto saxophonist Alan Gauvin--feature Rich playing with brushes in an intimate setting, spotlighting his dynamic range and nuance. "These trio sets were often played to give the brass section a break," says Gauvin. "But what Buddy did with those moments was extraordinary. It was a masterclass in restraint, creativity, and musical interplay." Among the album's ten tracks are beautifully reimagined standards such as "Just Friends," "Stella by Starlight," and "My Romance." Each performance highlights Rich's desire to step back and allow the piano and bass to shine--something unheard of for a drummer of his stature. The release also serves as a tribute to Barry Kiener, the immensely gifted pianist who tragically passed away at 30. "Barry had been like a son to him," remembers Buddy's daughter Cathy Rich, who serves as an Executive Producer. "This album is a rare glimpse into Barry's brilliance and the deep musical bond he shared with my father." Trios was recorded and produced by Alan Gauvin, mastered by Tom Swift, with cover art by Michael Patterson, the award-winning visual artist and USC professor known for his work on a-ha's iconic "Take on Me" video.

Norwegian post punk duo Mayflower Madame return with their 3rd Studio album and we are delighted to welcome them to the Up In Her Room Family!

Norwegian band Mayflower Madame is set to release their highly anticipated third LP Insighton 1st November 2024. The lead singles, "A Foretold Ecstasy" and "Paint It All in Blue," have garnered widespread acclaim and extensive radio support, including airtime on BBC 6 Music. These tracks offer just a glimpse of what the album delivers—an expansive canvas of pulsating post-punk, shimmering shoegaze, and atmospheric psych-noir, masterfully blended with delicate sonic nuances.
Mixed and mastered by Maurizio Baggio (known for his work with The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, and The Vacant Lots),Insightshowcases the band refining their sound into a sharper and more expansive sonic landscape than ever before. This album sees them exploring greater depths and heights, delivering a hypnotic journey through the shadows, filled with haunting melodies and dreamy melancholia. At the same time, it remains catchy and dynamic, with moments of vibrant brightness.
Insightis dedicated to frontman Trond Fagernes' stillborn daughter and is bookended by two songs—"Ocean of Bitterness" and "Insightfor the Mourning Hours"—that directly address this profound sorrow. Between these somber pieces, the album delves into a wide range of emotions, from nostalgic reflections on lost loves to feverish depictions of escapism and catharsis.
Over the past years, Mayflower Madame have gained a reputation far beyond their hometown of Oslo, Norway. They made their debut with the album ‘Observed in a Dream’ in 2016, which created a buzz in the indie music press and earned them tours across Europe and North America, while 2020s long-awaited sequel ‘Prepared for a Nightmare’ firmly established their position as one of the continent’s leading purveyors of cinematic shoegaze psychedelia swathed in 1980s post-punk and dark romanticism.

it’s a pleasure to bring together, on this album, musicians with whom we feel a very special connection, namely Felicia Atkinson, Büþra Kayýkçý, Carmen Villain, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Pavel Milyakov,
KMRU, Ana Quiroga, Abul Mogard and Pedro Vian. All of them have been very generous in their willingness to participate in an artistic experiment: to build bridges between architecture and music.
Each of these artists chose a space and translated it into a piece of music, and the result is a sonic kaleidoscope through which specific territories can be gazed upon from unexplored points of view. The
compositions that make up this compilation are synaesthetic windows through which we can observe with our ears. To look through them, all we have to do is listen and we’ll be able to contemplate, in a unique
way, spaces located in such different places as Vilches (Chile), Istanbul (Turkey), Oslo (Norway), Sapporo (Japan), Nairobi (Kenya), London (England), Rome (Italy), Berlin (Germany), or even in imaginary universes.

Jordsjø ist ein Duo aus Oslo, Norwegen, inspiriert von alten Horrorfilmen, deutscher Synth-Musik der 70er, schwedischem Prog, Fantasy-Romanen und der norwegischen Natur. Auf 'Jord Sessions' gibt es ein grundlegendes Thema von Entfremdung, Wurzeln und Träumen - mit einem organischen und dynamischen Sound, der Assoziationen an 70er Prog weckt, mit Spuren von elektronischer Musik und Folk. Viel Flöte, Gitarren und eine große Auswahl an Vintage-Synthesizern verleihen dem Album einen warmen Vintage-Sound, während es immer noch frisch und interessant klingt. Die Band besteht aus Multiinstrumentalist Håkon Oftung (Tusmørke, Black Magic) und Schlagzeuger Kristian Frøland.
