One of our most mysterious and intriguing states of consciousness is the dream. We lose consciousness when we enter the deep waters of sleep, only to regain it as we emerge into a series of uncanny private realities. Through the fog of the mind we can get a glimpse of a world beyond our day to day realities that sometimes is able to show us deeper truths than those we face in awake states. Roger is one of those lucid pioneers that is able to translate these experiences into sound. Let him guide you through these wondrous clouds.
We're very happy to welcome Dutch-born German-raised Roger van Lunteren on SoHaSo for the first time. His Rosa Dos Ventos Ep is a four-track story that oozes retro vibes and nostalgia for a past that never seems to have existed. Utilizing raw 80's analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of Lynchian dreamscapes.
Vanish starts out with an emotional chord sequence, as you enter the fluid world of the subconscious. A gnarly bassline welcomes your arrival and lets you know things here aren't exactly what they seem. Journeying on through seemingly dark areas, it ends with a hopeful melody and the bass softens as you start feeling weightless. Uncontacted uses choral pads and two intertwining 303 sequences as a way of communicating between the different dimensions.
Aroy Dee remixing Vanish is like taking a psychotropic liquid, adding more drive to the original while retaining the emotive synth patterns. Sleepless is Roger's hardest cut on the record, again providing directly plugged in 303 goodness and stomping beats. It rounds off a balanced ep with plenty of introspective dance material.

Taking on a true trance classic and a personal favorite of his, Len Faki takes us back to the golden era of big melodies and early raves, sharing two very distinct interpretations of Firedance by Odyssee of Noises, the prolific production outfit helmed by Ralf Hildenbeutel. Originally released in 1994 on legendary label Eye Q, this track marked a special period for Faki, when he was fully immersing himself into the scene, and accompanied him through his most formative times as a dancer and a becoming DJ.Brimming with the iconic elation of those nights, side A keeps with the emotive theme of the original's Sunrise version, tweeking only slightly to cater for the needs of these days' dancers. Re-shaping the classic to match modern productions for it to be mixed with current bangers, Faki packs the tune's anthemic appeal into a propulsive ride down memory lane...

Pushing at the edges which define techno, afro and deep house these three tracks bring fresh heat to the dancefloor, creating an ethereal mood whilst delivering maximum power and energy. If paired down, minimal electronic percussive sounds are your thing, lead track Ligai will tick all the boxes. Stina follows with driving, syncopated beats and a killer pan-pipe riff to hook you in. Closing the record Sand brings a deeper, atmospheric track loaded with floating M1 textures, warm bass and spirited percussion fills. All in all a highly effective and inventive slice of wax with a voguish twist to groove to.

Greek producer Fluxion returns to Danish imprint Echocord in January with his 'Upsides & Sideways EP', comprising three original productions.
The Athens-based artist has spent nearly two decades
honing his craft both on stage through his live improvised performances and in the studio, producing records for the likes of Chain Reaction, Vibrant Music and Subwax Bcn.
Copenhagen's Echocord has consistently delivered high quality dub techno from the likes of Roberto Clementi, Brendon Moeller and Luke Hess since its inception in 2001 and now Fluxion returns with his twelfth outing on the label with his latest material.
Fluxion opens with 'En route', employing sharp percussive foundations, white noise atmospheres and haunting chord rogressions which evolve throughout the track before 'The Place' offers dubbed out synthesiser motifs and glitching arpeggios which are underpinned by echoing drums and a subtle bass melody. 'Flick' then closes out the release with spacey synth riffs developing over groove-led percussion and a warm, distorted low-end.

