Polyamore presents “Ritmo Magnetico EP” by Disco Strummer, a vibrant blend of disco, funk and Italo grooves. The title track delivers deep basslines, bright keys and uplifting energy made for the dancefloor, while “Stardust” takes a cosmic turn with space‑disco atmospheres and hypnotic synths. Together, the two tracks celebrate movement, freedom and Disco Strummer’s signature blend of sunny groove and cosmic flair.

There’s no direct English translation for the word “hiraeth”. In the Welsh language, it describes a form of longing for an intangible something, somewhere or someone that no longer exists. Sofie Birch and Antonina Nowacka draw on the concept to guide their second collaborative album, a suite of vulnerable, open-hearted improvisations and reflections that attempt to grasp an image of the past that’s chimeric, dissolving almost as soon as it materializes. The duo’s process follows the same distant beacon; unlike Languoria, their critically acclaimed debut, Hiraeth is, at heart, an acoustic record, informed by in-person improvisations with voices and string instruments that gesture to an era before computers, AI and DAWs. It’s just as lush, but Hiraeth is warmer and more muted than its predecessor.
Nowacka and Birch conceived the album in the wake of a slew of collaborative live concerts, spurred on by serendipitous improvisations and an interest in paring down their setup. Unsound arranged a retreat in Sokołowsko, an idyllic village nestled in the verdant hills of Southern Poland, close to the Czech border. Sokołowsko surrounds a large ruined sanatorium that’s rumored to have inspired Thomas Mann’s 1924 novel The Magic Mountain, and has long been a magnet for artists. The two took the opportunity to rethink their approach completely, arriving with just a guitar, a zither and a portable Nagra reel-to-reel machine. Recording directly to tape, they sketched out ideas with just their voices and instruments, reflecting their surroundings without being distracted or mediated by modern technology.
“We wanted to get away from screens as much as possible,” says Birch, “to bring to the world something vulnerable and honest. Without advance preparation, every day we went out into the open air, finding places to sit, during sunset or the midday sun. We discovered new tunings on our instruments, picked up a melody, and started the machine, playing over
and over till we got a take.” In the autumn, they met again in a Copenhagen studio, sparingly and carefully layering old synths and organs to add more depth without muddying the mix.
Both Nowacka and Birch sing throughout, their voices threading the acoustic instruments and tangling with each other, almost becoming one. But it’s the environment of Sokołowsko, “the birds and the light, even the wind playing against the harps,” that’s woven into the music’s lining. Affected by time spent meditating and in nature, as well as the fact that Birch was pregnant whilst recording, the album feels alive and remarkably present. Even the sound quality of the tape machine gives Hiraeth a tactile, organic quality, as Nowacka puts it, “like being in a warm bath.”

They still have the raw recordings from Sokołowsko on old reels, physical souvenirs of their time spent making music in a “habitat for intuitive songs, a little ecosystem, alive and spirited.” The outmoded gear and remote setting helped the duo disengage from the modern world for a few moments and imagine an existence that’s been lost to time and nominal progress. With digital technology receding into the background, Nowacka and Birch had space to make “intuitive connections with frequencies and people,” as Birch explains. Hiraeth is a testament not to nostalgia, but to the power of kinship.

New Zealand-based artist Vedanā leads the A-side with two original cuts, channeling a deep, hypnotic energy that moves between restraint and release. Each track reveals a different side of the same spectrum, balancing introspection with forward momentum.

On the B-side, label founder Herman Saiz delivers a reinterpretation rooted in his signature groove, bridging Chilean and New Zealand influences with a refined, driving touch. Romanian producer RQZ adds his own perspective, reshaping the original into a textured and immersive journey.

Convergence / Polarity captures the space where opposites meet — not as contradictions, but as essential counterparts in constant motion.

