Modern metallers DAGOBA are back! Die Heavy Metal Vorreiter HAMMERFALL lassen wieder den Hammer schwingen und versprühen mit ihrem
zwölften Studioalbum Hammer Of Dawn Power auf allen künstlerischen Ebenen! Als HAMMERFALL 1997
ihr Debütalbum Glory To The Brave veröffentlichten, brachten sie nicht nur frischen Wind in die Metalszene, sondern schafften es auch, für einen gigantischen Aufschwung im traditionellen Heavy Metal zu
sorgen. Seitdem haben HAMMERFALL ein starkes Album nach dem anderen veröffentlicht. Diese unverwechselbare Kraft der Schweden, gepaart mit der großen Gabe unaufhaltsam ihren Weg weiter zu gehen
findet sich auch auf Hammer Of Dawn wieder. Dem Album ist in jeder Sekunde anzuhören dass die Band
pandemiebedingt so viel Zeit wie noch nie hatte an jedem kleinen Detail zu arbeiten, was deutlich hörbar

Das neue Album wurde von Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, In Flames, Opeth, Powerwolf u.a.) gemischt
und gemastert, der auch das Schlagzeug aufgenommen hat. Die Vocals für Hammer Of Dawn wurden
von Jacob Hansen (Volbeat u.a.) produziert, während die Gitarren von Pontus Norgren selbst, in Zusammenarbeit mit den Co-Produzenten Oscar Dronjak und Fredrik Nordström aufgenommen und produziert

Nach Nino Rotas Meisterwerk „Amarcord“ präsentiert CAM Sugar mit „Profumo di Donna“ einen weiteren
Soundtrack-Klassiker in seiner „Heritage-Serie“.
Der Film von Dino Risi wurde 1975 bei den Filmfestspielen von Cannes gezeigt, im folgenden Jahr fand
er internationale Anerkennung mit zwei Oscar-Nominierungen für den besten ausländischen Film und das
beste Drehbuch. Der anhaltende Erfolg des Films veranlasste Hollywood, 1993 ein Remake mit Al Pacino
in der Hauptrolle zu drehen, der für seine Leistung einen Oscar als bester Hauptdarsteller gewann.
Der von Armando Trovajoli, einem Meister der italienischen Filmmusik, komponierte Score ist eine wunderbare Melange aus Orchesterklängen, Jazz, Easy Listening und sogar einer Prise Disco. Der bekannteste
Track ist „Che Vuole Questa Musica Stasera“, eine von Peppino Gagliardi gesungene Ballade, die Guy
Ritchie in seinem Film „The Man From U.N.C.L.E.“ (2015) erneut einsetzte.
Die Musik erscheint jetzt von den Originaltapes remastered, auf LP mit einem bisher unveröffentlichten
Track und auf CD mit acht unveröffentlichten Songs.

SILENT SKIES ist die Band einer Kooperation zwischen Tom Englund (EVERGREY) und Vikram Shankar (REDEMPTION).

Geboten wird melancholische, soundtrackartiges Musik die hauptsächlich von emotionalen Keyboard-Klängen
begleitet wird.

Trostlos, düster, aber auch hoffnungsvoll bahnen sich die Kompositionen auf ”Satellites” ihren Weg, die von

TAPE012 ASYLUM - Is This The Price? 7” EP Formed in 1981 by a crew of hardcore punx and skins from Stoke-on-Trent in the industrial Midlands of England, Asylum fully embraced the ‘Noise Not Music’ rallying call. The missing link between Discharge and Japanese Noisecore, their sound is characterised by detuned ear-piercing distortion: buzzsaw guitars, fuzzed bass, charging drums and gargled vocals battle each other in a maelstrom of lo-fi production murk that reflects the bleak outlook of their lyrics. Only existing for a brief moment in time (playing a handful of mainly local gigs and releasing one demo tape and the occasional track on compilation tapes) and obscure even during their existence, Asylum were nonetheless influential, their ‘1,000 M.P.H. Hardcore Punk’ inspiring other U.K. groups such as Skum Dribblurzzzz and Napalm Death. This release contains the 6 Track demo Is This The Price? Which was originally released as a tape only EP on Retaliation Records. The tracks have been remastered and mark the first time Asylum have released anything on vinyl. Die 2007 gegründete deutsche Heavy-Metal-Formation KISSIN DYNAMITE hat sich mehr als nur einen
Namen in der Szene gemacht: Mit sechs Studioalben und diversen Chart Erfolgen (#7 in den GERAlbumcharts mit dem 2018er Full-Length Ecstasy) etablierte die Band ihren Trademark-Stil - geprägt
von modernen Sounds, wuchtigen Hymnen und eingängigen Hooks, gepaart mit 80er-Jahre-StadionrockAttitüde und einem außergewöhnlichen Look. Nun steht die Kombo in den Startlöchern bereit, ihr Napalm
Records-Debüt Not The End Of The Road zu veröffentlichen und mit 12 kraftvollen Tracks den Weg des
Metal im Jahr 2022 zu ebnen.
Produziert, aufgenommen und gemischt wurde das neue Studioalbum von Sänger Hannes Braun selbst, der
auch schon mit Bands wie SANTIANO, THE KELLY FAMILY oder BEYOND THE BLACK gearbeitet hat.
Das Mastering übernahm Jacob Hansen in den Hansen Studios, der Grammy Award nominierte Produzent
ist bekannt für seine Arbeit mit Bands wie VOLBEAT und vielen mehr.