A year on from Luigi Tozzi and label head Dino Sabatini's collaborative Manticora EP, Outis return with a striking, singular solo work from Tozzi. Ecate EP sees the Roman producer bringing three distinct slices of techno, each with its own set of subtleties and the crystal, adept sound design that defines Tozzi's work. Spanning the A-side is Ecate. This title track is rolling and hypnotic, with muscular, percussive bass. Throughout the track, angelic chords come and go, washing the listener in euphoria. Alongside, we hear a disorienting melody, grounded by the lightly swung four to the floor kick that gives this track an infectious groove. The flip opens with Leto, which immediately defines itself as a club track with an unbroken but evolving set of percussion and a weighty kick. It's around this kick that other elements build. We hear long, ringing, resonant string sounds, and a bell like melody morph and unfold as other percussive components come and go. The track falls away into atmospheric eeriness, which perfectly sets the stage for the EP's finale. Esperede's swung, panning drums give it a disorienting feeling of otherworldliness from the get go. This is before you're greeted by an alien, slightly dubbed out melody and a hanting backing drone that feels like a reference (perhaps in opposition) to the angelic chords of the EP's first track. It's on this closing track that Tozzi's delicate, expert sound design best shines through, and really has to be heard to be understood. Vital Sales Points: Social networks and Promotion by Tailored Communication

Mental Overdrive, Norwegian gran ol wizard of techno, owner of Love OD Communications starts of with 'Clocked', a colorful and moody track with a touch of grittyness. Thomas Urv, Ploink Label head and one of Norwegian techno's main protagonists, brings a signature raw high energy techno track '6.24 Con Dao'. Per Hammar, Swedish producer and DJ based in Berlin, the captain behind Dirty Hands and 10Years labels delivers a steady dubbed hypnotic house track 'Blank Space'. Thomas Skjaerstad from Trysil, Norwegian winner of Burn Residency 2017 finishes the EP with a punchy, dark spaced out techno track titled 'Space X (Sommeroya Edit)'.

Cocoon Recordings presents: R!
Includes a set of 6x12' exclusive fluorescent vinyl records which glow in the dark and create a "magical' effect while played in club.
Techno in 2018 and Cocoon Recordings in 2018: What on earth is left when everything has already been said, done, produced, sampled and triggered, then revisited and re-imagined once again for good measure - and all that, knowing full well the wheel can't actually be reinvented... but hang on a second, isn't that exactly the point Isn't that the real core of this music It just keeps on turning like a great, infinite wheel!
The revolution in sound, that magical moment at the very beginning is now, admittedly, a distant memory. To this day however, the origins of the movement reappear time and again as stylistic features in current productions. The uncompromising, distorted rhythms of Detroit, the euphoria of UK Acid House and the subsequent 'Second Summer of Love' or the magical "Bring Down The Walls" vibe of Germany's post-reunification years which still shapes the Berlin scene today, not forgetting of course, the Hessian excess of the Techno-freaks from Frankfurt.... all this has very little to do with contemporary Techno. The meaningful element of this music, the true core of quality techno lies in itself, not in what once was or where it came from. That's exactly why this music still works, even for those who have been on the bus from day one.
In the meantime, the wheel has turned so far that every conceivable genre has been defined and then packed full of memorable moments. Techno, Minimal, House, Tech House, Deep House, Electro, EDM, Acid etc, etc, etc. Names, styles, references... it's all smoke and mirrors. Yes, they certainly help us to categorise a track on first listening, but it's listening to the music, dancing to it and simply letting it be that's by far the most important thing. Society as a reflection of cultural development shows us where persistent labelling can lead. Left, right, up, down, all this ultimately leads us to lose sight of what's really important. Music and dancing connect people, overcome language barriers, skin colours and national borders and we have to start looking at our music in this light. Almost 30 years after the Second Summer Of Love, it's time to classify our music not by origin and category, but by the feelings it triggers and how it works.
Which brings us to Cocoon Recordings and above all to Cocoon Head Sven Väth, who demands exactly this from himself and "his" music. Few other DJs embody the ability to "think outside the box" like Frankfurt's honorary citizen, whether he's dropping Sade's version of "Why Can't We Live Together" to close out the night or ushering in Monday morning with the Bangles' "Just Another Manic Monday". Of course Sven and Cocoon are also synonymous with Techno, nevertheless we should look back over the last few years of Cocoon Recordings with great pride and recognise that strict style guidelines and exaggerated pigeonholing no longer apply. It's especially true for the compilation series, which having now reached the letter R(ecordings), impressively shows the arc the Frankfurt label's output continues to span. From soft and melodic with a lot of depth to highly functional and extremely crisp - there's a creative range on offer that very few labels can boast.
"I listen to and play everything that I like and that touches me. I always pack a genre-spanning record bag, I'm particularly interested in those special tracks - that's exactly how my vision of Cocoon Recordings is about!" (Sven Väth)
The current compilation "R" not only continues this idea, it is a prime example of the label's philosophy. The illustrious circle of artists on the latest compilation is peppered with such prominent names as Isoleé, Lusine, Pig&Dan, Inigo Kennedy, Ambivalent & Alden Tyrell, ROD and Mano Le Tough. Label representative and Frankfurt original Ingo Boss is once again on board and with contributions from International Anything, John Heckle, Cristi Cons and Eduardo De La Calle, promising new faces from further afield are also represented. Of course, all this doesn't say much about the actual content, but that's exactly what it's about. Known vs. unknown, origins, discography etc, it's not important on this LP-Box. Cocoon Recordings delivers what the label stands for and what it does best: promoting new artists, bringing celebrity names on board and above all, not building any musical walls either on or off the dancefloor. With releases like this, it's clear to us that the journey is ongoing and the wheel will continue to spin. All we have to do is join in and stop trying to label everything we don't know and put it in a box. Our music isn't new anymore, but it remains great and has the energy to connect us, no matter what category or subcategory it belongs to.
That's enough talk for now... "Go out and start dancing!" (Franz Beckenbauer)