House and techno mainstay Steve Bug returns to Nu Groove with four-track EP ‘Let’s Work’, showcasing the sound of a true electronic pioneer on vinyl. Up first is title track ‘Let’s Work’, a bouncy club record with a cool, metropolitan feel. What follows are ‘Mr Wonders’ and ‘Not The First Time’, two tracks that highlight Steve Bug’s rhythmic expertise and mastery of tension. Closing out this vinyl collection of fresh house music is a collaboration with Los Angeles native and dance culture expert Juliet Mendoza; ‘Whispers In The Dark’ features Juliet’s magnetic spoken word over Steve’s brooding electronic groove.

Persistence of Sound releases a new work by Brunhild Ferrari called »L’oreille Voleuse« (The Thieving Ear). The LP features an extraordinary live reinterpretation by Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O’Rourke, recorded in October 2025 in Paris.

»No, without listening at doors, the ear captures noises here and there and unexpected sounds without choice, but remains attentive to the messages of each one picked up over the years. It gathers surprises and impressions, bringing them together in a simple mix. Eiko Ishibashi is a Japanese composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist who has developed a unique body of work blending experimental pop, improvisation, and film music. Her work, praised for its expressive intensity and sensitivity to sonic textures, has led her to collaborate with numerous musicians on the international scene, including Jim O'Rourke, with whom she forms a long-standing duo. She is also the composer of several film scores, notably for the films of Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, Evil Does Not Exist), which have helped to bring her work to a wider audience beyond experimental music circles.

Jim O'Rourke is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, and has been a major figure in experimental and independent music since the 1990s. His work spans rock, improvised music, electronic music, and contemporary music. A former member of Sonic Youth and a collaborator with Wilco, Gastr del Sol, and Merce Cunningham, he has released numerous solo albums and film scores. Based in Japan since the early 2000s, he continues to pursue a rich and multifaceted musical practice, where formal rigor and freedom of invention coexist.

Persistence of Sound was founded in 2019 by Iain Chambers (Langham Research Centre, Rubbish Music). The label explores the world of electroacoustic music, contemporary global field recordings, and the unclassifiable music spanning these genres.

This tidy joint release between Future Rootz and Luchando Music compiles rare recordings from 1970s and 80s Cuba, all sourced from private archives and reel-to-reel tapes. This is the sort of selection to get serious diggers hot under the collar as it explores funk-driven arrangements, jazz-informed horn sections and rhythm-led compositions contoured with Afro-Cuban percussion. There is plenty of tape saturation and analogue noise present throughout that reinforces the archival origins of the music and instrumentation centres on brass, keys and layered percussion, with grooves built from syncopated patterns and live ensembles. Alongside the music, restored credits and contextual research foreground the musicians and recording histories behind these previously unavailable works. Do not sleep on this one.

Guided By Voices’ last album Thick Rich And Delicious (October 2025) was lauded by NPR’s All Things Considered and picked #1 on Magnet Magazine’s Best Albums Of 2025. The single “We Outlast Them All” from this latest, Crawlspace Of The Pantheon, is an anthemic victory lap on album #44 from the indie rock stalwarts. Robert Pollard told Rolling Stone: “ ‘We Outlast Them All’ could be our ‘We Are The Champions’ but it’s not necessarily about us.

It’s about anyone who perseveres over a long period of time.” On Crawlspace Of The Pantheon: “I worked much more diligently on this set of lyrics. I chiseled away at lines and sections and phrasings...I wanted them to have an overall emotionally conceptual feel. At times it feels somewhat autobiographical.” Guided By Voices will not be on tour in 2026. Pollard recently told Magnet: “Why would we stop playing live and make these kinds of records? Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure's Vince Clarke, Blancmange's Neil Arthur and the electronic producer-writer-synth-nerd Benge have joined forces to form the new project Doublespeak. Set to be released on May 29th, their self-titled debut album revisits eleven of their favourite songs from the past four decades, each reimagined and renewed in the timeless space of gleaming analogue electronica.

