'Law 7/2023, of March 28' a humble, reivindicative sonic tribute to animal rights, compressed breaks and charming vocals are guided by a psychedelic melody up to a “Drop” where a monstrous Bassline takes the helm, steering you into an emotionally gravitational State of Dance.

About the remixes, Rabbit in the Moon delivers this legendary Techno-Trance gem 'Music For A Dreaming Generation (Nightowl Mix)' a remix we envision as “a crushing technoid mass” that lifts you up to an epic drop before bringing you back down to the earthly realm.'(Daydream Mix)' in this version, Rabbit in the Moon reimagines the original into a “2-Step Garage” interpretation, a pure Braindance journey, with graceful arrangements fused with epic vocals and mysterious Basslines.

Carolina funk obscurity alert! "Migraine" by North Carolinian musician Dennis Garner, together with Dennis O., is a deep, rare slice of local funk magic. This 45 has always been a bit of a frustration—the cutting engineer accidentally left the lathe test tone running for a few seconds.mid-track, which made it tough to play out. We've finally fixed that issue, and now this killer cut is ready for some proper funtime.

The definition of the word 'fado' is technically 'fate', though the Portuguese meaning bound up with this term is more complex. The music itself can be fairly closely compared with that of Greek rebetika - also the American blues or the original working-class tango music of Argentina and Uruguay - and similarly takes it's common subject matter from the various cruel realities of the world. Though perhaps what distinguishes fado in character is it's often poised acceptance of the pains of life rather than protestation or resistance - as writer Paul Vernon says "It speaks with a quiet dignity born of the realisation that any mortal desire or plan is at risk of destruction by powers beyond individual control"

Death Is Not The End compile here a spine-tingling collection of fado recordings, taken from records issued in the mid 1910s through to the 1930s. The fado's Lisbon and Coimbra variants are presented here by some of the music's earliest recorded stars - spanning a time period leading up to the emergence of the fado's all-conquering star, Amália Rodrigues.

A future classic - a project resurrected from a collaborative effort of the minds of late and great tastemaker and creator Mike Huckaby & Echospace's, Stephen Hitchell. Coming up on over 15 years since this project was conceived while working together on the Model 500 "Starlight" remix project back in 2008, this project truly captures a beautiful moment in time. During this period there was something magical in the air, a creative synergy and understanding of all things deep! The original mix (2008) results from a few sequences and patterns developed out of Wavetable ideas Mike was creating for a sample library he was curating at the time. The sweeps and transients found in these lofi wavetables truly add to the Detroit sound Mike's legacy was built upon, always staying true to his roots. After a few projects together (and more forthcoming) another collaboration was born with SF based (via Glasgow) producer, Federsen who simply put gives us a deeper than deep tribal stomper we're certain Huck would be dropping at peak hour! On the flip, cv313 + federsen reunite to surf Mike's wavetables once more, creating an addictive hook with a sick DETROIT saw bass deeper than the ocean floor! Intrusion's Dub closes out the EP and sends the listener deeper into the abyss, offering sonic designs from another planet, dubbed out into eternal bliss! We truly hope this project resonates and captures some of Mike's creative spirit and sound design. This 12" is a tribute to a true Detroit hero who's contributions to music and the culture are few and far between, a true legend.

For the first time on Little Beat More, Sweden’s Cumbiasound deliver a vibrant 7” that expands their ever-evolving exploration of tropical soundscapes. Led by Daniel Fridell, the band has long been pushing the boundaries of cumbia while keeping its analogue heart beating strong, blending classic Colombian and Peruvian sounds with Afrobeat, reggae, jazz, funk, and beyond.

The A-side Mas Paz (Rework) breathes new life into one of Cumbiasound’s most beloved tracks, originally featured on their album Cosas del Universo. Vocalist Lis Flores Varela brings her unmistakable smoothness, while Chilean rapper Boogie Castillo lays down thoughtful verses with his signature flow in a track that captures the essence of the band: rooted, soulful, and globally connected. And to top it off, this new version has a fresh new vocal feature by Congolese singer José Pereelanga.