Milan based collective Just This return with two VA releases to continue their 'Broken Promises' series. With the aim of documenting the progression of cultural movements, the label have pursued underground material since 2010. Broken Promises Part 3 and Part 4 are due for release on 1st December and 8th December respectively, and each feature four new tracks channelling refined techno with minimalist, ambient sentiments.
Hunter/Game open Part 3 with 'Distance', a meditative journey through ambient textures using expansive synths and vast acoustics. Next, Architectural brandishes 808 drums for a tense workout on 'Electric Soul'. On the B-side, label co-owner Pisetzky explores the darker side of minimal on 'Anterial', whilst Altman plays with moody bass and ricocheting percussion on 'Shapes'.
Part 4 opens with a shuffling rhythmic framework on Inland's 'Aechmea', followed by 'Zona', a pointillist groove by Ben Gibson, aka one half of the collaborative project Dyad. On My Flower's 'Kundal', a cyclical melody wanders through eerie acoustics whilst Hiver navigates a broken beat framework with glitchy distortions and dub echoes on 'Stellar Parallax Landing'.

Dutch live-act and DJ duo Artefakt return to Delsin Records with an intricately produced three track release entitled 'Falling Into The Light'. Artefakt began releasing music together in 2012 and now boast a discography spanning Field Records, Konstrukt and Deep Sound Channel, not to mention regular appearances on Delsin where their debut album entitled 'Kinship' dropped in 2017. Returning to Delsin, the pair's next outing once again demonstrates their ever-evolving sound and is an exciting precursor for the launch of their own label later this year. Rolling drums open the release in 'The Blue Hour' as murky synths join hazy atmospherics, making way for 'Weltformel' with its racing syncopated percussion and ethereal pads that ebb and flow throughout the mix. Finally, 'Falling Into The Light' combines springy kicks with crystalline melodies, metallic elements and rattling effects to conclude a mesmerising release.

'Turquoise', that is Turkuvaz, is a French-origin word inspired by the color of the Mediterranean, located within the borders of Turkey. Meaning; blue is the color that plays the green. At the same time it is relative. Because both colors are in it, if you love blue you will see blue, if you love green you will see it green. It means heaven and earth. The eternity is turquoise... The eternity is infinite. At the same time; the boundary between the earth and the sky. Some will find love in it , some will find serenity, some will remember the loneliness and find sadness, embracing some with zeal and reminiscent of the return to the nest, the power of holding hands tightly with two hands. And according to my opinion, the concept of life, the mortal world, is how we see these lands curtained until the last breath of life that we have been living on for centuries. There are billions of beings in our sky and on Earth that do not attract our attention, We can not see, can not hear, can only feel, there are enough lights to count and never disappear in the stage. This EP that you hold in your hand is a reflection of it.
Music was the easiest way to reach you. In doing so, the motto was 'never disappearing at the stage'. I know, because if nobody hears me, God, the real dominion of light the true owner of all the darkness will hear me.
Each sound I created, I filled it with a light and I added a little more sand to the clock. Sounds I created is to show you your own technique of finding your way to light, to make you understand that you are not alone, and that there is someplace really there for you. Without much effort, resting and reviving.
I believe that every one of us who lives on earth has a specific, holy purpose. The important thing is to find and catch it. Our inner journey is to be able to complete our enlightenment as spiritually as possible. And I still believe that we always need music to do that. Because the sounds; they will never disappear.
Turquoise, which is the work of this enlightenment period, which I have lived and found to be my self, will be a source of light for you and help you find God who lives in you.