The 'Doublespeak' album is divided between songs from the postpunk netherworld brought blinking into the light (Fad Gadget, The Sound, Young Marble Giants), pop radio monsters ushered back down a dark stairway into the club (ABBA, David Essex, The Carpenters) and buried treasures from the 1990s onwards (The Magnetic Fields, Ed Dowie and Laptop).

Collectively, the album amounts to a shadow autobiography of the three collaborators' continuing musical education. Doublespeak is the great human songbook, synthesised.

The group heard on ‘Warm Waves’ consists of musicians who Mia and Jesse were regularly playing with at the time - Sam Gendel, Mitchell Brown, Andres Renteria & Gabe Noel - joined by Laraaji, Arji & Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, making their first recordings together.

The group’s blended signal was routed through Mitchell’s tape loops and modular synthesizer, which contributed to the unique communal sound of these recordings. Further extending this approach, Carlos Niño then reprocessed and reimagined ‘Passing Rain’ with Jamael Dean for his Elemental Beat Mix.

Originally released one week into the official lockdown period, some listeners found the warm, collective sound well-suited for the time of introspection and shifting priorities that followed. Now, in 2026, ‘Warm Waves’ returns on vinyl to once again encourage peaceful contemplation and open-hearted togetherness, in echo of the spirit of its creation.

DJ Pone returns to his roots with Bass Culture (out March 6, 2026), a new 19-minute mixtape. A renowned turntablist, DJ Pone delivers an immersive and mesmerizing mix. Following his success with Birdy Nam Nam, he has released several genre-blurring projects, including the cinematic Radiant and the deeply introspective 1978. These albums showcase a producer with a meticulous ear for detail, atmosphere, texture, and storytelling—at times overshadowing the full extent of his talent and charisma behind the decks. With this new release, he reconnects with his first love: sound collage, razor-sharp cuts, and the magic of real-time manipulation. The mix fuses a burst of tracks into a seamless journey, punctuated by precise breaks and UK and tropical inflections. The sound design feels both cathartic and transient—a subtle blend of beats and sonic landscapes that echo and dissolve into one another with remarkable finesse. From an opening manifesto paying tribute to DJ Shadow and DJ Qbert to a rawer section infused with urbex textures, recalling the energy of Company Flow, Pone crafts a narrative that is as thoughtful as it is intensely joyful—yet paradoxically soothing. Mostly instrumental but never lacking soul, Bass Culture is filled with glitched melodies and vocal samples, echoes of his recent travels to Barcelona and beyond. The project stands as a personal, tactile canvas—instinctive and unembellished—pushing back against an era dominated by digital excess. The long-overdue revival of Bim Sherman’s catalog begins here. These essential recordings will become widely available again for the first time in decades, opening a new chapter in the appreciation of one of Jamaica’s most distinctive voices and representing a major moment for reggae and dub aficionados around the world. This reissue series will not only preserve his legacy but will also offer listeners the chance to experience the depth and timeless resonance of Sherman’s work in its full glory.

Bim Sherman—born Jarret Lloyd Vincent, in Westmoreland, Jamaica—holds a unique place in reggae history. Emerging in the mid 70s, his ethereal, haunting vocal style quickly set him apart from his contemporaries. He was soon collaborating with the top producers and musicians of the era, including Adrian Sherwood and the On-U Sound collective, bridging the gap between roots reggae and experimental dub and laying the groundwork for the fusion of Jamaican sounds with the vibrant underground scene in the UK. His career, from Kingston to London to Mumbai, was marked by an artistic daring and spiritual intensity that has earned him enduring respect across generations.

The centerpiece of this reissue campaign is Ghetto Dub from 1988, a record that distills Sherman’s artistry into its most potent form. Originally released in a limited number, the album embodies the stark yet soulful beauty of dub production. With its reverb-drenched drums, cavernous basslines, and echo-laden atmospherics, Ghetto Dub transforms Sherman’s various tracks into spectral presences that drift in and out of the mix. The arrangement and production—minimal yet profoundly textured—captures both the raw urgency of Jamaican street culture and the forward-looking experimentation of the UK dub scene. Each track unfolds like a meditation, balancing grit with grace, density with space. Ghetto Dub is more than an album; it is an immersive soundscape that reaffirms Bim Sherman as one of reggae’s most otherworldly and visionary figures.