On the flip side, Jinsei, is a collaboration with Japanese cumbia band Mumbia y Sus Candelosos, led by composer and percussionist Mutsumi Kobayashi. With its breezy guitars, soft tropical groove, and the warm vocals of José Pereelanga, the track drifts like a slow river, effortlessly bridging continents and traditions.

With this 7”, Cumbiasound once again affirms its place among the most interesting projects in today’s nu-cumbia landscape with a vision that crosses borders with ease.

Simon Braithwaite of Smash Hits wrote that Life's Hard and Then You Die shows
that It's Immaterial "write jolly good pop songs - In fact everything else here is just
as inspired and original as their recent hit."
In a retrospective review, Michael Sutton of All Music wrote, "Musically, the LP is
all over the place - new wave country, blues, folk, and synth pop - Somehow the
smorgasbord of styles works, because the band members aren't being eclectic
just for the sake of it; they simply have a wide canvas, keeping the album fresh
from beginning to end."

"Next up in Mr Bongo's Groove Merchant Records reissue series, we present the only solo album saxophonist Ramon Morris recorded as a bandleader. Having cut his teeth playing with the iconic band Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers and working with other jazz greats, including Reuben Wilson, Shirley Scott, Rashied Ali Quintet, and Woody Shaw, 1973 saw Ramon take the step into solo territory. The resulting album Sweet Sister Funk became a certified classic and a landmark showcase of the cherished ‘70s jazz-funk sound, later sampled by the likes of DJ Premier, The Alchemist and DJ Shadow.

Originally released on Sonny Lester's iconic Groove Merchant record label and produced by Lester himself, Sweet Sister Funk is a jazz-funk masterclass. It features a slick line-up including Cecil Bridgewater on trumpet, Mickey Roker on drums, and Albert Dailey on electric piano. Rich and beautiful, the seven songs ebb and flow in energy, fusing jazz funk and soul jazz with style and swagger. There are bags of groove with Ramon and Cecil trading off on sax and trumpet in an effortless conversation throughout the LP, supplemented by brilliant solos from the rest of the players.

A gold mine of sampling material, the album includes a sublime cover version of The Stylistics' much-loved 'People Make The World Go Round', which was sampled by DJ Shadow on Blackalicious's 'Swan Lake' in 1994. Elsewhere, the percussion and bass intro of the opening track 'First Come, First Serve' is a sampler's delight - a deep, heavy groove with a fine saxophone workout by Ramon. Head to 'Don't Ask Me' and you’ll find the swinging horn intro that formed the basis of 'You Came Up' by Big Pun featuring Noreaga from 1998, whilst 'Wijinia' has echoes of ‘70s indie jazz by labels such as Strata East & Black Jazz.

Originally released in 1971, this classic album was the second studio album from the legendary American singer/songwriter Carole King. It is the 81st best selling album of all time, with over 10 million copies sold and is also ranked by Rolling Stone as 25th on the list of the Top 500 greatest albums of all time. "Like A Gun," originally self-released in 2019, is Laila Sakini's debut solo release, now remastered on limited 7-inch vinyl. The title track blends dark, atmospheric textures with dreamlike moments, while "Life Out Here Is Changing" offers a haunting, introspective soundscape. Features original cover art by Sophie Gemmill, with some copies including a new painting. A must-have for fans of experimental, emotive soundscapes!

ICONYC celebrates its landmark 20th release with a heavyweight offering from none other than Sam Shure, whose Pressure EP brings a searing new edge to the label’s evolving identity.

Known for his hybrid sound that fuses hypnotic groove with high-impact drama, Shure delivers a powerhouse original, one that’s further elevated by an elite roster of remixers including Denis Horvat, Sentin & Mosoo, Dharma, and Anido.

The Fight Club (Original Motion Picture Score) was composed by The Dust Brothers and released in 1999. The album features 16 instrumental tracks that follow the film’s narrative arc. It was nominated for a Brit Award for Best Soundtrack in 2000. The track This Is Your Life features vocals by Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) and became a cult favorite.