Forging a distinctive sound in todays crowded Techno landscape is no easy task. Madrid based Mario Campos aka Kwartz has grown his robust, propulsive sound into one of the most interesting and vital strains of modern Techno. After notable releases for Mord, Warm Up, Pole Recordings, and his own label 'Order & Devotion', we are excited to present a 6 track Kwartz offering for Horo.
Purists will have their desires satiated with the driving, undulating title track and dancefloor favourite 'Altered States Of Consciousness' while the rest of the EP sees Mario take his style into exploration mode. 'Beyond Belief' functions as an emotive centre point to the releases' varied moods, while the off kilter static of 'Over A Sign Recognition' and the writhing bounce of 'Recoil' and 'Frame Dislocation' complete the carefully sculpted form of the release.
'Body Sedation' works in a listening environment as well as it does on an open minded dance floor, and we can confidently say, it's built to last.

Inigo Kennedy has released upwards of 100 records since he started in 1996, cementing his esteemed aesthetic and revealing his digital mastery further with each release. This immense discography embraces both the traditional and the ambitious; prevalent fundamentals and established concepts meet discord, clashes in texture and supreme use of space. Kennedy's 2007 record Identify Yourself was Token's first release. Although Kennedy was well-established by this point, that inaugural step taken together, with Token as a newcomer, began the much-needed growth of the label in a period of time when techno music yearned painfully for a refresh. This was the beginning of a close relationship between artist and label that has remained fruitful through the 11 years of Token's existence. Kennedy is now long-recognized as an integral contributor to Token's output; the label is the indisputable natural home for his sixth album, and in turn he continues to play his part in advancing Token's evolving sound with this release. Strata expands conceptually on the idea of planetary layers alluded to in Magma/Mantle, released in February 2018. The album progresses through levels of ornate drama, opening with Clarion Call (Return to Nothing), a full-length refix of the celebrated introduction from Kennedy's 2015 release of the same name, showing off the best of his melodic manipulation and creativity in sound design. This delicate grace is cut through spectacularly by the jaggedness of the approaching textures of Trapezoid, while the elegant and icy beauty of Stillness Expanded is impacted by the noisy and epic Reminiscence, which grand and almost clerical in its resounding majesty. Shudder grounds the record in restrained grit and provides functionality, while the opening fanfare of Breaking Point advances yet another degree of energy. The record's built-up intensity is broken at its conclusion by the sleepy, acid-tinged Oblivion - one that bumps along with a drowsy breakbeat and invites the mind to wander. With Strata, Kennedy proves once again that his reserves of passion, skill and potency are far from depleted; that there is yet more to be discovered in the depths of his imagination

For its third release, Rapid Eye Movement conveys various artists to propose another stunning odyssey into the fields of forward-thinking deep and dark techno. Following the industrial acid and rave spirited rocket "Rack rash" launched by Phara & Border One, Memorial Home drives the space shift to trigger with "About Her" our neuronal and emotional crazytivity with a subliminal dogged rhythm driven theme which combines frantic and syncopated beats with highly suggestive atmospheric sound waves. If "Another Wasted Night" by Manent slows down the pace, it is to provide a sublime artistic statement of intense cinematic and contemplative techno moods. This is just to announce the gem provided by Kas:st merging hypnotic layers of UFO-like sounds with an awesome melodic main theme rocking or soothing our souls such as in a Kubrickian travel to the outer space. Closing the journey or rather opening our mind towards infinite and undefined horizons, "Eternal" by VII Circle is another demonstration of these talented producers' ability to craft highly emotional tunes, this time by merging industrial techno groove with haunting trippy trance synth textures.

