Darkness is moving over the surface of the watery deep at ’Cap Nord’. Acid lines cut thru the black liquid with sharp fins. Then a long break...is it the swan song of whales or the intercom of AI reapers? The end or a new beginning? When the Acid fades the Tekno kicks in. 150 bpm is the pace. Both long intro and bold beatless interlude create DJ options.

Sound Metaphors 23 returns, a label shining a light on the creative output of Spiral Tribe and the wider sonic and spiritual universe of the Freetekno and Free Party scene. In the sub-labels latest offering, a light is being shone on Robbert Latumahina, otherwise known as Sensory Overload and Hybrid Systems. This release sees him under the guise of Robbert Mononom, representing his membership of the legendary Dutch free party crew Mononom Soundsystem, responsible for the very first teknivals in The Netherlands and collaborators with other pioneering collectives such as Hardcore Peace Generation and Spiral Tribe themselves. What’s now being bought to light is some of the most brutal & intense original Freetekno ever committed to the recorded medium, culminating in the 20 minute long, psychedelic trip of Ice Age on the B-side.

These 3 gems by the original Spiral Tribe Live Set - R-ZAC aka Crystal Distortion and 69db have been carefully remastered by Stefan ZMK.
The A-Side was recorded in 1996 and the tracks on the B-Side Are from 1996 and 1997. Don't miss out on them now, if you don't have these tunes in your collection yet.

Sub Oscillator AKA Russ Gabriel has been part of the UK dance music scene since 1992, spanning everything from Breakbeat, Hardcore, Techno, Electro, House, Acid, Broken Beat and Ambient. But his first releases were under the guise of Sub Oscillator, releasing 3 EPs during 1992.

This is EP 2 that was originally released on Stu J’s Adrenalin Recordings out of Southampton and was dropped frequently at the legendary Madisons club in Bournemouth, where Stu was the resident DJ.

The most collectable of the 3 EPs under this name, it brings together the sounds of the hardcore rave scene, breakbeat and even some proper hardstyle Euro techno vibes too.