Recorded in the wake of Dr. King's assassination, this 1969 single from Mississippi-born, Chicago-raised Syl Johnson stands as one of the starkest and most soul-wrenching protest songs ever committed to tape. Built around a slow, smouldering groove and the raw ache of Johnson's vocal, 'Is It Because I'm Black' is less a call to arms than a question hung in the air-resigned, frustrated, defiant. The Pieces of Peace deliver a restrained but deeply felt arrangement: skeletal drums, moody bass, mournful horns, all circling Johnson's voice like a sermon in minor key. What could feel like despair instead pulses with something tougher-dignity, clarity, and a refusal to shut up. The record would later be sampled by Wu-Tang and reinterpreted in Jamaica, but nothing quite matches the grit and sorrow of the original. A landmark in American soul music, whispered more than shouted.

UK house veteran Andy Riley, best known as half of Inland Knights, is back with new solo beats on the Frosted Recordings label. Lead single 'Minute By Minute' is a slow, groovy, sensual sound with 90s downbeat vibes and interesting synth textures. Pacific Northwest native Trevor Vichas steps up with his Dark Deep mix which brings a meandering bassline and more uptempo house drums then Canadian export Jason Hodges steps up with two versions. The first is all silky grooves and filtered vocals that bring some warming soul and the second is a stripped-back instrumental. Timeless house from front to back.

Mister Bear Records follows up Vick Lavender & Justin Dillard's acclaimed BEYOND LP with a heavyweight double-vinyl remix package. Legends and innovators reimagine the originals for the floor: Jimpster brings deep rolling warmth on Time and Time Again, Sean McCabe adds soulful polish to Experimental, and Kai Alcé injects Detroit-rooted swing into The Midnight Hour. Lavender himself drops a boogie-infused mix of Sunset BLVD, while Coflo, Shaka, and Eric D. Clark delivers unique, floor-ready takes on Grace and Get Here. French duo and Get Physical, Rekids and Definitive Recordings regulars Boogie Vice & N-You-Up cook up some silky deep house magic here with the one and only voice of Chicago house past, present and future, Robert Owens. The legendary partnership of NYC's Disco godfather Tom Moulton and Philadelphia International Records has long been documented.
A truly explosive collaboration that yielded endless classic tracks for dancers and deep listeners alike, Moulton seemed to be totally in tune with the labels output and the direction it should go in. Luckily we've been enjoying the fruits of this labour for the last 30+ years with a lot of these PIR classics becoming ingrained in the psyche of the modern day music fan as the building blocks of House music.

The names alone hark to the legendary voices of the era, major stars including The O'Jays, The Futures, Jean Carne & The Jones Girls all feature with classic after classic getting the TJM treatment. Moulton's supreme ear on this special PIR reissue 2 x 12" see's some all-time classics from the aforementioned artists in their full, unabridged, unedited Disco glory. The selections on this EP are absolutely top-shelf, flawless in fact. One could argue that these are the 'definitive' versions of these anthems. Pure Disco gold essentials. Anyone with even a passing interest in Disco will most certainly need this record in their possession, the 2012 pressing of this EP is super in demand among those in the know and it can change hands for £100+ second hand, so a repress was desperately needed.

A stunning 7" release from Jazzamor featuring a speedy bossa cover of Jamiroquai's breakthrough hit!

This 7-inch couples two carefully selected tracks from the archives of veteran German music unit Jazzamor.

Side A is a speedy bossa cover of "Space Cowboy," the 1994 breakthrough global hit by Jamiroquai, originally featured on Jazzamor's 2004 album A Piece Of My Heart. Side B includes an uptempo bossa track from their 2002 debut album Lazy Sunday Afternoon. The arrangement features the charmingly delicate vocals of Bettina Mischke, combined with Roland Grosch's acoustic guitar and percussion, layered into a Brazilian-inspired electronic sound with an elegant touch.

For the second instalment of the Curio Cabinet gourmet-dub series, we bring you two fat slices of steppers’ delight, straight from the southern city of Toulouse.

Both are made by Stefan Dubs under the guiding light of his live project, Sòn Du Maquis. This project has deep roots in the free rave, micro-festival, and dub & sound system culture of his country. It’s also the name of his own label, home to his dub-infested productions; ranging from slo-mo jungle to droney steppers and blown-out trip-hop on a slightly medieval tip.

Staying true to classic sound system tradition, each side pairs the original cut with its own version.

First there is Tolosan Dub, a trancey bass meditation colossus with deep synth work moving around in the trees. Some early nineties UK digidub vibes are surely mashing up the dance here. The version workout slows things down a bit, taking you even deeper into the riddim... strictly warrior style !

