A peerless debut album by Jacks, born during the dawn of Japanese rock, is reissued as a colored vinyl modeled after the original red disc released by
Toshiba Musical Industries on September 10, 1968.

Its dark and freaky lyrics and sound, as if gouging out the depths of the soul, had a profound impact on the music scene that followed.
In addition to the original 10 tracks from the album, this reissue includes the single A-side track "Kono Michi", which was released around the same time but not included in the original album.

Teddy is the accumulation of past projects. Swims stands for: someone who isn’t me sometimes, a reference to Teddy’s struggle to integrate the different parts of himself. For Teddy, the goal is to break barriers and bring people together. About the project, Teddy says, “There are no categories, no stereotypes, no statistic is a definite number. Over the past few years, Kevin Fingier has released a series of hard-hitting, high-selling 7” singles, on his own Acid Jazz-group imprint, along with a compilation LP and an original album. He is known for his authentic 60s R&B sound, with a distinctly Latin touch. ‘Waterfalls’ sees Santa Fiebre move into funkier, late-60s territory, with a percussive beat and driving horns accompanying a wonderful, soulful vocal.

Xan Tyler is an English vocalist and songwriter, her voice has been described as
crystalline" by Pitchfork and "extraordinary" by Uncut - Xan has had an extensive
career after getting her start as backing vocalist for Death Bang Party as a teenager.
She went on to be half of electro pop duo Technique signed to Creation Records. She
has collaborated with the likes of Timo Mass, Martin Buttrich and Mad Professor. Her
first solo album Holding Up Half The Sky was released by Last Night From Glasgow in
May 2024. Dusty Stray is Amsterdam-based, US-raised alt-folk songwriter Jonathan
Brown. He has released six albums as Dusty Stray starting in 2009. His latest solo
album is Fire Place, released in 2023. Big Takeover described the album as "brave"
and "authentic".

Mid Price Campaign! Heavy, melodic and passionate, Flat Earth is a hard rock band from Helsinki, Finland, founded by Ex-Amorphis bass player (Niclas Etelävuori) Ex-HIM guitarist (Linde Lindström) Ex-HIM drummer (Gas Lipstick) and Polanski singer (Anthony Pikkarainen). The band produces heavy riffs, blasting beats and cinematic chords that combine to create an unforgiving, passionate, and dynamic sound.
The band's debut single ‘Blame’ premiered on Radio Rock in 2018, immediately gaining popularity, throughout Finland and the rest of Europe. The single Cyanide followed in the footsteps of the debut single, gaining public recognition and earning them a spot opening for ‘Alice in Chains’, in Helsinki. Two musicians, two different folk music traditions, two soundscapes hundreds of miles apart and one nightingale song. Nightingale melodies inspired this intoxicating folk album by Slovakian flautist Michaela Antalová and Norwegian double bassist Adrian Myhr. The Oslo-based duo’s album follows their meditative 2021 debut Zvony (Bells), which featured harmonium, field recordings of crickets and a Slovak male choir.

Sing Nightingale is a translation of ‘Zaspievaj Slavicku’, a traditional Slovakian song. The duo experiments with this theme of the songbird; exploring instrumentation from around the world and its rich tonal textures. On ‘Night Singing’, Michaela plays a Slovakian fujara, a tall, upright wooden bass flute originally played by shepherds. The fujara’s smooth, deep tones are laid over a recording of a nightingale by musicologist Tomáš Šenkyřík, with Michaela’s flute mimicking the bird’s nocturnal chirps and warbles to attract a mate. Michaela is carefully imitating the bird, who is in turn improvising his melody. In ‘Worm Moon’, named after the springtime full moon in March, when nightingales return from Africa where they have spent the cold winter, Adrian’s slow and resonant double bass is brightened by the sweet trills of a real nightingale and Michaela’s fujara.

The Norwegian Hardanger fiddle or hardingfele, features on two specially written songs; ‘Lament’ and ‘Rosenhave’ (rose garden) which bring together the nightingale’s symbolic associations with undying love, sacrifice, deep sorrow and loss. Celebrated Hardanger fiddle player Helga Myhr plays alongside Adrian’s double bass and Michaela’s seljefløyte or willow flute. Helga also plays on ‘Flagre’ (Flutter) and ‘Dance Nightingale’. The seljefløyte is very similar to the Slovak overtone flute koncovka. By using this Norwegian instrument, Adrian and Michaela’s new compositions are reminiscent of both countries’ folk traditions. Folk music often comes from unknown sources; the original writer may not be known and the melodies are typically passed down orally. Michaela and Adrian’s project merges the different folk musics from their respective countries, finding common ground in the sonic qualities of instruments and evolving a new hybrid folk style, authentic in its own right.