For The Bobby Lees, their fourth album and Epitaph debut New Self marks a thrilling new chapter for the band while doubling down on what"s always made them so magnetic. The Bobby Lees don"t need much in the way of introduction. Within a few seconds of exposure to their furnace-blast live shows or their bottled-lightning studio records, it"s easy to hear why they"ve earned fans in legendary musicians like Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, and Henry Rollins. They"re as uncompromising in their sound and generous with their energy as any of their punk ancestors who first rewrote the rules of engagement back in the 1970s. Led by singer and guitarist Sam Quartin, drummer Macky Bowman, and bassist Kendall Wind, The Bobby Lees bring wildness and danger back into punk rock. You can hear the band easing into a new confidence -- one that"s both looser and more towering -- all throughout New Self, from the seething, fiery "Napoleon" to the rambunctious, offbeat take on PJ Harvey"s "50ft Queenie." This is the sound of a band who"s scrambled over shaky ground only to come back stronger than ever: more confident, more connected, louder and fiercer and secure in their own skin.

Dutch electronic maverick Spekki Webu stretches out on an expansive album for new label Outer Orbit Records, exploring his deep and wide-ranging influences across a captivating narrative of tripped-out beatdowns and evocative dreamscapes. Spekki Webu is someone who was naturally drawn into the magnetic pull of Outer Orbit after playing for their sister party Mizz Softee. As the time-travelling album title suggests, it's a meditation on formative sounds that propelled him on to myriad adventures across the many microcosms of electronic music. That means indulging in slower tempos and crooked grooves, with the influence of trip hop and illbient looming large in the boom bap drums that punctuate many of the album's passages. There is also space for immersive techno that operates as a lighter reflection of the sound he is best known for, as well as hints of buoyant house music, rolling breakbeat, dislocated ambient and intricate electronica. Cari Lekebusch, a key influence, contributes a rolling, heavy-grooving remix that closes out the record.

Quartier Celeste is a unique project in today’s landscape: here’s Premier Voyage, an album that goes beyond music to offer a complete universe, almost an autonomous mythology, which unfolds through music, lyrics, videos, and a collection of visual artifacts.

It all began with a revelation: the discovery of NASA’s sound archives, recordings collected during space missions to the outer
reaches of the solar system. What can be heard as we approach the Sun? What sound does a black hole produce when its electromagnetic activity is translated into audible frequencies? What does Jupiter's fifth moon whisper through the instruments of
a probe?

From track to track, we drift through an immense space — sometimes calm, almost meditative, sometimes shaken by cosmic storms. We encounter supernovas, cosmic rays, magnetic fields, stellar winds, and clouds of antimatter. Downtown Boys have pushed relentlessly forward as an artistic and political project since their founding. Singer Victoria Marie and guitarist/singer Joey La Neve DeFrancesco first met at union meetings while working together at a hotel in Providence, RI, writing many of the band's early songs about labor organizing and exploitative workplaces. The quintet is completed by Joe DeGeorge (sax/synth), Mary Jane Regalado (bass), and Joey Doubek (drums). Over years of touring, and three acclaimed albums, Downtown Boys have continued to grow as artists, musicians, and organizers. Now, the band has arrived with Public Luxury, an enthralling album that keeps politics front and center while summoning the band's most urgent and powerful sound to date. The definition of Public Luxury falls very much in line with that of the title of the second Downtown Boys LP, Full Communism. Straight up, Public Luxury means, "everything for everyone." It's the stubborn insistence that a better world is possible, while fully recognizing the horrors we witness daily, and the individual and collective responsibility to resist the nihilism and hopelessness we all feel. Sentiments like "everything for everyone," and "we will have it all" perfectly represent the cathartic, communal live experience this cadre of multi-instrumentalists create. These sentiments also encapsulate the inclusive, joyful sonic fusion that defines the album: anthemic punk and indie rock mix with Latin traditions, drum machines blend with acoustic drums, saxophones punctuate riffs, and layers of synths add flourishes from new-wave to industrial. The amount of ground covered on Public Luxury can't be overstated, and yet the album feels totally vital and cohesive. Public Luxury is a revisitation of the band's past for the sake of their future. It was co-produced by DeFrancesco with recording engineer and longtime Downtown Boys supporter Seth Manchester (Lambrini Girls, Lightning Bolt, Model/Actriz) at the Pawtucket, RI studio and arts space Machines With Magnets, not far from the band's first home of Providence, RI. Victoria Marie's grandmother-a monumental figure for the band throughout their existence-passed away in May of 2025, and her influence looms large over the album; the songs "No Me Jodas" and "Sirena" are crystallized representations of the love between a woman and her ancestor. Beyond the loss, rage and frustration of the present, Public Luxury points boldly towards a vibrant, open-hearted vision of both music and the world: "Our music is simply for anyone and everyone who believes in the new future we can make together," Victoria Marie declares. "A world that will be awkward, inconsistent, yet truly free when it comes to all that matters."