Jung, wütend und mit einem klaren politischen Statement gegen Rassismus, Sexismus und Homophobie im
Gepäck - SETYØURSAILS nehmen bei Weitem kein Blatt vor den Mund. Die Newcomer aus Köln spielen
kompromisslosen und dennoch melodischen (Post) Hardcore gewürzt mit signifikanten Metalcore-Parts und
überzeugen sowohl Live, als auch auf Platte.
Nun steht die Band mit ihrem zweiten Album und Napalm Debüt Nightfall in den Startlöchern, das
am 21.01.2022 veröffentlicht wird. Bereits der Intro-Track “Ghosts”, featuring Annisokay-Fronter Rudi
Schwarzer, zeigt schnell in welchem musikalischen Fahrwasser die Band unterwegs ist: Schwirrende Gitarrenlinien, mischen sich mit beinah elektronischen Einflüssen und formen die imposante Rückmeldung
von SETYØURSAILS, die ihre musikalische Vielfältigkeit unter Beweis stellen. Die Mischung aus Metal-,
Death- und klassischen Hardcore Elementen zieht sich durch die komplette Scheibe und lässt dabei aber

SETYØURSAILS sind aber auch stets für Überraschungen zu haben. Gemeinsam mit Mike Perez von No
Braggings Rights covern sie „Shallow” (aus dem Film “Star Is Born”) von Lady Gaga und Bradley Cooper
und verleihen der Ballade ihren persönlichen Touch, womit sie erneut ihre musikalische Vielfältigkeit beweisen.

With ‘Breaks From The V’ (the title of which is a tribute to his homeland, where ‘V’ stands for Vesuvius), Artizhan narrates his life through his music and embodies the best version of himself displaying, through ten stunning tracks, great versatility as a producer, ranging from D&B and Jungle to abrasive beats and some masterly composed and very personal paraphrase of IDM. Welcome to the jazz funk world of the late great Mr Weldon Johnathan Irvine. This great man managed to write music that both inspired and in awed 50 years ago, as it still does today. He takes you to another world, with his gentle yet almost crazy energy. He was way ahead of his time producing these monumental, instrumental masterpieces. Mr Irvine was such a calm and kind gentleman, who just oozed music. He sadly passed away in 2002. It is a great honour to be able to release some of his music from his Nodlow music label on to 7” for the first time.

In 1974 Weldon released his “In Harmony” LP. The two tracks we chose are, “Fat Mouth” which, as expected, features the signature Weldon rift. This Clavinet-heavy groove is backed up with the mighty Joe Jones on Hammond organ; and is all held steady with the pumping drums from Napoleon Revels
“Turkish Bath” is a laid-back jazz groove, with Weldon laying down a superb lead Rhodes story and melody. Backed up with Joe Jones on the piano. Weldon’s keyboard echoes throughout his music with such simplicity.

GALATHEA is the new project by DJ Massimo Napoli, and the title of his first solo album. MASSIMO NAPOLI is a DJ from Catania with a passion for jazz and black music. He began his musical career in the early 90s playing funk, hip hop, and acid jazz in clubs, contributing to the spreading of the most eclectic and refined sounds in Sicily.

Departing from club culture with particular emphasis on electronic dub, Galathea unfolds into many influences and styles, making it a unique listening experience. On Apotheosis, the band has built a flowing, epochal sound concept that combines explosive guitar/bass lines with thunder-fast drums, spiced with choral elements and leading into a heavy blend, which BORNHOLM present successfully in all kinds of variations from track 1 to 11.