For the stunning adaptation of the traditional Slovakian fujara song ‘Dolu Ovce Dolinami’ (‘Sheep down the valleys’), Adrian’s friend Javid Afsari Rad plays the Iranian santur, similar to the traditional Slovak string instrument cimbalom. By coincidence, Iran’s national bird is the nightingale, making another unexpected connection to the symbolic bird. These 11 tracks are a beguiling fusion of traditional folk styles, approached by musicians from an avant-garde, improv and jazz background. The album pays tribute to a hugely expressive bird and finds a strange, soothing universality in the folk sounds of different countries.

London experimental artist feeo announces debut album ‘Goodness’, shares second single ‘The Hammer Strikes the Bell’

An impressionistic assemblage of drone, ambient, experimental electronics, improvisational music & minimalist dance music. Music of profoundly emotive, radical resonances; both tender & fearless.

Alvorada is Montanha’s first long play: an ambient-leaning work, nocturnal in mood yet touched by electricity, tracing a journey from waking activity into dream logic. Recorded mostly in the late hours of the evening with windows open to the city, letting its air and sounds influence the music, it sometimes reached the early moments of sunrise. The title, meaning “dawn,” reflects both the liminal hours of its making and the band’s own renewal. These tracks are closer to drawings than songs: narratives written between instruments, moments of tension and release, fragments of memory and dream. The tracklist follows this nocturnal voyage with the patience of Eno, the disquiet of Uematsu, and the madness of Miles Davis’ Decoy, oscillating between streets and sleep, routine and reverie.

Montanha was formed in 2010 by André Azevedo, Nuno Oliveira, João Sarnadas, and Tito Silva, bonding over architecture school all-nighters on videogame soundtracks (Age of Empires, Super Mario). They began as a psychedelic rock combo and in 2013 released their self-titled EP which introduced a raw, improvised energy. But the album that was meant to follow was abandoned as the band entered hiatus. The four members turned their creative drive towards co-founding Favela Discos, where experimentation with media and form reshaped their ideas of music, and developed their taste, their way of playing, and a more personal sound that was more open and disconnected from a defined genre.

By 2017, Montanha had returned to the studio with new experience, no longer a rock band in the traditional sense but a project devoted to improvisation and electronic soundscapes. An ever gentrifying city forced them to abandon acoustic drums, and they embraced electronic beats instead, and became mobile; one guitar dissolved into full synths, leaving the other to converse with bass. Improvisation remained their compass. In improvisation there are no mistakes, only missed opportunities. Montanha found their opportunity in the routine of the studio to break routines of pop and experimental. The result is a body of nearly fifty hours of recordings, sculpted into an album.

Alvorada is not only Montanha’s first LP but also the dawn of their new phase. Improvised yet carefully sculpted, the record expands the territory of the song into nonlinear narratives, letting the language of night, dream, and city seep into its form.

This is the ultimate mini-album that can proudly be called LIP CREAM! “9 SHOCKS TERROR” has remained timeless since its original release in 1986, embodying incomparable speed and a level of perfection that defines Japanese hardcore. Opening with ‘TERROR,’ which goes straight into reverse audio and needle skips, the song structure charges forward relentlessly, shaking off the catchy, humorous, and approachable vibe that had previously defined LIP CREAM. Naoki's noisy yet melodic guitar, Pill's wild drums, Minoru's heavy yet high-speed bass, and JhaJha's intense shouts that still allow the lyrics to be clearly heard—all these elements fuse together to create powerful tracks that have reached an unprecedented sound. Recorded at Shinjuku JAM Studio, ‘9 SHOCKS TERROR’ was composed primarily by Minoru and Naoki, with lyrics and artwork by JhaJha. JhaJha's hand-drawn jacket illustration was a parody of THE FUZZTONES' album “Cinderella”. Additionally, an English translation of the lyrics is included for this RELAPSE release, helping English-speaking listeners understand the unique world of LIP CREAM. Interestingly, the title “9 SHOCKS TERROR” was revised to “9 SHOCKING TERROR” on the 2007 CD reissue by ONI Label. This revision was made after illustrator PUSHEAD, who has a long-standing relationship with LIP CREAM, pointed out a grammar error. However, the original title has been restored out of respect for the original work for this RELAPSE reissue. Following the release of this album, LIP CREAM launched their self-managed national tour “BLOODY SUMMER TOUR,” and fans who bought the album rushed to the gig. Additionally, during a show at Doshisha University in Kansai in the autumn of the same year, torches were brought onto the stage and Jha Jha set them ablaze, causing absolute chaos (footage of this incident can be viewed in the video “LIP CREAM ONLY”).