On a Sunday in the early 70s in South LA one could asily find themselves experiencing the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra doing what they do for the community, performing incredible music. "Live at Widney High December 26th, 1971" is a previously unreleased PAPA recording. It finds director Horace Tapscott conducting the band at Widney Career Preparatory & Transition Center, a special-education magnet high school in Los Angeles. The band played shows here between 1970 and "72, often sharing the bill with contemporaries John Carter and Bobby Bradford"s group, and at one point the Sun-Ra Arkestra. These weekend shows were free and meant for the surrounding Black community. On this date the PAPA performed a range of compositions from the Ark"s expansive songbook, including arrangements of tunes by Pharoah Sanders and John Coltrane.

Daskal debuts on DJ Tennis’s Life and Death label today with the release of “Changes,” the first single from his forthcoming album OD, out March 6. The release marks a defining moment for the producer and composer, whose work moves fluidly between contemporary dance, film, and electronic music, and represents his first full-length statement reconnecting his compositional practice with the dancefloor.

“Changes” arrives alongside a striking accompanying video directed by award-winning filmmaker Tamir Faingold, featuring dancers from the world-renowned Batsheva Dance Company. Rather than functioning as a traditional music video, the piece uses contemporary dance as its primary language, translating the emotional charge and magnetism of nightlife into movement. Together, the single and visual introduction frame OD as a bridge between club culture and the expressive traditions of modern dance and composition.

A classically trained composer with deep ties to the world of choreography, Daskal has spent recent years creating original scores for institutions including Los Angeles Dance Project and the Royal Danish Ballet, while simultaneously developing a parallel body of work across ambient and experimental electronic music. OD emerges as a convergence of those paths: a ten-track album shaped as much by physical movement and spatial awareness as by club tradition, positioning Daskal between concert hall, black box theater, and late-night club environments.

Recorded and mixed primarily using vintage hardware — including a rare 1980s German mixer in a high-end Tel Aviv jazz studio — OD reflects a deliberate shift away from purely atmospheric writing toward rhythm, repetition, and physicality, while retaining the precision and restraint of his compositional background.

Mit "Classics Vol. 1" (CV1) veröffentlichen Modeselektor eine besondere Edition, die wie ein musikalischer Lebenslauf funktioniert. CV steht nicht zufällig für Curriculum Vitae. Eigentlich wollten Szary und Gernot alte Tracks aus ihren ersten beiden Alben "Hello Mom!" und "Happy Birthday!" neu aufnehmen. Doch was als Rekonstruktion begann, verwandelte sich fast vollständig in etwas Neues. Eine frische Sammlung von Stücken, die den Geist ihrer frühen Releases atmet, ohne sie einfach zu kopieren. Das Duo blickt zurück und erschafft dabei Zukunft. Tracks wie "KILL BILL Vol.4", "Edgar" und andere Albentitel dienten als Ausgangsmaterial, wurden zig mal auseinander und wieder zusammengebaut, neu interpretiert und dann doch in den meisten Fällen nur als abstrakte Inspiration verwendet. Das Ergebnis ist eine Rückschau, die sich emanzipiert hat. Ein mutiges Experiment, ein gescheiterter Versuch im allerbesten Sinne.