Strut return to the rich archives of Black Fire Records for the Drum Message album by Ghanaian master percussionist Okyerema Asante from1977. After playing a short spell early in his career with Ebo Taylor's Blue Monksband at Tip Toe's in Accra, Asante joined the fledgling Hedzoleh Soundz during the early '70s at their Napoleon Club residency in the city. After playing Fela's Shrine, Fela recommended them to Hugh Masekela as an ideal backing band and Hedzoleh joined Masekela on a US tour in December 1973. Sharing the same management company, Charisma, Asante first met Plunky and Oneness Of Juju during an East coast tou rwith Masekela, starting a relationship with the band that has endured until today. Recorded at Arrest Studios in Washington D.C. in October 1977 and featuring musicians from Oneness alongside Gil Scott Heron cohort Brian Jackson on piano, Drum Message represents an important milestone fo rAsante: "This album really came from my heart. I wanted to project the African spirit in the music and come out with some unique African jazz. To be able to record it on Black Fire was extra special." The album also involved some serious physical graft: "The studio was up on the 14th Floor and the elevator was often broken down. I showed up with a van full of African drums and Jimmy Gray from Black Fire and myself had to carry them all the way up there, each day!" The resultant album was well worth the sweat. 'Adowa' adds jazz arrangements to a traditional Asante rhythm and Oneness classic 'FollowMe' is skilfully re-worked ("I used the bass drum in place of the bass guitar so it was all based on rhythms."). New versions of Asante dancefloor favourite 'Sabi' sit alongside the mellow groove of 'Asante Sana' ("I wantedsomething cool like reggae or highlife on that track, a similar vibe. So, Iwent inbetween.").

Spirale were an Italian quintet from Rome, consisting of Gaetano Delfini (wind instruments, vocals, percussion), Giancarlo Maurino (saxophone, flute, percussion), Corrado Nofri (piano, marimba, mbira, siren, Jew’s harp), Giuseppe Caporello (contrabass, guitar, percussion) and Giampaolo Ascolese (drums) who released a single eponymous album in 1974. This is a release known mostly by Italian progressive rock lovers, since its sound can be easily associated
to the jazz-rock delivered by the way more popular Napoli Centrale and Perigeo - but also to the ‘fundamentals’ Dedalus, Arti & Mestieri, Uno, or even the lesser known Bauhaus for instance. But playing this
kind of music and trying to release an album in the first half of the ’70s in Italy was also incredibly hard and courageous: Spirale, in fact, was one of the many bands that lived a very short life, before splitting up and disappear forever. Spirale was originally released on the International King record label, thanks to Mario Schiano, a free-jazz
saxophonist who discovered the band, and producer Toni Cosenza, who included the album in the ‘King JazzLine’ series. Consisting of just four tracks, most of which taken by the 13-minute long “Cabral, Anno 1” and the marvellous 17-minute “Peperoncino (Cose vecchie, cose nuove)”, Spirale is an incredibly balanced and flowing record that sounds still fresh and inspired even today, and it’s a shame that it has remained hidden and overlooked for such a long time. Moreover, it is characterized by that undescribable and particular Mediterranean flavour that only Italian musicians were able to obtain. This beautiful album is of course immensely rare in its original edition, and is now finally reissued on Dialogo record label in a faithful restored version that will finally satisfy any collectors who have waited for
years for this beauty to see the light again!

Midway through his long, earnest and often very, very
funny essay on the role playing game ‘Dungeons &
Dragons’ in the September 2006 issue of The Believer,
writer Paul La Farge proposes that ‘Dungeons & Dragons’
is not a game at all but rather a ritual. La Farge notes the
marked difference between game and ritual. Whereas a
game seeks to demonstrate how unequal or distinct
players / teams are from one another, rituals seek to do
the very opposite.
 And so, across the 25-year history of Jagjaguwar - an
independent record label curiously named using a
‘Dungeons & Dragons’ name generator - we find this idea
of ritual as a conjoining practice. We see it early on when
Jagjaguwar join forces with a midwestern label called
Secretly Canadian for a powerful fusion. We see it in
familial relationships and collaboration among Jagjaguwar
artists and the ways those artists’ most treasured
collaborators make their ways to the Jagjaguwar game
board.
 ‘Join The Ritual’, a piece of Jagjaguwar’s 25th Anniversary
celebrations, looks to pay homage to the labels and artists
that, whether they know it or not, invited Jagjaguwar to the
table, to this wild, dark magic ritual of music. We’re talking
about independent titans like Drag City, Too Pure, K
Records and Touch & Go. We’re talking about heroes like
R.E.M., Slint, Stereolab and Tracy Chapman. These songs
captured the imaginations of founders Darius Van Arman
and Chris Swanson - and ultimately, opened up worlds to
them.