year after their debut on the label, Crossing Avenue return with five more sublime techno tracks on Spazio Disponibile. That first EP remains the only outing for the pair of Andrea La Bombarda and Andrea Montrone, and this new one is another experimental trip into mind melting grooves. Opener 'Laguna' is a loopy, liquid track of fluttering drums and rubbery kicks that never lets up. 'Ortica' is more gloopy and wonky, with firmer kicks and aqueous sounds dripping off the groove, while 'Lyra' is beautifully delicate and intricate, with underwater life forms drifting by as gentle xylophones sounds dance around. The masterful minimalism continues on the dark, undulating and alien 'Vilipendio,' and things round out with the paranoid voices and panning synths of 'Mekong', an unsettling track that has you looking over your shoulder.

Label head honchos Sleep D are back with another production out of The Jackal Studios, located in Melbourne, Australia.
'Red Rock (IV Mix)' kicks off the release, a mid-tempo mover originally performed live at Inner Varnika 2017, re-imagined in the studio taking you back to the alien-like surrounds of rural Victorian landscape Bookaar.
'Bunyip Beat' reinforces the mood, forcing your mind to explore the flow of the odd-ball rhythm.
Flip it over and you have almost 8 minutes of hypnotic aural madness on 'Sandman', a real late night outdoor atmospheric finish on this diverse release.

Delsin's reissue arm once again looks to the revered back catalogue of Lost Trax for a second 12" that picks out the best of the anonymous collective's work. The EP features five cuts taken from two highly sought after EPs released on Tabernacle Records in 2011 and 2012. 'The Eye' opens things up with punchy drum programming and the sort of sci-fi effects and synths that immediately take you to a future intergalactic world. It's a weighty but emotional opener, while 'Pulp' is more twisted and urgent, with warped synth sounds and busy, bristling drums and perc all building pressure throughout. 'The Forest' resets the mood with mystic synths and mysterious atmospheres that mix ambient beauty with suggestive skeletal beats. 'B01' then canes through the cosmos on a Detroit electro tip with slithers of synth, swollen pads and crisp hits and 'Dominion' rounds things out in hurried fashion. The restless electro drums pound away as prickly snares and cymbals, blurts of machine noise and sweeping pads all wrestle for attention and keep you on your toes. This is high octane electro and techno designed with metallic precision but oozing plenty of human feelings.

2x12" What started as ‚Raw Imprint' in 2016 with three DJ friendly various artist releases is now celebrating it's relaunch as ‚R-Imprint' with an extensive revision of the previously released trilogy. ‚Exordium Trilogy Remixed' invites a wide variety of artists to contribute forming the slowly unraveling vision of the R-Imprint founders Rythen, Jonas Landwehr & Felix Fleer. Stockholm Techno-mainstay Pär Grindvik starts of the record with an emotional reimagination of Rythen's gloomy take on deep Tool Techno, parisian Zadig reconstructs Environ.'s warehouse stomper ‚A1' into a psychotic, Axis-reminiscent, yet futuristic Techno exploration.Berghain resident Norman Nodge opens up the B-Side with a skillfully, minimalist take on Landwehr & Fleer's ‚Falling', followed by a driving, percussive, ambient Techno trip from swedish mastermind Acronym as an answer to AWB's ‚Decoy' Sinfol's highly emotional, furutistic take on Jonas Landwehr's ‚Elysian Fields' and Shifted's deep driving, micropercussive interpretation of Felix Fleer's ‚Persistence of Memory' constitute the C-side, while their collaborative track ‚Inner Sanktum' is receiving a melancholic, offbeat revision by dutch duo Artefakt to close the record of after Tadeo's driving Tool-Techno spin on Alderaan's ‚Clarity'.

For the first time, Volte-Face's BleeD releases a Various Artists compilation, featuring friends and close family of the label. Named after Joseph Beuys' concept of 'Social Sculpture', which serves to harness collective potential in an attempt to transform society (in some small way at least!), the release features eight different artists who embody the BleeD sound of the last few years of activity - Volte-Face, Rote (Daniel Avery & Volte-Face), DJ Nobu, Peder Mannerfelt, Opuswerk, Refracted, AWB and BLNDR.