On the B-side we've got Bonnefoï Dub, which is pure bass-bin filth with a rootsy harmonica touch and a raw clubby feel. This tune just screams to be played out loud on a proper sound system. The version is certified dance-floor gold, yet there are enough dubbed-out flavours going on for intimate headphone sessions or some mad home skanking.

Originally released in 1972, Toni Tornado's self-titled debut is a landmark in Brazilian soul and funk - a gritty, groovy record that helped define the sound of the Black Rio movement. Blending deep soul, psychedelic funk, and bold orchestration, this album channels the revolutionary energy of James Brown with the tropical swagger of Rio's streets. From the urgent rhythms of 'Torniente' to the undeniable strut of 'Mané Beleza' and 'Tornado,' Toni's music pulses with a fierce sense of pride and liberation. It's the sound of a new cultural identity taking shape - where African-American soul met Afro-Brazilian reality. Often compared to the legendary Tim Maia, Tornado brought his own explosive edge to Brazil's growing soul scene. By the 1970s, other Brazilian musicians, such as Banda Black Rio, Cassiano, Gerson King Combo, Jorge Ben and Gilberto Gil, began making soul records. DJs started throwing soul-only parties. Toni Tornado's voice carries grit and passion, his grooves hit hard, and his message is crystal clear - Black is beautiful, and the funk is real. Larse: German DJ and producer Larse has released on acclaimed labels such as Defected, Glitterbox, and Noir Music, earning a global reputation for timeless, emotive house. Neroli reaches release number 50 during its 20th anniversary and celebrates with a special project, an album of songs by some of the label artists and friends. The title reference goes back to 20 years ago when label’s honcho Volcov decided to give the label the name of Brian Eno’s Neroli album, an hour long ambient opus inspired by the oil derived by the flowers of the Seville orange. So after 20 years and 50 releases the label goes full circle and offers an album of delicate and heartwarming melodies and atmospheric songs. The talent of original UK dons Kirk Degiorgio, Dego and Ian o’Brien is enrolled once again to guarantee sophistication and depth. Patrice Scott and Fred P, who had recently released eps on Neroli, are joined here by fellow spacecadet Aybee…all delivering warm futuristic pieces! K15 and Linkwood debut on the label, opening and closing the album with class. And there is even a lost composition by Volcov himself with Detroit’s Gerald Mitchell and Pirahnahead as part of some 2010 sessions that might resurface soon…THE FIRST CIRCLE is complete!

CPEN is the alias of Chris Penny and his 'Pirates Life' EP on Seasons Recordings back in the 2000s is one of our all-time favourites. It was used on Craig Richards's fabric mix and still sounds original more than a quarter of a century on as the man behind it has gone on to work with Luke Solomon and Honey Dijon on a Grammy-winning album. It's the title cut that does it for us with the way the groove is so languid and loose as it hangs just above the floor and deep space sounds colour the airwaves. 'Song Of The Muse' is a beautiful synth scape stripped of rhythm and 'Liquid Steps' has a little more bite but still roll on nice soft kicks with life-affirming keys up top. 'Third Quarter' is a majestic post-club comedown with all of CPEN's signature synth sounds and even some brassy smears, making it an utter downtempo delight.

This record is a dedication to the enduring legacy of Costantino MixMaster Padovano. Originally produced in the late 90's but never officially released, this collaborative piece is finally seeing the light of day as a powerful celebration and tribute.
Costantino MixMaster Padovano needs no introduction to house music aficionados. He was one of the first Italian DJs to achieve deep respect in the 90s US house scene, regularly sharing the decks with titans like Frankie Knuckles, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Louie Vega, and Todd Terry. His studio influence was massive, including official remixes for legends such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige and many more.
Antony Reale is an established Italian DJ and producer with a large discography spanning the last two decades. He has produced and remixed a roster of top artists, including Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, Ultra Naté, and RuPaul.
"Back From Paradise": Originally created by Antony and Costantino during their creative prime in the late 90's, Antony has now decided to finally release the track. It serves as a beautiful and fitting monument to the memory and fantastic career of this iconic Italian DJ and producer who helped define the 90's house scene.