Phosphor’s fourth release connects two promising talents from Barcelona’s underground scene: French producer Vince Void and Mexican DJ Gamba. Together, they deliver a finely crafted EP that blends punchy club dynamics with dreamy, psychedelic touches. From electro with 80s Italian accents to glitchy grooves and spacey breaks, PHP004 stands as a floor-ready release, moving with a subtle balance of tension and elevation.

Vince Void takes the A-side with two effective cuts. “Thunder” builds on a saturated Italo-style bassline and crisp, stripped-back drums, creating a steady tension that works perfectly at the start of a set. “Fashion Victim” switches the mood with acid-tinged grooves, glitchy stabs and a playful swing. It’s less linear but just as effective, adding contrast and movement to any DJ set.

On the B-side, DJ Gamba goes deeper. “The Universe”, in collaboration with Quim, weaves lush pads and shimmering arps into a rolling club structure, with subtle breakbeat accents that add lift and fluidity. To close, “Your Vision” slows the pulse slightly, blending filtered melodies, melancholic textures and a steady groove, locking in emotion without losing the club energy.

pdqb, the producer whose name sounds like a coded message, has surpassed the need for introduction. It emerged from nowhere, becoming omnipresent almost instantly, leaving every electronic music producer eager - if not obsessed - to work with it. Its original tracks are raw and elegant with warm synth lines, pulsing rhythms, and melodies that feel like echoes from forgotten futures. They always carry a strange magnetic pull.
Presented here are eight stunning remixes of its already-released tracks. Each one its own universe, each one remarkable in its own way, each one crafted by an expert in their field. The eight pieces twist, stretch, break apart, and rebuild the originals. They mutate into technoid creatures, melodies dissolve into vapor, and rhythms reorganize themselves into something alien and alive, yet each still holds a faint spark of pdqb's DNA, buried beneath layers of transformation.

"Es war die Gitarre meines Vaters", erinnert sich Danny Garcia, der Mann hinter dem Reverend. "Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich herausgefunden, dass sie auch meinem Großvater gehörte." Seit seiner Kindheit allgegenwärtig, hat die mexikanische Akustikgitarre für Garcia mit jedem Jahr an Bedeutung gewonnen. Modeight proudly adds another chapter to its vinyl legacy with Fedo - a Ukrainian artist with deep Greek roots, known for his meditative groove architecture, percussive depth, and the raw spirit of live music. On Nuke Hook EP, Fedo delivers four deep and dynamic cuts that strike a perfect balance between minimalistic precision and emotional richness.

Each track feels lived-in - jammed rather than programmed - crafted to resonate both on the dancefloor and in the mind. "Life is Life" opens with a thick, dubby beat and a jagged, growling bassline.
Midrange sequences curl around the low-end like vapor trails, creating a shadowy, hypnotic space built for late hours and strobe-lit intimacy. "Madam from Athens" pays homage to his Hellenic roots - dipping into dreamy chords, textured atmospheres, and modular motifs wrapped in velvety vocals. Warm and transportive, it's a love letter to place and memory.

On the flip, "After Out" hits hard. Sub-heavy, percussive, and driven by acidic synth lines, it's a peak-time weapon that doesn't ask - it commands.
Rounding off the EP is the cerebral yet groovy "Nuke Hook," where crisp percussion dances around mysterious piano phrases and immersive textures. A subtle but magnetic closer that lingers long after the drop.

Fedo joins the Modeight family with a statement of intent - deep, expressive, and forged in the heart of the underground. The journey continues.