Terror Corpse wurde 2025 gegründet, besteht jedoch aus Veteranen der US-Underground-Szene und ist aus den Überresten von Malignant Altar hervorgegangen, wo sie dort weitermachen, wo ihre Vorgänger aufgehört haben – immer noch in Zusammenarbeit mit Dark Descent Records.

Das Album wurde vollständig vom Schlagzeuger selbst produziert und hat einen ebenso unverwechselbaren wie vernichtenden Sound. Vom ersten hämmernden Kick-Drum-Schlag an, zu dem sich bald eine markerschütternde Bassline gesellt, lässt Ash Eclipses Flesh seinen unerbittlichen Griff nie locker.

„Ich wollte im Wesentlichen einen extrem tief gestimmten Celtic-Frost-Gitarrensound mit einer modernen und großzügigen, natürlichen Drum-Aufnahme. Großer Raum, große Drum-Sounds. Dazu noch ein paar höhlenartige, tiefe Vocals im Stil von Craig Pillard und Bassgitarre, und schon hat man unseren Sound.“

Die Verehrung der Band für das Erbe von Celtic Frost zeigt sich auch im letzten Song des Albums, einem Cover von „Into the Crypts of Rays“. Dobber macht keinen Hehl aus den Einflüssen von Terror Corpse: „Disciples Of Mockery, Incantation, Morbid Angel vor den 2000er Jahren; im Wesentlichen älterer böser amerikanischer Death Metal. Celtic Frost hat uns alle massiv beeinflusst. Von ihren primitiven und gewalttätigen Anfängen bis hin zur ultra-experimentellen und dunklen Ära ihrer späteren Alben.“

Nachdem Master's Hammer 2018 die letzte Show zur Unterstützung des Albums »Fascinator« gespielt hatten, schien es, als sei die Geschichte der tschechischen Legende endgültig zu Ende gegangen.

Aber glücklicherweise wurde die Band nicht begraben, sondern ging nur in den Winterschlaf und ist nun nach 7 Jahren mit einem neuen Album zurück! Master's Hammer, die sich nie darum gekümmert haben, sich anzupassen, weigern sich, sich auf bestimmte Genres festlegen zu lassen und nach den Regeln anderer zu spielen, was zu vielen höchst originellen Alben geführt hat, die sich jeder Kategorisierung entziehen. Obwohl »Maldorör Disco« unverkennbar Master's Hammer ist, ist es wahrscheinlich ihr bisher experimentellstes und am wenigsten nach Black Metal klingendes Album.

Spanish Love Songs return with a new EP, a reflective collection created mid-process while writing their next full-length. Since forming in 2013, the band has grown from DIY roots into one of modern punk’s most vital voices with albums like Schmaltz, Brave Faces Everyone, and No Joy. Vocalist Dylan Slocum calls these songs “imperfect snapshots,” built in real time with friends and collaborators — including Kevin Devine, Illuminati Hotties, Dan Campbell, and Tigers Jaw. Palmöl, Facepalm - whatever_ Was hat das jetzt alles mit dem neuen Album des linksgrünversifften Punk-Quartetts Akne Kid Joe am Hut? Die sind Team Orang Utan und FFF, soviel erstmal dazu. Aber steht denn wirklich alles im Zeichen der Verschwörungstheorie? Wer aufgrund des Album-Titels nun eine Konzept-LP gegen nutella und co. vermutet, muss leider enttäuscht werden. Wie schon auf Karate Kid Joe wird sich hier auch wild echauffiert, die Palette ist nun aber deutlich breiter. Zentrale Themen sind - klar, Verschwörungstheorie - aber auch linke Klassiker wie Vaterlandsverrat, Saufen und Beamtenbeleidigung. Mitunter wird es auf der neuen Scheibe aber auch richtig deep, z.B. mit einer 1,5 minütigen Nacherzählung eines Beziehungsendes im Italien Urlaub. Oder der Frage was nun besser ist - "Free Hugs" oder "Love Yourself" T-Shirts.
